Hi All,
1.I installed OBIEE11g in 10g exiting machine (Linux box).After it's worked fine
2.I migrate10g reports into 11g.After it worked fine.
3.I am trying connect from my local online mode.I am not able to connect.
So i am trying to restart BI server.After onward i am not able to connect my BI server.
4.I went to my linux box stoped all services then started.
After i cant able to start scheduler and Presentation and BI service.

Error while configuring OBIEE 11G OPMN Service during Installtion

Hello,
i tried installing 11G with simple install on Vista and didnot work, I think 11g does not work on Any Vista and not sure of W7
second, i tried installing the same on Windows XP and the installtion worked fine till the end and while configuring OPMN Services,
the OBIPS Services and OBICCS services failed, i retried to configure this services with "retry" option but never worked, so i skipped this part thinking that
i can configure this manually. finally i was not able
weblogic's Admin server, Managed server, Node manager and Analytics.war deployments are all healthy in EM Console and Weblogic console
the Fusion Middleware control in EM Console shows the BI Components are not started and i tried restarting it and but never started.
so i think there is something wrong with OPMN configuration at the end of installtion
is there a way to trouble shoot this.
i tried searching of SAWSERVER service so i can start the manaully, but it did not start
i did a softwareonly install on top this single instance installtion thinking if that can help me, but it didnt
so please anyone help me

Hi Kumar,
I believe OBICCS is the Oracle BI Cluster Controller Service. That particular service requires a static IP address. A lot of people use the loopback adaptor to accomplish.
Here's a quick rundown of some things you should check before installing OBIEE 11g.
1. Make sure you have a static IP (use a loopback adaptor if you have to).
2. Make sure your static IP adaptor is the first adaptor in your connections list. You can do this by going to Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network Connections -> Advanced. Use the up and down arrows to ensure that the static IP is the top of the list.
3. Make sure you hosts file (c:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) has the proper entry for the static IP address. For example, if your computer is called MyComputer and your static IP is 192.168.0.1, then the first entry should be: 192.168.0.1 MyComputer. Note: You may need to have your domain on your entry. ie. 192.168.0.1 MyComputer.mydomain.com.
I recommend you check those things. If you missed one of them, fix it and then back out the 11g install and re-install.

How to remove opmn services from services.msc on windows 7 64 bit ?

while doing OBIEE11g (11.1.1.5.0) uninstallation, i can able able to remove opmn services from services.msc - windows server 2008, but i could not able to delete it on services.msc-
windows 7 64 bit OS. i am getting the below error

also delete the services registry entry using regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services What happened after you deleted from regedit? You have to reboot the machine to completely remove the service.

Opmn service does not start when try to start Oracle BI Services

Hi ,
I was able to install OBIEE 11g on my laptop and it worked fine for two days. Today when I try to login to rpd and type my user name and password I get the error that my user name and password is not correct. I tried to restart the machine and now I am not able to start opmn service.
When I do Start>Oracle Business Intelligence (1)>Start BI Services, the script run and two command line windows open and about 10 minutes later get the last line that server started in RUNNING mode, but some how Oracle Process Manager (instance) service does not start. It started two days ago when I was able to login to OBIEE 11g.
If I try to go to OBIEE 11g Home page I get this error "Error 500- Internal server error from RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol- HTTP/1.1: 10.5.1 500 Internal server error
Any Idea how to fix this one.

Maybe you need to tick the "use fully qualified names" check box and make sure that you have the schema object created (as a "folder" between the database and the tables in the physical layer).

OPMN service still running but Essbase is not

I have had a few cases of recursion causing Essbase to crash, but the OPMN service still says it's running in the services monitor. Any clues why? Reason I ask is that we have taken the trouble to monitor (and be notified of failures) all Hyperion services. I do know I can address the recursion issue by changing essbase.cfg, but I actually prefer to address each issue as it arises.

Thanks for the quick reply John. My issue is not getting it back up and running, but more so not being aware that the service isn't running. I know that's a bit anal, but we've gone through the trouble of setting up "watches" on all Hyperion services to be a bit proactive and would like to see tangible results for those efforts. As it stands now we are made aware when stuff stops working, sometimes through communications from our users.

Forms 11g - after deinstallation OPMN Service not deleted

after deinstallation of forms 11g, the OPMN Service is not deleted.
when rebooting windows, a message is shown that opmn.exe has detected an error.
what can i do? the uninstaller is now uninstalled ...
Just the start-menu items are not deleted.
why there are still 1.64 Gbyte / 21.516 files in the oracle/middleware directory after deinstallation?

You need to delete the entries from registry.
Search for instance name and opmn and try deleting that.

Monitor opmn services

is there a way (without buying the BI management pack for EM) to monitor the opmn services and get an email if one is down..
possibly through weblogic 10.3 on BI 11g..

Yes, Monitor mode APs are mostly for enhanced rogue detection.
They do not support the feature you are mentioning (act as a client to connect to AP to validate radio)
This has been proposed in the past, and it is something we are tracking. I would suggest to get in contact with your account team, so they are aware of your needs, and this can help that the feature gets higher priority.

Yod.dll and OPMN service

Hi,
when i try starting OPMN services i obtain an error due to an "yod.dll" fault. If i start by batch file all works fine.
I want having my agent as a service so I've installed web tier 11.1.3 on a Windows Server 2008 with standalone agent.
I'm missing something?

OPMN Services Problem in Windows 2003

Dear all,
I have installed Oracle AS 10g on windows 2003 after installation every service of OPMN infrastructure and Middle Tire worked fine but after restarting of 2003, OID and OC4J-Security service of infrastructure did not start so by using
opmnctl stopall
i stopped infrastructure service and then tried this
opmnctl verbose start
opmnctl verbose startproc process-type=OID
opmnctl verbose startproc process-type=OC4J-SECURITY
and i got
OPMN started and in case of OID process and OC4J-Security
i got no process matched the specified configuration
any help will be appreciated

Hi Kashif
If you installed both Infrastructure and middleTier instances on the same machine please ensure the correct environment settings before issuing the opmnctl commands. This is because you have two opmnctl and want to ensure you are starting up the correct one, starting with the infrastructure first and then the middle tier.
Assuming:
infrastructure home is c:\oracle\infra
middle tier home is c:\oracle\mid
Start the infrastructure...
REM Start infrastructure
set ORACLE_SID=xxx <-- Name of your metadata repository db
set ORACLE_HOME=c:\oracle\infra
set PATH= c:\oracle\infra\opmn\bin;.... <-- Check that infrastucture bin folder is first
cd %ORACLE_HOME%\bin
opmnctl startall
Then start the middle tier...
REM Start the middle tier
set ORACLE_HOME=c:\oracle\mid
set PATH= c:\oracle\mid\bin;.... <-- Check that middle tier bin folder is first
cd %ORACLE_HOME%\opmn\bin

Unable to start OPMN service

Hi group,
I have applied patch 12.1.2 and followed some steps to configure SOA Gateway and after that I am unable to start Apache Server.
I have enabled "debug" option in opmn.xml file as follow:

But nothing is created in opmn.dbg file.

I don't get any error when I stop and start using Services Windows.
You know, file opmn.dbg is empty and there is no file opmn.log at F:\ORAEBS_APPS\inst\apps\EBSTEST_srvoracle05\logs\ora\10.1.3\opmn
I am able to run AutoConfig without any problem.
This is what I am getting when I try to use command mode:

Customized massage when OBIEE (OPMN) services are down.

Hi,
We have OBIEE 11g installed on Weblogic 10.3.3.0 and we have to have an outage message when either BI presentation Service or BI server goes down.
Basically redirection to different URL or customized HTML page.
I believe there is a customization which possible in weblogic.
Can anyone direct me to it?

This is a great question and it can be handled in a few different ways.
1.) You could modify the web.xml configuration file of the analytics web appliction for OBIEE. the web.xml file is located in teh /web/ folder for the main OracleBIServer. Remember, the analytics application (OBIEE Presentation Services) is just a Java application running in a container, so you can modify the deploy descriptor file to react to a 400 or 500 error. You get the 500 error when the Presentation Services component of OBIEE in OPMN is down. Here is a link on what you need to do for the web.xml file after you locate it (restart the BI Server and components afterwards. you may even need to redeploy the /analytics web application as well)
Re: Customise Error pages in Weblogic
2.) You could create a script that runs on the server at a short interval to run the opmnctl.bat|sh command and call the specific component to seek the single status of the presentation services comopnent. Parse the status and if it returs "Active" then all is good, if else, use your scripting skills to send a notification via email, etc.
A combination of the two might be plausible as well, I'm not sure of the full requirements you have.

Opmn services doesn't start on Apps tier

Hi All,
We have issue in starting apps tier services via adstrtal.sh. It doesn't start anything other than listener and rest all opmn process timed out.
In the server I can see only
"opmn -a -q ping"
and
sh <path>/opmnct
sh <path>/adapcctl.sh
etc, but it doesn't start anything and even doesn't reach the stage where it writes in log file. No actually no log present. Its a new server and clone went well, no issues faced. But not sure what is the issue here and why it is not starting anything. I increased the time out value from 600 to 1800 in opmn.xml file for all components but no help. It keep on waiting and time out.
Server side I did check ping localhost DNS entries in /etc/resolv.conf. But everything works well.
Any clue ?

Please mention your application release along with the database version and OS.
Was this working before? If yes, any changes have been done recently?
Can you find any details about the error in the opmnctl.sh script log file?
Please run AutoConfig and make sure it completes successfully.

OBIEE 11g opmnctl services cannot start (ping failed in ready callback)

Hi,
The BI server is up and running
The platform is Linux, searching forums it's due to /etc/hosts and it is defined as
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.1 <servername>.<domain> <servername>
All OPMN services cannot start with error messages (ping failed in ready callback).
Any idea is highly appreciated !!!

Make sure static ip r u using? If u used to installed dynamic
Ip it throw this kind off issue . I have face this same issue in obiee11.1.1.3 with dynamic ip address

Query on install Oracle AS Forms and Reports Services

Hi All,
I want to install 'Oracle Internet Application Server Products - Forms and Reports', I referenced the 'Forms and Reports Services Installation Guides 10g Release 2(10.1.2) for Windows B16392-02'.
I install successfully up to Chapter 5.
When I jump into Chapter 6 of the release (Configuring Forms and Reports Services to Use an Oracle Application Server Infrastructure), I followed the guideline but could not see my AS has any way to allow me to configure Oracle Identity Management/OracleAS Metadata Repository/Starting OPMN Services/Testing the Configuration.... Is it because my AS is just for Forms and Reports and not a full feature one? How I can test my AS is working?
On the other hand, is it possible to migrate forms and reports from old version like Developer 2000 4.5 to 10g? Any reference or suggestion?
And what I need to do more with the current AS in order to allow me to upload forms and reports to it? Please kindly advise.

Hi AC!
There are two versions of Forms and Reports: one standalone and one as part of the Application Server. The second one will offer the Infrastructure. If you use the second one then you will have an Infrastructure after the installation.
Seems to me that you do not have the complete AS but the standalone version.
