which operating systems can iTunes be used on?
i Believe chrome books are not supported yet, so is it just windows and Mac Osx?

It is Windows and Mac OS only - probably doubtful that chrome or android will become supported.
The minimum requirements for the current version of iTunes are :
Mac :
Mac computer with an Intel Core processor
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
400MB of available disk space
Windows :
PC with a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor and 512MB of RAM
Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
400MB of available disk space

I downloaded the latest operating system for my iPhone 5. It worked fine for about two minutes then the phone requested a password number to continue. Each time I inserted numbers, which were incorrect, the phone would lock up for a certain period of time. Now, it says “iPhone is Disabled”. That means it can find the Hard Drive, or can't find the things needed for booting.
See if DU even sees it.

1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.) -
Since I upgraded to the new iOS 7 operating system for my iphone, I can no longer adjust the volume on my alarm. No matter what setting the volume of my phone is my alarm is always full blast. Since I hate being startled awake, what can I do?
Go to your home screen, and then press the volume down or up button. It should say Ringer instead of volume. If it doesn't do that, try going into the clock app and try it there.

Is it possible to run two different versions of Apple operating system (for ex. 10.6.8 and 10.9) on a MacBook Pro, either on the same disk or from an external hard disk? If so, where would I find the details? (In order to be able to use the older applications no longer supported in 10.9)
If you want to add a second partition to the internal drive (in Disk Utility, select the drive, then open the partition tab and just click the + button), you should first be sure that you will have enough room to accommodate whatever the second volume will be. I am currently doing this for Snow and Mountain Lion.
To get to whatever volume is not the startup disk, restart and hold down option/alt at the chime, which will bring up a selection of the two volumes. Use the left or right arrow keys to select it and then hit enter/return. -

Best operating system for music applications( or most popular)
hi, gonna be buying a mac laptop.
im not feeling leopard for coupla reasons.
im new to all this by the way. so dont know about the diff versions of operating systems for mac........i just know tiger 10.4 was one prior.
for music software, which op system and version is most compatible with the various music apps and vst companies etc out there. like i dont mind not using the latest versions of popular programmes like pro tools and logic and ableton.
leopared is very specific and not backwards compatiblewith alot of software it seems.

If you have tiger, stay with it, its solid. There is no reason to use leo at the moment!
There is nothing you cannot do with tiger concerning audio.
When its time to upgrade, you can do, but who knows.....

What FUD. Seriously. Plenty of people on this board are running leopard with no problem. My leopard is solid, and it runs logic and reason.
Leopard worked fine on my G5.
As for the comment about leopard not being able to run tiger....well, that's kinda mind blowing. -
An app requires a later operating system but iTunes indicates phone has latest operating system when I sync with the computer. How do I get latest system if iTunes says I have the latest?
If you have a Verizon iPhone 4, the current version of iOS is 4.2.10. You can not install anything higher at this point. The next release of iOS will most likely be iOS 5.

I just tried to upload the new operating system for my I phone 4s , I get to the terms and conditions, when touch "agree" it opens up and I touch agree again and it closes and nothing more happens
Reset and start all over again.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
