Opinions on the best Personal Finance application?

Just purchased an iMac after about 15+ years with PCs. Problem is I have about 15 years of financial history in my Windows version of Quicken. I bought the Quicken for Mac version, but the data file conversion effort is ridiculous, and besides that there are certain investment transactions which just don't transfer at all and must be manually re-entered. Before I go through about 20 hours of manual effort, do any of you have a better recommendation? Thanks in advance.

Mac personal finance software.
Many like using iBank and I believe it will cope with quicken records.

There are others so a search in version tracker would help.

  • What is the Best personal finance software for mac?

I was a quicken user years ago but they don't seem to have an updated version. Any suggestions?

Updated for what?  Home accounting principles are pretty much the same now as they were in 2007: Quicken 2007 for Intel (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks) for $15 here:
    http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/quicken-2007-osx-lion.jsp
I would still be using my Quicken Deluxe 2002 if it did not require Rosetta, which is no longer included in OS X since Lion.

  • What's the best personal finance software for mac?

Any recommendations for personal finance tracking/reporting software?
I've used Quicken and Bento but wonder if there isn't some easier way to keep track of credit cards, cash, income, checks, etc.
    Thanks.

Some often recommended include iBank (which I use and am quite satisfied with), MoneyDance and, if your needs are very modest, Quicken Essentials. Intuit has promised a version of Quicken 2007 that will run under Lion sometime this spring, but I've not seen any more specific date.

  • What's the best duplicates finder application for Mac OS X?

What's the best duplicates finder application for Mac OS X?

Thank you both!  I ended up going for DupeGuru because it was free and it worked well.   Easy Duplicate Finder baited me with the promise of free download then when the search was over I got the "buy the software" if I wanted to delete more than 10 files.
DupeGuru worked well and so far I have not been asked for money.
    This solves my question.

  • What is the best home finance support for mac?

Hi- I am new to owning a Mac. I have had ipad and iphone for years.  Does anyone have suggestions for best home finance software?  I have been looking at Ibank 5 as an option. Any concerns with this software?

  • Some Pro's Opinions on the Best iPod for exercise and while using the MBP.

Is it true that because of the moving parts that the classic should not be used for any type of exercise? When they first came out, I never thought about this or never got this from anybody else so I used my Classic for year without any trouble. I do not do aerobic exercise since the ear buds would not stay in my ear canal, but it seemed to work great. this was a long time ago, I think around 2001, but it got stolen so that ended that for me.
I am now in the market for another one, getting some better Westone 3 ear plugs, but I am not sure what iPod to get. I am not into breaking iPods, now that I have this information that was not a problem many years ago, but I would like some feedback if anybody cares to share their experience. I would need a case and wondering if anybody has used a case that works well for exercise as far as sweat clipping it somewhere, etc.
finally, has anybody come across the articles they have on here somewhere that applecare uses when we all cal in with a problem, they are the same articles that applecare (I heard this, but makes sense) uses as a starting point in trouble shooting problems. Anybody know how to get in to that archive?
As far as the ear plugs, I know a headset would be better to use with the MBP, but since I am spending a fortune for the Westone 3 ear plugs, I am trying to see if they will sound good on the MBP.
    God Bless.

iPods with hard drives such as the Classic (the older iPod you describe was not a Classic by the way. It's counterintuitive but the Classic is the most recent series of hard drive based iPods) will be more prone to failure if subjected to jarring. "More prone" doesn't mean that the will fail you ever exercise with them. My first gen iPod (the 5gig brick) was used for running when I owned it and is still being used for running by the friend I gave it to.
I also used my 3rd gen Nano, 2nd gen shuffle and all three generations of Touches for exercise, including running. The are all flash based so less susceptible to problems from jarring or bouncing. The Nano and the 2nd and 3rd gen touch can be used with the Nike+ Sport kit which is nice if you walk or run. The Touch also has applications that can be useful when exercising. For example, I use an interval timer. The 2nd gen Shuffle is my iPod of choice when racing as it's easier to hide if they want to give me a hard time about it and because it's so light. Before the Touch supported the Nike+ Sport Kit, I used the Nano a lot.
My best advice, especially if you're not running, is to buy whichever iPod suits most of your needs. If the Classic suits you because of it's greater capacity, for example, go for it.
    Best of luck.

  • Best personal finance app for mac?

I'm looking for the best finance app for my iMac. I'm most interested in tracking my accounts -- banking and investments. I'd like to have the software on my two iMacs and on 2 MacBooks without purchasing the product 4 times. Budgeting function is not a great need as I'm retired. I've been using Quicken for Windows.

Why not stay with Quicken and use Quicken for Mac? I searched the support site for you and found that you will be licensed for three installations with one purchase. So, unless you can forego quicken on one computer, you will have to purchase two copies.

  • Any Opinions on the Best Speakers

    hey
I just got a new 17" MBP for school. Grad architecture, but I need some god small speakers for the MBP and a good headset when I need some softer tunes to get me through the late nights. I am not a fan of Bose. any suggestions on some great speakers and a headset for a new MBP 17"? I saw some small black AND I THINK WHITE TO ON APPLE.COM IN THE STORE. THE REVIEWS WERE 50/50 AT THAT TIME BUT I THINK THEY WERE JUST PUT out.
Sorry, the caps slipped into gear.
Any experience with the best of the best speakers for the MBP and a great headset to listen to music or using Skype?
    Thanks.

    Hi thomas,
I haven't updated to iOS 8 yet but I have been using Week Calendar for over 6 years and it is brilliant. The developer is smart and responsive. It is nicely priced besides.

  • My macbook pro is slowing down!what is the best way to speed it up?what is the best drive cleaner application i can use?

my macbook pro is slowing down!i was looking for drive cleaning applications bau i couldn't decide which one is more useful!

There are NO applications that will make your MBP run faster.  At best they will have no effect, at worst they will create more problems.
Start with this comprehensive trouble shooting document.
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3521
Pay particular attention to the Hard Drive and third party applications.
    Ciao.

  • Looking for the best to do application that works on both my MacBook and my iPhone.

I need a good to do application that can be shared.  My boss has a huge list of to do's and I need to be able to organize and prioritize them for her.  Also I need to make sure everything is getting completed on time.  She is on an iMac, MacBook Air and iPhone.  I'm on a MacBook, MacBook Pro and iPhone.  It doesn't need to be super intense and shouldn't be complicated.  Just needing something that we can both view, update and change.  Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

  • The best free antivirus application?

Hi, I own a 5630 XpressMusic and I was wondering where I could download a free, compatible and effective antivirus application for my phone? TIA and happy holidays to all!

You really don't need an antivirus on a S60v3 device.

  • What is the best e-mail application for Mac OS X?

Currently I use the e-mail client in Netscape 7.2. It seems somewhat dated, but it's what I've used for years. On my Mac I also have Mail (that comes with OS X) and Entourage (which comes with Microsoft Office). Both of them seem more advanced than Netscape. So I think it's time to switch.
Also, I have downloaded Netscape 9 beta, and once the real version is released I will probably ditch 7.2 anyway.
    Any advice is appreciated.

I'll second the recommendation for Mail, but I'll also say that Thunderbird is the spiritual, if not legitimate child of Netscape mail. There is a new version of the Netscape browser, but I don't think there is a mail application.
Thunderbird gets great reviews. Since I user Mail I can't say much more, other than it is a second option.

  • Which is the best windows server application proxy or Azure application proxy ???

    Hi everyone,
I know that Azure application proxy is based on windows server 2012 r2 web application proxy ..
but what is the difference between the two . and under which cases we can go for  azure app proxy and windows server 2012 r2 web application proxy ??
Any examples will be great to understand ..
    Thanks ,
    Kalai

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
Web Application Proxy provides reverse proxy functionality for web applications inside your corporate network to allow users on any device to access them from outside the corporate network. Web Application Proxy preauthenticates access to web applications
using Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), and also functions as an AD FS proxy.
Web Application Proxy can be run on Windows Azure VMs, but there are no recommended scenarios for running it on Windows Azure VMs.

A server running Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows 8.1 or higher on which you can install the Azure Application Proxy Connector. The server must be able to send HTTPS requests to the Application Proxy services in the cloud, and it must have an HTTPS connection
to the applications that you intend to publish.
