OPERATION DETAILS IN ROUTING

Hi Experts
In the operation details of routing- CA01 there is control -either based on time or Quantity for every operation. What it mean. If time based is it denoting the time for the particular operation. What it mean if "quantity based " is preferred. Can I have details please.
Also will you give a scenario with some operations mentioned where I can use routing.
Pranav

Hi Gajesh, Thanks
I take your case - "Suppose you have 4 operation. Forming, lathing , quality checks and painting. Normaly in production system you will have a quality check in between the process".
here check necessary in 3rd step - quality check. So am I to select time based / quantity based for operation -3 only ( because only it will have MIC ). Can I go without selecting time based / quantity based option also (if so how - what option i need select in the operation details for the 3rd operation).
Next, in CO11N. I confirm operation -1 ( here what option I hav to select - either partial confirmation / final confirmation). As per my logic, only partial confirmation need to be selected (what quantity I hav to enter here for yield- is it the total production order quantity = total target quantity).
similarly, 2nd operation- lathing- I select partial confirmation- enter yield/scrap etc
3rd operation is qc check- is it possible that production person will confirm this step in co11n itself without waiting for the qc person to confirm using QA32. ( here what yield to be entered and how if we use QA32 )
4th -painting - finally ( as my logic goes -final confirmation selected and operation confirmed for the total production order quantity)
Tell me if right. I noticed that if final confirmation option selected in the first operation itself, all the 4 operations can be confirmed in the co11n itself ( by selecting final confirmation option for all 4 operations)by the production department. Am i wrong somewhere. If this is so, how Qc person has control over the process.
Also what yield /scrap quantity will be entered for each 4 operations in co11n ( is it mean the wastage occuring in each step =scrap and remaining quantity =yield). If so the final yield by operation -4 will be surely less than the production order quantity ( if wastage occurs during lathing/forming)

  • Track Changes made in Routing Operation Detail

    Hi gurus,
I need your help with Routings.
We have a process where if a change is made into the Routing, we have the Change Master process and a Change number is assigned to this Routing.
For example, if a change is made into the Description of the "Operation" into the Routing, I can see this change with transaction CA60 and CA61.
But, if a change is made into the "Operation Details" i.e.:  change the labour data or the overlapping data (where before it was Required overlapping and now is No overlapping); this kind of change into my Routing is not showed in transactions CA60 or CA61.
I checked that a changed was made because the "Changed on" field was updated and "Changed by" field.
Then, I checked the tables CHDHR and CDPOS and I can see that a document was created with the changed that I did, but, it does not show the detail of my change (i.e. old value was: Required overlapping, new value is: No overlapping).
Do you know where I can see that my change was made? Or, is it possible to track these kinds of changes into SAP? where and how?
Many thanks for your time and your feedback will be very well appreciated!
    Regards,
    Sandra

    Hi,
Look for the change history in change header and change positions.
The tables are CDHDR and CDPOS.

  • Routing operation details printing

    Hi Team,
I need to print the supply area (While creating work center in CR01, we will assign the supply area to the work center) information agains the each operation of the routing.
From which table we can extract this supply area which is assigned to a particular work center to print?
your valuable answer will be very much appreciated.
    regards
    psk

    Hi psk,
I am not sure but you can check table P3000. There is field PRVBE (supply area) in it.
    Also, check transaction code OP42.

  • Total operation hours in routing

    Dear Experts,
Please suggest me what is the way to tackle the following scenario :
We are having 3 Work Centers say WC1, WC2, WC3 to carry out the different operations. Each work center requires 6 hours. It means if I use the standard sequence then total required hours will be 18 hr to produce 1000 pcs of FG X. But My client is producing 1000 pcs of FG X in 8 hours as second operation at WC2 begins when 1st operation on WC1 is being carried out on some quantity say 100 pcs. 7 same for the WC3.
How to control this situation as I am using the lead time scheduling in MRP run, this data gets coppied to planned order giving wrong finished date.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sagar

    Dear,
In Routing work center is maintain for an operation and each operation has different base quantity or production rate.
Work center      Operation detail                Production rate
    W1                    Operation          1                 200 Each/Hour
    W2                    Operation          2                 100 Each/Hour
    W3                   Operation           3                  90 Each /Hour
Now select first two operations and go to operation detail, In detail find a radio button Overlapping required and mark as required.
    For first operation
Now maintain Minimum overlap time 30 Min
and send ahead quantity          100 Each.
    For 2nd operation
Now maintain Minimum overlap time 30 Min
and send ahead quantity          50 Each.
I hope this will solve your issue.
    Thanks

  • Standard test key in operation overview in routing

Iam not able to see standard text key in operation overview in routing beside control key column. Any setting for it .

    hi,
I dont think that that the STK is dispalayed in the operation overview.
so first ensure that the STK is defined in the WORK centre basic data view. Then goback to the operation view of u r routing.
Double click on the operation ,then u will find in the OPERATION details view that u r STK is diplayed just below your CONTROL key.

  • Update required qualification in operation details for routings by LSMW

    Hi experts ,
I have requirement to update required qualification in operation details for routings through LSMW.
Is there any standard method which could be used to do the same.
Please guide and help. Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Jass Singh

The locator which you put in the Routing Details screen are for Completion (Stocking) Subinv and locator. It has nothing to do with Backflushing.
Now you can simply change the values as long as there are no new jobs created during the change.
FYI you can always look at the jobs created during the day/period and see if the completion loctor values are correct from the Descrete Jobs form.

  • Difference between parallel sequence and parallel operation in a routing.

    Hi Experts,
Can any one explain me with example the difference between parallel sequence and parallel operation in a routing? wHEN CAN WE USE PARALLEL OPEARTION AND PARALLEL SEQUNCE WITH COMPONENT ALLOCATION.
    Regards
    Deepak sharma

I think u need to modify ur quest... i think u r asking about Parallel sequence and alternate seq. Below are the details from SAP site.
A parallel sequence enables you to process several operations at the same time.
You use an alternative sequence for example, if
--The production flow is different for certain lot-size ranges
For instance you can machine a work piece on conventional machine or on NC machines. A NC machine has a longer set-up time than a conventional machine. However the machining costs are considerably less. Therefore whether you use NC machines will depend on the lot size.
---The production flow changes under certain business conditions.
For instance, if you have a capacity problem, you have some production steps performed externally by a vendor.

  • Operation number not holding in Operation details screen for WM6.2

    Hi Experts,
I have added custom statuses to operation object in WM6.2. When I am editing the operation,Operation number is displaying in operation details screen header. But when trying to execute custom statuses, the operation number is not holding in Operation tile view header as in the below screen snap.
    Thanks in advance.Kindly suggest.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sravanthi Polu

    Hi sravanthi,
Just make sure that when you are editing operation object for custom statuses change you are editing same object that you are seeing in operation details screen.
I think this problem is due to different/stale operation object that is being edited for when you are calling Operation Edit Transaction for change status for (custom statuses).
I recommend to check your Target for Button , Action and Edit Transaction for this (is it same operation object that is being seen on detail screen/being edited for).

  • Mass change for QM at operation level in routing

    Dear Experts,
I have to carry out mass change for Quality Management at operation level in routing. The steps that I am carrying out for an individual record are as follows.
    1.     CA02
    2.     Inspection point 100 is maintained at header level
    3.     Go to operation level
    4.     At operation level work center and control key have been maintained
    5.     Double click on operation
    6.     When I scroll down here I go to Quality Management: Inspection Points view.
    7.     There by default in Insp.pointCompletion system shows the option as u201CQuantity, valuation (production) and radio button selected default indicates u201CQty-relatedu201D
    8.     I want to change these options as only u201CValuationu201D and u201CNo relationu201D respectively
    My queries are,
    1.     Is there any T-code available to carry out these changes in mass?
    2.     Is it possible to do this without any Z development?
I am doubtful about using LSMW here. I would be highly grateful to you if someone can help me step by step.
    Thanking you,
    Anand Rao

    Hi Sujit,
    Thanks for your reply!
I tried CWBQM. Unfortunately could not succeed. I think may not be feasible through CWBQM.
But I came across T-Code CEWB . There I opted "SAP_OPERATION" as working area and it worked. Its quite useful T-Code.
    Thanks again for your input.

  • How to call a previous operation in the routing in the backend?

(We have a requirement to call a previous operation in the routing in the backend and create-assemble-complete the SFC.)
    Routing would be u2013 OPERATION_1 -> OPERATION_2 -> OPERATION_3
The SFC has not been create and we are using u201CCreate SFC On Demandu201D.
The production operator is given the SFC value to use, however, the POD is configured to START the SFC at OPERATION_2
The desire is to process the SFC at OPERATION_1 as a u201Cblindu201D operation to production.
The question: If we use a PRE_START activity, is it possible to launch the PRE_START activity at OPERATION_2 and have the activity:
    1) Create the SFC,
    2) Start the SFC at OPERATION_1,
    3) Assemble a child SFC (part of the activity information),
    4) Complete the SFC at OPERATION_1,
    5) Upon completion of the SFC at OPERATION_1 finalize the activity and allow the SFC to start at OPERATION_2 normally?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
a managed property only gives you a anlde to a bean or property, it doesn't execute it. To execute a bean, you can use a custom JSF PhaseListener that calls a bean method. The reference to the bean is achieve through value binding
    ValueBinding vb = FacesContect.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().createValueBinding("Name of Managed Bean);
    TypeOfBean theBean =(TypeOfBean) vb.getValue(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());
    .... theBean.theMethod() ...

  • Operation scrap in routing

    Hi All,
I want to know, what is the effect of maintaining operation scrap in routing? It does not effect the component qty allocated to that operation(as it dus in case of maintaining operation scrap in BOM).
    Pls guide

    Hi Gautam,
Operation Scrap In the Routing  is the amount of scrap (in percent) for the operation.
The  effect of operation Scrap in the Routing :
The scrap in the operation causes a decrease in quantity in the next  operation because the quantity to be processed is reduced by the scrap  quantity.
The reduction of quantity is taken into account in scheduling  and costing.
    Hope you understood the point.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

  • Tables to see operations of a routing that are already confirmed?

    Hi everyone,
I would be very grateful if someone could tell which tables should I access in order to know if an operation in a routing has or hasn't been already confirmed.
Thanks in advance and best regards.
    Ben.

If you are doing confirmation by operation wise by CO11N,change the confirmation type from partial to Final conf in the screen.
If you are doing by CO15, indicate radio button final confirmation when doing conf.
If you want automatic selection of final confirmation goto SPRO>SFC>DEFINE CONFIRMATION PARAMETER.
U can check in table AFRU table Order Confirmations.
Completion confirmation number for the operation.

  • Costing of the operation in the routing

    Hai gurus,
I have  5 sets of operation in the routing.
    a) Operation 10/20/30/40 and 50
    b)  In Operation 10/20 and 30 the , costing is active in  control key PP01
    c) In operation 40/50 the costing is in active in the control key zp01
If that is so, whether operation 40 and 50 will be considered for costing during confirmation or not
    regards,
    sekar chand

    Hi,
If the costing relevancy is ticked in control key & in operation. Along with the relevant prices maintained in KP26, system will do the costing. To double confirm, run CK11n for that material & verify the same.
Revert if you face any issues.

  • Rework operation in the routing

    Hi All,
We are in the REM process,  We plan to change the existing Routing so that need to include the rework as the operation in the routing.
we are not going to do rework for finished product (i.e after the confirmation). if any problem , we make it as the scrab.
we need to do the rework for the product before final stage of inspection itself  . ie. we have a inprocess inspection .
i.e we have a operation called soldering, if this is not done properly, we remove the soldering and do it again as a rework.
1.how to mapp this operation as rework in the routing
    2. whether  we need to create the separate routing for rework or we can add this rework operation in the same existing routing itself ?
    3. if we do rework for the assembly, we can do create the rework, but in the component stage itself
we need to do the rework.
Edited by: raj on Jun 5, 2009 7:37 AM

    Hi Ramaling,
my scenario is like , we have 10 operation, after the 3rd operation, we have the inspection as the 4th one.
if any qty have rework , we have done the rework manually .
so client need us to create the WC for rework and they need to find the cost inoccur for the rework
after rework was done ,all the other operation will continue  for the reworked materials.
how to include this rework WC in the routing what we used.
    is it advisable or not
if it is not how to mapp my scenario ?
