  • Enhancement Pack Upgrade and Portal Implications

    Hello Everyone,
    We are currently on EHP 4 and running EP/Portal 7.00 SP30 and are planning to upgrade to EHP 6.  Is there a need to upgrade EP when upgrading the SAP landscape to EHP 6?
    We are treating the EHP 6 upgrade as a technical upgrade.  Thus the existing ESS/MSS functionality that we have will remain as Java Web Dynpros.  We are also not planning on implementing HR Renewal with the upgrade.
    Thank you for the help.
    Best Regards,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
    You wont be having any issues if the SP Level of you EP/Portal 7.00 is 30.
    Please check the note 1496212.
    According to the note if your SP level is less than 18 then you have to upgrade it to 30.
    Your ESS/MSS business Packages will remain the same and for HR Renewal you can deploy its latest Businesspackage.
    We had a similar situation and now, we have successfully implemented latest ESS (in WebDynpro ABAP) and MSS (MSS ADDON) in our old portal 7.00 SP 27 (Backend Upgraded to ECC6 EHP 6)
    Regards,
    Suman

  • Upgraded to R12 and Operating Unit Error is coming

    We have upgraded to R12. As per the metalink note 259546.1 we have applied a patch to create a non usable operating system as we are not using any of the financial modules.
    But now when I am trying to open "Create Timesheet Screen" it gives the following error.
    "java.sql.SQLException: ORA-20001: SQL_PLSQL_ERROR: N, ROUTINE, MO_GLOBAL.INIT, N, ERRNO, -20001, N, REASON, ORA-20001: APP-FND-02901: You do not have access privilege to any operating unit. Please check if your profile option MO: Security Profile includes any operating unit or the profile option MO: Operating Unit is set.
    I checked the profile option MO:Operating Unit, which is assigned by the the patch that I applied for creation of non-usable operating system.
    Any one faced some similar issues

    Additional Info
    I have set only MO: Operating Unit profile and not MO: Security Profile

    It will input your Quicken PPC data file directly if it was Quicken 2005 through 2007.  If older you need Quicken 2006 or 2007 PPC first to convert your data file; and this update must be done BEFORE you upgrade to Mavericks:

    This solution allows you to run your Photoshop Elements in Mavericks concurrently with Filemaker Pro PPC.  Mavericks is a free download.

  • When I try to upgrade and install to iOS 5.1, error message prompt "operation stop running". I have tried several time but failed. Also, would like to know why always need to have wifi access in order to upgrade the version of iPad iOS, why not 3G ?

    When I try to upgrade and install to iOS 5.1, error message prompt "operation stop running". I have tried several time but failed. Also, would like to know why always need to have wifi access in order to upgrade the version of iPad iOS, what is the purpose of 3G then? This is really nonsense using wifi + 3G iPad. need help ! Thanks.

    The file is too large to download via 3G. There is a 20MB limit with 3G. The purpose of having 3G is that you have internet access everywhere and do not need to be near a WiFi hotspot or network.
    Not every single thing that you do every single minute of the day on the iPad involves downloading files larger than 20MB. You can surf the internet all day long sitting out in a park somewhere with 3G - but not with a WiFi only iPad - unless you use a hotspot with it.
    Try turning off your firewall and anti virus software while you try to download the iOS update.

  • Step by Step Instructions on R12.2.0 upgrade to R12.2.3

    Hi All,
    I just went through an 12.2.3 upgrade and had my documentation done while upgrading. Therefore thought of sharing the upgrade procedure and possible issues you may encounter and how you could avoid them.
    Enviornment Details:
                    Operating System: OEL 5.10 64bit
                    Fresh Installation of R12.2.0
                    02 Node Installation (DB and Apps)
                    Each Node with 7.5 GB RAM
                    Platform: Virtualization (Via Oracle Virtual Box)
    1. Backup up your existing R12.2.0 Instance.
    2. Shutdown Application, Database and Database listener.
    3. Download the below Consolidated List of Patches and Technology Bug Fixes for Database 11.2.0.3 and apply all patches (Reference Note: 1594274.1):
    13001379
    16924879
    16929165
    16992075
    17047617
    17184721
    17461865
    17468141
    17502060 (Check Note 2)
    17875948
    NOTE 1: During some of the database patches being applied you may get the following warning:
    “/u01/finsys/db/tech_st/11.2.0/precomp/lib/env_precomp.mk:2160: warning: ignoring old commands for target `pcscfg.cfg'
    /u01/finsys/db/tech_st/11.2.0/precomp/lib/ins_precomp.mk:19: warning: overriding commands for target `pcscfg.cfg'
    /u01/finsys/db/tech_st/11.2.0/precomp/lib/env_precomp.mk:2160: warning: ignoring old commands for target `pcscfg.cfg'”
    You may disregard the warning, and the respective patches are applied successfully (Reference Note: 1448337.1).
    NOTE 2: If the opatch fails, ensure that patch 16819180 and 14832335 are not applied. In order to check you may use command:
    opatch lsinventory | grep 16819180
    opatch lsinventory | grep 14832335
    In my case I had patch 14832335 already applied, hence used the following command to remove:
    opatch rollback -id 14832335
    4. Download and Copy the Following application patches to “$PATCH_TOP” directory. That is as “/u01/finsys/fs_ne/EBSapps/patch/” in my case.
    17204589 (Consolidated Seed Table Upgrade Patch)
    17023760 (R12.AD.C.DELTA.3 Patch)

    17020685 (Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.3 Online Help Patch)
    5. Apply the Consolidated Seed Table upgrade patch 17204589
    Start Database Listener and the Database
    Start the Weblogic Server:
    sh $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adadminsrvctl.sh start
    Apply patch 17204589 on hotpatch mode:
    adop phase=apply patches=17204589 hotpatch=yes
    6. Apply AD/TXK Patches
    Find the version of the adgrants.sql available in the patch 17023760.
    Find the version of the adgrants.sql that is in $APPL_TOP/admin
                      You may use command:
    strings -a adgrants.sql | grep '$Header'
    Out of the two, Copy the latest adgrants.sql script to the Database server
    mkdir $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin
    scp adgrants.sql oracle@<DB_NODE>:/u01/finsys/db/tech_st/11.2.0/appsutil/admin
    Source the DB environment and run the adgrants.sql that you have copied to the DB Server:
    sqlplus /nolog @$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/admin/adgrants.sql apps
    Apply patch 17023760, 17021789  using hotpatch mode:
    adop phase=apply patches=17023760 hotpatch=yes
    adop phase=apply patches=17021789 hotpatch=yes
    7. Instantiate the Oracle HTTP Server configuration files admin.conf, ssl.conf, mod_wl_ohs.conf on Run File System.
    $ADJVAPRG oracle.apps.ad.autoconfig.InstantiateFile -e $CONTEXT_FILE -d $FND_TOP/admin/driver/ohstmpl.drv -tmpl $FND_TOP/admin/template/ssl_conf_FMW.tmp

    perl $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin/txkSetAppsConf.pl -contextfile=$CONTEXT_FILE -outfile=$INST_TOP/logs/appl/rgf/TXK/test.log
    8. Startup EBS Application Services.
          sh $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adstrtall.sh
    9. Synchronize the patch file system
         adop phase=fs_clone
    10. Apply R12.2.3 Suite-Wide Release pack.
    Start an online patching cycle
              adop phase=prepare
    Apply the R12.2.3 patchset (Please check notes and do the needful prior in avoid possible errors during upgrade):
              adop phase=apply patches=17020683,17020685
    NOTE 1:You may come across tablespace sizing error.
    AutoPatch error:
    ORA-01653: unable to extend table APPLSYS.AD_FILES by 16 in tablespace APPS_TS_TX_DATA
    ORA-06512: at "APPS.AD_FILE_UTIL", line 1379
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    Solution:
    Either resize an existing datafile or create a new datafile for tablespace APPS_TS_TX_DATA. I personally prefer to have new datafile created for any custom datafile adding on, so I created a new datafile.
    Alter tablespace
    add datafile ‘/u01/finsys/db/apps_st/data/a_txn_data05.dbf’
    size 1g;
    Alter database
    datafile ‘/u01/finsys/db/apps_st/data/a_txn_data05.dbf’
    autoextend on maxsize 5g;
    After increasing the datafile size, when tried to restart the patching process, I get the following error message:
    The worker should not have status 'Running' or 'Restarted'
    To resolve this check the current worker status using adctrl:
    - Source the Patch Edition of Apps Environment file (You will not be able to run the adctrl using the Running edition of Apps Environment during an active patching cycle).
    - Start the adctrl and Execute option 4, 5 and 6 sequentially on the problematic worker.
    - Restart the patching process again.
              adop phase=apply patches=17020683,17020685 restart=yes
    11. Instantiate the Oracle HTTP Server configuration files admin.conf, ssl.conf, mod_wl_ohs.conf on Run File System.
    Source Patch Edition Apps Environment file.
    . $PATCH_BASE/EBSapps/appl/APPS$CONTEXT_NAME.env
    Perform instantiation.
    Please refer the command used above in Step No. 7
    12. Complete the online patching cycle
    adop phase=finalize
    adop phase=cutover
    adop phase=cleanup
    adop phase=fs_clone

  • Opatch error with IBM AIX6.1 when upgrade from r12.1.1 to r12.1.2

    I'm running E-Business Suite (Oracle Financials AR, AP and GL modules only) r12.1.1 on AIX 6.1. I clean install r12.1.1 from rapidwiz. I'm running one Apps tier and one database tier.
    Now I perform the upgrade to r12.1.2, and I plan the route to be:
    1. Use opatch to apply Database Preparation Path E for DB 11.1.0.7 (ID: 761570.1)
    * 7211965
    * 7330434
    * 7486407
    * 7627743
    * 7639602
    * 7684818
    * 8199107
    * 8639653
    * 8940108
    * 9026927
    * 9066130
    2. Use AutoPatch to apply R12.AD.B.DELTA.2 Patch 8502056
    3. Use AutoPatch to apply Release 12.1.2 Patch 7303033
    4. Use AutoPatch to apply post-R12.1.2's Database Preparation Path E: 5880762.
    5. Use AutoPatch to apply the latest consolidated online help Patch 7303032
    6. Use AutoPatch to apply Workflow Interoperability Patch 8291541
    Questions:
    1. Do I cover all things needed for upgrading from R12.1.1 to R12.1.2, or I have missed or overdone anything?
    2. When I now do the upgrade step 1, which needs to run opatch on Database tier, it says as below:
    orapth@HK01SO90003:7211965 > opatch apply
    Invoking OPatch 11.1.0.6.2

    OPatch failed with error code 160
    I also experience this when I run:
    opatch lsinventory
    Please help to solve this problem. Is it also OUI problem? I have tried to upgrade opatch version, and it still cannot solve the problem.
    I once tried patch 9216848, it makes the opatch work, but later when I finished installing this patch, I cannot see the forms as it says "magic number problem". Also the adworker always hangs when I do upgrade on R12.1.2 Patch 7303033. So I dun think it is a solution.

    BTW, I'd like to ask where's my Database Initialiation File? I find init.ora and init<SID>.ora in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs in DB Tier, but I cannot find the lines -- pgamax_size. Which file I should edit and what things should I add / remove /edit?
    pgamax_size is a hidden parameter (why you need to set this one?).
    The PGAMAX_SIZE hidden parameter
    http://dba-blog.blogspot.com/2005/08/pgamaxsize-hidden-parameter.html
    I want to set the Database Initialiation File because in Database Preparation Guidelines (ID: 761570.1), it says that:
    1. Before performing any Applications upgrade or maintenance operations, customers must add the following to the database intialization file to disable fast validation for PL/SQL recompilations:
    disablefast_validate=TRUE
    The line should be commented out during the normal operation of the Applications system.
    2. Customers using Oracle iRecruitment on Oracle Database 11gR1 must add the following line to their database initialization file::
    event="31151 trace name context forever, level 0x100"
    Setting this event provides a fix for the issue reported in bug 6952870.
    3. If you encounter the error:
    ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 822904 bytes (pga heap, kco buffer)
    ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [dbgtfdFileWrite()+48]
    set the pgamax_size initialization parameter to a larger value as follows: pgamax_size=104857600
    and restart your database.
    I wonder where I can modify these three parameters (which file to edit, and whether it is append / delete / modify values). Or I do not need to do these three points, or even I do not need to go through Database Preparation Guidelines (ID: 761570.1) because my database is 10.3.4 already?
    Thanks!

  • Help with simple OS upgrade and backup questions for a dumb old previous PC user...?

    Ok...have mercy on me, please...
    I am not completely dumb, I know typical board etiquette, and I have searched for various answers (and found many)...but I just want to confirm my personal "research" and get all of this clear up before I proceed with this insanity.  I know I could probably search more, but this is taking hours, because of all my various questions, one leads to 10 more...
    I have an iMac with Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 (which, though not mentioned anywhere?...is apparently "Leopard", right?  Told you I was dumb...)
    Processor:  3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory: 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
    My main goal:  install an app that was in the Mac App store.
    However, with Leopard, I can't access the Mac App store with Leopard, apparently.
    I click on the Mac App store, and up pops up a Lion advertisement...telling me I should upgrade.  Ok, fine...probably a good idea, anyway...
    But how do you upgrade to Lion?  Apparently through the Mac App store!
    The web-redirects on the Apple site are amusing...taking me on an endless cycle...purchase Lion in the app store...click..."you need to upgrade to Lion"...OK...click..."you need Lion at the app store"...OK...click..."you need to upgrade to Lion to get to the app store"....etc.
    OK...fine...google searches...ahh, I need to upgrade to Snow Leopard first, apparently!  Yes?
    (Maybe the Apple redirects should detect that I have Leopard, and direct me to a screen that explains that I must upgrade to Snow Leopard...and then Lion!  Do you hear that, Apple?  Thanks.)
    Anyway...so here's my plan:
    1) Upgrade to Snow Leopard
    2) Access the Mac app store
    3) Upgrade to Lion
    Question A:  With my iMac (specs above), is it really advisable for me to do this?  Can my computer really handle Lion?  It seems I barely meet the minimum with my intel core 2 Duo and 2 GB ram...yes?  Is this a dumb idea, even if "OK"?  I know that "minimum requirements" on a PC often meant:  "Well, it will work...but it will be slower than a snail and crash if you run 5 programs at the same time" (which I usually do...)  I don't want to upgrade if the "minimum" is really not enough.
    Question B:  If the answer to A is "not a good idea", then  do I just need a new computer (i.e. better processor)?  Or do I need more Ram?  And can I add Ram to this computer, and is it relatively easy?  I have added Ram to PCs tons of times, and you always have to determine type of Ram for your board, make sure they "match", or whatever, and then open up the machine and install.  Kind of a pain, but once I have the "right" type of Ram, opening the CPU and installing is within my abilities.  Will it be harder for a Mac?
    = = =
    Next:
    When upgrading an OS on a Windows, you pretty much format the harddrive and start all over.  Back in the day I was a PC user, there wasn't really a "great" way to back up programs and files, so this was a nightmare.  You could NOT just back-up software.  You typically had to re-purchase and install it all from scratch.  Is this the same with Macs?  Furthermore, personal files were scattered all over the hard-drive for the individual software...so trying to back all that up to get it back on the new system = nightmare!  I hate PCs.
    Anyway...so, my iMac has Time Machine.  I am pretty ignorant about this, and based on my previous PC backup program nightmares, I have a distrust for it...and don't really understand how it works.  But in any event, my external drive crashed a few months ago, and I haven't replaced it, yet.  So, I am replacing it soon and will get Time Machine back up and running...setting it up again, etc...leading to question C...
    Question C: When upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard to Lion, what is the best way to ensure I keep all my programs and files.  My wife and I both access the computer, so two user accounts.  Does Time Machine really do a good job backing up everything and all things?  Is it just a matter of upgrade to Snow Leopard...then immediately to Lion...and then some sort of "Restore" from Time Machine?  Anything for me to "watch out for"...or to do when I buy a new external hard-drive and setup up Time Machine for the first time on it, in order to make this work well?  Will I have to re-install all the various applications I have installed on this thing?  (like with PCs?)
    Thanks for any sincere help.

    Apple has discontinued support for 10.5, it's a plaque of our platform that Apple only supports the last two operating systems in circulation.
    Where as on Windows you can run the same OS version for 10 years and get updates free (if not stolen), on a Mac we get one year, two tops now and if you don't upgrade and break all your third party software and hardware drivers in the process, then your denied security updates.
    On top of that, the OS X upgrades tend to break your older hardware too, or slow it down so much that it drives you to want to buy newer hardware.
    It's funny Apple places the AppStore on your OS X version along with iTunes and Safari updates, but then doens't supply necessary security updates, your machine may be compromised and here you enter vital credit card info, banking  etc. thinking you have a secure machine.
    My advice, since that's a 10.5 era Mac, is to upgrade to 10.6.3 via this disk, then use Software Update until clear. You'll get security updates and your present installed 10.5 software will work in 10.6 using Rosetta.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A
    Rosetta is not avaialble in 10.7 so it could be a lot of your software will no longer function
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
    I don't see the sense in you buying all new software for a machine that's at it's end of life stage.
    You can buy software in the AppStore with 10.6.
    Question A:  With my iMac (specs above), is it really advisable for me to do this?  Can my computer really handle Lion?  It seems I barely meet the minimum with my intel core 2 Duo and 2 GB ram...yes?
    You will need to buy 4GB of RAM to run Lion well, the 2GB is just a bare minimum, and your processor is a bit dated.
    Lion 10.7 is certainly slower than Snow Leopard 10.6, in fact so many wanted to go back to Snow Leopard and one of the resons was Lion was slow.
    So I wrote a User Tip, here, but the Tips were implemented only recently.
    How to revert your Mac to Snow Leopard

    RAM is easy, you can buy it at Otherworld Computing or Crucial.com and install it yourself, there is a little door under the monitor.
    Videos online at YouTube.

    Mac'soperaing system is seperate, it can be replaced or upgraded indepentantly of programs or user accounts on the machine.
    There are some programs that install a kernel extension file at boot into OS X, those get knocked out, but those can be replaced with a new install of the software.
    You should always backup your users files as those can't be repalced.
     Most commonly used backup methods explained
    Question C: When upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard to Lion, what is the best way to ensure I keep all my programs and files.
    OS X upgrades dont' affect User accounts but they can have a affect on programs installed, which most of your 10.5 programs likely will no longer work in 10.7
    However they will (with a slight update) work in 10.6 just like before.
    You need to backup regardless, I suggest a manual backup of users files to a storage drive, a 10.5 clone on another drive, the your ready to upgrade to 10.6
    10.5 to 10.6 upgrade is rather painless, also 10.6 gives accelerated video drivers, so your machine will appear faster.
    However once you install 10.7, you will slow down.
    Does Time Machine really do a good job backing up everything and all things?
    No, you shouldn't rely upon TM, have a multiple backup stragedy, TM files are hard to access directly.
    Is it just a matter of upgrade to Snow Leopard...then immediately to Lion...and then some sort of "Restore" from Time Machine?
    No need to restore, OS X upgrades and leaves everything else in place, just some programs (with 10.6) or a lot (with 10.7) when you try to launch them they will fail.
    Also when you connect TM it will do a substancial change to reflect the new boot drive.
    If you were using TM as a "storage drive" thinking you can use the archived versions later, that wil change upon the new OS X  upgrade.
    But in any event, my external drive crashed a few months ago, and I haven't replaced it, yet.  So, I am replacing it soon and will get Time Machine back up and running...setting it up again, etc...leading to question C..
    You need not only TM drive, but a bootable clone and user files on a storage drive.
     Most commonly used backup methods explained
    Will I have to re-install all the various applications I have installed on this thing?  (like with PCs?)
    No, depending upon what OS X version you stop at depends how many programs no longer work.
    You will have to buy a lot of new or upgrade versions with 10.7, not so with 10.6 only updates mostly because of Rosetta on 10.6 and not on 10.7
    My opinion, since that machine is a bit dated, is to upgrade to 10.6, Software update to 10.6.8, and stay there.
    Later on 10.8 is being released after this summer, you may want to consider getting a new machine with 10.8 a few months later to ensure all the bugs are worked out of it.
    Your not a comptuer savvy person, you like most Apple users expect your machine to "just work" I think going to 10.7 will be a bad experience for you.
    10.6.8 will server your needs until 10.8 is released and on new hardware where Apple will hold your hand for free for three months, 3 years with AppleCare.
    Your not a "OS X upgrader type of a person" and Apple needs to get of thier collective assets and pay better attention to it's most common users.

  • Invalid objects found after R12.1.2 upgrade from R12.1.1

    Hi all,
    We had Oracle E-Business R12.1.1 vanilla installation before and just upgraded to R12.1.2 by applying patch (7303033), in which during this process there was an error stating some errors found at forms library.
    And the below query;
    select count(*) from dba_objects where owner ='APPS and status = 'INVALID''; --gave us 84 objects.
    Due to this we ran a recompilation of the apps schema and Application database entire using the "adadmin" command, after which the above query has fallen down the output to "48" counts from "84" counts.
    Basically the instalallation and upgrade has been done by the vendor of Oracle product to us and have no metalink account as yet ( which will be provided to us after the go live date).
    I just want to know will this effect our production enviornment and if so how could I rectify it...
    Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  • Sharepoint 2013 copy/move operation using Content and Structure fails

    Hi,
    We had a recent upgrade from SP2010 to SP2013 environment. After the migration, we realized that the
    copy/move operations using Manage content and structure(sitemanager.aspx) is not working as expected, neither does this give any error nor is it stuck. In fact if I check the content and structure log I find the message as
    succeeded but file/item is not copied to the target.
    The strange thing is that if I am performing this operation with Full Control permission level it
    does not work but if I do the operation as Site collection admin it works without problem. I know if sub-sites are to moved then one should be site col admin but in this case I am trying to move just documents or pages.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Vineet,
    According to your description, my understanding is that copy/move operation using Content and Structure cannot work in SharePoint.
    I recommend to check if there are any custom fields in the source list/library and target list/library. If yes, delete the custom fields to see if the issue still occurs.
    Here is a similar thread for you to take a look:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/56d803d7-8573-4c29-9f6b-c63023941f44/manage-content-and-structure-cannot-move-or-copy-items?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious
    To copy or move files/items between sites, we need to have
    appropriate permissions on both sites.
    I recommend to check if the user has full control on both sites.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

  • 10.3.3 console hangs on many operations after upgrading to FF 8, not IE 8

    I've had WebLogic 10.3.3 installed on my laptop for quite a while. I have an AdminServer in a domain that I start every few days. Over time I've edited config data in the WebLogic console many times. I almost always use Firefox.
    A couple days ago I upgraded from Firefox 7 to Firefox 8.
    This morning I discovered that the admin console was behaving strangely. I was trying to add a new datasource. When I clicked on "New" it gave me the watch cursor and never changed. My CPU was low, and the tailing of the console log didn't show anything out of the ordinary. I eventually canceled the operation by clicking on a different entry in the left nav. I tried again, with the same result.
    I then tried to deploy a new application. I got to the directory with my EAR file, and I clicked the radio button for the EAR file, and clicked Next. Watch cursor. Nothing happened. I tried this again. Same result.
    I then manually killed the server and restarted it, then tried both of these tests again. Same result.
    Then, I thought perhaps this had something to do with Firefox 8. I first tried bringing up IE 8 and started down the app installation test. No problem. I didn't fully install the app, but it got past the point that I was blocked with Firefox 8. I then tried using my Firefox IETab plugin to change the rendering engine to IE, and I tried the datasource test case again. Also no problem. It let me create the datasource with no problem.
    I guess I'm going to have to figure out how to revert to Firefox 7.

    II have a similar problem.  After installing 8.2 on my iPad3 performance is much worse.  In Safari, some pages seem to take 2 or 3 times as long to load and I have gone from feeling my iPad is quick and responsive to feeling it is sluggish.  Also, I have a lot of raw photos in the photos app that were loaded via the camera connection kit when I was on IOS 7.  It used to be great browsing them - very snappy.  Now each image takes 7 to 10 seconds to render - unusable.  I had an Apple Genius check it out, and he ran diagnostics and found that a process that renders images was crashing, and advised that I do a clean restore via ITunes which I Did.  Web browsing seems a little better, but still slow.  The slow renedering of raw images in Photos is unchanged - still 7 to 10 seconds.  Called Apple support who ran diagnostics again and said all was O.K.   Only suggestion was to restore software again, but this time don't allow restore to restore any data to create a completely virgin installation.  Haven,t done this yet, but not very hopeful.  Very disappointed - should never have upgraded, and of course you can't go back.  Been using Apple stuff for 30 years, and I think the fact that Apple will not let you install a previous version is one of the things I like the least.  If anybody has any ideas, they would be appreciated.  I do plan to try loading a new raw file into Photos to see if loading raw files on IOS 8.2 gives a different result.

  • How to sinck data between  production and R12 instance

    Hi,
    I am working on Oracle Apps up-gradation project.
    Now I have upgrade 11.5.7 to R12 (12.0.4) successfully. I started up-gradation task with 1 May of production data (backup) on new machine.
    Client wants to live R12 from 1/August/2009.
    Please suggest how to sinck data between production and R12 instance.
    Thanks
    Anup

    Hi,
    It is not possible to do what you propose (sync data from an 11.5.7 system to a 12.0.4 system). You will need to re-run the upgrade against the August 1 data, following your original upgrade procedures.

  • CS4 Upgrade and Previous Versions of Photoshop

    As a long-time Photoshop user, I have upgraded my versions of Photoshop over the years and currently have the CS4 Photoshop Upgrade loaded on my computer.  I have an older computer with limited hard drive space and am running out of room.  Is it necessary to keep all the previous versions of Photoshop on my computer's hard drive in order for the already-loaded on my computer CS4 Photoshop Upgrade to run?  In other words, can I remove the earlier versions (like Photoshop 4, Photoshop 6 Upgrade, Photoshop 7 Upgrade, and CS2 Photoshop Upgrade) and still have CS4 Photoshop Upgrade run ok?  I'm trying to clean up hard drive space and would like to make space by deleting the previous versions, but I don't want to mess up my CS4 Photoshop Upgrade if that program somehow ties into components from the previous upgrades.
    Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

    Thanks for the response.  I currently have CS4 Photoshop Upgrade version already on my computer.  In addition to that, I also have on it Photoshop 4.0, Photoshop 5.5, Photoshop 6.0 Upgrade version, Photoshop 7.0 Upgrade version, and CS2 Photoshop Upgrade.  What I need to know is can I remove the earlier versions of Photoshop or will it negatively affect the operation of CS4 Photoshop Upgrade (since it's not the full version and only an upgrade of the upgrades installed earlier)?  (The only full version of Photoshop I have is Photoshop 4.0 -- everything after that was upgrade versions.)
