Opensuse 13.1 ja Firefox 28. Kun suomenkielipaketti käytössä, niin osoitepalkki ei toimi ja hakukoneet häviää !? Englanninkielisenä toimivat normaalisti.
Käyttökärjestelmäni on linux ja opensuse 13.1. Firefoksin pävityksen jälkeen versiosta 27 versioon 28 tapahtui niin, että otsikkopalkki ei reagoi osoitteisiin ja hakukonelista katosi. Myöskään hakupalkin optio "hallitse hakukoneita" ei avaudu. Huomasin ajan päästä, että, kun suomenkielipaketti-lisäosan ottaa pois käytöstä, niin ongelma poistuu, ja kun suomenkielen ottaa käyttöön, niin ongelma palaa takaisin, joten jotain tekemistä sillä on kielen kanssa. Jos siis tyydyn englanninkieliseen Firefoxiin, niin oneglmaa ei ole. Haluaisin kuitenkin suomenkielisen. Jos asennnan 27 version takaisin, niin suomenkielen kanssa ongelmaa ei ole, mutta tällöin käyttöjärjestelmä vaatii turvapäivitystä ja kyseinen turvapäivitys asentaa 27:n tilalle 28-version.
Voi olla niin.
Quick Locale Switcher ei vaihtanut 28 versiota pois enganninkielestä millekään kielelle. Lisäksi poisti suomenkielen switcherin kielilistalta ja muutti jotain ~/.mozilla/firefox/ tiedostoissa, niin ettei suomenkielisyyttä (siis ilman hakukoneita ja osoitekentäntoiminnallisuutta) saanut takaisin lisäosan poiston jälkeenkään, muuten kuin deletoimalla ~/.mozilla/firefox hakemiston.
Hyvin suomenkielisenä toimivassa 27 versiossa, puolestaan, pysyi suomenkieli päällä koko ajan, eikä mainittu switcher vaihtanut sitä englanniksikaan. 27 version saa englanninkieliseksi vain disabloimalla suomenkielipaketin työkalut-lisäosat-kielet asetuksista. Kokeilin toistakin samantyyppistä lisäosaa: Locale Switcher. Sama tilanne, ei vaihda kieltä, vaikka kielipaketit ovat asennettuja.
Nyt olen tainnut kokeilla melkein kaikki konstit mitä viitsii kohtuullisella vaivalla kokeilla. Kuten poistanut firefoxin ja asentanut uudelleen. Poistanut /home/.mozilla/firefox hakemiston, poistanut muut liitännäiset, kokeillut mozillan asennuslähteen ja OpenSusen 28 - versioita, jotka 28.x.x numeroinnista päätellen ovat hieman erilaisia. Ei auttanut.
Minulla on ilmeisesti toistaiseksi vain nämä vaihtoehdot: Käyttää 27 suomi-versiota tai 28:aa englanninkielisenä ja odottaa, josko OpenSusen päivitykset myöhemmin korjaisivat ongelman.

I just finished manually upgrading Firefox on an old machine running openSUSE 10.2; I decided against upgrading my OS because this is the only version in which my Olympus MAUSB-10 picture card reader works. In order to do this, I had to compile and install GLib 2.12 and ATK 1.32; all other dependancies were already included in this version of Linux. And I am currently running KDE, although GNOME is also installed. Firefox 2.0.0 is also installed on this machine.
Although the browser works fine from my home directory (I am using it right now to fill-out this form.), whenever I click on Edit and then Preferences, I find that this window comes-up blank. Could anyone please tell me how I might fix this problem?

I need to start two different version of Firefox
I presently have crashing problems with Firefox 26 on openSUSE 13.1.
Firefox 25 runs perfectly well. that is the two versions from the openSUSE repos. I suspect an add-on.
To debug this I need to run both, one to report the bug and make my dayly work and the other to test the bug.
I've seen the other similar thread, but I'm not sure the topic is the same.
I downloaded the last FF from the mozilla site and copied the folder to ~/Documents.
But when I run "~/Documents/Firefox/firefox --no-remoter -p", choose a new profile, I still get firefox 25, the installed version, not Firefox 26, the donwloaded version.
If I add the troubleshooter infos, the message is refused (too long)You need to use -no-remote and you may need to use an uppercase -P as the command line switch to open another Firefox instance.

Java FX apps won't run on the browser with Linux

Opensuse 12.3 x64
Nvidia Gefore 9600gt with Proprietary drivers
Tried both the Oracle Java 7u45 and 7u51 (Installed according to: SDB:Installing Java - openSUSE)
Google Chrome and Firefox (Latest versions for both)
I am not able to run any Java FX browser app. When the app starts loading, i just get a gray box inside the browser screen. I've reproduced this with the JavaFX Ensemble sample app as well as my own apps. This is the exception i get on the Java Console when trying to load the Ensemble app:

After you download the jre file click on it to install it. I'm not sure why AOL isn't registering and the internet explorer is.
Try putting this into your autoexec.bat file (if your running on windows operating system).
set classpath=C:\ProgramFiles\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1\bin;%PATH%
Make sure the file path is correct. It's the path to the java.exe file. This ensures programs that use java.exe file to find it.
You have to restart your computer after changing the autoexec file for it to register.

Using openSUSE 11.3 (i586,) Firefox 4.0b11 (and several previous versions) crashes with very repeatable steps:
- Start with a new profile
- Navigate: Tools -> Set Up Sync...
- Click: I already have a Firefox Sync account. [Connect]
- Click: I don't have the device with me.
- Enter my Sync user account, along with the correct password and the correct sync key. Using Firefox Sync server.
- The program will spin for a second or two, then crash, and bring up the crash reporter.Before I remembered sync existed I tried mozbackup which had worked for years but this time it was denied access to signons2.txt. The next attempt was to follow the instructions for copying all of the appdata/.../... folder. Those instructions told me to create a new profile on the computer I wanted to copy the files to. I did that then I remembered sync. Sync would not function on that computer until I deleted the new profile and had only the default one. Then it was happy.
Is sync supposed to work on machines with more than one profile or could it have worked if I had selected the default profile from profile manager? Should Mozbackup worked on firefox 6.01? -

It looks like Firefox just access pages registered in my repository. Basically I can go to the openSUSE, Linux, KDE and domains alike. I'm writing here whit Chromium that browses just normally as well as Konqueror. I'm also a regular user of Thunderbird and it's working just fine. So, apart of Firefox, connection is working completely well both ways. True for torrents too.
I'm struggling whit it for a while and can't figure out what's going on. Firefox is really a big deal to me. Right now I'm having a hard time to run CodeSkulptor under Linux without it.
I' wanna the Fox back. Help!

I'd like to have firefox in my mother thongue (Dutch).
How can I do thatIf it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple. -

How do I sync between firefoxes on a dual boot - openSUSE 12.3 & Windows 7
I sync-ed both the firefoxes, but they still seem independent. i.e., no syncing has happened.
I forgot to add that I use tab groups a lot. Might that be a problem?

Problem: When I start FF in Linux, it crashes after the cursor is jumping for half a minute. Nothing is displayed. When I start FF from the command line, I get the prompt back after one second without any message. In safe-mode and with all extensions off it always starts.
However, when I change something in the extensions' settings, it may start: If I start in safemode, deactivate all extensions, and restart - here it goes, with all extensions off. If I activate all the extensions again and restart - here it goes again, with all extensions on. If I delete one or more of the extensions' folders in the extensions-directory of the profile (i.e. sth changes about the extensions!), it may start again, too, but not in every case.
What could be the cause of this issue and how can I resolve it?
I use FF 3.6.8 in openSUSE 11.3. The profile-directory I use with FF in Linux is also used by my Windows-FF. As for extensions, I use Greasemonkey, Firebug and Web Developers Toolbar

How can I set Firefox (in about:config?) to NEVER bother me with update notifications?
Welp, the question says it all. Or almost all of it. I DETEST the latest, MENU-LESS version of Firefox (and it DOESN'T help that, by standing on my head and spitting wooden nails in a particular direction, I CAN actually find everything contained in the old menus), and therefore I force-installed the previous version (28.0), but my problem is that I am still pestered with prompts that urge me to upgrade to version 29.0. I resent THE HELL OUT OF THAT! I resent ANYTHING NANNY-LIKE that is IN MY FACE!
So, I thought that by setting certain app.update parameters, I could be rid of that UPDATE SCOURGE - and in fact, it seems to have worked on my Linux-only desktop - but, alas, no, it is still there, still very much IN MY FACE on my dual-boot (openSUSE & Win7) desktop PC!
What, then, can I do to be rid of those update prompts? (Note that I am hoping that at some point in a not too distant future, Mozilla will offer, for each new version, a WUS and an I'M THE MAN variant, where the latter allows the user to steer the vehicle, as it were... if this never materializes, then at some point (when I deem Firefox 28.0 to be too unstable to use any longer), I will ditch Firefox in favor of an alternative that retains a semblance of the male's hobby-garage look (as oppose to HER slick, everything-hidden, kitchen-cabinet look!).

I am running openSUSE 13.1 in dual-boot iwith Window 7, and it is only on the SUSE interface that I am having the problem (on Win7, earlier versions allow me to tick a 'don't install anything, ever' box via preferences, rather than having to seek a solution in about:config). Right now I am using Firefox 28.0, having force-downgraded from the latest version.The Link I gave you above won't tweak Firefox but rather give you a brief overview on what's new in Firefox 29.

I am using 2 firefox profiles at the same, one for working and another for reading news. I start them with "firefox -no-remote -P profilename", so there are 2 firefox processes running.
It works well, but when I click a link in an external app (like in Google Talk), the link is opened in the first firefox process I launched. I mean, if I ran the "news" firefox first, it will always open the external links.
Is it possible to change this behavior? I'd like all external windows to be opened in the "news" firefox, never in the "working". Of course I'll achieve that if I open it first, but if I first run the "news", then the "working", then I close the news for any reason, now links will always open in the "working" until I close it.

How many fields can be added in va01
Hello All, I'm trying to add new fields in the additional data B tab of the header but I noted that I can't add as much fields as I want even if in the dynpro 83909/SAPMV45A still have space. Is there any limitiation of number of fields to be added?
