OPLA V3.4 Backward Compatibility with Agile 9.3.3

Hi,
We are using Agile PLM 9.3.3 and OPLA 3.3.1.2.2 in our organization. I saw Agile PLM 9.3.3 mentioned in technology stack support for OPLA.
Does that mean OPLA V3.4 is backward compatible with 9.3.3?
If so, Can we go ahead with OPLA V3.4 upgrade?
Regards,
AB

Hi,
Correct, you must upgrade the CM to 4.2.3 before you register the new WAVEs that are running 4.2.3.  In the intermin while you upgrade the rest of your WAEs and WAVEs from 4.1.5f to 4.2.3 the upgraded CM will be able to manage these 4.1.5f devices.  However, I would advise you upgrade all devices to the same version of code as soon as possible.
As for the WAE-511, it is true that they are no longer supported as of 4.2.1; see the release notes here:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v421/release/notes/ws421xrn.html#wp83156
The 511 devices will technically work, but you will see the following alarm in the CM informing you this is an unsupported platform.
“WAAS version 4.2.x and higher are not supported on the hardware types highlighted in red. Please downgrade the image to a supported version or replace the device with a supported hardware type.”

  • Backward compatibility with Captivate 7.0

We are in the process of procuring Captivate 7.0. If we develop web based training materials using Captivate 7.0 will be able to make edits in future with Captivate 6.0 ?

No backward compatibility!  This is crazy.  We've just tried the Save As option expecting there to be an option to save for previous versions and it's not there.  What a short sighted approach to take, and very frustrating.
I am not on a maintenance contract for the software, but my colleagues are, so to be able to collaborate either they have to hold back on updates or I have to upgrade.
So this is Adobe’s approach to supporting licensed users in their ability to work collaboratively?   I wish there was a competitor on the market we could use instead of Adobe.

  • Does the new version of pages for ipad have backwards compatability with previous versions of Pages?

This one question is preventing me from downloading the new version of pages - I am worried I will lose the ability to read documents made with the previous version of pages, or that they will be automatically converted into the new format without my knowing. My laptop does not have Mavericks so I will have to keep using an older version of pages here, but I am reluctant to download the new version to my ipad because of concerns that users have previously voiced about the lack of backwards compatability. Is this still the case, or is there now backwards compatability?

    Did we get HyperCard back?
Did we get all the features of AppleWork Back?

  • 11.1.2.1 HFR Studio backwards compatibility with 9.3.1?

We're currently working through a migration upgrade from 9.3.1 to 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1 and plan to run through a couple of months of parallel testing before going live.
I've seen that the 11.1.2.1 Smartview has some backwards compatibiility with 9.3.1, but I'm trying to verify if we could install and use the 11.1.2.1 version of HFR Studio to manage both reporting environments (9.3.1 & 11.1.2.1) during the parallel phase.
Anyone with any experience on this topic?

According to the support matrix, FR Studio 11.1.2.1 only supports 11.1.2.1 Essbase, Planning and HFM database connections:

  • Is There No Backward Compatibility With The New CC Release?

    Hi,
I've been really keen to have a go with the (eagerly anticipated!) new incarnation of Edge but having downloaded it - with a view to assessing it using the 30 day trial - I've discovered that nothing can be saved in a format that's backward compatible with the free version (1.5.0.217.23270).
I frequently need to send partially completed projects off for finishing by other participants who, now, may or may not have opted for a paid version of the software; so the need for compatible files is a crucial one for me. Have I missed something, or is there a workaround?
    Hope you can help

Thanks for the feedback, and as a former agency veteran myself I understand the pain point.
One thing to keep in mind is while the 1.5 version is perpetual, we'll be adding a lot more valuable features in the future which most definitely won't be compatible with 1.5. There's still a lot of critical features we'll be introducing which are must-haves in any animation software.
I'm not sure of the level of collaboration you're looking at but a great thing about Animate is the files are editable outside of the application itself. So if you have a little bit of coding know-how you can change design properties, images, and text through edge.js and actions.js. So for example, if you have a CC project someone and you just need to swap an image, you can relink the image in edge.js. Major edits (like tweaking a motion path) can technically be done with code but it would be really, really painful and better left to the tool
If you're interested in upgrading to get all the CC apps, Animate comes bundled with that. There's special pricing for students too (hint: doesn't really matter what you're a student of... take a cooking course and you're good to go)
Also if you have a serial laying around for any CS3+ product you can exchange that to get a discounted rate for Animate ($9.99USD/month).
Best of luck, and thanks for using Animate.

  • Backward compatability with Flash player

    Hey Guys,
I've been creating a site using as3 in flash CS4, however my
client has a large customer base that inludes people in large
companies that dont have the latest flash drivers installed on
their computers and dont have the admistrative privalidges to
update the drivers themselves. After testing with a select few
customers my client has foud that 50% of their clients are not able
to view the site prototype. I have therefore attempted to publish
the site setting the Flash player to 9 rather than 10, however when
I test the site all the animated elements are frozen! If anyone has
an idea how to resolve these issues I'm all ears :D
    Thanks in advance,

If you have used the newer tween techniques it will fail. You

  • Backward compatibility with iWork '06

does anyone know if iWork '08, specifically Pages, will open '06 files? if it can't, i don't know that i want to upgrade...i would rather not download the trial version. thanks in advance.

My post was ambiguous in using 'overwrite files.' I did mean the iWork '06 applications themselves, not specific work files. I'm a little leery of sending the old applications to the trash when Apple doesn't remove them through the update process. Most other programs, when updated, do not leave older versions of the applications sitting on my hard drive. See for example, iLife '08. Does iWork '08 use some aspect of iWork '06, or might I need those applications for certain files in the future? If not, why not do away with them when the user upgrades to iWork '08?

  • Backwards compatibility with old mac software.

A relative and I want to run some old software that (I'm assuming) would run on Mac os 3.2 or under. There are many possibilities on how to run this program. We could find an old macintosh & run it from there, buy an old version of mac os (possibly 9), or download the old os and run it from a virtualization (as long as its legal). Iv'e done a bunch of research, and noticed from OS X and up, the line of operating systems are coded differently then the older releases. So, in theory, would Mac OS 9 be able to run software from os 3.2 and under?
    Optional question:
I understand that apple owns there software, and there agreement says you may run their software on their computers, (thus meaning the software is free, but the disc is not), but does that mean I can download the old operating system off the internet since its free? (or does apple have a copyright?) I want to make sure before I do anything wrong.

If you could post the name and exact version of the program in question, someone may be able to offer more specific advice.
Apple would probably not appreciate if their software is made available via third-party web sites. However, you can download complete system software 6.0.3, 6.0.5, 6.0.8, 7.0, 7.0.1 and 7.5.3 directly from Apple:
    http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html#system
At least temporary access to a working older (pre-1998) Macintosh computer is typically required in order to produce floppy disks from downloaded files.
You may want to test whether, for example, System 6.0.8 (on a suitable Mac model) is compatible with the old program. Before you begin at all, it is usually not a bad idea to lock (write-protect) any old floppies, and then make backup copies of them (using a program such as Disk Copy 4.2).

  • Messages Service: backwards compatibility with iChat?

First of all, really frustrating that Apple doesn't supply a service requirements data sheet for the services offered in Mountain Lion Server. I would like to know why my Tiger iChat (v3.1.9) users cannot successfully create an account on our Mountain Lion Messages Server!? We do have success when creating jabber accounts from SnowLeopard clients to the Messages server however. I would love for someone who knows how to successfully create a jabber account from a Tiger system to a Messages server to chime in.
As a side note, the Adium software (v1.3.10) works flawlessly from a Tiger user to the Messages server. I have heard that Tiger has pretty strict security measures in place for iChat. Anyone know how to bypass/alter Tiger's iChat security?

    Hi,
    I know of this document
I used to have Link to the original.  It lists the ports needed.
Having said that it only lists port 1080 and 7777 for various forms of File Transfers and the 5269 for TLS that are different to the client versions needs.
Most likely it is about SSL or TLS login verification.
At this point we pass my client app knowledge and you will need one of these forums
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/servers_enterprise_software
I lost the drive to failure that had my Tiger build running on it so I can't check if that version does TLS  (I don't think it does).
The Mountain Lion server may need to allow  a lesser form of login encryption than is set by default.

  • VI backwards compatibility with older run-time Engines

I currently developed a VI in Labview 8.6.1.  I also created an exe for it so that I can run it on another computer.  However, the other computer has an older version of the Run-Time engine installed and so my program cannot be executed on that computer without upgrading the run-time engine to 8.6.1.  But....that computer also has some programs that run on that version of run-time engine.  I have two options here but I do not know the effects or how to do it.
    1) Install a newer version of the run-time engine (8.6.1) - Will this break the current functionality of the programs already on it?
    2) Is it possible to have my VI run on older versions of the run-time engine?  If so, how do I do that?
    Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As dennis said simply install the new runtime engine. We have machines that have 5 versions of the runtime engine on them and we haven't experienced any problems.

  • Backward Compatibility with Labview 6.0 and 6.1

    Hello,
I am having the same problem as discussed in the following message board of yours:
"how to open a vi (made in version 6.1 labview) in version 6.0"
One of your support staff offered to take a user's version 6.1 vi, open it and Save As a version 6.0 vi.
Could you please do the same thing for me? I have attached a vi that was created using version 6.1, however, I am trying to do some work at home. Unfortunately, I only have version 6.0 at home. Version 6.1 was only installed in my research lab.
In case simply saving the vi as a 6.0 version will not sole the problem, could you take screen shots of the front-panel and block-diagram and then just attach the jpeg's?
    Thank you,
    Charles

  • Backwards compatability Id CC to CS6?

    Hello all
I've been asked to pose this question on behalf of my front-office coworkers who are struggling with editing documents created with Id CC in Id CS6. As of 2014 we are now a big merged company and our West Coast division is making marketing materials in the CC version of InDesign while us folks in the Midwest are still trying to wring the last bit of usefulness out of CS6. I don't see a high degree of sophistication in most of this material so I'd think we could work something out here until everyone gets on the same software boat.
Since I'm not a regular user of either version of Id can someone lay out what is needed to ensure a decent level of backwards compatibility with documents made with CC? Is it as simple as in Photoshop where you can select maximize compatibility' or 'save as' a previously acceptable format (like .pm4 in the old Pagemaker)?
Yeah, that last reference really shows my age eh?
    Thanks for any advice

Hey thanks Bob (hello again, Happy New Year and all)
I fear that simple suggestion might warp some creative sensibilities with the CC users but it seems like a reasonable solution.
Let's see what happens. Oh, BTW I have caved and signed up for the 'PS/LR CC Special'. It's like my Netflx subscription - too busy to use it for now, but soooomday...

  • PP backwards compatibility format after import/edit in Captivate 5

I was trying to find an original PowerPoint presentation today that I'd used for a Captivate video (.F4V) but when I got to the directory that I was expecting it in I found 2 copies of it.
I examined the 2 copies and they appeared the same, except one was in Office 2007 format (the version we run) and the other was in 2003 compatible format (the default we run, for backwards compatibility with students' software). The 2 files were marked as being editied 5 minutes apart.
It struck me that I'd used the "Edit in PowerPoint" feature to change one of the slides in the presentation via Captivate.
It's not a problem, more for future reference, but when I edited the presentation did Captivate bypass our default settings and save the presentation in MS Office 2007 native format? Is there and easy way round this or is it just down to me to manage my files?
    Thanks in advance.

No, Scott, Captivate has never been backwards compatible, and that is also the case for CP6: you can upgrade a CP5.5 file to CP6 but you cannot open a CP6-file with CP5.5.

  • FCS 6 backward compatibility

Are there any problems with Final Cut Studio 6 recognizing projects made with Final Cut Studio 5?

Yes. There is NO BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY WITH FCP. Projects made in later versions of the software...even .1 upgrades (5.1 to 5.0...even 5.1.2 to 5.1.1) aren't backwards compatible (except for 5.1.4 to 5.1.2...that works). So the only option open to you is to export an XML of the cut. The verion of the XML depends on the version of FCP you are exporting to. XML v3 for 5.1, v2 for 5.0, v1 for 4.5...and v4 for 6.0.
