OPJ2 Stock/Batch determination question
In OPJ2 I have stock determination (based on stock type) active with business operation 3 (stock determination at backflush). I also have Auto batch determination active at the time of backflush (261 movement type)
That means for a material I am doing batch determination and also stock determination both at the time of backflush.
so how does system pick batches? will it first determine the stock type based on the stock determination rule and then go for batch determination strategy in that stock type or will it first go for batch determination and based on the determined batch it will determine the stock type?
In other words, which happens first? batch determination or stock determination?
Based on my testing, I found that system is giving batch determination preference than stock determination if we do them both at once (at the time of backflush). So now the real issue i am facing is
I have a batch manged component that is handled using vendor consignment stock k. we also have the same material in unrestricted use too.
un restricted has 2 batches, batch 1 sled is nov 2011, batch 2 sled is jan 2012
vendor consignment has 2 batches batch 1 sled is dec 2011, batch 2 sled is jan 2012
our requirement is to consume early sled batch from consignment first. That means i need to consume sled dec 2011 batch from consignment first. But as system is giving preference to batch determination first, its selecting sled nov 2011 of unrestricted.
any suggestions??

3) once you do the GR , create a batch No as GR Date and assign the same GR Date in Characteristic .
4) maintain a Batch search strategy strategy in MBC1 and maintain a KEy combination , Movt type, Plant , Material,
Movement type should be GI movt type.
5)Maintain a sort rule based on FIFO, for the characteristic
6) when ever you are doing I for the movement type system propose batch based on FIFO

Problem about sales order stock stock transfer and batch determination
Hi, experts, I get a problem about sales order stock stock transfer and batch determination.The following is the current situation of my system:
In OMCG I assigned search procedure ME0001 to both 311 and 311 E and ticked check batch. After that, I found that if iI need to tranfer unrestricted-use material from storage location 1000 to 2000 with movement type 311, I just need to input * at the field batch, then the system will display all of the available batches. But for the transferring of sales order stock with movement type 311 E, after I input * at the batch field, no batch is displayed and there is also no message from the system.
Can anybody help me? Is there anything else I need to do? Thanks very much.I think my question is not clear, actually I tried 562 E , 411 E and 413 already. all the transaction looking for the sales order but unfortunatly the sales order is deleted from SAP.

Auto Batch Determination For Stock Transport Order/Replenishment Delivery
All,
I have an issue with my stock replenishment deliveries (STPO, Stock Transfer Plant to Plant via standard MRP/Procurement process with a Purchase Order that is a Stock Transport Order).
One question I have is what module should the configuration be for Auto Batch Determination on deliveries from STPO's, is it SD or MM? The reason I ask is because I have the SD side working just fine for example if I enter a customer order for this material and issue a delivery against it I get a batch automatically assigned according to your search/sort criteria. I know with a Stock Transport you have different item categories etc. and I have flagged them as relevant for ABD.
I have been racking my brain regarding this and I have went through the configuration for both Inventory Management and Sales and Distribution. I have went through the steps several times. I am not seeing what I am missing any help in this arena would be helpful I am getting the following error message when I go to the batch tab on the replenishment delivery "Batch determination is not possible because there is no search procedure". I am at a loss to what configuration is needed. I keep going through the steps and I am not finding whats missing. Any help in this area would be most grateful.

you need to configure batch determination in SD and maintain enteries in the trasaction code V/C5 as below
Sales org + Distribution channel + Division + DL (in salesDoc Ty) + Search procedure + tick check batch
Sales org + Distribution channel + Division + NL (in salesDoc Ty) + Search procedure + tick check batch
also check whether the delivery item category is active for auto. batch determination and maintain the batch condition record in transaction code VCH1

Stock determination in Batch determination.
Hi Freinds,
Scenario is as follows:
Batch determination is already active with FIFO logic. There are 2 types of stock ( Own unrestricted and consignment)with batches in same storage location.
If I maintain stock determination rule as 'consignment' in Component material master then only consignment batches are pulled in production order component overview while Order release.
If i dont maintain stock determination rule then batch determination is done with FIFO logic and accordingly batches are pulled in correctly but then if the batch is from consignment stock, there is no Special stock indicator 'K' in the component overview against the consignment batch.
Is there any way I could pull in the special stock indicator keeping the FIFO logic same in batch determination.
Please note that batches are already pulled on FIFO logic and requirement is to bring in the special stock indicator K if batch is from consignment stock. I dont want any particular stock type to be given priority since batches are pulled on FIFO base irrespective of stock types.
Can we fulfill this requirement ?
Any inputs would be highy appreciated.

Shailesh Nadkarni.I have only worked on a scenario where there needs to be priority assigned based on stock type first followed by batch, but not this one so the below is not from exp. but just a suggestion.
Add a characteristic to your batch determination procedure being used for production orders for stock type. With that in place, check if you can get the stock type passed to the order as per your need.
Give it a try n let me know if it works, meanwhile if there is anything else which comes to my mind will post in here. -
Batch determination based on WM storage type stock positions
Hello experts,
I am hoping the get some advise on the best method to achieve this:
We have batch determination turned on for select customers and the system is proposing stock that is mainly in our each or lose pick storage types (110), the issue with that is the fact that we do not pick in less then case qty for those customers so if the stock doesn't exist in our general storage the user must re-determinthe batch codes before delivery release.
This process is becoming very time consuming so I would like to improve it.
My first thought is to create a custom check in the batch search strategy that will only propose batch codes that exist in our general storage (search strategy based on WM stock positions)
Are there any other options to achieve a batch search strategy based in WM stock positions other then the one above and does that solution sound practical?I'm not referring to the type of picking either (i'm not referring to picking strategies at all). I'm referring to storage type search criteria defined in OMLY.
"We need batch determination based on WM storage type stock positions" -> you are running BD at delivery level and therefore, there is nothing from a standard perspective that we can do to run BD based on WM storage type again. Since the BD has already occurred, we need to find other venues to direct the pick to the appropriate storage types.
This is what I'm understanding but I reckon there's something that I'm missing and so let's take the below example and then you can get back with corrections:
R001 plant
ZM01 storage location
Z01 WH
110, 120, 130, 140 storage types (110, 120, 130 are case/lose pick, and 140 is general)
Since you had mentioned earlier that the BD is running at plant level, I'd assume the storage location ZM01 is automatically determined (since the batch resides in ZM01). Since the batch is already determined, based on your 'storage search strategy' (110, 120, 130) the system tries to pick this batch in these storage types. Now, when there is no full case, you have to manually change the storage type to 140 to pick and this is where the problem is. So, I was recommending that since there is no standard way to automatically pick the full case from 140, use the enhancement. -

In MMBE in unrestricted use column there is total 16.979 stock position is there and again for posting ( PGI ) after delivery for selecting batch determination Available Qty is showing 9,999,999,999.000

Can anybody please help me with this. When the user is trying to turn in production for material A in MFBF, and when they hit post with backflush, the system gives a message No batches/stocks were found - (Batch) determination is performed online in the next screen. In this screen we have the component B under the materia lA which was entered in the first screen. Part B is batch managed, and there are batched also in the system, but the dettermination is not occuring.

Automatic batch determination for quality inspection stock
Hello, gurus.
Could you please, help me with the following problem: I have received on the certain storage location some quantity of material maintained in batches into quality inspection stock with 501 movement type. Now I would like to make reverse posting, but I do not want to use cancellation of the document, I need to use 502 movement type and determine batch from quality inspection stock with automatic batch determination in MIGO transaction. I assigned Batch search procedure to 502 movement type and created all necessary condition records. I use Checking Group for Availability Check CH and Checking Rule for Availability Check 03 where I include quality inspection stock. However no batch can be determined. But if I use 331 movement type, everything is OK, the batch is determined without any problems. If I manually put batch and valuation type for the material, the system shows no error.
Why it is not possible to do automatic batch determination for quality inspection stock then?OK, let us talk abou it. I check it in my system, actually 502 can work, but I can't trigger BM determination by 501. Maybe BM determination onlys to select some existing batches for consumption. For 501 in my pratice I can select all the existing batches to be added or just add a new batch.

I had the similar problem with one of the client and I could solve it.
The procedure is as follows:
1)goto spro->logistic general ->batch management->batch determination
2)Define condition table with proper selection of field .
3)Define access sequence which will consists of sequence of condition tables.
4)Define batch strategy and assign access sequence to it defined in step3.
5)Define batch search procedure and assign it to movement type 641 or 643.
6)Maintain batch search strategy condition record in tcode VCH1 with the combination u defined in access sequence.
7) Apply a USER-EXIT (MV50AFZ1) in the program - SAPMV50A as follows:
IF LIKP-VKORG = '0326' AND LIKP-LFART = 'ZNL' AND LIKP-KALSM_CH = ' '.
Select single KALSM into ikalsm
from T683C
where VKORG = likp-VKORG
and VTWEG = '04'
and SPART = '00'
and AUART = ''.
Likp-KALSM_CH = IKALSM.
ENDIF.
8) Once you create the delivery (VL10D) against PO, go to VL02N -> Batch Split -> Batch determination
You will find the batch will be splited into the delivery automatically.

Batch Determination at Storage location Level
Dear All,
I have one question on batches when I am entering stock against batches in Outbound Delivery Note (as batch split ) the batch determining the storage location is different not the one which it belongs to, I need the batch stock should be determine in same storage location not the different one.
For example: I have 5 storage locations, each storage location contain 5 to 6 batches;
Storage Location: WO1, WO2, WO3, W04 AND WO5
Batches: A1,B1,C1,D1,E1 etc.
Stor. Loc Batches
1. W01: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6
2. W02: A1, A2, A3, A4, A5
3. W03: C1, C2, C3, C4, C5
4. W04: D1, D2 D3, D4, D5
5. W05: E1, E2, E3, E4, E5
I. If I enter B1 and stock 10kg then it automatically determining storage location as W02. Actually it belongs to storage location W01 it should be the same W01only
II. If I enter C1 and stock some 15kg then also it automatically determining storage location as W02. Actually it belongs to storage location W03 it should be the same W03.
Kindly give me the solution.

I have configured newly batch management in our IDES ECC 6 system in which while posting the GRN I am getting the following error:

Batch WHITE has already been posted in stock
For batch WHITE of material YARN40SCMBD 1001, no class could be deter
Deficit of PU Ordered quantity 5 KG : YARN40SCMBD 1001 YN01 WHITE
and also the system response is
For batch WHITE of material YARN40SCMBD 1001, no class could be determined
Message no. M7207
Diagnosis
The system has been configured so that batches have to be classified for the current movement type. Since neither the material nor any batch of this material has been classified, batch &V1 cannot be classified for the current movement type.
System Response
Depending on how the system is configured, either a warning or an error message is issued.
If the message issued is a warning (W), the system allows you to enter batch WHITE without classification. The warning is, however, issued to prevent you from making a wrong entry.
If the message issued is an error message (E), you cannot post batch WHITE.
Procedure
You either have to classify material YARN40SCMBD in the material master or manually create batch WHITE in the batch master and classify the batch there.
As soon as a class has been assigned to the material or a batch of this material, you can classify other batches of this material upon goods movements.
Pls help me. how to solve this problem.

Follow the steps:
1.Field---VFDAT and table-MCHA should be created as a charecter in CT04 and assigned to a class in CL02N.
2.create MM01 and add the class to it in classification view.
3.In mm01 plt storage1 view give data for remainning shelf life and total shelf life and in purchasing view activate batch management.
4.OMJ5- activate SLED for your plant and mvt type 201.
5.opj2- set BD for your plant.
6.create sort sequence in cu70 and assign your charecteristic value to it.
7.create batch serch strategy in MBC1 for access sequence(plt/matrl/mvt typ) create a condition record.
8.Do a GR using 501 and enter SLED related details.(production date and exp date values)
Repeat the above step and enter diffrent values for SLED details.
So now two batches are created with SLED as the charecteristic.
9.Do a GI using 201 mvt tye in MB1A and enter * in batch field(system will determine the batch using the SLED value basedon the criteria(ascending or descending which was set in the sort rule.)

I'm facing the follwoing problem i have a configurable material which contains another configurable material in its BOM the item catergory for the configurable item is N , the problem is that during batch detrminittion of the material in the production order the system issues this message ' Batch entry/batch split not allowed for component xxxxx

Please check these steps that you have done exactly like this;
For that you have to do five important steps or features you have to know OK.
1) Batch number assignment: We use this function to assign a batch with a number that uniquely identifies it OK.
2) Batch Specf: To describe each batch uniquely using like Characteristics and characteristic The values. are allocated in the material master.
3) Batch status management: To indicate weather a batch is usable or unusable: We can set (a) Manually in the batch master record or at goods receipt and (b) Automatically in the usage dissension in quality management.
4) Batch Determination: We can use this function for various criteria to search for batches that are in stock (a) movement type: When posting goods issues (b) When combining suitable components for order types.
5) Where used list: The batch where used list shows the path of the batch from its procurement to its delivery to the customer.
6) Active Ingredient Management: This function is to administrate and process materials with active ingredients that are to be handled in batches OK.
Condition types: Say for x material if we want to determine the batch at the movement type/ plant/order type.
Access Sequence: It will checks weather the batch determination is done with movement type/ plant/ material &
order type/ plant/ material.
Strategy type: We will assign here condition type and Access sequence and as well we have to maintain Class type: 023
sort sequence, batch split
Batch Search Procedure: Here we will define the search procedure and using the condition type here OK.
Batch Search Procedure Allocation and Check Activation: Here we will assign the search procedure to the movement types and for order types as well
HERE THE BELOW FOLLOWING DATA WILL GIVE YOU RIGHT UNDERSTANDING OK:
a) It will looks for the search procedures.
b) It searches through the strategy types in the search procedures for a valid search strategy.
c) Characteristics from the selection class of the search strategy looks for batches with suitable specifications.
d) Then it will looks for weather the batches are available.
e) It sorts the batches that are available according to the sort rule from the search strategy.
f) Then the system selects a proposed quantity with proposed quantity from the search strategy OK.

Error in Batch determination in STO delivery
Hello Gurus,
When i m doing batch determination in STO delivery, system is throwing error "Batch determination is not possible because there is no search procedure."
I think search procedure is assigned to sales doc types. Please correct me if i m wrong. This is working fine in case of normal sales cycle(Order-delivery-Billing). As the scenario is STO, the delivery is made against PO so this should not be reason for this error.
Also i have maintained Auto batch deter. at delivery item category level, but still getting the same error.
