Operating system update

I am running MAC OS X 10.6.8 but need 10.7.4 to download some software (Adobe After Effects trial). The problem is that there is no updates for this. Any help?

10.7.4 is not a Update. It is a new version of OS X and must be bought from the Mac App Store. Problem is that version of OS X, which is called Lion, is not readily available from the MAS. You must first call Apple and order it. They will send you a Email to the Email address registered to your Apple ID with a Redemption code that you use on the MAS to download and install Lion OS X 10.7.5

Mac OS X 10.7.5, which requires getting a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store and a download code for 10.7 by phoning them.

Snow Leopard, Mac OS X 10.6, is not iCloud compatible.  You need to upgrade to Lion, Mac OS X 10.7, via a download from the app store...$29 (US), provided you had at least 10.6.6.  You can upgrade to 10.6.8 for free as part of the software updated function, then go to the app store and purchase the Lion download.
When you do that, before installing Lion, make a copy of the Lion Installer from the Applications folder where it downloads to some other location, such as your Documents folder, so you have a backup copy.
For Lion you must have at least an Intel Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7, or Xenon processor, 2 GB memory though 4 GB is better and 7 GB free space on the hard drive.
As part of 10.7.2 you end up with the iCloud connection.

  • Photos missing from iPhoto after operating system update

I recently updated my Macbook pro operating system to OS X version 10.10.1 and iPhoto to version 9.6 (910.29).  After the updates, most of my albums in iPhoto are empty and in the photos folder, all photos pre-dating 2010 are missing.  How do I recover these photos?

Obvious: restore from the back up you made prior to upgrading.
    If that's not possible:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

to go to microsoft due to a fake operating system,it also states windows 7 ,i dont have windows 7 i have visa.the only thing extra i did after reinstalling my system was updating, please help

    Hi,
Firstly, please make sure you have a genuine Operating System.
Then verify that your copy of Windows Vista is activated, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, and then click Computer.
2.Click System properties on the toolbar, and view the Windows Vista activation status in the
Windows activation area at the bottom of the System properties
    box.
After that, try to open Control Panel again for test.
If the issue still persists, repair your installation as the reference below:

i am unable to upload songs on to my new ipod because it requires itunes 7.1.1, and i am unable to download itunes 7.1.1 because i only have mac os x 10.2.8
I have tried downloading more recent versions of mac os x but they all fail...
the problem is that my computer has been offline for 9 months and hasnt been constantly updating as it previously did and now ive finally got it back online i dont know where to start. please help!!!
will i have to buy a new operating system....if so, which one???
    cripes!!

imparja, Welcome to the discussion area!
OS 10.2.8 is the last free upgrade to the OS 10.2 series. See KB 75421, Mac OS X 10.2: Chart of available Mac OS software updates.
There is no free way to go from OS 10.2.8 to OS 10.3 or OS 10.4.
You could go to OS 10.4 or OS 10.3 but you will need to buy the upgrade. BTW, you don't need OS 10.3 to get to OS 10.4.

  • Operating system updating for Iphone

I do not know how to update my operating system.  There is no button in my general screen to download one.  I have been to the Apple store, and they said I would need to do the upload from my computer to the phone, but I do not know how to initiate it.  Thanks for any help you can provide.

Connect it to your computer and upgrade in iTunes
The Over The Air upgrade is only available with iOS 5 and above

  • AT300 tablet wont boot after operating system update

    Hi
I ran an automatic update on my ICS AT300 tablet and now it will not boot. I have ran a factor reset but the results are still the same.
When I power the device on it runs the TOSHIBA Leading Innovation screen and then goes to the loading screen but does not go any further.
    Please help?

Did you try to boot the tablet in safe mode to check if this is possible?
To reboot into safe mode, press and hold the power button until the power options menu appears.
Then press and hold the Power Off option until youll be asked if you want to reboot your Android device into safe mode. Tap the OK button.
Then the Safe Mode should in the left bottom corner of the screen.
In safe mode, you have got an access to the apps that came with your device.
Apps youve installed will be disabled.
If your issue does not appear in Safe Mode, the problem occurs to a third-party app youve installed.
While apps are disabled, you can uninstall them normally.
Open the Settings screen -> Apps -> locate the app you want to uninstall and tap the Uninstall button. if youve installed any apps recently, you should probably try uninstalling those apps first.
If youre experiencing major problems with your device, you may want to skip all the troubleshooting and restore your device to its factory default settings. Open the Settings screen -> Backup & reset -> click Factory data reset, and follow the instructions on your screen.
    _By the way._
To exit safe mode, pess the power button, select Power Off and restart your device in normal mode.

  • New operating system update

Ever since we downloaded the latest iPad update our iPads not only don't since anymore but have lost our 4000+ songs off the device to "iCloud". Since I use my iPad on planes and my son uses his on busses, iCloud is useless. The only device that we have that will now sync is my archaic 80mb iPod, how does that make any sense??????
I see no value in the cloud, how do I return our devices to syncing with our apple computer ????
    Thanks
