OpenScript v9.1 HTTP Playback Proxy Settings

Hi All,
I was trying to set OpenScript Preferences HTTP Playback proxy settings.
However, settings I've entered, clicked APPLY then OK, are being saved.
When I open/view the same preferences again (eg immediately after entering them) all details are gone!
This happened on 2 different machines: WinXP Pro & Win 2003 Server R2.
Anyone else seen/have this problem?
Any way to set them (as a workaround) in the script?
Checking back in v9.0 the Proxy setting are saved successfully, so I'm thinking this has occurred on the v90->v91 upgrade.
Thanks & Regards,
Neil

I've just checked this for a related record error on 9.1 - the browser on recordscript defaults to localhost port 7777 rather than what I need or set
But following your example I see the same effect on the Playback settings
All the files written to have full access for read / write - one thing I've noticed is clicking the apply button does not behave in the usual manner - almost if the changes are not been commited.
Another thing if you open the oracle.oats.scripting.modules.http.proxyRecorder.prefs doesnt appear to contain full setting details
Your also probaly aware that the default view in preferences is filtered and masking a Network Connections under General

• Enable/Workaround Exchange Proxy Settings for iPhone

I have an iPhone (1G) and I have it correctly setup to use my enterprise network and Exchange Server.
The problem is that outside my corporate network I'm not able to use the same settings, because outside of the network I need an "Exchange Proxy Setting"; Outlook provides this option and it works:
Account Settings -> Exchange account properties -> Connection tab -> Outlook Anywhere -> Enable Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP -> Exchange Proxy Settings... -> Configure your Proxy server -> Ok
I can't find a way to configure this same proxy on the iPhone. I don't want to use it as a SMTP/IMAP account, first of all because I'm not allowed to do it and second because I want to use Exchange server.
Is there a way to enable/workaround this configuration on the iPhone so I can connect to my corporate Exchange server from "anywhere" ?
Thanks!

same for me, I need the exchange client to behave like the outlook client, allowing for 2 possibilities: one way to connect to the server over the intranet (different server name, and not over http because that would go out straight through the http proxy and get lost in the internet), and an alternative when I'm not on the intranet, but anywhere else via the internet - here http access works just great
not sure if apple is serious about the enterprise market, this and other "small" issues make me rather believe not (yet)...
keeping my fingers crossed, but add this to the push mode/battery problem, and my iPhone is only so far from ebay

• BizTalk published WCF service throwing HTTP 404 error using ISA reverse proxy settings

I have published my schemas as a WCF service from BizTalk 2010 "Publish WCF Service" wizard. I used Wcf-basicHTTP adapter in receive port. I am able to run the service successfully on localhost IIS and I tested my biztalk solution by sending request using SOAP UI and got response successfully.... Now: Actually, I need to give this service endpoint to my vendor who will send request from outside my company's network i.e. internet. In my infrastrucrue BizTalk is behind the firewall so, we setup a REVERSE proxy server at DMZ layer and it is configured properly. I have tested a simple WCF service by replacing the localhost with Proxy server configured address <DNSName> and it worked absolutely fine. But when I change localhost in my BizTalk schema based published WCF service it is not working and I am getting following error. Really strugling to get it resolved. I wasted a whole 3 days....very upset. Please help me out by giving the detailed step solution. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. Requested URL: /BizTalkServiceInstance/MyService.svc I am surprized why other c# code based WCF services are working fine with reverse proxy settings. Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. Is there any special things to consider Biztalk exposed wcf servcie over ssl in IIS cluster with ISA

Hi Singam :)
First I would start by browsing any other files (files other than the one from WCF) just to ensure that the reverse-proxy’s redirection rules are set correctly. If you get the same 404 error when you try to access other service/files “through reverse-proxy”,
then it’s an issue in the redirection rule(s) in reverse-proxy.
If others are fine i.e. no issue in reverse-proxy setup as such, then try the following for WCF service's web.config file. I have seen this issue in WCF service (not just BizTalk’s artifacts exposed as service in reverse-proxy). Add serviceHostingEnvironment
config as show with in serviceModel section.
<system.serviceModel>
<serviceHostingEnvironment aspNetCompatibilityEnabled="true" multipleSiteBindingsEnabled="true" />
</system.serviceModel>

• Web service client ignores http proxy settings

I have a web service client using Weblogic's web service client library. I'm trying to instruct it to use a http proxy. I've set all the following system properties:
-Dhttp.proxyHost=127.0.0.1
-Dhttp.proxyPort=8080 -Dweblogic.webservice.transport.http.proxy.host=127.0.0.1 -Dweblogic.webservice.transport.http.proxy.port=8080
No traffic is passing through the proxy.
When the proxy is down, the application works fine too. I suspect that the proxy settings are completely ignored for some reason.
I'm using Weblogic 8.1 SP4 on a Windows XP box and JDK 1.4.2 (Sun's bundled JDK with Weblogic).

Sorry about the delay,
You just need to use the standard java http proxy properties, take a look at:
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97329_03/web.902/a95453/useservices.htm
Does this help?

• What HTTP Proxy settings to use and when?

On the Wi-Fi Networks menu there are three options for HTTP Proxy - Off, Manual, Auto
Which one should I use and when/why would I use the others?
thx, gordo

99% of the time, you should have the proxy settings turned off. Unless you are trying to connect to a corporate network, or some other network that requires a proxy server. In that case you would need to talk to the network administrators to obtain the settings you would need. If your just connecting to your wireless network at home, your almost for sure not going to need to enter anything for the proxy server settings.

• HTTP Adaptor for RESTful service calls -- Proxy Settings?

Hi Guys,
I have successfully configured an HTTP Adaptor on my Access Server, imported a REST service function, set up DTDs etc etc all ok.
Now, when it comes to calling this function in a data-flow, the run of the job just times out while calling the function. I have tried this via another route and this time-out occured their too until I entered my proxy server login details.
I am assuming I need to do this for the HTTP Adaptor but there is no parameter/setting around for me to do this.
Could you please tell me how I can get my proxy settings in place for the HTTP call? If the solution involves the "axis2" file, please could you give me clear/step-by-step instructions on how to use this and deploy it as that area is all new to me.
Thanks very much for any help.
Flip.

you can set the proxy server details in the Additional JVM Arguments of the HTTP Adapter Configuration using the following syntax. Add this to existing memory setting args
-Dhttp.proxyHost=<enter proxyserver name> -Dhttp.proxyPort=<enter proxy port>
have no idea how to specify the credentials, not sure if that can be done using Java arguments, if you are on windows try running the Jobservice under named user, and see if it works

• HTTP Proxy settings for WIFI

I am trying to access the wifi at work which requires me to use a http proxy.
I can connect to the network in my company from my PC without any issues by giving the url in the lan settings
When I open the browser it asks for the user id and password and once I authenticate it allows me internet access
However I am having trouble mapping this into the iphone I realise I have two options i.e manual and auto
Can someone help me map these settings or direct me to a forum where some has done this successfully
Thanks.

Your post is not going to be seen by the Apple Engineers. This is a users forum. You should contact Apple Technical Services directly.
There is a new version of Apple Configuration Utility that just came out in the last two weeks. Manually setting the proxy settings isn't really very hard to do so I'm not sure what the concern is.

• Is there a way to define https proxy settings

Other than system property setting, using jsse is there a way to define proxy settings. I am using Https connectivity.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not too sure I can follow your question. jsse is an extension used for j2se (included from 1.4.2 and up) and therefor has nothing to do with the Java EE SDK.
But to answer your question a little: just use the java.net.Proxy class. The moment when you need to use https you can then use URL.openConnection() which can optionally take a proxy class as argument. So, for example:
Proxy proxy = new Proxy(Proxy.Type.HTTP, new INetSocketAddress("proxy.intranet.lan", 3128));
URL site = new URL("https://sunsolve.sun.com");
HttpsURLConnection wcon = (HttpsURLConnection) site.openConnection(proxy); And then you can do with the connection object whatever you want, it'll fully utilize the proxy. For more information on this I suggest to check up on the API documentation.

• HTTPS Proxy Settings

Hello,
I'm trying to connect to a HTTPS URL through a proxy.
Everything works fine if I set the https.proxy and https.port properties:
System.setProperty("https.proxyHost", "proxy.ieci.geci");
System.setProperty("https.proxyPort", "8080"); or if I set the JVM settings
-Dhttps.proxyHost=proxy.ieci.geci
-Dhttps.proxyPort=8080But I would like not to set this system properties, because all the applications over this JVM will run with this settings. I would like to do in a different way, but I don't know how.
I have tried with the next URL constructor, but it doesn't work.
URL url = new URL("https", "proxy.ieci.geci", 8080, "https://apuc.cert.fnmt.es:443/TimeStamp/TimeStampServer");
Please, help me.
Thanks in advance

Hello again,
With a JVM 1.5, I get it through the java.net.Proxy Class. But I'm using the JVM 1.4 so it is not a solution for me the class java.net.Proxy. Any idea?
Thanks !!

• E75 HTTP/ HTTPS proxy settings

Q: Why can't I browse the web even though
the WLAN connection is working and the IP
settings are correct?
A: Check that you have defined the HTTP/ HTTPS proxy
settings correctly in the advanced settings of your
WLAN access point.
But how and where !
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Its not VPN, cause yes VPN is a different ballgame.
On page 162 of the manual it tells you to check proxy settings, but does not give steps how and where, which is what i need.
Question 2: if one needs access to another machine in the same network, you normaly don't want to go through the proxy when browsing http. (hence you exlude them)
Thanks for the effort.

• Firefox suddenly stopped opening webpages, while other browser work properly. I checked Proxy settings and everything that is mentioned in the central help page, but still no solution found...

In addition, i tried to re-install Firefox many times, without a result. In the time these lines are written, I am using Google Chrome to surf the web.
Neither proxy settings, nor the true/false ipV6 values helped.
The '''"symptoms"''' are as following:
--> The programm itself starts correctly, at usual speed, with no crashes or error messages to pop-up.
--> No page is displayed, neither the home page, nor any other one. I only see a blank white page.
-->The name of the starting tab, as of any other new tab I try to open is "(Untitled)"
-->There is no probability of errors in the Internet Line, because I am using it right now, running Chrome.
-->The full scan results are totally clean, using Panda Internet Security 2011, activated and updated.
-->The Error Console shows the following messages:

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile]]

• How can I have proxy settings stay for multiple users on an educational network?

Hi,
I want to be able to have mutlple users log onto machines and haave proxy settings already set in preferences. I have tried by copying the Mozilla folder in to the All users location and does not help.
Each user logs onto a computer with a mandatory or Roaming account depending on account security. Settings for firefox are picked up from their Documents and settings folder when they log on (It is created when they log on for the first time)
Is there a way to pull across proxy settings for a new user? Ussually it would be a case of just sticking it in All Users.
Thanks

A possibility is to create a file user.js and place that file in the default template location (defaults\pref) in the Firefox program folder.
If you don't want users to change the proxy (connection) settings then you can also lock the prefs or set a different default value.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
You can use these calls in mozilla.cfg to set or lock a pref:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

• How to make proxy settings in solaris 10 i386

Dear Sir,
I need your help in making proxy settings in solaris 10 x86, as well as on SPARC.
i installed on virtual machine, and later i wanted to do the same on M4000 server. please help.
Why I need to set proxy?
I am on a co-orporate network, and it requires proxy to use internet to download packages for sun directly from sun machine.
What package I want to download?
I want to dowload CUPS to configure LINE PRINTER(ALIS5180).
What did i do to configure line printer?
1, i installed sun solaris 10 on a dell server to make it as a "print server"
2, with the print manager I configure "alis5180"
3, give the print command to test the printing.
4, I did not got success, coz it is not printing the document i want, it is printing junk.
5, i clear the cache of alis5180 printer.
6, reset all the emulations ANSI, IBM Proprinter III XL, Epson FX-1180, Printronix® P600 & P 5000/6000, DEC® LG01, HP 2564C, Tally line/dot matrix printer, Epson FX 1180,
MTPL, contextual arabic, Twinax (IBM 4234/4210/5225)/Coax(IBM4234), HP LineJet HPLP Series, HP 256X no success.
Conclusion:-
This is why I want to configure cups. and I need internet access on the print server to download the this package, and it require internet connection.

Mky

You could try the Dell site, but I doublt if they will have a driver for Solaris, Linux maybe but not Solaris. Otherwise try the DriverGuide web site. http://www.driverguide.com/
You could also try installing OpenSolaris if you don't specifically need Solaris 10. Better chance that OpenSolaris will support the NIC.

• How to access proxy settings in terminal

I want to use git in the terminal, but unfortunately I'm sometimes (but not always) behind a firewall that requires me to use a proxy server.
I've successfully set up environments for all these locations, including the proxy settings that are relevant in each context, but I'm unable to access them in the terminal (i.e. there's no HTTP_PROXY environment variable). My idea is to 'inherit' the system wide proxy settings in the terminal and use them to configure git.
Is there any way to access the proxy settings in the terminal.

In you home directory, create a file called .bash_profile (notice the leading dot)
nano .bash_profile
add to that file
export HTTP_PROXY="http://your.proxy.information:nnn"
Save the file
Restart the Terminal session.
Command line Git should work via the environment variable you just created.
NOTE: you will need to use
ls -a
to see the .bash_profile in a Terminal session, and because the leading dot makes it an invisible file, the Finder will not show it without some magic Finder Foo
