Opinion Needed on Atlona AV Toolbox CDM-660 Standards Converter

In the course of day-to-day transfers of VHS to DVD I am getting a mounting number of requests to convert PAL to NTSC. I have the Nattress plug-ing and I am familiar with Compressor's ability to transcode, but both are rather time intensive. As a result, I am looking at hardware based option that can give reasonable results in real time.
As such, while checking tigerdirect I found the "Atlona AV Toolbox CDM-660 Standards Converter". It seems to do exactly what I need (fully covering all the potential standards in either direction), and the price is quite reasonable.
Can anyone give me an opinion on this particular unit, or possibly suggestions on an alternative product.
Any and all opinions welcome.

Thanks Burt for the reply and suggestion.
Even with a speedy software solution, it still takes (minimum) 3x realtime (Capture>convert>Burn DVD). Way too much time to be cost effective for my customers! With hardware, it is realtime (Play>burn), and therefore I would not have to charge $100/hr+ for the transfer. I want to keep it under $50/2hr DVD.
The transfers do NOT have to be broadcast quality. It just needs to be good enough for that average joe to get the VHS to DVD and not loose the memories from the tape. Consider, many of these tapes are recorded at EP! Broadcast quality would be a bit overkill...

This is a MacBook Pro 15" (Model number A1286) running Mavericks. Hard drive is fine but system software has been corrupted. I cannot simply restore from Time Machine as it will copy the corrupt system.

Do I need to export multiple sizes for all standard print sizes? i.e.Say I crop the image in LR to 6'5" x 9' to fit within an 11" x 14" (overall) mat of a framed print.. Now let's say I want to reprint that same image in a 12" x 16" size ... to fit within a mat of with overall size of 20" x 24"? Or will the 1st export be "locked" at 6.5" X 9" (proportionately)?

So, for the first one Export it cropped to 6.5 x 9 - and in the Export Dialog box there is a capability to rename the file for exported output - which would allow you to add something like the crop or intention to the base name of the file. e.g. for _IMG0846.nef - setup the output filename to _IMG0846-65x9 for 11x14.jpg and output it at, say 300 or 360 dpi. So, it has a unique name and purpose in your output folder.
For best results, now, re-crop the picture in LR - just open the crop [R] dialog again, reframe the image to the new ratio, 12x16 and Export again - with an adjustment to the filename. e.g. _IMG0846-12x16 for 20x24.jpg
So, now you have two clearly identified image files in your output area and you can provide those to whomever is printing for you, etc. Discard them when you're done since you always have the original to return to to re-frame again as necessary.
This way you get output sharpening and resolution (in pixels) optimized for your output print size. Maybe not super important for smallish prints-but more important for larger ones. Output at 100 quality.

Converted how? If using ExportPDF, then you should be able to download it from acrobat.com by using your Adobe ID.

The program would stop, but the files would remain on your computer. Before stopping, you could do a batch convert to tiff or png, with a strong recommendation for tiff. Png only support transparency whereas tiff supports layers, live type, transparency, etc.
Keep in mind the app you open the tiff file in may not support all of those features, but it could if they tried.
The psd files I would backup to a cd or dvd before removing for space, but if you have the room, keep them as some apps do support psd files.
Best part is when you are ready, you can start your subscription again and use all of those files once again.

If you resintall iTunes, it should fix the issue. The following document will go over how to remove iTunes fully and then reinstall. Depending on what version of Windows you're running you'll either follow the directions here:

File>Open to open your eps file
File>Export to export your image as a jpg.
In the export dialog box just below where you type in the filename is a file type, that is where you choose jpg.
What ever you do, do not delete the eps file. Should you ever need to access the original you will have have.
I recommend that instead of jpg you choose psd, tiff, or png and use jpg only for sharing. Jpg is a lossy format meaning each time you edit the file and save it, the quality of that file degrades. The formats I recommend are lossless formats, you can edit them all you want no data is being discarded unless you choose to do so.

I think that the best way to find out what you need to know would be to contact Sony. We aren't as familiar with specific cameras as the camera manufacturers are. Sony would know if it were possible for you to take images while the camera is plugged into the computer.
