Opening projects in CC 2014.2 created in previous version of premiere cc 2014

Hello,
I just upgraded premiere cc 2014 to premiere cc 2014.2. When I try to open my project created in the last version of cc 2014 I am instructed to convert the project created in the previous version of premiere so it can be opened in premiere cc 2014.2 When I convert the project it will open in cc 2014.2 but the sequences don't come with it. I need to have access to the original sequence so I don't have to edit the project again. Thanks for your help.

Rather than opening directly, try importing the project via the Media Browser Window.
Much more efficient as you'll have more options.

  • Problem opening a converted project from previous version of Premiere CC, in Premiere CC 2014.

Hello. This is the problem. When I try to open with premiere pro CC 2014 a converted and actualized CC 2014 version of a project created previously in a previous version of premiere, the software crash.
Said in other words if it doesn't clear:
    - I created a project in Premiere CC
    - I actualized the project to Premiere CC 2014
    - I worked in the project with the new Premiere CC 2014 for few days and suddenly, I cannot open the project and the software crash.
I hope you understand my problem. Sorry about my english. I'm not native english speaker.
Thanks for your help and support.

  • Can't open project in V8 that was created in V8

I am getting "The project is from a newer version of the program... the project is no longer compatible. Please install newest version." The person who created the project has the same version, version 8. Any help????

Whoever created it has patch 2 applied. You don't. It is a very critical patch and I strongly suggest you apply it. See Opening Projects on my site.

  • Arabic text appearing incorrectly in Photoshop CC when working with PSD created in previous version

Hi. I'm working with PSD files that were originally created in Photoshop CS5 and they contain English text. Now I want to open them with Photoshop CC ME and add Arabic text.
So I've gone to Preferences > Type > clicked the "Middle Eastern and South Asian" radio button
Then from the main menu I selected Type  > Language Options > checked "Middle Eastern Features".
I see the Middle Eastern features in the Paragraph and Character panels. However, if I create a text box and paste in Arabic text - the text is corrupt. The characters are not connected and their appearence is incorrect.
I've double checked that I have right-to-left selected in the Paragraph panel and in the Character panel I have both "Standard Ligatures" and "Contextual Alternates" selected.
When I open a new file in Photoshop CC and paste the same text into a newly created text box - it works fine. The Arabic appears perfect. The issue is only when working in a file that was previously created in an earlier version of Photoshop.
If I move a text box from the new PSD created in CC to the other PSD created in CS5 - all is good. However this work-around is far from Ideal, since I need to work in the existing text boxes.
Does anyone have an idea how to enable proper appearance of Arabic text in Photoshop CC in a file that was created in a previous version?
    Thanks!

  • LV 8.2 Error in opening vi saved with LV 8.5 in previous version

    Hey,
I'm currently using LabVIEW 8.5 at my laptop to program, but at my lab we have LV 8.2. I'm having the following problem:
I save a vi with LV 8.5 in a previous version (8.2), and it sends me a warning wich says:
"Fixed-point numbers are not supported in the previous version of LabVIEW. They have been converted to double precision numbers."
When I try to open it with LV 8.2, it gives me the following messages of error:
    Load Error: "Improper Format".
    Load Error: "Unknown Error".
LabView Generic Error: An error occurred loading "file.vi" . LabView load error code 24: This VI cannot be loaded because it is broken and it has no block diagram.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hello.

  • Latest version of Pages won't open documents created in previous version.

Pages won't open documents created before update.

I got the same issue, here is what it says now: "My document" can’t be opened."
    iOS Mavericks 10.9.2
    Pages 5.1
What I did to get this issue:
    - My file was created a month ago in Pages 5.1
    - Today, I opened the file normally
    - I clicked "duplicate" in order to make a back up from the current version
    - The loading wheel kept running for a few minutes...Maybe my cache memory too busy?
    - so, I "forced to quit" Pages
    - I try to open my doc again in Pages 5.1, now it's a failure!!
    - Then i tried to open on another Macbook with Pages 5.1 = Failure
    - I updated Mavericks latest updates = Failure to open my doc
    - Try to open in pages 4.3 = It says: "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document..."
I need a fix asap, it's terribly important to get my document back

  • How do one add FCP Events and Projects created in previous versions

Just upgraded to OS X Yosemite and FCP X 10.1.4. The files that I saved under a seperate folder (which I named as Unused Events/Projects) did not convert. How do I get those Event and Projects in new Macintosh HD's projects and events?

TThe fiolders have to be in specific locations to be recognized by FCP. They have to be in Final Cut Events and Final Cut Projects either at the root level of a secondary drive or in the Movies folder.

  • Working on a file in CC created in previous versions

I work at a printing company and we get files from hundreds of different clients. Our preflight person that starts every job want to open every job in CC and use CC regardless of what version it was created in. I think this is a bad practice and we should use the version the customer used. If it were created in CS5 on the PC it should be done there not in CC on the mac just because it can. I have seen to many case where things have just not flowed exactly the same when changing versions, platforms, or font types. What are your thoughts on this. If a customer sends a Mac job done using CS5 and Helvetica Type 1 fonts should we be doing it in CC with Helvetica open type fonts?

    You are 100% correct.
It's probably OK to switch platforms if the fonts are all OT or Windows format TT if you can't work with the same OS, but switching versions is a disaster waiting to happen.

  • Firefox 7 will not open in win xp, after being updated from previous version

updated to firefox 7 on win XP. now firefox will not open.
I unstnstalled firefox 7, and re-installed again, but it will not open

I have the same problem (and with Mozilla Thunderbird) running with Windows Vista OS. The non-opening problem was preceded by a long period where Firefox and other programs were taking absurdly long times, such as one minute, to open. Starting Windows in "safe mode with networking" solves the problems. Similarly, I just found that If I run msconfig.exe and select "diagnostic startup" then Firefox and Thunderbird both start and start up really fast (that is, when most services and startup programs are prevented from starting). However there is no network so they do not connect. I then turned on (in msconfig) enough processes to get networking running and Firefox and Thunderbird still start up really fast.
I am fairly certain there are no viruses on my computer, so the only other possibility is that some program/registry-entry is preventing the OS from working properly. The problem with windows that it is virtually impossible to find something like this, since the Windows OS has very weak self-diagnostics, and the registry is absurdly complicated with over half a million entries on my computer.
If you can do a "repair install" then this will probably fix the problem, but I do not think that Vista has this feature. Alternatively an upgrade of the OS might fix it, such as from Vista to Windows 7.

  • Encounters a Problem when creating or opening project

I could only get V1 to work with Admin priviliges, otherwise it threw up the message "Adobe Premiere Elements has encountered a problem & needs to close"
So I have upgraded to V10, but now hit the same block even with users having admin priviledges.
Happens when I try to create a new project (when clicking OK after entering new details) or when trying to open an existing project.
When creating a new project the basic folders and files are created before the error message and crash.
I am using Windows XP SP3 with all latest updates.
So I can do nothing at all with PE10.
    Error code is 0xc0000005
    Flag 0x00000000
    Record 0x000000000000000
    Address 0x00000000196cd0a3
    Any ideas?

Dear A.T., thanks for trying to help. Regarding your questions:
the PC is a single-user machine on a small network. In accordance with Microsofts security recommendations, the working user account does not have administrator priviledges
4Gb RAM of which 2.15Gb unused
    683Gb free space on C:
    Two internal disks, formatted NTFS
    Latest Quicktime installed
Previous version of Premiere Elements was v1
A bit more information on how it fails. Approximately 10 seconds after specifying a new project or giving details for a project to open I see a window informing me that a problem has been encountered and asking if I want to send details to Microsoft. I dont know if this is Adobe or Microsoft generated.  If I click on any option then Premiere Elements disappears and a window declares "MS Visual C++, Runtime Error!, Program c:\program files\A....,   R6030 - CRT not initialised
The Windows event log records "Faulting Adobe Premiere Elements.exe - faulting module display.dll version 6.0.0.0" I found display.dll in c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 10 folder. So an Adobe dll is causing the problem?
So as you recommended, I updated the Intel G35 chipset driver, and that then allowed me to open create new projects and open old ones! Progress!
But, after doing some video editing, when trying to close Premiere Elements, it crashes with the same unexpected problem encountered error and the same C++ error. This time the Windows Event Viewer stated that the faulting file was Ig4dev32.dll - the new G35 chipset driver I had just installed.
So I can now create and work on projects but likely to lose my work unexpectedly!

You cannot open projects in FCP. You need to update your projects and events for the new version. Read about it. Start here

  • Unable to open project file - from one 6.0.2 to another 6.0.3.

    Hi
We're at a time-critical stage of finishing our movie, and we need to get the color-corrected sequence from the post-house to our studio so we can make some picture changes and get it back to them. They can open the project file just fine (it was created in 6.0.2, but they since updated their system to 6.0.3), and we have just updated to 6.0.3 also. Quicktime is 7.4.5 (which matches their version). However, they've FTP'd it to us, and we cannot open it here. FCP gives the error "Unable to open project file". It's not the "older version" message which I've seen before, it just ... fails to open it. Almost as if the file were corrupt. However, the post house can re-download the file from FTP and open it there, so this confuses me. I've also tried the file on a FCP 6.0 system (which I can't update because it's an Avid system locked to a certain version of Quicktime) and the same error message.
Would anyone be willing to test the file and see if they can, at least, open it?
    Many thanks.
    Matt

Have them zip the file... Project files via email often don't open if they aren't zipped..

  • Opening projects from older Premiere versions in CS5.5 ?

    Hello!
I'm trying to help my wife, who's using Premiere Pro CS5.5.
She edited a movie in an old version of Premiere. We have all the files from the project, but no longer have access to the machine she edited on. We are about 95% sure that it was edited on Premiere Pro 2.0 for Windows. (It might have been on a slightly older Windows version).
We've just installed Premiere Pro CS5.5 on her computer. We're having a number of problems importing the file. Some of them we're solving quickly, some of them a little less so. I wanted to check on the forum to check a couple of things:
    1) Just to be sure: Is Premiere Pro CS5.5 for Windows supposed to be able to work with projects from Premiere Pro 2.0? From older versions? Is there an easy way to figure out what version of Premiere the project file was created in?
    2) Is there any sort of FAQ or anything we might consult about issues that typically come up when importing from older versions of Premiere?
We are sort of puzzling though this together. I'm usually the computer problem-solving guy around the house, but I don't know anything about Premiere...
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Yes, Premiere Pro CS5.5 can open projects created in any previous version of Premiere Pro (and version 6.x of Adobe Premiere).
    Great to know!
If you bring specific issues to this forum as they arise, we may be able to help.
Okay. We'll play around a bit on our own, and I'll see if we can summarize problems we can't figure out.
I don't suppose there's any sort of FAQ about common problems in importing from old versions or anything?

  • Adobe reader XI cannot open PDF created with distiller version 9.4.2

    Hello everybody
I need your help with the following problem:
I created a pdf document once with Adobe disitller Version 10.1.0 and once with Version 9.4.2. With Adobe reader Version XI I can only open the pdf document which was created with distiller Version 10.1.0 but with Adobe reader 9 I can open both documents without any problems.Do you have any idea why?
Thank you very much and best regards,
    Iskierka

    Hi Steve,
Sorry, I cannot post a URL to the file because it is for intenal use only.
I noticed that the pdf file can be opened outside of IE browser if I disable the Adobe Reader add-on (active-X) in IE browser. If I enable the Reader add-on, the Reader cannot complete the file download. The progress bar goes in a half way, and stays there.
Just FYI, the pdf file was created by Distiller 7. Do you think it is the issue of Reader add-on? Thanks.
