Opening spesific incoming and outgoing ports for game hosting for instance?

I have tried this for a little while now and can't really figure it out. Seems like you are required to get ip-adresse aswell, but in fact Battle.net for example doesn't have one. I know that it requires to open ports: 6112-6119, 116 and 118, but no specific ip. Please help figure this out! I got to be able to host a game. The game is Warcraft 3; Frozen Throne. If you know the exact answer please answer me at [email protected] I really need help at this.
Thanks!

The IP address required would be the one you assign the device that will be hosting Warcraft 3. This device will be on your local area network (LAN). In order for others on the Internet to access it, you will need set up your router for port forwarding/mapping.
Port forwarding/mapping basically takes two steps:
- Assign a static IP address to a device on your LAN that needs to be accessed from the Internet.
- Open port(s) in your Internet routers firewall.
What is the make & model of your Internet router? ...is it an AirPort or another vendor's product?

        Hi lindapet2!
I would love to assist you with your device settings.  First, provide me some additional details as to what you're experiencing.  Are you referring to an audible alert or is this a pop-up message you see when making and receiving calls?  Please let me know so that I can further assist.  Thanks!

  • HT1430 Pop-up shows name or password is incorrect.   Have changed password on both incoming and outgoing ports, no luck.

Can anyone help?      Cannot receive or send mail, pop-up shows name or password incorrect.   Changed password on both incoming and outgoing, no luck.
Have been at it all day long.     Any suggestions?

Guess what? That's right! I switched on my laptop this morning and the moment I opened Thunderbird I received three emails - one of them informing me that I'd changed my password.
So the problem was clearly at the server end, not mine.
For anybody who is searching the Help Forums looking for help: be aware that you will find many messages like this one and lots of suggestions as to what YOU may have done wrong. The reality is that if you have this specific error message, it is probably a glitch in the system that randomly happens and is fixed, apparently without BT/Yahoo! knowing anything about it.
It IS known about, has been known about for years, and will not be addressed as a problem in the near future.
My recommendation "get a new email address!". If you MUST stay with the btinternet/btopenworld address then get used to the idea that every so often you will not be able to get into your email. Don't panic and don't go changing your settings as this will only confuse the matter when it comes back online - without any warning or advisory.
I say this, not as a rant (although it fills that role as well) but as a genuine suggestion to avoid random problems that you will not be able to fix.
This is the 21st centrury and we still have electronic messaging systems that breakdown randomly and without anybody aparently knowing why, or how to fix it. So much for tomorrow's world, eh?
Bye bye BT/Yahoo! - I'd like to have said "it's been nice", but...

  • Am trying to find my incoming and outgoing servers for my mini apple

I cannot receive or send mail, cannot get the right incoming or outgoing servers

IF your iPad is connecting without issues to the Internet, go to Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars, tap on Add Account, choose Google from the list, type your info (name, email address ending in @gmail.com, password and optional description), tap on Next and the system is pretty good at figuring out the rest.
Only reason I can imagine for this not working is when there are connectivity issues preventing the iPad from reaching Google's servers (which get selected automatically when you choose the Google profile from the list). If this is happening while connected thru your company LAN, check with the Network Admin, as the access to the servers may be curtailed due to security reasons.

  • Incoming and Outgoing servers for Hotmail

    Hi,
I have an N93 and seems to be working well with WLAN and almost everything else. I have been able to configure my ISP's (Verizon) POP3 email servers and it works fine. I have been unable to figure out what the url for my Hotmail email service should be. I have tried "incoming.hotmail.com", etc., with no luck. Anyone have success in configuring a Hotmail email account into their Nokia phone or Communicator? Thanks in advance! Joe

Have you signed up to Hotmails premium service? If not, you cannot access the Hotmail mail servers except for the hotmail website.
If you have the premium service, it tells you what the addresses are for the mail servers in the help section.

  • Will these airport routers track incoming and outgoing port traffic

I am trying to track a virus inside the network. Linksys will identify port traffic on a network. Will these routers do this?

Sorry, but no. The AirPort routers, natively, do NOT log actual data traffic. You would need either a router that supports this from another manufacturer or use a network "sniffer" program to do this.

  • How can I open both UDP and TCP ports

    Hi,
How can i open both tcp and UDP ports for an IP in Cisco ASA?
    Regards
    Ejaz

Are you referring to port opening in Cisco ASA to permit certain traffic? I believe the following document should help.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa82/configuration/guide/acl_overview.html
    Adding a Standard Access List
    hostname(config)# access-list access_list_name standard {deny | permit} {any | ip_address mask}
    Example:
    hostname(config)# access-list OSPF standard permit 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa82/configuration/guide/acl_standard.html
    Adding an Extended Access List
    access-list access_list_name [line line_number] [extended] {deny | permit} protocol source_address mask [operator port] dest_address mask [operator port | icmp_type] [inactive]
    Example:
hostname(config)# access-list ACL_IN extended permit ip any any
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa82/configuration/guide/acl_extended.html
    Hope this will help.

  • Possible to have different ports for incoming and outgoing email?

I need to set up a mail account in Mail where I read incoming mail from port 110, but to send outgoing mail I need to use port 587. Is this possible in Mail? Looks as if you only get to set the port once for both operations.

it is indeed possible. go to mail>preferences>accounts, select the account you already created then go to account information and to outgoing server list, click on the list, go to edit server list and in the advanced pane you can change the outgoing port. for the incoming port, again select the account you already created, then go to advanced, and type in the incoming port.
    hope this helps

  • HT201320 What is incoming and outgoing mail server and server port number

What is incoming and outgoing mail server and server port number

    See applenerd504 previous reply:
These specifications that allow you to send and receive messages on your iPhone. If you are using iCloud Mail, Gmail, or another service listed in the selector in settings, they should be automatically configured. If not, you may need to look up certain numbers for your email service.
Putting it in slightly different terms:
If you are using a web-mail system like gmail (with a gmail email address) all the mail sending, receiving and management is done on Google servers. In these cases you will only need to have a working internet connection to be able to log in to the service to access its data.
Supplying mail sever names and port numbers should only be needed if you are using a traditional (non-web) email account where you are accessing the mail servers directly. This would be typical for a email account set up by someone like your ISP (Internet Service Provider), in these cases you will have to ask them for the appropriate settings.

    Hi,
Thanks for your response. I tried doing as you suggested. In Bank Transfer I reduced the Total amount by the sum of the bank charge ($20), and then I selected the bank expense account in G/L Account under Cash, and entered the sum $20. Now the Overall Amount equals the amount of the invoice being paid.
However as I entered the bank charges account I got the following message:
A cash account is required. Choosing a different account may cause inaccuracies in the cash flow report
Can you tell me if I can ignore this?
    Many thanks,

  • Dashboard scales for Incoming and Outgoing

Is it possible to make scales for Incoming and Outgoing messages the same?
Now it looks unnatural. See the picture: outgoing messages seems less than incoming (which is, of course, is not the case).
Understood, there are several metrics on one graph (counters, sizes, etc.). But it is really confusing if incoming and outgoing message counters in queue have different scales. (BTW It is not related to the error messages).
