Opening new window for reports.

As of now the reports open in the samewindow as the parent while being displayed,Can someone say what to do to open the report in a new window other then the window from which it was called.I have used javascript:
new window.open() but was not successful.

When adding a component to a folder using "add item" in the folder edit mode, on the second page of the add item wizard, there is a selection list that will control how the component is displayed. Select the radio button corresponding to, Link That Displays Item In New Browser Window.
That should do it.

You can set the workprotect mode on a global level so its used for every user.
Systemadministration -> Systemconfiguration -> Service Configuration -> Applications -> com.sap.portal.epcf.loader -> Services -> epcfloader. Set the "workprotect.mode.default". After you have saved the entry. ricght click on com.sap.portal.epcf.loader in the tree menu and choose "administrate". Click on "restart".

I can't open new windows for my firefox

Hi,
I am not able to open new windows in Firefox (Version 31.0) on my Windows 8 PC. When I click the open new window, it doesn't makes any effects.

In BI4.1 SP03, there are couple openDocument fixes related to workspace.

What version of BI4.0 do you have?
If the fixes above are related to your openDocument workspace issue, I'd suggest you to test it on a BI4.1 SP03 sandbox.

Firefox will not open new window for websites that require it

I am running Firefox 3.6.16 on Windows XP.
For some time now, certain websites will just not work - for instance, when I use Mapquest, it used to open the new window when I clicked on "print" - that no longer happens.
Today, I was trying to use the eScrip online mall, and when I clicked on the store name, it did not open a new window - this was working fine back in December when I was doing my online shopping.
My suspicion is the new version has some kind of problem. does anyone have a solution for this?

I use MapQuest a lot but haven't used the PRINT option for a while. I just tried it and you are right, the PRINT does not open any window or even work. But if you change it to the NEW MapQuest, the PRINT function will work. I guess MapQuest has disabled the PRINT option in their CLASSIC version. Maybe they are trying to encourage users to use their NEW version instead.
If you still want to use the CLASSIC version, you can always copy the map and paste it onto a Image Editor program and print from there.

Opening New Window for the file

Hi Everyone,
I have a requirement, where in the client has policy file, which is made to display when clicked on a link.
But the problem is, the pdf policy file opens in the same window. If the user closes the pdf policy file window, the connection to the application will be lost and the data that is entered in the previous page is also lost.
For the above reason, the client wants the file to open in a new window instead of in the same window. So that the connection to the application is not lost, even if the Policy file window is closed.
Can anyone help me in accomplishing the above with list possible customization.

Swiftkit opens new window for runescape

I want to play runescape on my mac, so i downloaded the application swift kit. But whenever I click "play now" on the homepage in swiftkit, it asks me if i will allow it to run, and then it opens the game in a new window. very aggrevating.. any ideas?

I don't think there is anything you can do... You could use Mission Control or Expose to quickly switch but I wouldn't use SwiftKit while training because you might get killed

Runtime.exec() - how to open new window for new program?

I have searched through the forums but haven't found an answer to this one yet. I am using runtime.exec() to start up a new java program. At first I thought it wasn't running properly but, after checking task manager, I have discovered that the new program I open runs, it is just completely invisible to me. I am wondering how I can get the new program to run in a command window or something where I can monitor it.

Thank you all. After trying to figure out why the start command wouldn't work in the runtime.exec() call(not an executable - I am a dolt), I tried putting it in a batch file and it worked perfectly. Thanks for your help,

Firefox won't open new tab, have to open new window for any link.

Finder always opens new windows

Finder always opens new windows for me. It didn't used to do this (its been doing it at least since I was using 10.5.6), and "Preferences > Always open folders in a new window" is not checked. Any ideas?

Sorry if this sounds to simple, I'm hoping that it is, but in a finder window do you have the toolbar showing? Because if you don't it will open all the folders in there own windows. To fix there is a little button in the top right that hides the toolbar, also if you goto view hide toolbar it will do the same.
If that isn't the case try removing the com.apple.finder.plist found in Macintosh HD -> Users -> YOUR USER -> Library -> Preferences, and trashing it.

Button on page opens new window, session times out in old window

Hi,
I've created a custom page and added a button through personalizations in Oracle that opens the new custom page in a new window. When this happens, though, the original window throws the following error when a user attempts to use any functionality in that page:
Error: Cannot Display Page
You cannot complete this task because you accessed this page using the browser's navigation buttons (the browser Back button, for example).
More specifically, the new button has been added to a LOV page in Oracle. Navigation would be: Create timecards page, click on Task LOV button (this opens new window for Task LOV), new button is on this Task LOV page. The new button then opens the custom page, and when the user returns to the Task LOV page to select a task they receive the error.
How do I prevent this error when the new custom page opens from the button?

I have an update to this issue:
I found that adding the value &retainAM=Y to the button URL for my custom page resolves the issue of the time-out in the Task LOV page. However, when I make the task selection in the LOV page and return to the main create timecard page, I find that the session has timed out on that page.
Any suggestions?

How to open new window and generate oracle report from apex

Hi,
I had created an application that generates PDF files using Oracle Reports, following this Guide.

And I followed 'Advanced Technique', so that users can't generate PDF file by changing URL and parameters. This is done for security reasons.
But in this tutorial, when 'Go' button is pressed, the PDF file is displayed on the same window of apex application. If so, user might close the window by mistake. In order to avoid this, another window have to be opened.
So, I put this code in the BRANCH - URL Target. (Note that this is not in Optional URL Redirect in the button property, but the branch which is called by the button.)

But if the button is pressed, I get this error.
ERR-1777: Page 2100 provided no page to branch to. Please report this error to your application administrator.
Restart Application
If I put the code 'javascritpt ....' in the Optional URL Redirect, another window opens successfully, but the Process to generate report job is not executed.
Does anyone know how to open new window from the Branch in this case?

Try putting your javascript into your plsql process using the htp.p(); procedure.
For example, something along these lines should do it:
BEGIN

htp.p('</script>');
END;
What happens is the javascript is browser based whereas your plsql process is server based and so if you put the javascript into your button item Optional URL Redirect it is executed prior to getting to the page plsql process and therefore it will never execute the process. When you have it in your branch which normally follows the processes, control has been handed to the server and the javascript cannot be executed and so your page throws the error "Page 2100 provided no page to branch to"... By "seeding" the plsql process with the embedded javascript in the htp.p() procedure you can achieve the desired result. You could also have it as a separate process also as long as it is sequenced correctly to follow your other process.

You may have installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

They open new windows with ads for online gambling, online dating among other things. I am growing sick and tired of these ads, and have tried multiple things. I have uninstalled and reinstalled software, I have blocked pop-up ads and unenabled Java script. I have tried everything I could find, but nothing has worked. I have even downloaded AdBlock and Clean Genius. Nothing has even remotely changed this annoying trait. I hope this can be a quick fix I can perform and not something that will have to be done by a tech-hand. Please, if you know anything about this issue, let me know how to fix it.
