Operation 10 ToMove in Discrete Job status

Hi,
Does anyone knows why some DJ in the status of operation 10 ToMove has components assigned to, while some DJ has the same status don't have components.
Thanks,
AKM

Are you comparing the DJ for the same assembly?
The components for the standard DJ are copied from the referred BOM (primary/alternate) during job creation.
The material requirement operation will decide that on which routing step the material should be available
If the jobs under discussion are non standard make sure that both refer the same BOM

  • WIP Discrete Job status

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to add a custom Discrete job status? We would like to use it to mass
    close jobs.
    Thanks.
    Gregg

Right now users are manually updating the status to Complete(irrespective of quantity complete of not). They want this process to be automated for the jobs after three days from scheduled start date, since they have so many in a day. For automation is there any available functionality or If write a custom program to update the status what other tables do i have to update other than wip_discrete_jobs?
    Any ideas, appereciate your help.
    Thanks.

  • Change Department after the Discrete Job got Completed

    Hi All,
Please let me know how to change the Department (in Operations) even after the Discrete Job got completed.
This is in Oracle Applications (11.5.10),Oracle Work in Process module.
    Thanks a lot.

You will have to undo completion, then undo every operation step (including resource transactions), modify the resource requirements to 0, add new operations and resource requirements and take the job thru' completion.

  • Discrete job is finishing with status 'Complete-No Charges'

    Hi,
Some of our discrete jobs are getting completed with no charges. I wanted to know the name of API/Package which is changing/updating the status of job as 'Completed-No Charges'.
    Regards,
    Jaspreet Singh

    Hi Jaspreet,
Normally once all the activities on the job were done, then the job status will get changed to complete. As per my knowledge, there is no API for changing the job status to "Complete-No changes". If you want this to be analyzed, please generate the FND logs by setting the following profile options and then try to re-produce the issue . Once the log is generated, then we can analyze the log.
1.Enable the INV and WIP profiles for debugging.
FND: Debug Log Filename = (Make sure this is null)
FND: Debug Log Enabled = Yes
FND: Debug Log Level = Statement
FND: Debug Log Module = WIP%
    2. run the below query and take a note of the output
         select max(log_sequence) from fnd_log_messages;
    3. Finish the job
    4. Once completed run the following sql script:
         select message_text from fnd_log_messages where log_sequence> '&Log_seq received from step 2';
    5. Upload the the SQL output (which you got from setp4) generated from the above sql script

  • Serialization Control in WIP Discrete JOB

    Hi everybody,
I want perform a Discrete job which consists of 7 operations.10, 30, 50 and 70 are with Count Point & Auto Charge options and the 20, 40, 60 operations are without Count Point and without Auto Charge. In the 30th operation the Serial Numbers will be generated for the Final assembly.
In routings i have specified the operating sequnce number i.e 30 in routing details window.
If we specify any Item as under Serial Control (Predefined) in Inventory then Serial Numbers button will be enabled in the WIP Discrete JOBS window. There we can assign the Serial Numbers to the JOB quantity.
But I am not able to perform neither Move Transactions nor Material Transactions in WIP even though my job is in Released status. My JOB name is not available in Move Transactions window.
Please help me to solve this problem.
    regards,
    VAS

    hai,
user guide says you can perform serialized move trans through oracle mobile supply chain applications using a mobile device, for further details you can refer metalink Is Serial Number Association Functionality Only Available Using Supply Chain Mobile Applications? doc:-note:265512.1,if you want to track serial numbers thro desktop appl then you will have have start serial tracking from the first operation itself but in your case it doesn't happen like that so i think you will have to use mobile device, once the serialization start operation number appears when you release a discrete job ,you cannot transct thro desktop appl, hope you are clear, post your feedback

  • Serial control in wip discrete jobs

    Hi gurus,
i had created a discrete job with serial control enabled for components.
but when trying to query for job im unable to get it.
so whats the mistake i did?
when going thru oracle white papers they mentioned to change profile option
TP:WIP Operation backflush setup to online processing mode.(for having serial control in job)
but i cant able to get the profile option in wip responsibilty.
will u pls guide what are mandatory steps for building discrete jobs with serial control and to perfor move transactions?
    waiting for solution pls.

    Dear Mr.Riccardo
I would like to bring to your notice a document from Metalink. It says that we cannot do move transaction of Serial controlled Items in Desktop forms.....
Subject: Is Serial Number Association Functionality Only Available Using Supply Chain Mobile Applications?
    Doc ID: Note:265512.1 Type: HOWTO
Last Revision Date: 01-APR-2004 Status: PUBLISHED
The information in this article applies to:
Oracle Work in Process - Version: 11.5.9
This problem can occur on any platform.
    Goal
Is the new functionality of Serial Number Association only available through Mobile Applications?
    Fix
This functionality provides support for standard discrete jobs with or without a routing.
The User Interface for this functionality is via Mobile Applications
Serialization can be activated within a job...this can be for entire job or beginning at
a specified operation. This new feature is optional. It is defaulted by org parameter and controlled at the job level. The user will need to define the default to steps for the moves.
When turned on, then when Jobs are created automatically ...via CTO or Planning, the serial will be turned on.
The current functionality of serial number generation and uniqueness is used. Auto-generation and association at the time of job creation via Mass Load is added with this functionality. Also import of serials from 3rd party systems is supported.
The serial association can occur anytime during or after job creation. Users can use pre-generated or on-the-fly serial numbers. This association is also not tied to job quantity and is changeable until assigned to a specific unit.
Once the job is 'Serialized', you cannot transact this job through any of the Desktop forms. A new Menu structure is added in the Mobile Applications called 'Serialized Assembly and Material Transaction'.
Users utilize the mobile pages under this menu to perform serialized move or completiontransactions.
These assembly items for which the serial numbers are associated at the time of creating the wip job itself can be transacted only through Mobile Supply Chain Applications (MSCA) .

  • Discrete Jobs in 11i

Looking for feedback on processes/procedures you may have in place at your sites. How do you handle jobs that you close short? Here are a couple of different scenarios:
    1) Job is issued for 100 and at first operation (shear) you realize that you can only make 85. There are 3 more subsequent operations.
    2) Job is issued for 100 and after last operation (plating) you have only 95 pieces coming out of kettle.
    3) Job is for 100 and after kitting all components you assemble only 85 pieces and deem job finished due to other priorities.
Just wondering if you change the status in the discrete form? How do you get job closed etc.? Going live in less than 3 months and there are still many procedures to reconcile with how we used to do it and how we are going to do it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Michael-
    1) Job is issued for 100 and at first operation
(shear) you realize that you can only make 85. There
are 3 more subsequent operations. You could reduce the job qty to 85 if for instance you decide to only make 85 because you only have components enough for 85.
    2) Job is issued for 100 and after last operation
(plating) you have only 95 pieces coming out of
kettle. You should be issuing 5 pieces to scrap. This will account for all pieces and the job will close on it's own.
    3) Job is for 100 and after kitting all components
you assemble only 85 pieces and deem job finished due
to other priorities. You could leave 15 in the kitting queue and change the status of the job to complete but of course you'll get a variance.

  • Work in process discrete jobs

I can't understand why is it possible in work in process(discrete jobs) to Move assemblies even if you haven't issued components to that job,it means that you can complete assemblies without issuing material why is that the case please clarify.

Sometimes you have shortages of a component and the component is such that it can be added to the assembly a little later.
The above functionality allows you to move past an operation so you can record that it was attempted/done partially.
But by keeping the material requirement open, you can keep track of what needs to be issued to the job once the onhand is available.
If your client does not want this to occur, you can either make the component operation pull or create a personalization /customization on the move screen that disallows the move if any push component is not issued.
A lot of companies manage this by creating reports that show unissued material. You can do that too.

  • Discrete job History tab shows wrong completed qunatity

    Hi All
We are facing an issue, When we perform the WIP completion trx thru mobile apps the completed quantity in discrete job history is not in sink with the transaction. Can any one comment on this issue.
    job qnty:256
    job status:Closed
    In history tab
    remaning qnty:135
    completed qnty:121
Performed the WIP completion trx for qnty 135 and then for qnty 121 thru mobile apps
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Forum.
First off if the job belongs to a open INV period, unclose the job (WIPUser>>Discrete>>Close Discrete Jobs>>Close Discrete Jobs (Form)>>Tools>>Unclose).
Then check if there are any pending WIP completions from back end using
    peding LPN drop-
    SELECT *
    FROM apps.WIP_LPN_COMPLETIONS WLC,
    apps.WMS_LICENSE_PLATE_NUMBERS LPN
    WHERE WLC.ORGANIZATION_ID = 477
    AND WLC.LPN_ID = LPN.LPN_ID
    AND LPN.LPN_CONTEXT = 2
    AND WIP_ENTITY_ID = :P ---your WIP_entity_id
    -- Pending Material Transactions
    SELECT *
    FROM apps.MTL_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS_TEMP MMTT
    WHERE ORGANIZATION_ID = 477
    AND TRANSACTION_SOURCE_TYPE_ID = 5
    AND TRANSACTION_TYPE_ID = 44 ---WIP ASSY COMPLETION
    AND TRANSACTION_SOURCE_ID NOT IN
    (SELECT TXN_SOURCE_ID
    FROM apps.MTL_TXN_REQUEST_LINES
    WHERE TXN_SOURCE_ID = MMTT.TRANSACTION_SOURCE_ID
    AND ORGANIZATION_ID = MMTT.ORGANIZATION_ID
    AND LINE_STATUS = 9)
    AND TRANSACTION_SOURCE_ID = :P ---your WIP_entity_id
If you have records in this check then and try to manually drop the LPN into the destination subinventory.

  • Unrelease Discrete Job become demand in MRP.

    Hi,
I facing a problem that need to know.
In PCBA environment which the discrete job only issue once because all the process is link together. However, in the Plastics environment which will break into two proseses which MOLDING as one and ASSEMBLY as another. There will be two different discrete job issue to this in order to complete a FG goods.
PFDX1081UA is the Assemblt FG for the plastics environment. The purchase part is L6HAYYYK0010. When I check the discrete job for the PFDX1081UA which entered MRP NET QTY as 30,000 and the status of the discrete job is unrelease.
The demand in the Purchase part L6HAYYYK0010 which treat this unrelease discrete job qty as demand.
    Is this correct?
How come the discrete job quantity for the PCBA will not show as demand in MRP?

Please expand your question ; I could not able to understand the issue well. From the subject of the questions"Unreleased Discrete Job become demand in MRP.", I can say that unreleased jobs will be considered for MRP Plan provided if it is MRP Planned item.
In this case, unreleased job will be considered as Supply and Components associated with the Job will be considered as Demand (If it is MRP Planned item).
This is correct logic by design.
    thanks,

  • OEM job : How to force job status after a PLSQL job run?

    Hello,
We are under 10gR2, using OEM with a lot of jobs that call PLSQL procedures.
For some obscur reason, when a PLSQL procedure fails, the job status is always "Succeeded". This is not useful at all !!!
So, as we don't kow why, I was thinking about setting the return job status in the PLSQL procedure itself ...
    Is it possible ?
How can I do that ?
I hope that my explanation is clear.
    Thanks for your help,
    Olivier

    Hi Olivier
I dont understant the first time.
Yes its very stange that the job appear like suceed and the PL procedure had failed.
If you want more control to this situation, in my situation i had too much problems with jobs that executing SQL scripts.
Then i change the SQL SCRIPT JOB for OS SCRIPTS JOB and in this scripts i can controlling the execution
    This an example
    Job Statistics.sh
Gric Control --> Job --> Operating System Script
/home/oracle/script.sh --> In the parameter line of the job
    # the script.sh
    ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/10.2
    ORACLE_SID=PROD
    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus "/ as sysdba" << EOF
    execute dbms_mview.refresh('MVIEW_SALES','f');
    EOF
    res=$?
    if [ ${res -ne 0 }
    then
    mailx -s THE_JOB_HAD_ERRORS [email protected]
    else
    mailx -s ok_execution [email protected]
    fi
In my enviroment was a solution to control the exact execution of the jobs

    Thanks
    Vijay

If you are in the same period as you closed the job then go to Discrete Jobs>>Close Discrete Jobs Form>> Tools>> Unclose.
Once unclosed then you can change it to released.
If you are not in the same period, you cannot change the status.

  • ESYU: Canceled 상태의 WIP Work order나 Discrete job을 purge 할 수 있는 방법

    Purpose
Oracle Work in Process - Version: 11.5.2 to 11.5.10
WIP 사용자 중 Canceled status의 Discrete Jobs이나 WIP Work Orders를 purge
    Solution
    Work Around:
    1. WIP: Discrete> Close Discrete Jobs> Close Discrete Jobs(Form)으로 이동한다.
    2. Find Discrete Jobs parameter에 아래와 같이 입력한다.
From Job = Close를 원하는 Job
To Job = Close를 원하는 Job
    Status = Canceled
    3. Tools menu에서 Close 1을 선택한다.
