Which 10g release supports Solaris x86 version 10?
Hi,
I downloaded Oracle 10.1.0.3 for Solaris x86. When I installed it, I got error, saying I can only install this version on Solaris 9 x86. Do you have any idea which Oracle 10g version supports Solaris x86 version 10?
Thanks
LHi,
If we believe metalink, Oracle 10gR1 is already certified for Solaris x86
Solaris Operating System x86 Version 10
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 10g
Status: Certified
Certification Note:
Install Information:
o 1. Execute runInstaller with the -ignoreSysPrereqs option.
o 2. Select 'Do not create a starter database' when installing Oracle 10g.
o 3. During installation, the warning message 'SUNWsprox package not installed' can be ignored. Press Continue to resume the installation.
o 4. Download and install patch 4186426 from metalink.oracle.com after installing Oracle 10g software.
o 5. If you have an End User Solaris 10 distribution, install the SUNWuiu8 package prior to installing the 10g client.
Have you run installer like recommended in point 1 ?
For 10gR2, you need to wait december for certification.

Does Ops Center 12c Release 1 PSU2 (update 2) work with T4 and solaris 11.1
From the release notes of Ops Center 12c Release 1 PSU2 (update 2)
Issues With Upgrading to Oracle Solaris 11.1
Oracle Solaris 11.1 is supported in Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center 12.1.2.0.0 but is not supported in prior versions of Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center. In addition, an issue with Oracle Solaris 11.1 prevents Oracle VM Server for SPARC management on Oracle SPARC T4 servers using the Oracle Solaris 11.1 OS. See the Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center Release Notes for more information.
Does any one know if there has been a fix for this yesWe were told this was actually a problem in OC not S11.1, and this was fixed in U2.
I know this contradicts with the other answer, but thats the info we received from Oracle. -
Oracle OpenWorld and Ops Center 12c
When I was at Oracle OpenWorld two weeks ago, I could have sworn the Ops Center booth was running an unreleased version of Ops Center (to be 12c). If that is the case, what is the estimated release date of this product? And will it be like Oracle Enterprise Manager, and only run on Oracle Linux? Or is Ops Center 11g just being rebranded under the Enterprise Manager "12c" brand?
At Oracle OpenWorld, Oracle showed a preview of the next release of Ops Center plus the currently shipping version 11gR1. Oracle cannot discuss specific future release dates over public forums, but should you have a local Oracle account team servicing your company you can reach out to them and find out more information via the non-disclosure agreement process.
Ops Center works on Solaris (x86 and SPARC), Oracle Linux, and several RPM distributions of Linux. I will also note that Enterprise Manager 12c also works on a large variety of Operating Systems. We currently only see the Oracle Linux version downloadable because it is their release process to release Oracle Linux first and then follow up that release with additional downloads for the other Operating Systems in the weeks that follow. -
Can't figure out where else to post this, these forums are lacking structure where it should be. Nothing that I can find relates to LDOMs or Ops Center (yeah, I know it's virutalization...)
Currently Ops Center only supports LDOM version 1.2 (1.0.2) for CMT systems. When will it support 1.0.3? There were quite a few nice udpates between them, and the 1.0.3 has been out for quite a while. From what I can tell, there has been at least 1 or 2 updates to Ops Center since 1.0.3 was released.Found what I needed through other avenues

Unable to activate ASR for an asset in Ops Center
While activating an asset in ASR it gets failed. There was a case opened with Oracle but they suggested to Re-install Oracle Ops Center . Is there any alternate method to solve this issue .
The problem was that a host was added a long time ago with another IP address and it was not removed . After chanign the IP it is unable to recognise the asset and activate ASR. Is there any option to remove the old conflicting entry of the asset .
Thanks/Regards
Mohammed SadiqHello Mohamed,
This question is complex. There are 2 sides :
#1 one is the cleanup of the asset with wrong IP
#2 the other is the ASR activation problem
For issue #1 , to do the cleanup we need a jmxdump to understand the level of the cleanup that needs to be done. This would need to be worked in the case you have.
About the ASR issue #2, the activation fails because it is trying to activate a wrong formatted serial number
"ERROR The assets serial number ({0}) was not found in your CSI(s)"
So we would need more debug traces. I would suggest you create new SR if you don't have one already.
Please ask the SR owner to engage me if you want we discuss about it.

Provisioning Solaris 11 with Ops Center
The current release of Ops Center 11g does not support provisioning of Solaris 11 (Express).
Is it planned that future releases of Ops Center support the provisioning of Solaris 11 ?
SvenHello Kai,
I am not sure to completely understand your logs since they don't seem to be written in English but
could it be that you are using Firefox 4.0 ? ( only firefox 2 and 3 and IE 7 and 8 are supported ).
Also, do you have enough free RAM ( 1-2 GB ) on the browser's machine ?
Lastly, you can check the prerequisites with
/var/opt/sun/xvm/OCDoctor/OCDoctor.sh ec-prereq force
/var/opt/sun/xvm/OCDoctor/OCDoctor.sh --troubleshoot
Cheers

To Forum Users,

Did oracle have any bug / patches for this issue ? or any planned release for / against this vulnerabilities ?Hello AkankshaSheoranKaler
We have done the following, but we aren't able to resolve this issue. Thank you for your help!

“This happen if the software library is not accessible, readable or unmounted (if it is in shared file system).”
On Enterprise Manager server [nsn175-105], we did the following:
1. we modified /etc/exports to include this line: /export *(rw,no_root_squash,sync)
we start nfs service by executing command “service nfs start”.
On Management Agent server (nsn175-89), we verified that we are able to mount /export directory of EM server.
On Management Agent server, we started firefox browser and were able to run successfully https://nsn175-105.us.oracle.com:4904/empbs/genwallet
After making this change, we ran agent deployment again. We encountered the same error as shown above.
“You can fix the software library or you can download the agent bits in offline mode.”
For fixing the software library, select Setup->Provision and Patching->Offline Patching, then select Offline Patching radio button, download: https://updates.oracle.com/download/em_catalog.zip. Next upload this zip file.
“Try downloading the bits again”
We are not sure what agent bits are. Would you please explain this and provide procedure how we can download this?
(Here I have attempted to fix the software library, but I am new to Enterprise Manager and not sure how to interpret this). -
Provision M4000 with Ops Center
what're the steps to Provision Sparc M4000 with Ops Center 12c.
I want build server with new OS Solaris 11.2 then build zonesAbsolutely, you can use Ops Center to deploy any 3rd party application, scripts, TAR/ZIP files, configuration files and pre/post action scripts. After uploading those as 'Local Content', you can either deploy them through "View/Modify Catalog" under each OS asset, or use OS profile to automate the deployment of multiple components together.
Please review the following document about Local Content:

Does it support install OEM12c with OEM12c ops center into same machine?
Hi,
I'm not familiar for OEM and OPS center.
- Does it support install OEM12c and OEM12c ops center into same machine?
- Would you please share any hardware / OS in OEM12c and OEM12c ops center?
Thanks.Holger,
Thanks for the reply, that was useful.
I posted this message in service markeplace, and got a reply from SAP, and they do not have out of box solution. Since the project is on aggressive schedule, may be this issue, which involves lot of devlopment needs to tackle in next proect cycle.
Qustion regarding the Apache was also resolved. Reply from SAP is posted below.
Thanks,
Durga
HI Mr Durga,
Can a user say "abc" can have different content displayed while he
logins from Internet or intranet.
This feature is not provided with the standard Delivered NWO4 suite.
I would ask you to take this query in the sdn forum,as these type of
questions are answered by SAP consulting guys.
As far as multitenant EP is concerned,
Based on ramp-up experience and customer feedback, SAP has decided to
not release the IT scenario variant "Implementing a Multitenant Portal"
for general availability after SAP NetWeaver 2004s ramp-up.
Refer to the documentation link

Second question:
Does Apache installation is supported on the Virtual machine.
Installation of Apache as DMZ is not Recommended by SAP.
SAP Recommends SAP Web Dispacher.
But SAP supports to a certain extend,if the client is using Apache.
Please refer to the attached Note

Solaris releases supported?
I am working on an issue where we need to run old releases of Solaris 10 in order to test our application. We were led to believe that since the hypervisor abstracts that hardware from the OS that we could upgrade our hardware and still run an older OS. For example, we have a requirement to run Solaris 10 update 2. But the release notes for LDOMs 1.2 and 1.3 say that we have to run a minimum Solaris release and/or a minimum kernel patch level in order for our OS to be supported.
Can anyone clarify the rules for guest OSes? Does nayone successfully run unpatched old releases in LDOM guests?
Thanks! The release notes recommend (as oppose to require) a specific version so that all the features are enabled.
Running older versions of Solaris in the guest domains is supported (you just won't have all the features
enabled that are listed in that LDoms release).
However I'm afraid you're out of luck with the S10U2 requirement as that is not technically possible.
LDoms support went into S10U3 and any older OS version won't have the LDoms drivers.
Personally, I wouldn't bother with anything less than S10U4 in a guest domain.

After Installing Solaris11 through Ops Center the OS Asset is not showing in Ops Center UI.
After Installing Solaris11 on T4-4 through Ops Center the OS Asset is not showing in Ops Center UI. Any Reasons why?
This is because probably caused by the following bugs:
15940804 - The LDom Control Domain OS asset is missing for the t5120 therefore it's unable to successfully provision Solaris 11.1.1 CDOM on a t5120 asset - see workaround above
15818412 - delete asset is not properly cleaning the __local mbeans in the domain model - Fixed in DU3
To reapply the deployment plan, delete the access point and rediscover. Still the plan fails upgrade to the latest version of Ops Center. -
