Opening OEM for two Oracle 11gR2 Databases in the same web browser automatically log out.

Hi to everyone,
I have an issue regarding Oracle Enterprise Manager in 11gR2. I have two database (SWPROD, PDPROD) in a single server. When I open the OEM URL for  SWPROD it is successfully logged on but when I open the OEM URL for PDPROD and successfully logged on the other tab for SWPROD will automatically logged out. And when I switch to the other tab for PDPROD it is also automatically logged out. Both OEM URL is open in a single web browser like Mozilla Firefox. What would be the reason why both OEM URL will be logged out when I open them at the same time?
Thank you for your incoming response.

Well it seems the only way to clear these out of EM was to shut BOTH RAC nodes down and power them up one at a time.  Now the updates aren't shown as required and my compliance score is where it should be.
Is this a bug ?  Seems pretty stupid to have to shut down both RAC nodes to fix this.  Powering a single RAC node off and back on did not clear this.
Unless i'm missing something??

  • Standalone oc4j and oracle 9i database on the same windows xp machine

I m trying to deploy my j2ee application in my local system using standalone oc4j container(Oracle Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.3.1)).To configure OC4j,I had to mention ORACLE_HOME=d:\oc4j as a user defined env variable.after that the oc4j started running normally.then i installed oracle 9i database in the same system to use it as the database for the application.During installation it prompts that ORACLE_HOME is alredady set. However the installation completes successfully. But when i try opening sql plus,it throws and error asking to check oracle_home.Its only after changing oracle home to d:\oracle,that sql plus opened and i could log in to it.But after that oc4j would not run saying it cannot find relevant files. Is it not possible to have standalone oc4j and a database for a J2ee application on the same system.if its possible, how can we go ahead? Thanks in advance

  • Having two oracle clients installed at the same time

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to have two oracle clients installed at the same time on one computer, and if there is a way to be changing the default client between the two. I need to have installed the oracle client 10g and 8 versions on the same computer, because we have a problem with a legacy application that for some reason only works with version 8, and we need the 10g because our new applications requires 8.1 or later. We are still migrating to the new system but we developers need to have the two clients. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Is it possible, sure.
Technically, clients before 8.1.5 were not multi-home compliant, so having Oracle 8 and Oracle 10g clients on the same machine is almost certainly not supported. On the other hand, I know that a number of developers at Oracle had combinations of Oracle 7 clients Oracle 8 clients, Oracle 8i clients, and Oracle 9i clients on their development machines at the same, so you shouldn't have too many major issues.
Most "default client" issues come down to which ORACLE_HOME is first in the system's PATH. Ideally, you would leave the Oracle 8 ORACLE_HOME first in the path and explicitly reference the 10g ORACLE_HOME when configuring anything that relies on the 10g client.

  • Can you have two separate icloud accounts for two iphones that sync with the same imac?

can you have two separate icloud accounts for two iphones that sync with the same imac?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Yes and no.
There is no issues at all if you use two user accounts on the mac, each can sync with one of the accounts.
If you are using a single user account, you can add the second account as a secondary account in settings > mail, contacts and calendars and you can then sync mail, contacts, calendars, notes and reminders from the second account, but not documents and data, back to my mac or photostream.

  • When I try to open a second page in safari I press the " +" button but it automatically closes out of safari.. Wht should I do?

When I try to open a second page in safari I press the " +" button but it automatically closes out of safari.. What should I do?- thanks

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
If that doesn't fix it then try closing Safari via the taskbar and see if it works when you re-open it :
iOS 7 :double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the Safari app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option if the above doesn't fix it is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Enable hyperthreading for virtualized Oracle 11gR2 database (OEL57 64-bit)?

We are virtualizing our Oracle 11gR2 databases (running on OEL57 64-bit) on Vmware 5.1. I've read information at various locations that hyperthreading is not recommended for Oracle 11g database. One example is here, however, I seen many more:
    http://bryangrenn.blogspot.com/2011/08/hyperthreading.html
My issue is that Vmware themselves recommends enabling hyperthreading for virtualized Oracle databases in their Oracle Databases on VMware Best Practices Guide.
Does anyone have any practical experience with this issue that can be shared? What are the advantages and disadvantages of enabling hyperthreading for our virtualized Oracle 11gR2 on OEL57 64-bit virtual machines
    Thanks, Fred

If you read the comments on that blog you will see that the results are highly dependent on the type of CPU.
The effects can also be dependent on the nature of the workload: you may have CPUs that are fine with an OLTP workload, but don't scale as you might hope with a DW workload.

  • CProjects - Partition for two or more groups on the same system

    Hi,
Our business requirement for cProjects implementation is such that we have two groups (two companies infact) under an umbrella brand. We have already impemeneted cProjects for one of them. It's time now to have this implemented for the other group.
How can we ascertain that there's a partition in the system by which one group is completely independent of the other? One group should not see the projects/data of the other group and vice versa. Authorizations to projects helps but in a system, a user can fetch (in project search) the names of all projects in the system (irrespective of whether one has authorization). How can we take care of this?
    Summary:
We are looking for the ssytem where one group of cProjects users works in the system as if it were the only group working. We intend to ensure the same for the second group as well.
    Please suggest.
    Regards...

    Hi Zhenbo,
You get points for the "very helpful answer". Thanks.
I have not been able to make a complete breakthrough though. Please see if you can help.
There are three steps under "Structural Authorization"
    1. Create Authorization Profile: I see this defined in my system (comes from HR)
    2. Save user in SAP Memory (IMG has enough documentation on this.
    3. Assign Autorization profile to users: Here, I assigned one of the "Auth. Profiles" to the user (myself). At this, I see that the system (cProjects front end) returns an empty list.
This means that the system expects the Business Partners, pertainig to that "Auth. Profile" (which I set in step 3 above). And because it does not find any, it returns an empty list.
What I am not looking for is:
How to bring in the Business Partners (we are using the HR Master Employees) under this "Auth. Profile" such that the system picks them when we do a resource search at cProjects front end?
So... what I am looking for is: relation between this "Auth. Profile" assigned to the user and the Business Partners corrresponding to this "Auth. Profile".
Please see if you can help.
    Regards,
    Bittu.

You can create multiple databases on the same machine, if you have sufficient resources.

  • Can you have multiple databases on the same LUN in Exchange 2010?

I'm sure you can but is it possible with exchange 2010 to have multiple databases on the same LUN.  We currently have 8 DB's all writing to their own DB drive and separate log drive so 16 drives in total.  I need to spin a new DB up this week and
wanted to double check this is possible.  I've looked online and cant find anything that I've seen before that says this is possible.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Yes, multiple databases could be placed on the same LUN, but it's not recommended.
If you have 2 drives fail at the same time (it happens more than you think), then losing 100% of your DBs is a lot worse than losing one of them or some of them depending on where the failures are.
Here is a similar thread for your reference:

    Hope this helps!

  • Cannot connect to Oracle 11gR2 database from SQL Server 2005

Both SQL Server (Windows) and Oracle (Linux) are in 64bit environments.
I have done the following on a Windows 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2005:
Install InstantClient from Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Client (11.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows (x64) to C:\Oracle
Install oledb from 64-bit ODAC 11.2 Release 3 (11.2.0.2.1) for Windows x64 by executing install.bat oledb c:\oracle odac
Note: Not sure whether 11.2.0.2.1 version of ODAC will cause any problem since I cannot find 11.2.0.1.0 version.
I have checked the Allow inprocess of OraOLEDB.Oracle provider in SSMS.
    I have executed sp_addlinkedserver @server = 'ORACLE_TEST', @srvproduct = 'Oracle', @provider = 'OraOLEDB.Oracle', @datasrc = '##.##.##.##:1521/TEST'
The ##.##.##.## is the ip address of the Linux server which has the Oracle 11gR2 database TEST.
    I have executed sp_addlinkedsrvlogin @rmtsrvname = 'ORACLE_TEST', @useself = 'FALSE', @rmtuser = 'xxxx', @rmtpassword = 'yyyy'
The xxxx is the oracle username and yyyy is the password for the oracle user xxxx.
I know the oracle database TEST is up since I have setup connection in Oracle SQL Developer having:
    ##.##.##.## as the hostname
    1521 as the Port
    xxxx as the username
    yyyy as the password
    TEST as the service name
When I click Test Connection for the linked server ORACLE_TEST in SSMS, it just hang.
When I issue a query like select count(*) from oracle_test..xxxx.table1, it just run forever. I'm not so sure how to query an oracle table. I have also tried select count(*) from oracle_test.xxxx.xxxx.table1.
When I retype the password in the Linked Server Properties, it just run forever.
Do I need to create a tnsnames.ora on the Windows machine?
Do I need to change the tnsnames.ora on Linux machine?
    I'm very new to Oracle.

This forum is dealing with connections from an Oracle database to SQL Server - so the Oracle database is the driving site and this is the way round from your linked server set up.
As you're suing the instant client you might post your issue in the instant client forum:

  • If we use result_cache_mode=force in oracle 11gr2 database then we don't ..

If we use result_cache_mode=force in oracle 11gr2 database then we don't need QSEl (third party software).
is the result cache feature is work same as qsel.
I am not able to find anything regarding it..please help...
    http://www.qsel4oracle.com/FramePage_files/FramePageData.htm

I don't know anything about QSEL, but can guess that it is some sort of caching solution sitting on Oracle.
Ideally, RESULT_CACHE_MODE should not be set to FORCE, as it will try to cache each and every SQL (and its results for different bind values).
But, if you have reasonably big SGA and within that SGA, if you have reasonably big result cache and you do RESULT_CACHE_MODE=FORCE, then you might not need third party caching solution.
Key question is, how big is reasonably big? that depends on size of data you are dealing with.
Good thing about result caching is, it works for user defined functions as well.
Also, you can enable result caching in certain sessions and disable it in certain session.

  • About listeners for different databases in the same ORACLE_HOME

Hello experts, I have a doubt
I have installed 3 different databases in the same server which OS is Suse Enterprise 10. At this moment I have just one listener that registers all the services. The number of connections are big for two of the three databases so I do not know what might be the best practices for this environment. I have some question I would like you suggestion for me:
    DB version: 11.1.0.7
Should I have three listener, one for each database?
Is a good practice to have only one listener for multiple instances in the same server?
Are there differents between have only one listener for all the instance and have one listener for instance?
    What about the performance?
Than you in advance, I hope you can guide me.

Best practice is not to have multiple databases on one server, depending on resources.
Should I have three listener, one for each database?
No. That is pretty undesirable and requires more administration.
Is a good practice to have only one listener for multiple instances in the same server?
Yes. Remember the listener is only a broker and there are no permanent connections between client, listener and database.
Are there differents between have only one listener for all the instance and have one listener for instance?
Yes. The latter is an administration nightmare.
    What about the performance?
Who cares? The only factors are
listener.log becomes too big --> set up proper cleanup procedures
The number of semaphores is exceeded (Unix) or no more threads can be created (Microsoft winblows), which will give rise to ora-12500.
