Opening of new tab is set to specific website
Hey,
I downloaded some program the other day but removed it again. Yet my browser opens up my new tabs with the URL: http://newtab.certified-toolbar.com/nff/?si=41460&tid=592&new=true
How do I change it back? I've just updated my browser to the latest version and thought that might fix it but it didn't. I've also tried to mail those powering the website above but my mail failed to be delivered. I'm tired of the page - please help. :-)

You click on new tab, a new tab opens, but the tab is opened as the yahoo homepage.
I accidentally downloaded the yahoo toolbar as malware the other day. This toolbar is really imposible to remove. It's not in the sofware add/remove menu, i've tried with several anti-malware sofware, they didn't succeed.
Now, i already made the toolbar invisible, but it still has a place in the firefox menu at the top of the browser, and like i said, it keeps opening itself in a new tab.A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.

Get rid of noise opening a new tab
I have a 2 windows 7 pc. The one at work does not make a annoying sound when I open a tab but my new dell makes the noise. If it has to make a noise I will stop using firefox. Please let me know how to proceed.

When you open a new tab it lists the previous websites down below that you could click on to go to right away.
When you click a new tab there is a settings key on the upper left that if you choose ENHANCED or CLASSIC I believe that is where you get the annoying noise. If you choose Blank then the noise does not sound. -

One of my set of home pages is the basic Google search page. When I open this, I can immediately start typing and the words appear in the Google search box.
If however I open a new tab (white cross far right of tab bar) and start typing, the words appear in the address bar, not in the Google search box. Of course once I click in the search box I can carry on: but I'd like to make it start there as it does with the homepage.If you want a specific webpage (like the Google page) to always open when you open a New Tab, you can use the following add-on to Open New Tabs with your Favorite Pages:

An app changed it to some other search engine, before installing the app, I the tab that would open was the homepage I set.
In my case it is Google, and I want my new tabs to open on Google like they did before the installation.

Whenever I open a new tab, I want the new page to open to the same setting as my Home Page (in my case, Google). Instead it takes me to Bing. Even my Home Page reverts to Bing after I've set it to Google.
The default New Tab in Firefox is a blank page and there is no built-in option to change that.

I often open a new tab and I'd like it to automatically open in Google.com rather than a blank page. Is there a way to make this happen? (I know I can click on the + to open a new tab and then click on the Home icon at the far right of the web address bar but I'd like to have Google open in one click instead of two).

How do I open a new tab at a specific web site
When I open a new tab (in Firefox 5) I want it to opne at my home page (google). I cant seem to make firefox 5 do this, yet it worked fine in Firefox 3. Have a missed a point somewhere?
Do you see that button if you open the Customize window?
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.
