Opinions? Will software stabilization ever be able to handle CMOS?

There is software for everything now-a-days. Will there ever be a software solution (and if so, an upgrade to iMovie) that will allow stabilization of CMOS sensor recordings?

There already is software that does this. It's a UK company that makes very high-end video editing products.
In the future, yes, this will be corrected. You'll need dramatically better hardware than what is currently for consumers.
I'll try and find the company and post it here.

I know there is a migration assistant, but I have multiple drives in my pc.  Will the migration assistant be able to handle this?  I'm going to be trying to move the date to a new imac 27' with fusion drive.

the following set of instructions is a little longer, so you might want to print it out and have it handy
    Step 1 - PC
If your PC already is connected to the Internet, hold down the Windows button on
your keyboard and simultanously press R. Into the opening window enter "cmd" (without
the quotation marks). A command line will open, enter "ipconfig" (again without the
quotation marks) at the prompt. Now find the section labelled "Ethernet-Adaptor" and
note the values for IP-Address, Subnet-Mask and Default-Gateway on a sheet of paper
If your PC is not already connected to the internet, you need to manually configure its IP address.
    open Network and Sharing Center
do a right click on Ethernet and select Properties
in middle of the screen there is a box labelled "This connection uses the following items"
out of this box select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)"
click on the Properties button in the right corner
Into the window "Use the following IP address" enter the following values
    IP-Address: 192.168.0.1
    Subnet-Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default-Gateway is the IP-Address of your Router. This value is needed for internet connection, for the file sharing setup only this value can be left empty.
    Step 2 - Mac
If your Mac already is connected to the internet, it is likely that it has automatically receive the necessary parameters from your router and therefore should be in the same network as your PC. To be on the safe side, you can check this by
    open System Preferences
    select Network
choose Ethernet from the panel on the left side of the window
    click on Advanced
    click on TCP/IP
compare the values for IP-Address, Subnet-Mask and Default-Gateway with those you wrote down earlier.
If both PC and Mac have identical numbers in the first three parts of the IP-Address, you are set.
If your Mac is not already connected to the internet, you need to manually configure its IP-Address as well.
In the TCP/IP window you have just opened select "Manually" from the drop down menu "Configure IPv4:"
    Enter the following values
    IP-Address: 192.168.0.2
    Subnet-Mask: same as with PC
    Default-Gateway: same as with PC
Step 3 - Activate File Sharing on PC
    open Control Panel
    select Network and Internet
    select Network and Sharing Center
on the left panel select change advanced sharing settings
in the middle of the new page enable turn on file and printer sharing
Step 4 - Activate File Sharing on Mac
    open System Preferences
    select Sharing
set check mark next to File Sharing (green circle appears on the right side next to File Sharing:)
    click on Options:
set check mark next to Share files and folders using SMB
in the listbox under the text Windows File Sharing make sure there is a check mark next to your account name
Step 5 - Create a share on your PC
In Explorer select the folder you wish to share
do a right click on that folder and select "Share with"
    choose "Specific people"
a new window opens. there select your Windows username (usually the first in the list)
if you plan to copy from Windows to Mac only, it would be sufficient to grant Read permission only, but, since most likely you are the only person to access that share and certainly do not plan to sabotage yourself, Read & Write permission is ok too.
    finally click on "Share"
Step 6 - Create a share on your Mac
Once the check mark next to your account name is set (see above) your home directory is automatically set as a share.
Step 7 - Connect your PC to your Mac-Share
do a right click on the network icon which resides on your desktop or in the left
    panel of every Explorer window
    Select Connect Share
in the text box next to Folder: enter \\<ip-address-of-your-mac>\<your-osx-username>
if you are using the same username and password on both Windows and OSX click on "Finish",
if not set the check mark next to "Connect using different credentials" afterwards click on "Finish" A new window will open where you enter username and password that you are using with OSX
Step 8 - Connect your Mac to your PC-Share
hold down the command key and press K simultanously or in Finder click on Go in the menu at the top of your screen and select "Connect to Server"
in the Window that opens enter smb://<your-windows-username>:<your-windows-password>@<ip-address-of-your-PC/<y our-windows-username>
    or
smb://<ip-adress-of-your-PC/<your-windows-username> you will be asked to enter your Windows username and password in popup window
Now you have both computers connected to each other. Each will provide you access to your home directory of the other computer. Open a second Explorer or Finder window with your local home directory and start copying

  • Multiple destination disks - Will Time Machine ever be able to write to

I have a lot of data (some video) so I want to have a couple TB's or more of backup. If Time Machine could backup over more then one device then I wouldn't have to worry about capacity so much. I could shuffle my drives and have more options for which drives are backup and which are current data.
Also if will Time Capsule ever be 2TB? It might be nice to have it stored in a security chest (prevent fire or theft) getting wireless data copied to it. I'm not sure what the max WiFi distance is or if that will work. Any thoughts?
    Dave

TimeMachine will not work, unless, as suggested, you format the drives together to create a RAID array. However, this means that you need to have all the drives connected all at once. Essentially, RAID is like creating one big disk (volume) from several.
If I understand what you want to do, you want to fill up one disk, then disconnect it and put it on the shelf, then fill up another disk and so on.
There is backup software that works this way and it's called [Retrospect|http://www.emcinsignia.com/products/smb/retroformac>. I've used it to back up large (many terabytes) servers onto tape media (hundreds of DLT tape cassettes), but it will handle just about any kind of storage media. As one unit fills up, it will ask for another to add the incremental changes. You can either keep adding, or set up a rotation strategy where you erase and recycle your drives every so often. This process is handled well and can be automatic.
I haven't looked at Retrospect in several years so I can't say if it's still a good option, but I know it can do this so it might be worth looking into.

  • Will my computers specifications be able to handle photoshop?

I'm looking at buying photoshop but I've had some people say that I'll need to upgrade my computer, while otheres are saying it will be fine. Not being very 'tech savy', I was wondering if anyone would be able to help and let me know if my computer will be able to handle photoshop.

  • Will the x220 ever be able to boot in 10 seconds? (as t420s)

    Hi,
I found out that the x220 is compatible with ENHANCED EXPERIENCE 2.0.
With this technology (I thinks that are mainly tweaks) the t420s can boot in under 10 seconds (with SSD)
Why does my x220 need ~ 20 seconds to boot? (Intel 320 120GB SSD)
It doesn't mater if I install "rapidboot" or not. The time won't change.
Will it come step by step or will it stay at 20seconds?
(I know it is a very good time, but 10 seconds are quiet better )

I don't know the exact steps to make your computer boot in 10 seconds and if it's even possible, but to get EE 2.0 you need to use the pre-installed Windows from Lenovo and not a clean install. Also the Intel 320 SSD is SATA 2 unless i'm wrong. With a SATA 3 SSD i guess you should be able to enhance the boot time a bit further. Also there are some settings Intel recommend to turn off when using a Intel SSD. If you install the Intel SSD toolbox you can make this app do these changes for you. I'm also sure there are further Windows tweaks that can be done to make Windows boot faster.
You also have to remember that some applications will make you computer boot slower so a fresh Windows usually boot faster compared to when you have installed all the apps you use. Antivirus is one example that make the computer boot a bit slower and that might differ pretty much depending what antivirus software you use. Also i found some of the Lenovo applications to make the computer boot a bit slower like the fingerprint software. The boot time normally increase when you install applications, but of course some apps do not have any effect on the boot time while others do.
When Lenovo demonstrate a boot in 10 seconds i guess they install Windows with required drivers only and not software that can slow down the boot and maybe they even did a few tweaks. I really don't know and just guessing.
I guess you where hoping for easy fix, but i don't think there is a easy and simple answer to this question.

  • Will Adobe Reader (iOS) be able to handle acrobat file with video?

I have created power point slides with embedded video.   I used Acrobat to make a pdf version of the power point slides.  All of the Action Buttons and Video displays perfectly in Windows.
I am interested in have this pdf file be display on an iPad (now or sometime in the future).   Does anyone know if that is in the works for Adobe Reader for iOS (iPad) ??    If so, possible time frame ???
    Thanks,
    G

On ios, we do support playing videos that are embedded as part of a portfolio or as an attachment on a regular document. The key is that the video must be in a format that the device can play. See video formats listed here under Video technologies:
    http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/Miscellaneous/Conceptual/iPhoneOSTec hOverview/MediaLayer/MediaLayer.html
I tested such a sample PDF recently. Unfortunately, our forums don't have a means of posting these files. If you'dl ike to see a sample, please email [email protected] and request the embedded video sample from me (Pat W.)
    Thanks!

  • Understanding that the iPhone 5 won't support simultaneous voice and data transmissions over Verizon and Sprint LTE networks will it ever be able to support VoLTE (Voice over LTE)?

Understanding that the iPhone 5 won’t support simultaneous voice and data transmissions over Verizon LTE network will it ever be able to support VoLTE (Voice over LTE)? Could Apple add VoLTE support later on? It seems pretty clear the MDM9615 chip supports VoLTE but the baseband software by Apple does not. Could Apple add it to the baseband later on? When will Verizon turn-on/enable VoLTE?

Well in my research Verizon is already testing Voice Over LTE in select markets via a few news releases, and rumor has it that a few smartphones are already VoLTE ready. http://news.verizonwireless.com/news/2011/02/pr2011-02-09f.html

I am planning to buy apple air mac book. i am not that technical will i be able to handle apple mac book. i am aware of using windows os but can i get software like that of notepad, word pad in os X lion. can i get partitioning in macbook,

Yes.  Switching to Mac might be overwhelming at first, but it is not difficult.  I Just started using Macs regularly about 9 months ago after using only Windows based pc's for over 15 years.  Macs come with TextEdit , but you can also purchase MS Office for Mac or use Apple's version, called iWork.Yes, you can partition the hard drive of a Mac.  Read these also: http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/, http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/.  With regular use of a Mac, you will be able to use it without even thinking about it, just like how you learned to use a WIndows pc.

This has nothing to do with Apple.  You will need to ask MS.  I am not optimistic.  It's now 13 years of people asking MS to fix their product.
Have you tried Open/Libre/NeoOffice?   It should be most compatible with MS Stuff.

Just wondering why we can't rent certain movies off ITunes store, when those movies are already out on DVD - will we ever be able to rent them?

Apple needs to have permission from the copyright holder to make them available.

  • Will we ever be able to disable top sites?

Hi, will we ever be able to disable top sites on Firefox for Android? This is an amazingly huge gaping privacy hole and a major annoyance. I love your products, I love your organization. But this is so against the whole philosophy of open source and the ability of the user to control their own technology. Until this is fixed I will not be able to use your browser. Looks like it's Dolphin Browser for me.

This is a suggested feature by many, expect it to be in a future version of firefox.
