OpenSSL-devel
Hi,
I would like to install Torque Jobs Manager. But configure gives an error:
configure: error: TORQUE needs lib openssl-devel in order to build
I tried to look up openssl-devel, but couldn't find anything useful for Mac
Also I heard that Apple depreciated OpenSSL in 10.7 to move to Common Crypto.
So is it currently possible to get this package?
Cheers.
I am on 10.8 and would like to make it a server and also a client, so that I can submit jobs in parallel on this machine alone since it has multiple cores.
To etresoft, I tried reinstalling openssl from source, but it didn't help.
I think Torque needs the developement package which I am not aware of where to find.

Trouble adding regular oracle oci8 support to RPM, CentOs 5
Hello,
It seems that i'm missing smth simple while trying to add oci8 support to RPM.
I took Christopher Jones's SRPM for 5.2.3 as a base, but since i don't have and don't need a support for instant client i modified latest available 5.1.6 SRPM from CentOS 5 repo.

%description
PHP is an HTML-embedded scripting language. PHP attempts to make it
easy for developers to write dynamically generated webpages. PHP also
offers built-in database integration for several commercial and
non-commercial database management systems, so writing a
database-enabled webpage with PHP is fairly simple. The most common
use of PHP coding is probably as a replacement for CGI scripts.
The php package contains the module which adds support for the PHP
language to Apache HTTP Server.

Regards,
Achutha -
Problem Description: adrelink failed on ENCACN and WICMEX with:
bin/sh: g++: command not found
make: *** [d01/oracle/debsappl/wip/11.5.0/bin/WICMEX] Error 127
we found that there was no g++ on the /usr/bin directory of the servers. We asked the os admin to rename g++323 as g++. aftewr he did, the error is the following:
ld: crtbegin.o: No such file: No such file or directory
make: *** [d01/oracle/debsappl/eng/11.5.0/bin/ENCACN] Error 1
Now we realized that the g++323 we renamed to g++ was actually version 3.4.3. Now we have the actual 3.2.3 renamed to g++. We run autoconfig again and the error is now the following:
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [p01/oracle/pebsappl/eng/11.5.0/bin/ENCACN] Error 1
This is a 11.5.10.2 on Linux RHEL 4 update 3.
This is a new client so we dont know what heppened when they installed the system.
Do you thinks we should ask them to re-install the gcc package? Could this affect other instances on the server?
Thanks for reading. i know is a complicated issue but oracle supports is not helping to much.Husseim,
Thanks for you answer. i have checked the note of the invalid objects but i dont think its related. We have three instances on the node and all have the same relink issue.
I have checked the OS packages and Im sure I have all the requested packages:

/homWhich one is it supposed to be? I have both versions installed side-by-side in /usr/lib, the prefix was /usr. Also, I was thinking about openssl installing header files into /usr/include. Aren't they needed to compile this php extension? openssl098 basically installs just the library:
$ pacaur -Ql openssl098
openssl098 /usr/
openssl098 /usr/bin/
openssl098 /usr/bin/openssl098
openssl098 /usr/lib/
openssl098 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8
openssl098 /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8
openssl098 /usr/share/
openssl098 /usr/share/licenses/
openssl098 /usr/share/licenses/openssl098
Maybe I should go with compiling openssl from sources after all...

Problem compiling apache (2.4.4) with openssl 1.0.1e
Hi Experts
i am struggling since last 2 weeks to compile apache2.4.4 with openssl 1.0.1e on sun spark server.
System Details: SunOS hostname 5.10 Generic_147440-19 sun4v sparc SUNW,Sun-Blade-T6320
bash-3.00# cat /etc/release
Oracle Solaris 10 8/11 s10s_u10wos_17b SPARC
Copyright (c) 1983, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
Assembled 23 August 2011
We already have apache 2.2 running on this server, now we need 2.4.4 with latest openssl.
i donwloaded apr, apr-utils, pcre, openssl and httpd2.4.4 from their respective websites.
then i comiled these prerequisites into the path /local/apache/2.44/apr, /local/apache/2.44/apr-util, /local/apache/2.44/pcre, /local/apache/2.44/openssl
and finally i am trying to build httpd2.4.4 with above compiled modules.
so i used this command:
./configure prefix=/local/apache/2.44 with-apr=/local/apache/2.44 with-apr-util=/local/apache/2.44/apr-utils with-pcre=/local/apache/2.44/pcre enable-proxy enable-proxy-http enable-so enable-auth-digest enable-mime enable-deflate enable-rewrite enable-headers enable-ssl with-ssl=/local/apache/2.44/openssl
when i run make, i received this error:

Hi freaks; you can find an example SSL configuration file here on your system:
/etc/httpd/conf/extra/httpd-ssl.conf
It’s full of comments describing what the different options are.
Apache’s documentation on SSL is full of good stuff, including a howto.
As far as selecting ciphers go, you could do worse than following Qualys’ advice on the subject.

Apache 2.2.3 recompilation problem with updated openssl
I am trying to recompile an apache 2.2.3 with an updated openssl and stumble on httpd-2.2.3 make. I did compile this setup in the last year successfully, only difference is updated openssl.
First, I installed openssl-0.9.6m from source. Test install:
/usr/local/ssl/bin/openssl version
OpenSSL 0.9.6m 17 Mar 2004
Using following gcc version:
gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc/sparc-sun-solaris2.10/3.4.6/specs
Configured with: ../configure with-as=/usr/ccs/bin/as with-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld enable-shared enable-languages=c,c++,f77
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.4.6
PATH output:
echo $PATH
/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/local:/usr/local/bin:/usr/ccs/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr /dt/bin:/usr/platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240/sbin:/opt/sun/bin:/opt/SUNWvts/bin
This is my apache config options:
./configure enable-so enable-ssl enable-rewrite enable-proxy enable-proxy-balancer with-ssl=/usr/local/ssl
make output:
Making all in srclib
Making all in pcre
Making all in os
Making all in unix
Making all in server
Making all in mpm
Making all in prefork
Making all in modules
Making all in aaa
Making all in filters
Making all in loggers
Making all in metadata
Making all in proxy
Making all in ssl

Any help appreciatedI'm experiencing the same problem with the current DirecTV remote not being able to learn more than the first button prompted to enter (arrow-down). The error message "appletv has already learned this button" appears when attempting to enter the second button prompted (arrow-up). Furthermore, I have attempted configuration on two separate DirecTV HR21 remotes in both AV1 and AV2 modes.
Come on Apple -- don't tease us! Testing wasn't done to make sure AppleTV can learn to respond to a current DirecTV remote? Yikes. I wonder what 3rd-party remotes were tested and confirmed to work. -
Mail Encrypted by openssl can be read on outlook but not on BB
While mail encryption and decryption generally works with my certificates, i get some Mail that is encrypted on a unixmachine using openssl and displays in oulook as ordinary mailbody. On a Blackberry however the mailbody displays as attachment with name "unknown" no extension.
The header reads like this:

Is there a way to display this type of encrypted attachment ?this article does not directly answer your question but is adjacent to it:

if you are under BES you can ask your IT department about the BES version.

Permission denied: fopen('/usr/local/ssl/openssl.cnf'
When installing phone software (CounterPath-Bria3) i get an error message in the system: Permission denied: fopen('/usr/local/ssl/openssl.cnf'..) CounterPath is arguing, they use their own SSL library. Does anybody have an idea, how to fix this?
I don't see what you're seeing in my logs. I did recreate the authorized_keys, and reattempted to connect. As before, this is what I'm getting:
debug1: Next authentication method: publickey
debug1: Offering public key: /Users/zbeckman/.ssh/id_dsa
debug3: sendpubkeytest
debug2: we sent a publickey packet, wait for reply
debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic,keyboard-interactive
debug1: Trying private key: /Users/zbeckman/.ssh/identity
debug3: no such identity: /Users/zbeckman/.ssh/identity
debug1: Trying private key: /Users/zbeckman/.ssh/id_rsa
debug3: no such identity: /Users/zbeckman/.ssh/id_rsa
debug2: we did not send a packet, disable method
It seems to me that on my end, we send the public key... and then it just quietly moves on to the next protocol. There is no error message or any indication that something went wrong, or why it would move on to the next protocol.
I've done a cksum on my id_dsa.pub and the remote authorized_keys. They are identical. Both files are owned by me, and readable / writable only by me. -
Kernel-devel-2.6.18-238.el5.x86_64.rpm dependency for dkms
Hi,
I am trying to install VirtualBox-4.1-4.1.8_75467_rhel5-1.x86_64.rpm on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6.
During installation it fails with following error:
=================================

So I tried installing dkms and it failed with following error.

Now I am not able to find rpm for kernel-devel (kernel-devel-2.6.18-238.el5.x86_64.rpm ).
Any idea?houst0n wrote:
There is no 'kernel-devel' package on redhat, if you need the kernel source then you need to pull down a srpm.Of course there's a kernel-devel package. I use it all the time.
However, the Red Hat (and associated downstream compilations like CentOS and Oracle Linux) don't use DKMS. What you want is to install kernel-devel so it builds the full kernel modules, not the DKMS module. We provide the kernel-devel package for Oracle Linux on the install media, on ULN and via our public yum repository at http://public-yum.oracle.com -
Using wallet generated with OPENSSL in Oracle XE
Hi there,
I think this is related to oracle security in general rather than XE, that is why I am posting this here.
I am using Oracle XE 11g on Ubuntu 12.04.2 and I need to send emails from APEX using SSL.
As Oracle XE doesn't have a wallet manager, I manually created a wallet using openssl. All seems to have gone well but when I try to use utl_smtp using SSL I get the cryptic error message ORA-28788: user provided invalid information, or an unknown error.
See below the code I used to create the wallet and the utl_smpt call that is generating the error. Any ideas to fix this?
Thanks
Luis

here is a sample code how it is done.

port => v_smtp_port ,
wallet_path => 'file:c:\google',
wallet_password => 'wallet_password,
secure_connection_before_smtp => FALSE);
utl_smtp.helo(c, v_smtp_host);
utl_smtp.starttls(c);
UTL_SMTP.AUTH( c => c, username => v_auth_login, password => v_auth_pass,schemes => 'PLAIN' );
it is working for sure.
I am using mail.gmail.com port 587 which supports STARTTLS.
I believe you can use port 465 but then you have to set secure_connection_before_smtp => TRUE and remove the utl_smtp.starttls(c) line, but I didn't test that.

Dependency problem with unixODBC-devel-2.2.11-7.1.i386
Hello, guys:
I got problem when I try to install 11gR1 on my FC15. I have installed unixODBC-devel-2.2.11-1.i386.rpm successfully. But when I tried to install unixODBC-devel-2.2.11-7.1.i386.rpm. An error says:
error: Failed dependencies:
unixODBC = 2.2.11-7.1 is needed by unixODBC-devel-2.2.11-7.1.i386
How can I resolve this problem?
Thank you in advance.
Gengsorry. I mean, I installed unixODBC package at first.
The problem is resolved. It was version conflict. I installed unixODBC-2.2.11-1.i386.rpm first, but actually I should install unixODBC-2.2.11-7.1.i386.rpm!
Thank you all the same. :-)

SAP BCM 6 +7 // OpenSSL vulnerability "Heartbleed"
Hi All,
Information on SAP BCM and Heartbleed:
The Heartbleed vulnerability in OpenSSL (CVE-2014-0160) has received a significant amount of attention recently. While the discovered issue is specific to OpenSSL, customers might be wondering whether this affects SAP BCM product.
SAP BCM is not using OpenSSL and thus is not affected by the OpenSSL vulnerability. All versions of SAP BCM are using Windows’ implementation of SSL/TLS (called Secure Channel, a.k.a. SChannel) which is not impacted.
Regards,
Jukka
SAP BCM TeamHi Harish,
First of all - a disclaimer... I am a BCM consultant, and my company is heavily involved in BCM implementations, and turn-key BCM solutions... so I'm not going to say that you "must" have a BCM consultant
However, BCM implementation requires a different skillset from your typical Basis skillset. The most important thing is that the individual(s) implementing BCM has been trained by SAP and/or has previous experience - yes there are people out there with supurb skills that can figure anything out, and get it working... But getting the sizing, landscape and network right is extremely important so you also need access to someone with IP telephony skills/experience.
You will also want your voice team to become comfortable with managing and administering BCM as things like maintaining skills, queues, schedules, prompts, capacity, routing, IVR, etc. usually fall in their domain.
Hope that helps!
Sincerely,
Glenn
