Opening template from external path

Hi, I am learning how to use document templates in CRM. I use web services and the 'template designer' to design the templates. Is it possible to save the templates to a file system outside the SAP/CRM? (And then retrieve the template from the file system when the user wants to display the template?)

The reason for wanting to take it out of the forum is because ultimately, I want to find a consultant I can pay to help me cut to the chase more quickly in deciding on an efficient design. We would also be open to paying for development if this is the direction we go. I think this will necessitate conversations by phone and probably remote computer access. Document assembly is a pretty heavy subject to try to cover in a chat box. This is not the same as creating simple PDF forms. We already have robust document assembly in place, and we want to extend its capabilities to integrate with existing PDF forms.

Creating User Acct's in Open Directory from External Source

I am trying to find a way to automate the creation of user accounts in OpenDirectory. I have a MS SQL database that has the usernames and passwords in it now, and I'm looking to export those out of there and have an automatic way to create matching accounts in the OpenDirectory service on OSX Server.

It's unfortunate that there's no better way to do this. We're using ssh with a pre-shared key to our Open Directory server to run a script which runs dsimport to create the accounts on the Open Directory.
This works fine for importing/creating accounts, but it doesn't help us change passwords that we are pushing down to Open Directory from our metadirectory solution.
Here's the python we use to generate the dsimport entries:

We've been trying to use kadmin to change passwords, but it seems flaky, with occasional 'policy reject' complaints breaking the sync.

Acrobat Reader XI fail to open file from unc path "Access Denied"

Hi,
When we try to open a pdf file from an unc path by double-click on it there is an error message : "There was error opening this files. Access Denied"
If we do "File -> Open" the file open correctly. Same if we copy the file localy.
After looking around Internet and other thread Acrobat Reader X got the same problem but seemed to be resolved with an update.
If we desable "Enable Protected Mode at startup" the file open correctly (it is not a solution).
Does anyone have a solution to this problem ?

I have also seen this occur with one user's computer. Another user with similar privileges and software setup does not exhibit the same issue however. Would love Adobe to investigate and address this issue.

(Big) iPhoto Library opening empty from external drive

I need help! I have a new 2014 MacBook running Yosemite, as well as an older MacBookPro. I copied my large iPhoto Library from old laptop (labeled old library "iPhoto Pics 2008-2014", or similar) onto an external drive so that I could access all my photos on this new laptop in iPhoto. I have been holding the "option" key and then opening iPhoto & choosing this 2008-2014 Library to open, and it has been working great. All my 6 yrs worth of pictures immediately populate iPhoto just like it did on my old laptop. HOWEVER, my external drive was accidentally unplugged yesterday without properly "ejecting" it, and it gave me a warning/error message saying something like "your external drive was improperly disconnected". The next time I went to open iPhoto, choosing my 2008-2014 library, it said (something along these lines...) that I had to update the format of the library I was trying to open and it might take a few hours. I had received this message (or similar one) the 1st time I opened this library in my new laptop iPhoto app and so I said yes, for it to fix it. However, it didn't seem to do it properly this time and ended up closing itself. When I tried to open it again, it said some other errors needed to be fixed and I said yes again. Sorry, these details are a bit fuzzy about what went wrong & what messages I got...I just know something didn't seem right as my laptop wouldn't let me close iPhoto and I ended up having to do a force quit to shut down my laptop and reboot.
So now when I rebooted, and I click "option" and open iPhoto, I am able to choose my normal 2008-2014 Library, but it opens with the basic "To get started with iPhoto, do 1 of the following 3 things...", with NO PHOTOS or VIDEOS showing up at all in events, places, albums, etc. It looks just like a brand new Library. However, when I look in Finder and find my 2008-2014 iPhoto Library file, it says the size of it is 171.72 GB, which I think is large and would indicate photos are still in there? These are ALL My photos from the last 6 years. I have most of them still saved on my old laptop (everything before getting my new laptop Nov 20th), just don't have pics I've downloaded to that Library on the external drive between Nov 20th and now. Can anyone help me figure out why iPhoto is opening up an empty library when it should have 6 yrs wroth of pics in it? Did I accidentally erase all the photos in my Library on my external drive??? Thanks guys. I did what you said and am about to choose option #4. I cannot really back up this drive before starting rebuild as I don't have a backup of this library exactly, but it is a copy of my entire iLibrary off my old laptop, which I copied over on Nov 20th, so I should have a complete copy of this Library though 11/20 date on my old laptop. I will just potentially lose any photos I've taken and downloaded to external drive since then (luckily not many or any since I haven't downloaded my SLR camera since Dec 5th, so all pics are still on my camera). One last question...is it worth doing the rebuild, or would be be safer (long term...this external library on this drive will be my primary source of ALL my 2008-2014 photos) to just copy over my original library again from my old laptop to this drive?
One additional question though...I just came back to my computer after being away from it for 30 minutes, and again got the "you improperly disconnected your external drive" message. However, my drive is still plugged in and I did not touch it!! So it is disconnecting itself somehow. Any advice on why it's doing this or how to get it to stop? Is it because my computer went to "sleep" or something? Should I not leave my external drive plugged in? Seems like a pain if that is the case as I need to access these pics on my drive often and don't want to be constantly plugging in and then ejecting my drive all the time to keep it safe.

Can't open template from BPF

When You create a new Appset from AppShell Appset, all of new Appset data will be same with Appshell configuration. I think that if your configuration different from Appshell, you could delete BPC template because its can not run smoothly and never appear troubles in your appset.
For your case: Please you check up your user security through BPC Administration Console, maybe you could not have a right privileges.

To access template from webapp path using velocity

i have 5 velocity template files(template1.vm files, etc..) in webapp path (for eg. com/abc/ab)
when i placed those templates in system specific path, i couls access those files using the below syntax..

I realize how old this question is, but it is relevant to my interests.
First: SAP does not seem to allow the nuSOAP proxy method:

You have to instead use nuSOAP's SOAP client call method:

I'm having trouble passing in parameters though. I'm consistently getting an error that I'm not passing in a certain parameter, when I certainly am. I have success using PHP's SOAP extension, but that option is not available to me at this time. As of now, nuSOAP is my only option with the current web hosting server I'm working with, and passing parameters does not seem to be as simple as with the built in php SOAP extension.

How do you use templates from external hdd? (without copying them over)

When I installed DVD Studio Pro 4, I had to install the Templates, Styles, Transitions, etc... into an external for lack of space in my MBP. Now comes the time when I need to use those templates, so how do I access them without having to reimport them? Importing them copies the template files over from the external to the internal and I can't afford the space.

How did you install them onto an external? If you did it via the FCS installer, then DVDSP should automatically link to them. If you just copied them over, it would probably be easiest to jus reinstall from the original discs, this time telling it to put the additional content on your external.

For whatever reason, it does not work most of the time. The Form1 window is blank, although sometimes, it contains the pdf. I have been trying to deal with that, but I have a more important question, first. Even if I get it working correctly, will it work on computers where end-users only have Acrobat Reader? If not, I need to look for another way. If it will work, I need to keep debugging (so does anyone have any suggestions)?

Open a pdf file from a path with GetFileFromPathAsync

Hi, I'm trying open docxs and pdfs files from her path on Windows Phone 8.1. I could achieve this with images with the next line:

I have addressed a similar issue in this
forum post. You need to add the File Type Associations for the file types your app needs to access. This is required when accessing files from DocumentsLibrary and RemovableDevices.

The problem is encountered when we try to open the file from external vendor.

We are using Adobe illustrator CS3 with Patch 13.0.2. in MAC PC with OS 10.4.11. We tried to open the file generated from external vendor. This file is made by CS4/CS5 & downgraded to CS3 because we are using different version of CS package.
When we try to open such as file. It takes some time to open it. But after a while, the application illustrator has unexpectedly quit & crash report is generated. Any expert can help to look at the problem.

Just a bad file.
No telling what specifically may be the issue without seeing the original file as compaired to the CS3 file.

"Access Denied" opening PDF from network UNC path.

Can't open pdf file from network path when opening from Adobe Reader any versions. Opening other files such as word, excel etc that is not opening in Adobe Reader works just fine.
Steps to reproduce bug:
Create a shared folder with three folder deep. \\Servername\SharedDrive\FolderLevel1\FolderLevel2\FolderLevel3\
Give user explicit access to "FolderLevel3" with read and execute rights
Enabled "Protected Mode at StartUp" on Adobe Reader X or XI
Make sure there are some PDF files in FolderLevel3
On the user windows session "do not map the share drive", open explorer to "\\Servername\SharedDrive\FolderLevel1\FolderLevel2\FolderLevel3\" directly.
Double click the PDF files in the folder and it will be blocked with an error Access Denied.
Turn off Protected Mode at StartUp and it load fine
Map the location to a Drive Letter and it load fine
Use Adobe Professional and it works fine
Use Nuance PDF reader and it works fine
Not the ideal solution but if we gave users access to read at "SharedDrive" folder, FolderLevel1 and FolderLevel2 then they are able to read the PDF file. We would rather NOT DO THIS. They are blocked from the lower level for a reason......
Results:
Expected results: If it works on PRO it should work on Reader...

1) Adobe Reader version on your machine.
2) OS you are using.
3) Is your machine or the shared drive a part of any special file system like DFS etc.
4) Is the user a normal admin/standard user or a special user with roaming profile and folder redirections?

Opening Word document templates from the New Document drop down does not open Word

I have a document library with a number of Content Types attached to it. Each one has a different Word document attached. We have an intermittent problem where when you click to open one of these templates from the 'New Document' drop
down list that nothing happens. The workaround appears to be either open Word first or re-boot the computer. I think there is a problem with SharePoint not linking in with Word correctly. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Can you please check in your internet explorer whether MS office Add ons enable or not.
If not enable that and restart your browser and try again.
Also try to repair MS Office if issue still persist.
