Opera 5.12 and JRE 1.3.1?

Has anyone been able to get applets to work using Opera 5.1.2 and JRE 1.3.1?
To try to understand what's going on, I have tried explicilty coding my HTML to test each of the <APPLET>, <OBJECT>, and <EMBED> tags.
<APPLET> and <OBJECT> apparently load the JRE 1.3.1 and attempt to execute my applets, but <EMBED> tries to load a Netscape proxy, which ends up using the Java Plugin 1.3.1.
Regardless, the applets are unable to upload images from the server, or communicate with the server via HTTP tunneling... note that these applets work perfectly with IE 5.5 and Netscape 6.1.

Please let me know how you got your applet to work in Netscape 6.1. Do you have JavaScript in your HTML that calls methods in Java? Do you know if this is supported in Netscape 6.1 yet? Thank you!!!!!

I used Target mode to transfer files to a new i7 iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 from an older Dual core Intel machine (EMC 2105) also on 10.6.8. but originally Tiger 10.4. The operation was successful and I ejected the disk icon from the new machine and powered down the old machine. When this was restarted the next day there was a grey screen with flashing Mac symbol alternating with a 'no entry' sign and occasionally a question mark.Keyboard and mouse were unusable so k inserted the original instal disc (No.1 for 10.4. with installer 1.0.4) which came with the machine in 2006 in an attempt to boot from this. The ensuing window said this was not possible and now it cannot be ejected.I have tried everything ! It offers Disk Utility and other options like Terminal but that doesn't work either.I 'repaired disk' and that was pronounced o.k. None of the various keystrokes at start up will work, and the computer will only offer the installer disc continually.The only option would seem to be is to erase the hard drive completely from the disc in the machine.I don't want to do this as there is still material which I need to recover. I think the drive has in some way been corrupted by using it in target mode, and I don't know if there are any other options to try.
Please tell me how to get this disc to eject !

No; but then, I've not had occasion to use TDM. I've been using firerwire drives for over 10 years, both FW400 and FW800, with no issues except a bit of instability using a B&W G3 machine.
TDM should be safe. Using cautious, manual copying of files from the Target machine to the Host machine should not result in unexpected loss of files or damage to the Target drive's directories. It should behave exactly the same as if it were an external (to the Host) firewire drive.

I'm afraid you'll have to get the phone serviced, dropping the phone must have damaged additional parts inside the phone.
But Apple will not service the phone anymore, opening the phone and replacing the battery should only be done by authorized personal, not by users.
You'll have to look for a 3rd party repair shop and see if they can fix this, sorry.

Sharepoint 2013 copy/move operation using Content and Structure fails

Hi,
We had a recent upgrade from SP2010 to SP2013 environment. After the migration, we realized that the
copy/move operations using Manage content and structure(sitemanager.aspx) is not working as expected, neither does this give any error nor is it stuck. In fact if I check the content and structure log I find the message as
succeeded but file/item is not copied to the target.
The strange thing is that if I am performing this operation with Full Control permission level it
does not work but if I do the operation as Site collection admin it works without problem. I know if sub-sites are to moved then one should be site col admin but in this case I am trying to move just documents or pages.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Vineet,
According to your description, my understanding is that copy/move operation using Content and Structure cannot work in SharePoint.
I recommend to check if there are any custom fields in the source list/library and target list/library. If yes, delete the custom fields to see if the issue still occurs.

To copy or move files/items between sites, we need to have
appropriate permissions on both sites.
I recommend to check if the user has full control on both sites.

SAP R/3 4.7 and JRE 1.5

On our SAP r/3 4.7 server currently JRE1.4 is installed .
We recived a request to upgrade it to 1.5
Can you let us know if there is any dependecy between sap r/3 4.7 and JRE 1.5
Will it run without any issue.

I am unable to find any information regarding the same anywhere .
Only thing i found was that
SAP java connector Supports R/3 3.1I and higher (and other SAP Components that have BAPIs or RFMs).
It does not say anything about the version of SAP java connector.

1. On your computer, yes. Use Boot Camp, Parallels Desktop, VMware Fusion, VirtualBox, or similar software.

Errors installing and uninstalling JDK and JRE 5.0 update 6

I recently removed some older versions of java as they take up alot of space.. now wondering if i should have.
I uninstalled all version fine, leaving only the update 6 for both JDK and JRE. Now when i try to compile in Jcreator i get the error message:

I have no javac file in the directory.I did before i unstalled the older updates
I am getting a windows installer error when trying to install JDK 5.0 update 6, windows installer works when trying to uninstall though. When i try to remove JDK 5.0 update 5, it tells me i all ready have this version installed, and to uninstall through my add/remove utility which is what i am doing! Then if i click ok i get: 'Fatal error during installation' This also occurs when trying to remove update 6. I also get problems with my JRE 5.0 update 6. When trying to uninstall i get the message 'error applying transforms, verify paths are valid' I cannot get rid of these!. It seems to be interfering/linked with installing them aswell.

You can't change the folder structure within iTunes, but you can easily change the view to sort by Genre.

HTML Converter vs. JRE 1.4.x and JRE 1.3.x

Had Netscape 6.1 and IE 5.0 and JRE 1.3.1 -- wrote applet
and used HTML Converter to convert the HTML page to use JRE 1.3.1
plugin.
Everything worked just fine...
Installed Netscape 7.02 and IE 6.0 and JRE 1.4.1.
Now the HTML pages that were converted don't work with NN7 anymore
because the page wants to load the 1.3.1 plugin. I get a message to
load the 1.3.1 plugin. When I got the latest JRE, it was 1.3.1_07.
I installed it and it still won't run because it doesn't install into
NN7.
And now NN6 won't run the old page anymore because the 1.3.1_07 is the
new default plugin.
Now NN7 and 1.4.x doesn't need converted HTML pages anymore but
I still have a bunch of old converted HTML pages. Do I have to
replace all my old converted HTML pages with plain vanilla pages now?
If so, WHY DID SUN LEAD ME DOWN THE GARDEN PATH WITH THE HTML CONVERTER?
ARRGGGGHHHHHH!
Is there any way to get compatibility with the old converted HTML pages?

I don't pretend to be able to resolve the problem here - you have too many variables in the problem. The best advice I can give is to research the Plugin Developer's Guide, as it discusses this stuff in intimate detail.

Is it possible to use Configuration Manager 2012 (or 2012 R2) to perform remote installation of operating system, applications and patching in a Unix environment?

ConfigMgr does not support Operating System Deployment for non-Windows OS flavors.
You can use the ConfigMgr client on a Unix device to install applications and to instruct the device to install patches. Basically, the client will download files and run a script against them. If there is a patch manager in your flavor of *nix, you
can run a script to install the patches.

Term confusion: JVM and JRE

Could anyone clarify the terms JVM (Java Virtual Machine) and JRE (Java Runtime Environment)?
As far as I know, they mean the same thing and can be used interchangeably. Am I right?
(I am writing a paper which requires dead accurate use of technical terms.)

Operating system name and version

HI, I was wondering where SCCM gets the value for "system resource - Operating system and version" from.
I have created a limiting collection for servers based on "%windows server%" query and a limiting collection based on "%windows workstation%" for workstations.
Now I noticed that there is also a value "Windows 7 Entreprise 6.1" for system-resource - Operating system name and version.
Therefore I would like to know where this information comes from as I can no longer be sure tat every device is covered by using "%windows server%" and "%windows workstation%"

Upgrading JDK and JRE in 10.2.0.4 Oracle_Home of 11.5.10.2 EBS ?

I've tried to find something at Metalink but failed.
What's the lastest Java Version certified to use with the database ORACLE_HOME (10.2.0.4) in 11.5.10.2 EBS? And what's the procedure to update it?
There is no hint in note 300482.1 "Overview of Using Java with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i" and the Java version related documents.
I found note 418399.1 "How To Update The Default JDK and JRE Installed In Oracle Database Home 10.1 and 10.2" which states "...When installing a new version it is important that the major version (1.4) remains the same, and you only change the "update" number...." But that note is not EBS related.
So is there no way to update Java in ORACLE_HOMEs beyond 1.4?

There is no special cause. I'm trying to keep our installations current.
I thought that I had to update the Database JDK in earlier cases before migrating to autoconfig or before applying MPs. And as Steven Chan wrote something about [the implications of end-of-life of J2SE 1.5 for EBusiness Suite in his blog|http://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/2009/06/understanding_j2se_15_endoflife_implications_for_apps.html] I thought that I better should check if I got to update the DB Oracle_Homes, too.

What problem does Encore have with DL?
If DL is not working properly for you the way around this is to export from Premiere to either mpeg2-dvd for DVD or BluRay H.264 for BD-disks and import the files in Encore.
