"Operation terminated unexpectedly" when synching BB with Outlook calendar

I have a Blackberry Curve, and my provider is Telus, and I'm no longer able to sync with my Outlook Calendar. I'm using Desktop Manager 4.2 to sync. I'm not syncing address book or tasks or anything else, so it is the calendar causing the issue.
The issue...
I sync, and the message box says that it's reading the device entries - no problem. Then it starts reading my Outlook entries, and it gets to record X (currently it's #27, but it sometimes changes), then I get a popup that says "The operation terminated unexpectedly".
When I first encountered this problem I was able to resolve it by resetting my sync configuration. After doing this successfully a number of times, it stopped fixing the problem, so I uninstalled/reinstalled the software a couple of times. This didn't work. I found a post suggesting I rename my Intellisync folder (C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry), and once I did this I was able to sync again!
But now my issue is back, and resetting the config doesn't work, and renaming/deleting the Intellisync folder doesn't work either. I've tried backing up and clearing my calendar DB on my BB, but the issue seems to be with an Outlook entry, so syncing still fails with the same error. I've also deleted several outlook entries around what I think is #27 - no luck.
The PtTrace.log says (among other things):
"Sun Jul 27 22:57:12 2008: Error 0x83110005.-2096037883.0 at .\syncconfigmanager.cpp line 1137
Sun Jul 27 22:57:13 2008: Error Failed to load CXLServer1.dll from the product directory..4005 at .\callback.cpp line 3610"
How can I debug this issue? Can you help me please?
Thanks!
Ali

  • Synching iphone with outlook calendar

I have just set up a new icloud account and attempted to synch with my outlook calendar and contacts. The outlook was synching with previous icloud account but it is not synching with the new icloud account. Help Please

No I meant icloud. The previous account was not old I just needed to separate business and personal accounts. Have subsequently solved the problem by going to icloud control panel and signing out, and then signing back in, deleting from computer and then signing back in with the same details.
Dont ask me why but it worked. If anyone does this make sure you click save a copy when that option comes up before you delete from computer so that you can retrieve contacts calendar etc - I key stroked too fast, missed it and lost my contacts and calendar

  • Error when syncing blackberry with Outlook calendar

I had sync all set up and working fine.  I would occassionally get an error, but could solve it by resetting the configuration, then reconfiguring it.  Now I get an error every time, even immediately after resetting/reconfiguring.  The log shows that the process is failing when it is reading a record from my Outlook calendar.  Even after I delete the offending record, and several before and after it, the sync process fails again!  Is there some reliable way to debug and fix this problem?

Unfortunately, I have again tried to sync my phone and calendar, and again it is unsuccessful. I changed the folder option as I did before from the Microsoft default (which resulted in the original error message: Operation Terminated Unexpectedly" when it came to a certain record).  I also changed the folder, restarted my computer, and tried again to sync but without success.  I am confused by all the information out there and can't make heads or tails of it all.  Can anyone help me figure this out?

Help!  Everything was synchronizing fine but then one day, just stopped working.  I rec'd an error message from "Intellisync" stating "The operation terminated unexpectedly".  I've tried to uninstall the DM software & reinstall several times but that doesn't help.  I tried to synch only from the device to Outlook & it worked once but the second time I rec'd the same error on record 194 of 398.

In my desparation to keeping trying different avenues, I tried uninstalling the DM again but reinstalled version 4.3.0.15 (Aug 15 '07) instead of the more recent versions (had previously tried both 4.5 and 4.6 with the same errors messages received).
My first attempt to synch my Outlook Calendar with v.4.3 didn't work either but for some reason, it does work now.  Go figure?  I'm just going to cross my fingers & hope this older version will continue to work.

  • Desktop Sync Software Error: "The Operation terminated unexpectedly" During Outlook Calendar Sync

My system is a standalone Dell PC running WinXP Pro SP3, Outlook 2003 SP3, and BB Desktop Software 6.1.0.36 (latest update).  Device is a Bold 9900.  Problem is with Blackberry Desktop synchronization of my Outlook Calendar; all other Organizer functions sync fine to Outlook 2003 if the Calendar is left un-sync'ed.  When Calendar sync is checked to Outlook, either alone or with the rest of the Organizer functions, sync seems to progress to a point and "sees" device (Bold 9900) and Outlook Calendars, sees all the calendar events (2518 at present in the Bold, 2444 in Outlook) and sees additions/deletions and changes.  It even gets as far as requesting verification of the changes required to sync.  When process to update proceeds, the device calendar is polled once more, then the error message "The Operation terminated unexpectedly" appears, process stops, and Desktop Software becomes "hung". Sometimes Outlook also hangs.  This occurs in both a "two-way sync" and a "one-way sync" (device over-writes Outlook).
Solutions on BB Support pages have been tried (deleted and replaced mapi32.dll file etc.) but most solutions offered appear to relate to later Outlook versions (2007 & 2010) and don't relate to Outlook 2003.  I have also deleted the IntelliSync folder in the Research in Motion folder and re-initiated sync configuration to no avail.  I especially like BB's coment on their Support page KB15735 (although it doesn;t mention Outlook 2003, nor Desktop Software 6.0):
This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
I previously used IntelliSync for a Palm 515 (and older Palm PDA's) on this PC with no problems.  Older versions of IntelliSync and Palm software were all removed before BB Desktop Software installation.  Also had tried un-installing Blackberry Desktop program and re-installing latest version.
The same Bold 9900 works fine syncing with my Win7 Pro 64 bit laptop running Outlook 2007 for all sync functions.  Am I destined to upgrade my old desktop to Outlook 2007 or is there another fix?
    TIA,
    Keith

  • Intellisync - The Operation Terminated Unexpectedly

I have a user that is trying to sync multiple calendars and contact folders for her Outlook mailbox and from one other person’s mailbox. She has all the correct permissions to read/edit/delete in Outlook to access the other mailbox.
Recently she reorganized the other person’s contacts in to different folders. Using the DM (4.3 at that time) we tried to change the folders syncing on her BB. In DM we click on Synchronize / Synchronization / Select Address book and click the Advanced button / Map Folder / click plus symbol next to other users name. DM errors with and Intellisync error - The Operation Terminated Unexpectedly. This did work before she made the changes.
    System:
    Original Setup: WindowsXP sp3 / Office 2007 sp2 / DM 4.3
    Current Setup: WindowsXP sp3 / Office 2007 sp2 / DM 5.0 sp1
    Have done the following:
Deleted RIM folder under user / application data (multiple times)
    Rebooted BB
Created new Outlook profile for just the blackberry
Upgraded DM to 5.0 sp1 (with proper removal of 4.3)
Verified MAPI permissions in Outlook that they have Editor rights to all contact / calendar folders
I have replicated problem on different computer and different BB unit. Seems like it’s not a problem with the handheld or DM as separate computer was fresh install.
I talked to RIM Support and after some additional help told that it’s a MAPI / Outlook permissions problem and they could not help.
    Any ideas?

  • Synching contacts with Outlook does not work

I have a Mac (with the contacts application), an iPhone and an iPad as well as an iCloud account. Synching contacts between all 4 of them works perfectly. However, synching contacts with Outlook 2011 does not work anymore. It used to, then I had some trouble with the synching with the iCloud (due to the fact that I had to change the Apple ID from the one I use for iTunes to the one I use for the Cloud), and since then contacts do not replicate with Outlook anymore. I can deactivate and reactivate the synching in Outlook as much as I want, no change.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

So it sounds like you have contacts from multiple mail accounts syncing to/from your iPhone.  They will all appear there as long as their respective accounts are checked under contacts/groups(upper left of contact screen).
As far as contacts created on the iPhone, if you select Outlook as your default account for contacts, all contacts created on the iPhone will sync with Outlook.  I'm assuming your Outlook syncs with an Exchange Server.
You could connect the iPhone to iTunes and sync all of your contacts to say, a desktop version of Outlook.  You could then import that set of contacts into the Exchange version of Outlook.

  • I have downloaded the latest version of icloud control panel to a PC with Windows 7. My "master" data is always on my PC. With other synch software I always select "One Way Outlook to Device". I synched icloud with Outlook and it has trashed my Outlook

I have downloaded the latest version of icloud control panel to a PC with Windows 7. My "master" data is always on my PC. With other synch software I always select "One Way Outlook to Device". I synched icloud with Outlook and it has trashed my Outlook with duplicate contacts. Is there a solution. Is there selective synchronisation available?

Make sure you don't have any notes that have no content or subject or this can prevent syncing with Outlook.  If you do, delete them.
If you don't, try unchecking "Mail,Contacts,Calendars & Tasks with Outlook" on the iCloud control panel for Windows, choose Delete at the prompt (the data will still be in iCloud), restart your PC, then go back and check this setting again.  (Your iCloud data will reappear in Outlook after a brief delay as it redownloads.)
Then create a new note on one of your iOS devices and see if it appears in the Notes folder in Outlook mail after a few minutes.

  • Sync issue with Outlook Calendar

I just got my first BB - the Pearl 8120.  I installed the Desktop Manager v4.6 off the BB web on an XP tablet pc.  I set it up to syncronize with my outlook 2003.  The sync worked fine for the contacts, however, when it started syncing the calendar, it started up saying it was reading from MS Outlook Calendar and read through the items until it reached 2096/13344.  It stalled for about 30-45 seconds and then started up again until it reached 4613.  It stalled again, but started up again.  At record 6089, a message comes up that says "Intellisync - The operation terminated unexpectedly".  I push "ok" and it returns to the desktop manager.  If I push sync again, it comes up and says "Intellisync - unknown error reported".  I have to close out of the desktop manager and restart to have it sync again.  I tried syncing just the notes and it worked fine.  I also sync'd the tasks with no issues.  However, everytime I try syncing the calendar, it bombs out.
I tried to see if there was a suspicious calendar entry in outlook, but I can't find which entry it is bombing out on (just the number - the entries listed in the log don't appear to be in a specific order).
I turned off my anti-virus and had the same luck.
I also went into the advanced section of backup and restore to delete the database (recommendation from BB website technical support), but there are no databases listed at all for the computer databases.
I have been using hotsync from Palm to sync with my palm.  Active sync is also installed on my system.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Ok- I think I found a solution.  AT&T directed me to a BB document KB01451 which shows you how to turn on advanced logging capability.  Evidently, I had a few records in my Outlook database where the date codes were corrupted for some unknown reason.  I followed the directions to turn on the logging.  Then, do a sync.  After you get the error message, look in the tif.log using notepad and scroll to the bottom of the document.  Within the first few lines, you will see the subject line.  Go into Outlook calendar and go into the advanced find.  Type in the subject line and have the search look for the subject title.  If you have more than one entry with the same name, you can probably figure out the specific record with a location or some other identifying mark.  If not, you need to process all the records you found.  What I did was open up the record - each corrupted record had a reoccurance set.  I went into the reoccurance tab located under tools.  I selected ok and acknowledged the warning it would give me about changes to some events may be changed.  I then saved the appointment.  I then went into the directory of the logs and renamed the logs.  You can also just erase them if you don't want to keep track of them.  By the way, you will probably have to shut down the desktop manager and Outlook in between the errors - you may have to close outlook through the task manager as it gets hung due to the error.  You just have to keep going through the process until you find all the corrupted records - I had 6 in my file of 13k records.  I have no idea why this was happening - the records were from many years ago to a few weeks ago....not a good sign!!  My Palm didn't seem to have an issue with these records, so I don't know why they were an issue with the BB....but I am up and running after several hours of messing with this - hopefully this will help someone else.

  • Pearl 8110 will not sync with Outlook Calendar

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8110, and I upgraded the Desktop Manager, then it quit syncing with outlook calendar.  It does sync with noes, memos, addresses, but no calendar.  when the sync is getting to the calendar it says "please wait" then just kicks me out.  No error message in the log, nothing.  I even retrograded back to 4.7.0.17, but no changed.  Here is what else I have:
    Blackberry 4.5.0 Core Applications 4.5.0
    Blackberry 4.5.0 System Software Properties
    Blackberry MDS runtime Properties 4.5.0.20
The calendar is the big thing for me.  Any Ideas??
    Thanks

I just wanted to let you know that I'm having the same problem with my 8120 and it started on the 18th.  I spent 3 hours, 39 minutes, and 42 seconds on the phone with BB support yesterday with no luck and we tried every trick they could think of.  I'll certainly let you know if I find any information since I too can't live without my calendar.
