Opening zip fils and running
hi can anyone please explain (in simple terms) how to open and run zip files. recently got some snes roms via rapidshare that were zips files but i cannot get them to open tried down dowloading the zip app from the extra repos. but nothing shows up after installing and when trying to open the files it still asks.. to open with..... oh btw my device is n900
Okay, guys, here it goes. In my opinion, the easiest way to upload roms to your phone is to simply unzip / unrar them under windows or whatever OS you use and then to copy / move them to the phone. On the other hand, if you still wish to unzip them under Maemo, I have these 2 applications installed - "Unzip add-on for the File Manager" and "zip" and I am able to unzip archives (not sure which one of these 2 does the trick, but I have them both installed and at least one of them works ). You can download either snes roms or sega genesis / megadrive roms, it doesnt really matter since both the snes and the genesis emulators work great. It all depends on which game you would like to play (some snes games are not available for sega genesis and vice versa e.g. Shadow Dancer). Anyway, the best option you guys have is to simply download the already unzipped roms and just copy / move them to the phone, but have in mind that there are some archives containing all the different versions of each game (like European , USA , Asian) and you dont really need to have them all, since such archives will take couple of gigabytes from your storage. Well, I hope this info will help ya

Error on installation of BC4J-OC4J zip file and running BC4J.html
Hi a little help please
I'm trying to install and configure BC4J-OC4J from the zip file
after trying run the BC4J/JSP apps on just about every webserver
known, this is getting close to my last attempt before I admit
defeat and go back to Microsoft and ASP which may not be pretty
but does work and if it stopes me banging my head on the desk is
well worth the expense anyway ....
I've run the self installer for the runtime etc and all seems
well until I run the BC4J.html file and the left pane of the
website produces this error
I don't really want to waste anymore time tring to deploy a
BC4J/JSP app if the server setup is not set

How to download and open zip file
Download cannot be done
Hi ratan45,
Does your device support the file type? There are some zip tools in the Google play store that would be helpful with unzipping.
However if it cannot download please try this:
#[http://www.vbaccelerator.com/home/VB/Code/vbMedia/Audio/Lossless_WAV_Compression/Sample_APE_File.asp] click on the sample zip file
# go to about:downloads and click on the file
# Select a app that can open zip files on your device (please find one on Google play if you do not have one)
Do you have an example url where this is not happening? -
Ive gotten a zip file and i have no idea how to open it and view images
ive gotten a zip file and i have no idea how to open it and view images?
Double-click it in the Finder.

JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 on OEL 5 can't open jar files and dies
I have just installed JDeveloper on a OEL 5 VM, and when I try to open or create a basic application I get a series of errors claiming that that java could not open jar files, which ultimately ends in the app dying, claiming that it has too many open files. The failures below were generated using the wizard to create a brand new "Java Desktop Application (ADF)" application. I used all default values on installation, including the bundled Java SDK. I am trying to familiarize myself with JDeveloper in preparation for a new development project, and would like to use Oracle technology since Pillar is now a part of Oracle. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I open zip files on MacBook Pro?
I've been trying to open .zip files, but when I do, I get a .exe file instead, and I can't open that either, when I do I get a text file with a bunch of random symbols and letters.
.zip is a compressed file of the original, in this case a .exe file which only runs on Windows machines.
Opening it in text edit just allows you to see the code of the program.
So basically throw it away, it's worthless on your Mac. -
How to open Zip Files in N900 ?
Hi Guys,
I wanted to know how to open Zip files in N900 ? is there a App available for it or what ?
Thanksif you have rootsh installed, open up xterm and run these commands
root
apt-get install unzip-fm
apt-get install unrar-fm
as in the link from aspergerguy, you need the extra catalogs installed.
once you have them installed you just need to click on the zipped file then it will unzip it to a folder of the same name -
Problem opening .zip files
I often have difficulty opening .zip files. I received one today. I know the content is images, it is 683MB, and when I click 'open with' the only opton is Photoshop CS5. However, I then get an error message saying Photoshop cannot open this type of file. I have stuffit expander, but that also results in an error message. I know sometimes archive utility (I think that's the name?) will open a zip file, but not in this case.
Is there a reliable app to that can be used? Any other suggestions?
JBIf you want to relocate the Archive Utility to its usual location it resides at,
Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices
When moving it you will need to authorise the move with your Admin password. After that, running Repair Permissions would be a worthwhile thing as well.
If don't wnat to move it that's OK too, as it works for you, but if you want to be fussy, that's where it lives. -
Weblogic EAR deployment - "error in opening zip file"
Dear All,
we build EAR using MAVEN 3.0.4 on Unix and are trying to deploy the application. The weblogic version is 10.3.4.
We get the following error.

Obviously, the WAR file cannot be opened by Weblogic, but why and how to solve it ... have no clue. We went through almost everything in Internet, regarding this issue, but we couldn't find a solution.
Every idea or suggestion is more than welcome because I'm running out of ideas :(Did you perhaps do something like FTP the EAR file to the RedHat box in text mode or something? Can you check that the file size of the file on RedHat is the same as it was on Windows?

I am tring to run my Servlet with myWAR.war. So I started first installing the CookieCounter example that came with weblogic, I did exactly as the document said but I getting the following exception:

Has anybody encountered the problem before I created the jar using jar cvf cookieWar.war cookie- under the command line
I have seen problems like this in the past. When you create your war file, try using "jar
cv0f" so that the jar file won't be compressed...

PostScript request output is askng to save or open .zip file not .ps file
Hello,
I have created a new simple customized report for PostScript testing, but once I run the request and view the output. It asks to save or open .zip file.
Any Idea? Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
I have created a new simple customized report for PostScript testing, but once I run the request and view the output. It asks to save or open .zip file. How did you create the report? Please mention the steps.
Is this a concurrent program? If yes, what if you download the output file from the server and open it on the client machine?
Thanks,

Everytime it fails. I can't open zip files. Does anyone know why. I have my settings to allow all files when downloading something. When I go to download and it is complete it gives a setup exe. then I click on it and it does nothing.....
Plesae help...Starting to drive me nuts!Hi Booher,
Zip files are cross platform. Doesn't matter if it's an a PC or a Mac. Either can open or create them. But .exe files are Windows only. An .exe is an application compiled for MS DOS or Windows, as are .com files. They won't work at all on a Mac without running them in a Windows environment such as Virtual PC.
The only exception is if the .exe is a self extracting archive created on a PC. That is, a .zip file converted to an .exe so if the person the compressed files are sent to doesn't have a way to open a .zip file, it will run as a program to do the same thing. These, OS X can open and extract as if it were still a .zip file.
You mention that one of the .zip files extracted its contents as a file named setup.exe. This will not work directly in the Mac OS in any way, as it is a Windows application/program. -
I can't open zipped files that have been sent to me. I have found the files I saved in Archive Utility and when I try to open them a dialogue box says the default app is BOMArchive Helper. If I click that something I cant read flashes on the screen but nothing opens. If I try to open with Word a dialogue asks what I want to open with giving options such as MS-DOS Text, RTF,HTML document etc. If I click on these a word document opens full of gooble de gook
Ah! Different situation. I just noticed that you're running Tiger and posted to the Snow Leopard forums. If you're running Tiger, then you might be right, but since I haven't used it for almost four years, all I can suggest is that you post to the appropriate forums: http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=177

I have Mac Book Pro running OS X 10.9.2. In either Google or Safari, Adobe will not open zip files saying they are not supported or the file is damaged. Have checked the plugins on Google and enabled Flashplayer and reader. I have managed the website settings on Safari to enable Adobe Reader. Quicktime is up to date.
All suggestions will be gratefully received.
Many thanks in advance.Select a .zip file, select "Get Info" from the Finder menu and change the setting for zip files to always open in "Archive Utility.app":
After you select that default application, make certain that you select "Change All."
