Opmnctl fails to start with error:  "Main: Nls Initialization Failed!!"

Hi. Just thought I would add this here since someone else will probably hit this error when attempting to start opmnctl: "Main: Nls Initialization Failed!!" when using 10g App Server on Windows.
There is a known workaround, which is to avoid libociei.so, but I don't have that object on windows, so I found that I have some conflict with other installed programs on this server. I removed them from the path, even the end of the path, opened a new command window, then, opmn started with no problem.
Probably not a long term solution, but if you are working on a dev server, like I am, you probably have a bunch of stuff installed that is no longer used ;)
Hope this helps someone,
Robin

Actually, I would first check on metalink to see if there is anything that can help with this error message. I resolved it by cleaning up the environment, but you probably need to keep your existing environment the way it is, since you have already installed.
Sorry--I didn't read through your question very well the first time.

    Hi,
I am new to EBS and Solaris OS . So can you send me command to check the above question.
and how to change if any setting so that we can successfully run the EBS12.1.1 on Solaris. When you did the installation, did you select to go with one OS user (i.e. oracle) or multiple users (i.e. applmgr and oracle)? You can verify this by issuing "ls -l" command on the application tier node files and the database tier node files, this should tell you the owner of the files.
One more thing which may be helpfull.
I have downloaded the zip files from E delivery and i have unzip the files on Mount drive.
So i think during the process of unzip it will create the staging area... I am right...??
And is there anything like we cannot create Staging Area on Mount drive.Correct, just put all the files under one directory and extract it, and this will create the stage area directory for you.
Do we need to apply additional patches ...??
we have already applied below patches....as listed in Doc ID: 761568.1
    125100-04 or higher
    120473-05 or higher
    127111-02 or higher
137111-04 or higherThose are OS patches and should be applied before starting the installation (mandatory).

    Hi Mikhail,
first of all, if your an official SAP customer, then please open OSS/CSS messages for such cases.
However, if you've got a Preview installation or similar, then we could proceed as is.
To solve your issue, we'd recommend a <b>recovery using the latest data backup available</b>.
To find out the cause of the problem (i.e. to find out what causes the problem with the blob/long), we'd need either:
    1. system access* (pcAnywhere/WTS),
    or even better:
    2. your latest data backup AND we'd need you to put the DB instance into ADMIN mode and make a LOG backup. We'd need that Log backup then too.
This might get time consuming, so if you prefer a 'quick' around the problem, we suggest to perform the mentioned recovery.
    Kind regards,
    Roland
*: concerning system access: we can only access official SAP customer systems going over saprouters.

I believe that your system is facing some corruptions.
The easiest way to proceed would be to migrate the server content to another location, re-install it and migrate them back.
Otherwise, you can try running chkdsk /r /f and sfc /scannow
    and see if this helps.

Aperture is crashing in the Facebook publisher plug-in. You may have synced back corrupted image files from Facebook, that cannot be processed. Have you recently edited or changed photos in your Facebook galleries?
Try if you can launch Aperture with the SHift-key held down. That will defer the generation of previews. Perhaps this way you can get access to Aperture and temporarily disable Facebook, and check if the synced albums contain photos with problematic filenames or other corruptions.

    Hi,
IP Helper (service name 'iphlpsvc') is apparently designed to improve a Windows PC's support for IPv6 network protocol.
I suggest you try enable  the dump collection by copying following words into notepad, saving it as dump.reg and importing it:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\localdumps\iphelper.exe]
    "DumpFolder"=hex(2):63,00,3a,00,5c,00,63,00,72,00,61,00,73,00,68,00,64,00,75,\

    Hi athol49,
Which account you have used to logon this machine?
This error code is mostly related with the service permission, which indicates that the permission is not configured correctly.
Try to boot into safe mode and check this issue again, make sure there is no 3rd-party software involved.
Next thing is to create another admin account( or enable the built-in admin account to create a new admin account, as this one have permisssion issues), then check this issue again.
Further, run the DISm command to make sure there is no component issue:
    DISM /Online
    /Cleanup-Image
    /RestoreHealth
    /source:WIM:X:\sources\Install.wim:1
    /LimitAccess
Where the X: is the drive for the install media, or the mounted ISO.

Does anyone know what this is or how to prevent it from
    occurring?
    I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2.
    Thanks much,

Not according to my computer - (actually its at least 4 years now) which among so many other errors have haunted me from the day I bought it and took it home. I've spent literally a year of time out of the 5 I've had this laptop which btw is a home computer,
not a small business pc - searching, trying fixes that didn't work, searching more trying fixes that worked only to have the same scenario begin again 2-3 months down the road OR new ones pop up - which starts the process all over again. I'm now getting BSOD's
about once every 2-3 days with no reason in the event viewer.
And I continue to work on all the errors, warnings and critical errors with no results. I just wish Microsoft would fix these issues instead of developing new OS's that not only carry these problems over but add new ones to each new OS. Don't misunderstand
me. I like Windows, in fact I'm one of the very few graphic artists out there that prefer it over a MAC but its quite disheartening to be continually working on these issues to say the least.
Of course, it's just my opinion....I could be wrong!
