OPM R12 - Changing Fiscal Policy of a Legal Entity.
Hi,
Can anyone share the effects of the following scenarios,
1. Changing 'Valuation Method' in Fiscal Policy of a Legal Entity after some periods (From STND to PPAC/PWAC/PMAC)
2.Is it possible to have organizations with different costing methods (STND, PPAC, PMAC) under a single L.E. On what valuation will the accounting entries get generated?

R12: Setup Fiscal Policy in OPM Cost Management
hi,
In Vision R12 Instance, the organisation code PRU is not getting listed in the LOV of Legal Entity field in the FISCAL POLICY set up function. This PRU is also a Legal Entity and which is getting listed in all other Setup functions like Cost Calendar etc,.
In 11i it was handled through User Organisation setup in the OPM System Setup. Now, how to do this setup in R12 so that Fiscal Policy can be created for this PRU Legal Entity organisation.
Thiyagu.Dear Friend
Go to OPM financials responsibility, there go to Cost Calendar, Query your latest calendar in LOV see that "PRU-Vision Process Industries (US)" wheather visible or not, if found select that LE and assign, save the form.
Hopefully it will be there.
Next go to Inventory super user, where u just go to Oraganisation Access, in which for your PRU ORG assign OPM financials responisiblity.
Give me reply on this.

Raj

First Party Legal Entity link with Fiscal Classification Type Code- R12
Hello Team
We are working on one of the dimension on E- Tax (BI Apps).
As part of the dimension we need to identify the Legal entity and the linked Fiscal Classification Type Code (Associated Fiscal Classifications) to it. This we are able to see from the application with the following navigation.
Parties: Party Tax Profiles > Party Tax Profiles > Query with the First Party Legal Entity.
Now would seek your help from the technical perspective. How is this linkage happens between Legal Entity and Fiscal Classification Type Code (Associated Fiscal Classifications to it)? We have verified few tables and there is no link available.
If possible provide us the Join Conditions.
Regards
Pawan TallamHello Hansen,
I found this note on My Support:
"R12. EBTax. How to Differentiate Tax Rate Code for Payables and Receivables Transactions in Tax Classification Code LOV (List of Values). [ID 756985.1]
Tax Classification Code LOV ( List of Values) is showing all tax rates created in EBTax. You need to choose your tax rate code in the list of values on tax classification code in Payables or Receivables. How do you differentiate the Tax Rate Code for Payables and Receivables transactions in the Tax Classification Code LOV?
*Solution*
Please note that in R12, there is a centralized tax engine. Tax set up made in EBTax will be and can be applicable to both Payables and Receivables. Any tax rate created in EBTax, will be available as a Tax Classification Code LOV in both these applications. It cannot be restricted and it is the intended functionality.
If Payables and Receivables exist with unique operating units then the MOAC security settings can be used to restrict the LOV. Additionally if EBTax is configured propertly the tax classification codes will not be used for tax determination except in exception based scenarios. Please see the case study in *Note 577996.1* for examples
I just setup ebTax using tax codes for AR and AR and, by the moment, the tax codes from both modules are shared on the LOV. We used a convention for the code naming...but I'm will be looking note 577996.1

Changing the GL Cost Method in the Fiscal Policy
Hi all,
I would like to know what will be the effects if I change the GL Cost Method in the Fiscal Policy. My client wants to go from PPAC to Lot Costing. But I will also want to know what will be the effects if I go from an average cost method to the Standard cost method.
Thank you.Hello
I am in R11 and implementing R11 , can someone help me with documentation?.
I have defined the lost cost method and assigned it to the GL Cost Method in the Fiscal Policy, when i run the cost update process with the alternate method for lot costing ( Pmac) a warning error displays indicating the Cost Method in the Fiscal Policy is not the same as the one indicated on the actual cost process ( since i have ingredients based on the actual cost method ant not lot controlled i have to run this process previously)
can someone help on this?, at this point im really confused
In advanced many thanks for your help

Can the country code of a legal entity be changed?
We have a business situation where we need to transfer 100% ownership of a company from one wholly owned sub to a new wholly owned sub in a different country. This wholly owned sub is a large transaction volume and greater than 250,000 item/BOMs. Our question is can we simply change the current Legal Entity's name, address and country to the new company and country? We would create a new entity to handle the wind down and liquidation of the current wholly owned sub. If this is possible, it would save us the work is setting up the new entity, inventory orgs, etc. and the conversion of POs, invoices, items, BOMs, inventory, etc.
Hi Sandeep and thanks for your quick response.
Our business problem is that this entity is very high volume pertaining to open purchase orders and invetory transactions. In essense the business stays exactly the same, the only change is that it will move to another country with an ownership change. We want the current R12 ledger, company and inventory orgs to stay the same. If the new entity cannot assume the current structure, we have a huge setup and conversion task to make the change.
Again thanks for your quick response. -
Currency Code of a Legal Entity - R12
Hi,
I need to find out the currency code for a Legal Entity in a R12 instance
Based on what I have read and from e-TRM, I have written the following queries:
select gsb.currency_code
from hr_operating_units hou,
xle_entity_profiles xep,
gl_ledgers gsb
where hou.default_legal_context_id = xep.legal_entity_id
and hou.set_of_books_id = gsb.ledger_id
and xep.legal_entity_id = 9999;
select currency_code
from gl_ledger_le_v
where legal_entity_id=9999
and ledger_category_code='PRIMARY';Which of these two is more accurate or is there some other way in which I can obtain the Legal Entity currency?
Thanks,
Sujoy
Closing this thread as there have been no answers. I went with the second query.Hi Sandeep and thanks for your quick response.

GRE/Legal Entity not migrated in R12
LE not migrated into R12
We are upgrading from 11.5.9.2 with OPM to R12.0.4, after upgrade, LE not migrated
Question arise is
At 11i, For Legal Entity, Is it necessary to attach Classification of HR Organization. Existing is GRE/Legal Entity Only.Hi,
Please review the following notes:
Note: 762483.1 - Government Reporting Entity List of Values Only Contains Setup Business Group PERWSHRG
https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=762483.1
Note: 467751.1 - R12: Legal Entities Defined in GL's Account Setup Manager are not in the GRE LOV for Employee Assignments
https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=467751.1
If the above notes do not answer your question, I suggest you post your question in [Human Resource Management (HRMS) |http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=113] forum (or [SCM - Process Manufacturing (OPM) |http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=120] forum), you would probably get a better response there.

How can I change java.policy at runtim on client machines using java webst?
Hi,
I have to change java.policy to launch my application through webstart to provide one RuntimePermission "permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "getClassLoader";"
Its because of a bug in java bug "_http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4809366_"
So, my problem here is, how can I do this dynamically on each client machine's java.policy.
I have spent time on this and found some alternatives
1. Specifying an Additional Policy File at Runtime by launching application "java -Djava.security.manager -Djava.security.policy=someURL SomeApp"
Please refer more on this "http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/security/PolicyFiles.html"
But, here the problem is, how can I do this using webstart (expert.jnlp) file even though I have the "java-vm-args" tag, its not supporting this argument.
Please refer "http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/javaws/developersguide/syntax.html#security";
2. Implementing the Policy in code.
But, not sure how to do this..
How can I grant the runtime permission on every user's machine dynamycally?
Here are some background details on this:
I am using java6 and weblogic 10.3.3.
Here is thing that I tried,
My application downloads a few jars to the client machines using java webstart and then it will get the initial context using the t3 protocal. The jars include wlclient.jar and ojdbc6.jar initially.
The problem here I was facing, when I tried request a bean, it is giving me the following exception in the client logs.It is requesting one state less session bean and I checked the server logs as well and the bean has returned the expected values properly.
But here I observed one more thing, before this request, one session bean(state less) has been requested successfully.

I have tried one more thing, I have taken all the required jars to one of the client machines and executed the main class (by setting the required class path) from cmd using java instead of javaws. Surprisingly, its working fine with out any problem using the wlthint3client.jar.
I also tried the same, by placing wlclient.jar using java in the same way(from cmd instead of javaws ), but I was facing the same exception while requesting the second session bean and found the same above exception in client logs.
To resolve this, I come across the java bug that I have given earlier "_http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4809366_".
In that page, I found a work around for this; suggested by bea to add the Runtime permission "permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "getClassLoader";" to the clients java.policy
So, please suggest me a way to resolve this problem.
Please suggest me if you have any other solutions for this problem.
Thanks in advance :)I still think your problem is nothing to do with that ancient non-bug and that you should be looking elsewhere. You might be lucky and find someone here who can say "Ah, I know what that is" but I doubt it because since Oracle took over Sun this site has gone down hill big time.

Paypal for Family Sharing - Why can't I use PayPal with Family Sharing? Have a US Visa card but a foreign address, and Apple does not seem to be able to cope with that (even though it is a multinational corporation). So I set up payment with Paypal, and it worked fine. Now I want to take advantage of Family Sharing, but Apple won't allow it. Could we lean on Apple to change this policy?
If you are not in the US then you cannot use the US store, the store's terms say that you have to be in a country to use it - if you are using the US store then you are risking having your account disabled.

The same is working in some other machine which are in different network. So, I have replaced the wlclient.jar with the wlthint3client.jar.
After replacing this jar I was getting the below exception in client logs while requesting a state less session bean.I also checked whether the request is reaching the server (bean) or not, but its not reaching the server. The problem is same at all the machines irrespective of the networks.

In that page, I found a work around for this; suggested by bea to add the Runtime permission "*permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "getClassLoader";*" to the clients java.policy
So, please suggest me a way to resolve this problem.
Thanks in advance :) -
How do I change my company Legal Entity name on ITunes Connect?
I recently set up my iTunes Connect account in order to sell books. However, the legal entity name does not match up identical to the one that the IRS has in it's database. Specipically, the company name is "The Raj Books, L.L.C." - however, the IRS drops the "The and periods" for its database. So the company name becomes "Raj Books LLC". Now my name in the iTunes Connect database does not match the IRS so when the tax ID is entered I am told that it does not match the company name. I need to change my Legal Entity name in ITunes Connect - can anyone tell me how to accomplish this task? I do not see the option in my account management section. Thanks in advance for the help!
