Opentype fonts do not appear in any applications

I recently discovered some opentype fonts that came with Adobe CS3. The fonts are in the font folder in the root library and appear in the application Font Book. However, the fonts do not show up in any other application, including the Adobe applications. The fonts are all enabled. I suspect I am missing something very simple, but cannot figure out what it is.

There's a lot of fonts hidden in that fonts folder on that CD glad you picked them up.
I assume you installed the fonts by double clicking them and clicking install.?
You may need to rebuild your font caches per application - this will erase your prefernces so start it with the CS3 application you use least (choose between ID, PS and AI).
Hold down shift command option (Shift apple alt) as you click the CS3 application in the doc. When the delete settings file appears click OK. This will rebuild your preferences including your font cache for that app.
Then check you fonts and post back.
I'm curious that they're not showing up anywhere except font book but we'll start with CS3 and see where we get to.

As for VirusScan, Barney is right on the money that it does not come preinstalled on any Mac shipped new from Apple. However you have gotten it, your best bet is removing it. Is the Camera turned on in Restrictions? Go to Settings>General>Restrictions.

Search function in Help not working in any application

The Search function is not working in any application's Help. Upon entering the terms I need help for I get a hang at "Searching..." but never any result. This problem started sometime in the last year or so. Prior to that the search function in Help worked fine. My network connectivity is excellent.
I recently reinstalled OS X 10.5 but I'm sure the problem existed before that and persisted after the reinstall.
The reinstall was due to upgrading to 10.7 and only then finding that I had lost needed functionality, but I don't think this has anything to do with the current problem. All other aspects of Help seem to be working fine
I don't find any reference to this problem anywhere so I'm hoping someone can help with my Help(!) problem. Thanks in advance.

Try running your Leopard install disk again, as well as the 10.5.8 combo updater. This might reinstall any 'missing bits'.
You can do this without deleting the hard drive, just install straight over your existing system, but close all applications and external devices first.

Tax code does not appear in any G/L account item Message FF753

Dear all,
During creating billing document, the system cannot post account document and display the follow error message:
FF753 Tax code does not appear in any G/L account item.
I tried to trace the program and found internal table t_bseg containing 3 entries:
1: Customer a/c: without tax code
2: GR clearing a/c: without tax code
3: Output tax a/c: contain tax code
Customer a/c and GR clearing a/c without tax code causes this error.
Anyone know how to solve it?

In FS00 for GR/IR A/c in Control data, in Tax Category choose all tax types allowed (*) and also tick posting without tax allowed and try again.

Error message "Tax code V1 does not appear in any G/L account item"

Hi,
I am getting the error message FF753- Tax code V1 does not appear in any G/L account item when I post a subsequent credit via miro.
It does not give the error with invoice or credit memo for the sames GL accounts.
History:
PO created
Goods receipt
Invoice posted and blocked as value greater than PO
Subsequent credit put on to correct the values in price query - error appears
I know if I go to FS02 and make the GL code * tax relevant it will remove the error but we dont want tax to go to this account as its a main inventory GL code.
Can anyone advise why it would appear on the subsequent credit but not on invoices or credits.
Also is there something I can set up to remove this issue apart from making the GL code tax relevant - it must not need it if the other postings work ok.

Doesnt matter that it works for credits and invoices with blank tax you still need to put * in GL code for subsequent credit etc postings

Error FF753 Tax code 01 not appear in any G/L account item with FM Active

We have fund management configured for one of the company code, while creating billing document through VF01/VF02 we are getting the Error FF753 Tax code 01 not appear in any G/L account item.
This error however does not appear when posting directly from FI with the same tax code.
I have tried to change the message control in which case i am getting a dump pointing to PSM-FM.
Please advise.

If a billing document is transferred to accounting the system displays error messages. Transferring tax codes from tax conditions into the pricing conditions and discounts does not function as expected.
Other terms

Reason and Prerequisites
The tax condition in the SD pricing procedure contains incorrect reference steps, there are several tax conditions in the pricing procedure of which the tax codes overwrite each other or a program error exists.
Solution
In the accounting document for a billing document, the different G/L account line items are provided with a tax code. The tax code of the G/L accounts is transferred from the tax condition(s) of the billing document. How are the tax codes of the tax conditions transferred into the other conditions of a billing document ?
Basically:
The conditions of a billing document are read from top to bottom. As soon as an active tax (inactive = ' ') is read, the system transfers the tax code of this tax into the non-tax conditions as follows:
    1. The reference steps (From-step, To-step) are read (the reference steps are defined in the pricing procedure).
    2. The tax code is transferred into all conditions, for which
    the step number of the condition lies in the pricing procedure between "From-step" and "To-step",
    the condition is not inactive (exactly: the inactive flag is not equal to A (Condition exclusion), M (Inactive due to manual entry), or X (Incorrect)),
    the condition is not statistical (if it is no invoice list condition),
    the condition is no tax condition.
After the transfer of the tax code the system searches for the next active tax. If further taxes are found, their tax code is again transferred according to the above procedure. If the reference steps of different taxes overlap, tax codes that have already been transferred are overwritten. To all non-tax conditions which in the pricing procedure stand after the last tax condition the tax code of the last active tax condition is transferred if they are not statistical.
Special features:
    1. If the "From-step" of a tax condition refers to a subtotal of the pricing procedure, the tax code of the tax is not only transferred into the conditions with step number between From-step and To-step but into all non-tax conditions for which
    the step number of the condition in the pricing procedure is lower than the "To-step" of the tax condition.
    the condition is not statistical (if it is no invoice list condition).
    the condition is not a tax condition.
    2. If the "To-step" of the tax condition is smaller than the "From-step", then the system sets "To-step = From-step".
Notes:
    1. As of Release 4.0 the tax code is no longer transferred in pricing but only when the billing document is released to accounting.
    2. If you use several taxes and tax codes and Customizing is incorrect for the release of billing documents to accounting, among others the system may display error message FF747.
    3. If there are several taxes in the pricing procedure refer to Notes 72173 and 82091 for Releases 3.0D - 3.1G. For Release 3.1H, only note 82091 is relevant.
    4. For conditions which are transferred into accounting (thus not statistical, not inactive conditions) and do not contain a tax code, the system searches for a default tax code which in Accounting Customizing can be set depending on the company code (tax code for non-taxable transactions). This applies to releases up to and including Release 4.5B. For Release 4.6, refer to Note 385127."

Iam facing a proble while releasing the billing document to accounting. Following error is coming up
'Tax code ZT does not appear in any G/L account item'.
FTXP setting for the tax code appears find as it is tagged to the correct GL account, but somehow the posting is not happeing.
Can you please help me out with this as Iam stuck and the testing has stopped.

a) Consistency checks
In FI, the system checks whether there is a revenue line for each tax line. In the reverse case, for each revenue line containing a certain tax indicator there must be a tax line with this indicator.
If the first requirement is not met, the system issues error FF753. In many cases, you can solve the problem with Note 112609
by adjusting the level number in the pricing procedure in such a way that the system copies the tax indicators correctly into the
revenue lines.
If the two tax conditions refer to one revenue condition, the requirement cannot be met if the taxes have different tax indicators. In this case, you must use the tax trigger condition in accordance with note 26646.

Folders that I copy from my Macbook to my External Hard Disk does NOT appear on any other drive that I connect the Hard disk to (TV, PC, ... etc.)

I'm facing a bit of a problem.
Any folder I copy from my Macbook Pro to my External Hard Disk does NOT appear on any other device that I connect the Hard Disk to (TV, PC, etc).
The Hard disk format is "MS-DOS (FAT)".
The folders that are copied from Macbook appear when I connect the Hard Disk to my Macbook only, yet, the folders that I copy from a PC to the Hard Disk appear on Macbook, PC, and TV and are also available from editing from both Mac and PC.
I was advised to install "Paragon" software and I did but I'm not sure how to use it to convert the folders on the hard drive to any format that can be read on other drives or devices (NTFS or otherwise).
I'd appreciate some help. Thank you.

Hi Simon. How is it formatted, FAT or NTFS?
I only ask as OSX will only read NTFS partitions unless you install an App such as Paragon NTFS or Tuxera NTFS.

Tax code P0 does not appear in any G/L line item

Hi,
I am using BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST to upload the AP/AR Journals. I have a scenario wherein for AP document type 'KA' both the line items are of vendor . One line item though has a special G/L indicator and a tax code to it.
When i execute the program I am geting an error that "Tax code P0 does not appear in any G/L line item".
Here in my case I do not have any G/L line items but both are vendor line items and one line item has a special G/L indicator.
Could anyone help me in solving it.

Calibri Font does not appear in pdf docs when viewed in Preview

When I open a pdf file created on a PC the Calibri Font does not appear when the doc is opened in Preview. It does not print also.
Do I have to install a font into Preview?

Some fonts do not appear in InDesign

Some fonts do not appear in InDesign although they can be used in Word, Pagemaker and show in Adobe Typemanager.

Can you name one?
These are the most common causes of people complaining "My fonts don't appear":
(a) Smart name sorting. "New Century Schoolbook" sorts under "C", not "N". "Adobe Garamond" sorts under "G". (I call this 'smart' sorting because apparently it isn't the same as, ehm, dumb sorting. However, I've never read a good description of its sort parameters.)
(b) Word and PageMaker (but not ATM) allow the use of fake fonts: bold, italics and bold+italics are produced by horribly deforming your base font. If you want a bold font in InDesign, use the designed one. If there isn't one designed ... the designer probably had good reasons not to make one. (It's still possible to create faux-bold and faux-italics in InDesign but the program leaves that decision to you).
(c) Smart Script sorting. InDesign groups its fonts per supported script. Latin fonts are at the top (a slightly self-centric choice), then come groups of fonts for Hebrew, Arabic, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, etc. etc. A font like Gisha contains Hebrew characters and thus appears in the Hebrew group.
(d) More than one font file with the same font name (internally). ID gets mightily confuzed if it encounters a file "times.ttf", font name "Times Roman", in one folder, and "tr_____.pfb", font name "Times Roman", in another folder. You can't really blaim it, though.

Firefox won't install on my Mac, it just finishes the installation then does not appear in my Applications folder.

Firefox offered to create a new profile for me, but took forever to do so so eventually I had to shut off the computer. In restarting, initially Firefox would not open as "Profile could not be found". Having moved Firefox to my trash folder, when I attempt to install Firefox again, it completes the download, then does not appear in my Applications folder.

This is likely caused by a problem with the profiles.ini file and the profile marked as Default=1 in this file is not present on the hard drive.

*Delete the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile

I am using Mac OSX 10.10.1 (memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, graphics Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB)
and my version of Photoshop is CC.
I ran into the same problem: I am able to place and view Blur Gallery pins but the adjustment wheel or outer control arounf the pin that allows you to tweak the blur value disappeared after being initially available. Additionally, the placed pin or pins appear to flicker on screen (while in blur gallery mode) until committing the change with the OK button. I have tried restarting both the computer and Photoshop, as well as what some other users have suggested such as View>Show>Edit pins turned on. Nothing has helped so far. I am still able to adjust the blur amount from the Blur Tools slider. thank you.
