Opps! Web adress bar is gone in Safari

I accidently managed to drag the web adress bar I think that's what you'd call it:
the place where you would put http://www.apple.com
Could someone please tell me how to get this back?

Were you adding buttons to the Custom Toolbar in Safari????
If so, here's what to do:
-Go to Safari
-Go to VIEW > CUSTOM TOOLBAR
-There should be a toolbar that is labeled "Standard," drag this to the toolbar and the address bar should appear again; allowing you to use Safari correctly.

It sounds like the navigation bar has just been disabled. Just right click next to a tab in the header and in the context menu that pops up, enable ''Navigation toolbar'' and ''Bookmarks toolbar''

Can someone help me get my web address bar back up on Safari?

I don't really know what you call it, but the bar that you type web addresses in, at the top of the page, somehow disappeared. If I use this browser it is only to visit pages that I had bookmarked, because I have no way of typing in new addresses. I'm not really sure what I did, but it's gone...
I have Safari 2.0.4, but I just don't see anything in Preferences or anywhere else that will help me get bar back on the page. Can someone help me?

I use google search as my home page - when i start firfox or open a new tab manualy i want to have the focus start in the google search box, but in stead it stays in the search bar - is there a way to correct this behaviour as i generally start typing without looking at the screen and before i know it i hit enter and the results are returned from Yahoo or some such.

The problem seems to be caused by the 'New Tab Homepage' add on. So:
# Disable or remove the 'New Tab Homepage' add on and restart firefox.
# Download and install the firefox add on called 'NewTabURL' and restart firefox.
# Click on the Options button for NewTabURL and uncheck 'Select location bar after loading new tab'
# Under the 'Default URL for new tabs' heading, choose 'Home Page'
# Click on the Save button.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If you are using Safari for Mac, it could be a Safari extension causing this.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari, try a video.
It would really help when you post to tell us which operating system you are using, Mac or Windows.
You could also try troubleshooting the Flash plugin which is required for most of the content on YouTube.

I would recommend reinstalling Mountain Lion to replace the missing/damaged components of these applications. While the process shouldn't affect any data (images, music, etc) you have on the system, it's always a good idea to have a backup in place prior to reinstalling.

I updated to ios5 but I can't find reader in the adress bar. Does someone know were I can find or download reader.

Hi djurrefromthenetherlands, I was having the same issue but after some poking around realized
that "reader" only appears when viewing a single article on a web page.
It's not really a great feature of Safari for iOS 5 in MHO. I was expecting it to be more like an RSS
Reader of sorts, so I'm disappointed somewhat. Reading List is also just a glorified list of bookmarks.
I think getting a dedicated RSS App for Google Reader is a much better option.

How can I make the status bar always visible in safari? Even when I go to "View" and then select "show status bar," the status bar still disappears unless my cursor is hovering over it. I want to be able to see the time, battery life etc. while surfing the web in safari!

When Safari is in FullScreen mode, menu bar will be hidden.
Safari window to fit the screen?
Move the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the Safari window.
Double arrows will appear. Drag it to resize the window to fit the screen.

Using ML 10.8.1 and Safair 6.0
After Java patch 1.7.0_07 ENable applet plug-in and Web start checkbox is gone! The check box to enable Safari to load Java pages is 100% gone, missing, just not there anymore.
When I go to the Java test page it shows that I have Java 7 loaded. Has anyone else run into this problem or have a solution to enable true load loading in Safari and bring back the Enable applet plug-in and Web Start application check box in ML...

I found out something very interesting. I noticed that another page would show up for less than have a second before the ML Java Preference would show up. I did a video recording of this and moved frame by frame. I show that the page / pane showing up had the following option:
Run applets: in their own process
within their browser process
Both boxes for the two are unchecked.
Then this page would disappear and nother would show up without the option / check box
Enable applet plugin and Web Start applications
Strange

Finder menu not accessible. When clicking finder menu all icons blink. Clock gone. Safari quits "help data plug in" Etc.

When I attempt to click anywhere on my top menu bar all of my desktop icons blink and I am not able to access anything such as my apple icon, shut down or restart or file, etc. My clock is gone, my search bar is gone, etc. Safari also keeps quitting unexpectedly while using the "help data" plug in. I can attempt to add video of the action if necessary if you need it. Any help would be really appreciated. First time using the community. Thank you!

Update: If I click somewhere in the menu bar everything flashes as previously posted. But if I click the menu bar again after the flash I can then access the options in the bar, but everthing still missing as reported and safari crashing.

now i want to ask that is there is way to hide the adress in the adress bar of internetexplorer

Bookmark bar items gone

Just glanced up to go to a certain page and realized all the items on my Bookmark Bar are gone. I tried to restore from Time Machine but the button is grey.
They WERE on my iPhone for a minute, but now the sync has taken over and they're gone there, too. Sigh.
Everything else looks good. Any ideas?

I went to Go to Folder and searched for ~/Library/Safari/ (a suggestion from another post) then entered Time Machine. Then I went to yesterday and the Restore button was gray. I tried different day and times and still it's gray.

Adress bar search

I need help to change my search engine on the adress bar. The problem is : When i write a word to adress bar to search on web my mozilla firefox 4.0 browser finds it with ' Open Dns ' .. How can i change it to google or any other adress ??

If you are redirected to an Open DNS website then that means that you are using the Open DNS servers. Those servers do that by default if a DNS lookup fails and you will have to change to other DNS server if you want to change that behavior.
