Opening quicklook with spacebar from Apple Full Keyboard

Hi,
I have a problem with
"Opening quicklook with the spacebar on AppleFullsize keyboard from my local machine"
And yes, I only have that exact problem....
Things that work:
- Opening quicklook with the spacebar from my Macbook's keyboard on my local machine
- Opening quicklook with the spacebar from my Macbook's keyboard on my remotely controlled iMac (controlled via iCloud from my Macbook)
- Closing quicklook with the spacebar from my Macbook's keyboard on my local machine
- Closing quicklook with the spacebar from my Macbook's keyboard on my remotely controlled iMac (controlled via iCloud from my Macbook)
- Opening quicklook with the spacebar from a Logitech External keyboard on my local machine
- Opening quicklook with the spacebar from a Logitech External keyboard on my remotely controlled iMac (controlled via iCloud from my Macbook)
- Closing quicklook with the spacebar from a Logitech External keyboard on my local machine
- Closing quicklook with the spacebar from a Logitech External keyboard on my remotely controlled iMac (controlled via iCloud from my Macbook)
- Opening quicklook with the spacebar from my AppleFullsize keyboard on my remotely controlled iMac (controlled via iCloud from my Macbook)
- Closing quicklook with the spacebar from my AppleFullsize keyboard on my local machine
- Closing quicklook with the spacebar from my AppleFullsize keyboard on my remotely controlled iMac (controlled via iCloud from my Macbook)
Thing that doesn't work:
- Opening quicklook with the spacebar from my AppleFullsize keyboard on my local machine
I thinks this is extremely wierd. (I work in IT for 20 years now... this is not possible)
Somehow OSX only denies Quicklook from a externally attached Apple Keyboard on my Local machine. The function is obviously working as you can see when I try it remotely and with other keyboards.
Anybody who has a clue deserves Cake!
Thanks Already

I know your Quick View post is from last November, but did you ever find a solution? I have the same issue, also using an Apple full size external keyboard on a MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion. Thanks.

    Hey Edgew7,
Thanks for the question. The following resource may provide a solution:
iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5223
    3. Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
    1. Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    2. Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
    3. Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    4. Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

    Thank you!
    p.s.  I'm sorry for my english, I'm italian.... :-)

Proceed with what? You CAN'T merge them.
    This is from that link:
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • Overnight my contact list went from 1492 contacts to 52.. With help from Apple support I retrieved all of my contacts.  Here is the problem, I lost the groups.  None of my contacts are sorted into groups as they used to be which is very important for me.

Overnight my contact list went from 1492 to 52.  With help from Apple I retrieved the missing contacts using Time Machine.  The problems is that the contacts are not in groups as they used to be.  Any suggestions?  I really need them grouped for business reasons.
Also, there are no longer pictures associated with each contact.
thanks for any help anyone can give me getting contacts back into the groups that I had established.  By the way, the group names are still there, but they are all empty.
    thanks,
    Sparky

What Mac do you have, with what version of OS X?

  • How can i speak with someone from apple live chat??

How can i speak with someone from apple live chat??I want to ask something

Yes, that is the key to it.   In North America live chat is available, though I would question the value of it.   It usually takes ten times longer to 'chat' than to talk or even send an eMail.  Why don't you ask your question here; by far the most realistic means of attracting a reasonably accurate answer.

  • Blue Screen of Death from Apple Wireless Keyboard in Windows 7

    Hi all,
Situation: I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installed (boot camp) on my late 2008 MBP. Oftentimes, I'm plugged in to an LED Cinema display and work off of the Apple Wireless Keyboard & Magic Mouse. The Boot Camp partition / Drivers were originally installed from a Snow Leopard DVD. My Apple Software update reports that all my Apple Windows Software is up-to-date.
Problem: Since installing Windows 7 back in May, I've experienced the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) 5 times. Each time has resulted from a key press on my bluetooth keyboard after it had been sitting idle for some time and presumably gone into power save mode. Any key press causes an instantaneous BSOD. It only occurs when I'm running windows and I'm working off my bluetooth keyboard so it's hard to replicate and likewise hard to troubleshoot and determine if a fix has worked.
*Error Details:* Here's some information I've extracted from the BSOD dump files.

I'm experiencing the same problem with the BSODs while using my Apple wireless keyboard (latest model).
I'm running Windows 7 x64 and admit that I bypassed the BootCamp software/driver installation wizard after it complained that my model didn't support installation of the x64 drivers. Its a bit of a gray area, as my system is 64-bit capable and many services and applications run in 64-bit mode without my intervention.
Just curious if Windows 7 x86 users are experiencing these BSODs or is it a coincidence that you all are installing the drivers creatively.

  • Windows 7 Blue Screen of Death from Apple Wireless Keyboard?

I've installed Windows 7 with Boot Camp 3.0 drivers on my Mac mini, and I suppose overall, I'm enjoying it. However, I'm getting a blue screen that seems almost random. Keyword is almost.
I've got my Apple Wireless Keyboard and Mighty Mouse paired, and they're both working well, however, I do believe I am getting some blue screens from my wireless keyboard.
It seems, at random intervals (usually when I haven't touched the keyboard and mouse for awhile) I get an IRQL blue screen and no information about what's exactly causing it. For example, if I'm sitting in the other room listening to music for awhile, and I come back and press the "next" media button on my keyboard, it'll crash and give me the blue screen. However, I've also tried pressing another random button (shift) to "wake" the keyboard if it had fallen asleep, which also results in a blue screen. The blue screens ONLY show up when I give input via the wireless keyboard. Or, if I leave the computer on overnight to download a file or something, the screen will sleep (which it should) then I'll press a button on the keyboard, the screen will stay asleep, and the computer will restart. Which is just a hidden blue screen I'm assuming.
I've tried reinstalling Windows (Clean/fresh install of course), installing/uninstalling drivers, pairing and re-pairing. I've also removed unnecessary/non-Windows 7 drivers that were installed with Boot Camp.
Outside of this blue screen, I am quite impressed with Windows 7. I just can't figure out what's going on. Is there any place I can get a description of what's causing this crash? Does anyone know what's happening or know a solution to this?
Thanks in advance, if you need more details, please ask.

Experiencing exactly the same symptoms, bugcheck/bluescreen only when touching the Apple wireless keyboard after a period of inactivity.
I have an 20" iMac, just upgraded Leopard -> Snow Leopard latest minor version and updated to Boot Camp 3.1 hoping they provided a fix, but the driver at fault (keymagic.sys) doesn't look updated and the issue is still there
Hopefully someone from Apple dev support is reading this, here's all the info I could squeeze from the crash dump:

  • Trouble with keys on apple wireless keyboard and MBP

I have attached my Apple wireless keyboard to my MBP and I want to use it with the onboard screen. It properly synced, and I know it reads the keyboard because the F keys work, and the delete button works, and it even can wake the computer from sleep mode. However the problem is quite simple, the alpha keys do not work. I can turn up my brightness, or volume cycle through my "spaces" on leopard but am still unable to type. I have looked all over for other cases of this and can not find it. Is it possible that the apple wireless MUST be used with an external monitor only? I have not attempted that yet because I have been away from my studio for a few weeks.
If anyone could shed some light on this situation it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You.

The "wireless mouse/keyboard firmware update 1.1" is for the old white plastic wireless mice and keyboards , Sean. Is the one you are trying to use one of these, or is it one of the aluminium ones?
If it is the aluminium one, then the update you might need is Aluminum Keyboard Firmware Update 1.0 - http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/aluminumkeyboardfirmwareupdate10.html
None of the updates should be needed to prevent the sort of problem you report though.
Is this keyboard newly purchased, or one that you have had for a while and that ahs worked in the past? It may simply be defective.
The only other thing I can think of, apart from conflict with a third party keyboard driver or the like, is a corrupted system file of some kind, in which case an "archive and install" of the OS might be needed to fix it I'm afraid.
    Cheers

  • TA24778 issues with pairing an Apple wireless keyboard by bluetooth with iPad Mini

Does anyone have any tips about successfully pairing an Ipad Mini with an Apple Wireless keyboard, please? Apart from changing the batteries on the keyboard, I have had a lot of difficulty in doing it successfully.

Which Apple wireless keyboard are you using?
See this Apple doc -> iOS: Apple Wireless Keyboard compatibility
The original Apple Wireless Keyboard, introduced in 2003, is not compatible:
Apple Wireless Keyboard (2003): Features a white case and uses four AA batteries.
If you're using a compatible keyboard, does it pair with your Mac? Try turning it off and then back on and then pairing it again.

  • Itunes wont open after an update from Apple.

My Itunes was working fine 2 days ago untill there was an update for it, i installed the update and now my itunes wont open. I've uninstalled everything from Apple and reinstalled it but still itunes wont open. Any ideas what to do next please?

Many people have been having the same problems this week because of he update. Someone on the forum mentioned uninstalling "Bonjour". +Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network - Wikipedia.+ If you have never needed it uninstall it. You could also try typing "MSCONFIG" in the Run selection under the accessories folder and un-checking it under the "Services" tab.
I personally have had the same problems. What i did was i un-checked it on the MSCONFIG menu first and then uninstalled Bonjour.
    Hope all this helps

  • IPod touch 3G (iOS 4) & pairing with original white Apple bluetoot keyboard

    Hi,
I'm having trouble pairing my original Apple bluetooth keyboard (plastic white model) with the iPod touch 3G (upgraded to iOS 4). The iPod touch can see the keyboard but it doesn't pair with it. No passcode ever shows up. However, when I press the return key on the keyboard, a dialog box on the iPod touch pops up very quickly with the passcode that I should enter, and then it immediately pops up another dialog box to say it can't pair because wrong passcode was entered.
My iPod touch 3G can pair with my new aluminium Apple bluetooth keyboard though.
Any help with how to pair it with the original white plastic Apple bluetooth keyboard? I haven't been able to find a firmware update for the keyboard. Maybe there is one?
    Thanks!

  • Occasional duplicate characters on iPad from Apple bluetooth keyboard

I'm using an Apple bluetooth keyboard on an iPad mini retina on iOS 7.0.4. Occasionally, but not always, when typing a new line (I think it might be after the keyboard has rested a certain period of time, but certainly not very long), I'll get a double character.
    llike this
    oor this
iit;s always the first character of a sentence,
Iit may be like this as well
Wwhere the first letter is capitalized as it should be, and the second is not.
Any ideas on what would cause this or how to fix it?
    Thanks
    -Joseph

Just to say that I use a Ipad Air 2, iOS 8.1, and a bluetooth keyboard recently purchased from apple and i experience the exact same issues.
And if it looks like something insignificant, a duplicate character here and then, i assure you that is a bit annoying.
I guess there is a sort of trust in keyboard input developed over time by ppl who use it a lot, that one does not expecto to be broken
Cheers, hope there is a fix for it.

  • CR XI R1: viewer can't open report with UFL from COM dll

    Hello all!
I faced the following problem: report which is uses functions from COM dll doesn't works on customer's pc. CRViewer throws exception when calling ViewReport() method. GetLastError() gives just 0 ...
All other reports without functions from COM DLL are working on that PC however. Moreover, reports which uses function from non-COM DLL are also working.
    Versions & environment:
    - Report file is designed in CR11, CR Developer; Product type: Full, Product Version: 11.0.0.895
    - Runtime files on customers pc installed by .msi created from merge modules for Crystal Reports XI RDC Deployments (latest available SP4 for CR XI R1: [crxi_rdc_merge_modules.zip|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/crXI_rdc_merge_modules.zip], as listed on [this|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/additional_downloads/runtime.asp] page)
    - target OS: WindowsXP SP3, all updates are installed
    - i'm using COM crviewer, but there are some points in application where report is opened using CRPE api - it is also crashing on reports with custom functions from COM DLL
    - UFL DLL is registered and loaded correctly (investigated by debug output), looks like crash occured during attemt to call function
    - just for test I tried to install CR Developer on customers PC: it successfully opens all "problem" reports, but the viewer in application still crashing ...
I would appreciate any tips / suggestions. Please also let me know if I need to specify versions of other products / components.
    Thx,
    Andrew

Sorry, but you have to define "viewer just crashed". To different people this means different things; error, viewer never shows up, application terminates, etc., etc., etc....
If the issue is only 10% of computers then it is not
    Re. "...could be caused by:"
    - previous installation of CR8.5 (or earlier) runtime (how to cleanup it correctly?)
    possibly - see below
    - OS configuration (what we need to ajust?)
probably not - as long as it's the same OS and SPs
    - something missing in our code (but why it works in 90% cases?)
    -no
    - something wrong with CRXI runtime (but we a using latest available MSMs, and again, this works in 90% ...)
    possibly see below.
I would approach the issue by running [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] and comparing the dlls loading on a computer that works and one that "crashes"...
Your second utility is [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx] but ProcMon creates large and difficult to read files.
Oh, and get the powers that be to start to consider moving away from this legacy "stuff". Like I said, PE APIs have been gone since version 9 of CR and RDC has been retired in CR XI R2 (11.5). Neither product is supported anymore.

I cannot open the grouped folders into individual layers and manipulate the current design that needs work. How can I get more functionality out of Elements and ungroup these layers?

You could get elements+ which is a very cheap add on.

Try Googling Elements Plus or Elements +
