OPMNCTL services , OEM alerts

Hi,
To check the status of the OPMNCTL services in Oracle AS servers and send an email alert when the processes are down?
How do i configure my OEM for sending mail if any error occure in log (HTTP).
Thanks

1. From your OEM home page Go to Preferences --> Rules you will find list notification rules like "OC4J Availability and Critical States"
2. Create your own rule "Anyname" by using crete like from any of your similar existing Rule.
3. Under target type you can select "Portal" or "Report Server" etc
After that you have Go to --> Administrators --> Select "your User Name" and select "Subscribe to Rules"
Check at Metalink Under "Knowledge" tab Select "Enterprise Manager" link from Product Categoires, You will find some useful documents.
That is ) Home > Enterprise Manager > Enterprise Manager 10g Monitoring Features > Notifications and Blackouts

  • Setting OEM Alerts

    Hi,
I have an issue in receiving OEM alerts if archive destination > n%. I'm trying to receive email notification if archive destination > 95%. In the target database, I set Metric and Policy Settings Archive Area Used (%) to warning 95. Then, in preferences rules, I created a rule with checking e-mail notification as below:
Archiver Hung Alert Log Error All Objects Critical, Warning, Clear
Archiver Hung Alert Log Error Status n/a Critical, Warning, Clear
Archive Area Used (%) All Objects Critical, Warning, Clear Succeeded, Problem Succeeded, Problem
All notifications setup are correct because I'm recieving alerts for tablespaces usage.
I checked log_archive_dest in both init and spfile, all are set correctly.
Please advise what am I missing.
    Thanks in advance

Yes, I even changed that to > 1% and copied files to the destination to make sure that the space used >1%.
I still did not receive any notification :(

  • Configuring OEM alerts to Mobile

Can someone send me the metalink note how to configure OEM alerts to mobile........

    hi,
could you explain how to configure mobile alerts in 9i amd 10g.

  • Can we redirect OEM alerts to a separate logs on the server.

    Hi,
We are using OEM11GR1 and we are getting the alerts as per the expecation. Till now we are managing the issues manually i.e upon receiving the OEM alert we will raise internal ticket and will close upon resolution. Since day by day alerts getting increased, we would like to use unicenter tool (third party tool purchased by client) for issue tracking system. For this tool, OEM alert should be available in the server as a log file, So that it will do the need full.
My question is weather is it possible to generate a log file rather than sending OEM alert to users upon any issue.
Please let us know if any further clarification is required on my question.
    Regards
    DBA.

Yes you are able to integrate with any ticketing system.
take a look at OTN, for connectors to other systems like HP ServiceCenter etc.
Apart from that, using Notification Methods you are able to implement any integration thinkable.

  • BAM getting random timeouts calling BPEL web service as alert rule

I have a BAM alert rule set up to call a BPEL process (web service call basically). This is part of our custom error notification and escalation solution.
In production I randomly see timeouts in the BAM event engine logs where the web service call has timed out. On the BPEL side these processes never show as being invoked, nor are they in manual recovery.
This only happens at random times, although usually in "clumps" lasting a few minutes. The rest of the time this has been fairly reliable.
Any help from the BAM experts would be appreciated. I would open an SR on this, but I have found support to literally take days/weeks to get back to me on BAM issues -- and this particular issue does not seem to be reliably reproduceable.
Here is the event engine log message:

  • Blocking Service Call alerts

When a Service Call is added andassigned to a 'Handled By' person, standard SBO functionality sends an alert message to the person.
Is there any way to block these messages or prevent them from being generated without disabling the entire message service?
    Regards,
    Douglas

    Hi Douglas,
I'm not sure where it is set, but I use the service module daily and do not receive these alerts, so there must be some way to suppress them.
Perhaps under System Initialisation> Gerneral Settings on the services tab, the alert for activities scheduled for today? Mine is not set.
It may be a matter of trial & error.....

  • Windows Azure Cloud Service Downtime alert

    Hi,
One of the Cloud services that we have deployed on Windows Azure Cloud services using Azure Worker role is unexpectedly transitioning to Stopped state. There doesn't appear to be any valid reason behind this  and it runs normally after we switch to
    running state from portal.
Is it possible to develop some alert service which informs the Administrator or configured alert users that the Cloud service has shut down ? We tried to configure the Windows Azure alert but the metrics & logging doesn't seem to match with Cloud service
downtime. Please let us know what is the diagnositics or logging option which we should make use to come up an optimal design for the Alert system.
    Thanks in advance,
    Deepesh
    Thanks & Regards, Deep

    Hi,
From my experience, several operations in the Service Management API permit you to manage your cloud service either by referencing a deployment by its deployment name, or by referencing the deployment environment (staging or production) in
which the deployment is running. Refer to
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/ee460812.aspx for more information about Operations on Cloud Services, we can do lots of things via this API, in “Get Cloud Service Properties” section, it has a “RoleInstanceList” property, refer to
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/ee460806.aspx#bk_roleinstancelist for more information about
RoleInstanceList. In this article it has PersistentVMDowntime property, the detail information as following.
    PersistentVMDowntime
Specifies information about when the Virtual Machine has been started and stopped.
The PersistentVMDowntime element is only available using version 2012-03-01 or higher.
Hope this helps, if this didn’t give you help, please feel free to let me know.
    Best Regards

  • Oracle Service Bus - Alert Destination on JMS Queue

Hi Guys, I have been trying to create Alert destination with email destinations and have been successful. The problem that I am facing now is when I am trying to create an Alert Destination to a JMS Queue. I am using the correct format that you generally use for a JMS URI. -- jms://<host>:port/<factoryJNDIName>/<QueueJNDIName>
This, is the scenario. I have an Alert Rule specified in one of my proxy services, which basically sends out the fault to the Alert Destination as configured above. This alert will be triggered
when the error count in the Proxy Service exceeds 3. But I do not seem to be getting the messages into my queue which I am monitoring from weblogic console.
However, I do get all the messages that I trigger from a separate biz service that I had made just to test the authenticity of my JMS Configuration.
Any one experienced this before? Specifically related to SLA Alerts/Alert Destinations configuration on JMS Queues?

Thank you for your response. Well, Let me see if I can explain in a clearer way.
As you already know, Alert Destination (used for SLA Alerting for example) in OSB have two destinations that you can configure. One - an email recipient(s), who will get the email when the alert (configured in your proxy service and bounded to this alert destination is triggered) . Two - a jms queue, where the same "alert" can be pushed to.
My question is - I have configured the JMS Destination on the Alert Destination configuration page as such - jms://localhost:7001/testConnFact/testQueue
(testConnFact and testQueue being the JNDI names of the connection factory and queue respectively configured in weblogic server)
When the alert (configured in the proxy service) is triggered, (like maybe, due to the error count being more than 3), I should be getting the message pushed into the queue, because, that's the destination I have set in this ALERT DESTINATION.
I am NOT getting it however.
On a diff note, when I am creating a business service in OSB on a JMS protocol giving the URI of the queue created in weblogic, I AM getting the messages into the Queue. This, I had done, to test whether my configuration for the queue is correct or not.
So it seems that Queue configuration on weblogic is correct, however, the alert destination is simply not pushing the messages to the queue.
    Hope this was clear.

  • Message Services and Alerts !!!

    Hi All,
I have been trying to post a new message that appears in the Alert/Messages window. I been successfull in that but the problem is that until i restart B1 the new message does not appear in the window.
I want to alert the user as soon as the message is posted to B1. Is this possible either through Messages/Alerts or any other way
    I am using SAP B1 2005A SP01 PL4
    Thanks in advance
    Amit

    Hi,
Have a look at the parametrization of B1 under AdministrationSystem InitializationGeneral Settings, under Services folder. I suppose the "Update Messages(Min)" field is set to a big number. Also check the "Display Inbox when new messages arrive" option.

  • Cloud Service Monitor Alert Can't be Created

    Hi Team,
we had a cloud service deployed at Azure North Ireland Data Center,
i would like to create monitor for the role instance, but when creating alert it shows an error, and the alert can't be created.
    thanks in advance

    Hello Baker,
    Thanks for posting here!
I reproduced the issue on my system it works fine for me.
As per the description provided what I have understood is that the configuration did not go successfully or could be a problem in execution.
Delete the configuration and try to reconfigure the Alerts.
Sometimes it could be the browser issue. Try deleting cache and cookies and then try again or try with different browser.
If it doesn't work, I suggest you could try to deploy a new cloud service and the try to configure the Alerts.
You might want to check the below mentioned links for better understanding:

  • OEM Alerts Issue ?

    hi friends!
I am using oracle 10g OEM and usually its show different alerts in very first screen. I have defined different values for thresh holds for tablespaces but its not generating alerts whenever tablespace used 90% or above. Any idea for this problem?
    regards
    Irfan Ahmad

    Hi,
Are you able to see alerts on database home page of OEM console?
If the answer is NO,then problem is with your "metrics and policy" settings.
If there are alerts in DB home page, then problem will be either with your "notification rule" or "Notification Method".
Go to      Preferences>Notification>Rules -->to check your current notification rules.
Go to Setup>Notification Methods>Mail Server --> Try to send a test mail

  • Clear out OEM Alerts messages

I would like to know any means to clear out alert messags on Alerts tab of OEM console. I found that some of them remains there since the installation of OEM.
Even I log on as SYSMAN, i don't find any checkbox beside the messages for removing it.

Been asked many times before ..
    3 answers ..
    1) Some alerts you can manually clear - a box will allow this, no box then no you cant clear it manually.
    2) Alerts are self clearing, fix the problem the alert will clear itself
    3) Broken in older versions, some times you need to stop/start the agent to clear an alert
