Operating system Ipod classic to Ipod video

Do you know if it will be a update for Ipod Video 30-60-80 GB?
Because the new system and cover flow for Ipod Classic are so beautiful.
Sorry for my English
Thanks
Ha, what is the music in the publicity for the Ipod Touch in the Keynote?
I love them ( Keynote, 47:05 )

I don't think they will update it. Neither for the nano(ha! obviously).
If the classic was a complete update to the 5.5G video, they would've made updates available, like what they did with the early version of the video(w/o the search featurette).
But no, the classic has new thinner hard drives and different interface so I doubt they will release an update.

What Itunes version can i use both and ipod classic and ipod touch?

    Hello laurie0823,
already have ipod 32 gig and just go ipod touch 8 gig can i use both on same itunes account?
Yes. There is no limit to the number of iPods you can have synced with one iTunes account or library.
if i hook up ipod touch will i lose all of the stuff in library or can i sync library to ipod touch?
No you can sync your content to any number of devices.
Simply, plug new iPod in, configure it to sync with iTunes library however you wish and be on your way.

  • Is there any way to update operating system in a 40GB iPod Classic?

Is there any way to upgrade the software in a 40gb iPod Classic? It is circa 2004/2005.

The latest version of software for your iPod is shown in the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes.  If an update is available, notification will be there.  If it says "Your iPod software is up to date," you have the latest software.

  • Can the Ipod Classic hold uncompressed video?

Can an ipod classic hold an uncompressed video, say a .DV file or even mpeg-2, then somehow be hooked up to a tv and watched with no loss of quality?
I have little interest in watching movies on that little screen, but I'd like to store a couple movies to take over to a friend's house and play on the tv...
    thanks.

schmoel, you can't work with uncompressed stuff (see THIS)
However, there are some excellent file converters out there, specifically designed to output the iPod Classic format, and to choose whether you'll be watching on screen or TV.
    Personally, I use VisualHub

  • Using 160Gb iPod classic as portable video player to play 1080i movies

Hi, I have a 160gb iPod Classic. I use it to store and transport my DVD movies so that I can play them back on the car or on trips when we are away by connecting the ipod to a TV. I noticed that when using Handbrake, it converts the video to 496x208 (or thereabouts based on the source).
My question is, can the ipod store and replay (via a TV component connection) 1080i movies?
    Thanks,
    Fernando

No. see the movie spec on http://support.apple.com/kb/SP572.

  • Will apple repair my ipod classic 80g with video?

I got my ipod classic 80g in 2006.  I used it for a couple years and was very satisfied.  It was in a backpack that was tossed carelessly, and then stopped working.  The screen does not display anything except for some black lines.  The physical casing is not broken however.  When I plug it into a computer, I can hear the harddrive spinning, but itunes won't recognize it, and it won't show up as a device on my computer.  I have waited so long to inquire about a repair because I have replaced it a couple of times with other ipods.  I would really like to have this one repaired as I don't have an ipod curretently. And, instead of buying a new ipod classic, I would like to have this one repaired.  I read that it would cost $129 to repair this ipod.
I would like to know however, if I spend $129 will apple repair my ipod for sure?  If it is deemed unrepairable, will I get a replacement?  Or will they refund my money?
Thanks for reading and giving your time.
    -Madison Albert

Apple doesn't actually repair iPod, but does an out of warranty exchange of it for a refurbished model of the same generation and capacity.
And it will cost $129 according to this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&viewlocale=en_US&geo=United_St ates&product=ipod&select=REPAIR_PRICING

  • Updating from iPod Classic to iPod Touch

I currently have an iPod Classic and am syncing it on a PC. Yesterday I purchased an iPod Touch and would like to sync it on my Mac Book instead of the PC. How do I transfer my library from my Classic on the PC to my iTouch on the Mac? If I back-up my entire library, I'm looking at burning up 10 CD's...there has to be an easier way.
    Thanks for your help.

You can use the Classic as an external hard drive. Enable disk use, delete its music files under Windows Explorer (be sure to enable viewing of hidden files and folders or else you won't see any music files), and then think of the Classic as just a big portable hard disk. Put all your music and video files onto it. Carry it to the Mac, plug it in, and upload all the files to the Mac.
Now you can disable disk use on the Classic and resync it to the iTunes library on the PC, returning everything to the way it was.

  • How do I transfer music from ipod classic to ipod touch?

I have an old 30GB iPod Classic with a lot of music on it. I just inherited my son's iPod Touch. Is there a way to transfer my music files (about 1100 songs) from the old one to the new one. Some of the songs were downloaded from the iTunes Store, others were made from my own CD's.
Also, my son and I each have our own iTunes accounts. Can I safely switch the newer iPod Touch from his account to mine?
    Tim

Since no one is responding to my question, I will post some ideas I have gotten from browsing other peoples' questions.
It seems that the first thing I should do is follow instructions to move all of my son's iTunes Store purchased content from the iPod Touch to his iTunes account on his Macbook Pro. Then he should be able to sync it to his new iPhone 5 or not, depending on whatever he wants to do with it. But at least, it would not be lost.
I have already copied the purchased content from my old iPod Classic to my iTunes account on his Macbook Pro. However, I would still need to obtain some third party software to copy my non-purchased content from the Classic to my account on the Macbook Pro.
Then, the next step might be to change the iTunes account on the Touch from his to mine. Is this a safe operation?
Then, I should be able to sync the Touch to my iTunes account on his Macbook Pro, thus getting all of my content onto the Touch.
Does the above sound like a reasonable course of action? Would any additional steps be advisable? Thank you very much for any advice you could provide.
    Tim

  • No matter what I do I cannot restore ipod classic. Ipod is corrupt with unknown error 1439.cannot restore the ipod Have tried all options but . can anyone help?

I recently bought a second-hand ipod classic.  When connecting to itunes the message reads that the ipod is corrupt and needs to be restored to factory settings.  However, this does not solve the issue and I get the message saying unable to restore, unknown error 1439.  No matter what i have tried through apple support i get the same result.  My computer runs Windows XP but I have also tried on my laptop which operates Vista and still no joy.  Anyone able to solve this one?

Normally unknown error is due to timeout, cause by
connected to slow USB port at the front of the PC, or using USB Hubs - Better connect to the USB HUb at the back of the PC. (Some Laptop, has only one High Power -USB2.0 port
USB resource low, due to sharing of other USB devices - Disconnect all other USB devices when Restoring.
Winsocks conflict with iTunes - Disconnect Internet and Stop firewall and Antivirus, emails apps.
Your hardisk is dying, read this earlier post by tt2.

This wont solve your problem. but is very helpful in troubleshooting.
It would also help, if you can state
Which version of iTunes are your running?
What is your iPod software version as shown in the iTunes summary page?
    Have a nice day!

  • Tunes from ipod classic to ipod touch

my laptop pouched and all my songs are on there question is i got new ipod touch how do i get my old songs that are on my ipod classic to my desktop so i can put same songs from ipod classic to the ipod touch?

I have 1 library and have 3 ipods including a touch. I create playlists for the touch and only sync those since the capacity of the touch is smaller than the classic. At sync time itunes will give you the option to choose which playlist to sync to the touch.

  • In a change from Dial-up to Broadband, can I upgrade Mozilla add ons on Foxfire 3.6.28 in 10.4.11 operating system so I can watch videos?

I have a Mac mentor who gave me an old iBook out of the kindness of her heart and I've enjoyed using it very much. I can't afford to buy a new laptop.
I just changed to Broadband so I can get faster reception and watch videos and listen to audios on the Net. I want to copy videos from Utube, but I don't get continuous reception, but only longer segments than before with a jerk in between. There is a notice in the upper right hand corner of the screen that asks me to upgrade plug ins, but I fear that my 10.4.11 operating system will not support the upgrade. Do I have to and can I upgrade my operating system on an old iBook that was conceived in the early stages of Mac laptops or can I just upgrade the plug ins that I have? I'm afraid to change what is there. Can someone help me do this myself without bothering my busy mentor with something that I ought to be able to do myself?

You can update Flash Player to 10.1.102.64, which is the last version that works on your system. This should be sufficient for most sites.

You can use the Video DownloadHelper add-on to save videos from sites like YouTube.

If that's the computer you used to ask the question, then no. It has a PowerPC processor. To run the latest version of Firefox, you need at least Mac OS X 10.6, which in turn requires an Intel processor ([http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575 see system requirements for Mac OS X 10.6]).
Note that your operating system, browser and plug-ins, all contain security vulnerabilities that put your computer at risk. You can switch your browser to TenFourFox, an up-to-date third-party build of Firefox that runs on Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5 on PPC processors. However, it doesn't support plug-ins (like Flash Player).

  • Changing iPod Classic for iPod Touch

    Hello,
My dad went to USA a little while ago, and while being there I asked him to bring a iPod touch for me. He sayed he would, but when he arrived in Holland he didn't brought the Ipod Touch but the iPod Classic.. He sayed he will look how to change it, but he still didn't find a way to do that.
Now I searched a little bit too but I didn't find any e-mailaddresses to mail to or something. So I'll ask it here:
Does anybody knows if it is possible to change a Ipod bought in San Fransisco (America) in Holland (Europe)? And if it is, who/what do I have to contact? If it isn't, what do you recommand me to do?
    Thanks in advance,
    Luc

Does anybody knows if it is possible to change a Ipod bought in San Fransisco (America) in Holland (Europe)?
Sorry but no, it will almost certainly not be possible to return a US-purchased iPod in Europe. The iPod would in all probability have to be returned to the US Apple Store (presuming that it was purchased at the Apple Store), and by the time you paid for shipping and the probable restocking fee - 10% if the package was opened - and the iPod would have to arrive back at the Apple Store returns center within 14 calendar days from the date it was purchased - you'd probably be better off just selling the Classic and putting the money toward an iPod touch.
    Regards.

  • IPod classic and iPod nano - two mediathek possible?

We had first an iPod nano, now we also have iPod classic. A iPod nano is too small for the hole mediathek of iPod classic - how can I make differences for the automatic "synchronizing"? For iPod classic I want to use the old mediathek too. And additional, how can I transfer mediathek to another place (path)?

I don't know if these work yet on the 120GB, but they do on my 80.
WinAmp and Media Monkey. If you can feel comfortable enough to move away from iTunes, try either of those. I recommend Media Monkey because it will scan your whole iTunes library and let you manually manage the files. Even if you have music not in the iTunes library, you can still add that to the iPod because MM will scan whatever folders you tell it to and add them to it's own library files, so you can then sync your iPod with music from any folder. Just be sure to check "force iTunes folder style" under player options, so the music shows and plays on your iPod correctly. I didn't use enough of WinAmp with my iPod to recommend it(I only use it for it's great LAME MP3 encoder), but it does have iPod plug-ins to sync your iPod and should scan your music files also.
HOWEVER, you may still need to install iTunes 8 in case you need to restore the iPod. I always keep iTunes installed just in case.
