OPSMGR Connector

I'm getting this 21006 Error.  I've checked the firewalls and there is connectivity.  Any help would be appreciated.
The OpsMgr Connector could not connect to myserverscsm01:5723.  The error code is 10061L(No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.).  Please verify there is network connectivity, the server is running and has registered
it's listening port, and there are no firewalls blocking traffic to the destination.

Hi,
This error should be caused by that the agent is unable to connect to Management Server.
Verify agent can resolve Management Server address and FQDN by using telnet command:
telnet myserverscsm01(FQDN) 5723
What is your Operation Manager version?
We may need to check certificates that used for the management server.
Please restart the Health service on the RMS.
In addition, hope the below article be helpful for you:

    Hi,
    We have one of our Gateway servers in Grey state. When i had checked the eventviewer of the server could find lots of 20066 events and 21042 OpsMgr connector errors.

    Hi Saravanan,
    Please see inline my response.
    1. Was the GW server working properly before?
    Yes the GW server was fine till yestrday and all agents were healthy.
    2. Were valid certificates imported on GW and its corresponding MS
    We have not imported any GW or MS certificates in the past few days.
    3. Is there a communication issue between the GW and its MS?
    Could you help me find out how to find out as i dont find any error in the eventviewer.
    4. Do you see a value named 'ChannelCertificateSerialnumber' under "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Machine Settings". The value you see there should be in exact reverse order of what you see as the Certificate Serial number
    in MMC Certificates snap-in (Run- MMC- Add Snap In -- Certificates -- Computer Account. Expand the personal store and there should be a certificate that scom uses for the GW server.
    I did see the
    ChannelCertificateSerialnumber in the registry entry and the certificate that scom uses and they seems to be different.
    i have 3 certificates in the personal store in which 2 are internal issuing CA ceritificates created using

    The other certificate is an invalid cerificate which has been expired exactly an year ago.

    Windows 2003 Server in the Internet DMZ in a workgroup not reporting to SCOM2012 SP1
    Error logged in the Operations Manager Log on the SCOM2012 Server:
    The OpsMgr Connector negotiated the use of mutual authentication with 1P.IP.IP.IP:4092, but Active Directory is not available and no certificate is installed.
    A connection cannot be established.
    Error logged in operation manager log on Windows 2003 Server:
    The OpsMgr Connector connected to RMS.domain.com, but the connection was closed immediately without authentication taking place.
    The most likely cause of this error is a failure to authenticate either this agent or the server .
     Check the event log on the server and on the agent for events which indicate a failure to authenticate.
    Done the following so far no luck ….
    5723 opened both ways from this Windows 2003 server and our scom2012 SP1 server.
    Created certificates for this Windows 2003 Server numerous times and imported using the momcertimport successfully
    Certs are created using the FQDN of this Windows 2003 Server
    On Windows 2003 Server checked the regkey to make sure the Serial Number of the cert is valid and not screwed up.
    Host file is in place on this Windows 2003 Server pointing to my SCOm2012 SP1 server and pinging is not an issue.
    Stopped the SCOM Agent service on Windows 2003 Server and renamed the folder here C:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager\Agent\health service state and restarted the service.
    Certificate on the SCOM2012 server is also valid and not screwed up in the registry.
    review new manual agent installation in pending management view is also enabled under security on the scom 2012 server
    I don’t see any thing logged in the Agent Logs on my SCOM 2012 Server related to the above installation attempts.
    I know SCOM2012SP1 supports Windows 2003 SP3.  My windows 2003 Servers are SP3.

    Try import with MOMCertimport.exe on the newly added MS. Once you did that all worked as expected.

  • Operations Manager OpsMgr Connector error [event ID21006

    Hello,
    Our office is currently successfully running SCE 2007 SP1 on one system (NEWSCE) however it had been installed previously on a different server (OLDSCE). It would appear that the previous admin had successfully uninstalled the old server and had it successfully removed from the AD however on all of our servers (and some clients) I am seeing the following OpsMgr Connector error.
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: OpsMgr Connector
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 21006
    Date:  2/17/2009

    ).  Please verify there is network connectivity, the server is running and has registered it's listening port, and there are no firewalls blocking traffic to the destination.
    For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
    This error seems to relate to the fact that I have two copies of MonitoringHost.exe resident in memory and when I look in the registry for OLDSCE I find there are two registry key entires for management groups for OLDSCE_MG and NEWSCE_MG
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager\3.0\Agent Management Groups\
    My question is this:
    Can I simply delete the registy key for the OLDSCE_MG managment group and be done with this issue or is there more to it?
    Thanks,

    Hi , how to delete in registers readily . What is the result ?

  • Is there a way of monitoring SCSM connector failures using SCOM

    I have an environment comprising SCSM2012 SP1, SCOM2012 SP1 and SCCM2012SP1 with Orchestrator forwarding the CI data and alerts to a 3rd party CMDB/ServiceDesk system. We have SCSM connectors for AD, SCCM and SCOM CI. There was a recent issue with SCSM UR6
    where the SCCM connector stopped working. I regressed the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.Linking.Consumer.OperationalStore.dll back to the RTM release version and it all works again.
    I want to know if there is a way of monitoring each of the connectors in SCOM to ensure I get alerted if the status of the 3 connectors is anything other than "Finished Success" - maybe only generating an alert if the status stays in a failed status
    for more than 24 hours.
    There appears to be very little documentation on how these connectors work or what errors they write into logs. Any tricks or tips would be appreciated.

    On you management server, if you open Event Viewer, the logs are keep under Application and Services Logs Operations Manager. (Yes, the Service Manager logs are keep in the Operations Manager logs folder) In this folder you should find the event logs for
    your connectors. Just search for different sources to find the connector you want to monitor. Some of the sources include Exchange Connector, OpsMgr Connector, Data Connectors (AD connector), System Center Orchestrator, and Lfx Service (SCCM
    Connector). You could easily setup SCOM or Orchestrator to monitor these logs.

  • OpsMgr Config Service stops automatically

    There's a fresh installation of SCOM 2007 SP1, SQL database is configured on a separate server. The installation itself goes smoothly without any errors. After installation to RTS OpsMgr Config Service stops automatically, after restart it works for about a minute, then stops again. All the other OpsMgr services work correctly. OpsMgr Config Service and OpsMgr SDK Service are run from the same domain account with Domain Admin rights. OpsMgr Health Service is run from Local System account. Here's what I see in the logs:

    What can the problem be here?

    Hi,
    Since here is the forum for Exchange, we may only be expert on Exchange Monitoring by SCOM related issue. For issue on error event from SCOM 2007,we recommend you to use Newsgroup for Operation Managers 2007 to get relevant help.

    2.    Then please Check Remove sub keys from
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application that refer to OpsMgr Config Service.
    3.    Please remove OpsMgr Config Service from “Sources” located at
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application.
    4.    After that please add OpsMgr Config Service to “Sources” at
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Operations Manager.

  • Delete an SCSM Connector

    I created a connector to SCOM in SCSM, it was manually removed from SCOM.  Now I cannot delete the SCSM connectors that were connected with SCOM.

    Deleting the connector in SCOM can be done (unsupported):
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2009/09/10/removing-an-old-product-connector.aspx
    Due to the similarities between the products, the SQL queries that Kevin shows for removing the connector from OpsMgr also work on SCSM .. but it would be a big risk to try it out in a Production environment. The prudent action might be just to rename the
    connector in SCSM to "Decommsissioned OpsMgr connector" or similar.
    Good Luck

  • Service Manager 2012 R2 Looking for the SDK method for Select All management packs OMCI Connector

    Hi all,
    I'm working through a script that updates the OpsMgr CI connector's MP sync list after a MP import. What I want to do is a Select All to sync the OpsMgr MP's I just imported into Service Manager. Just like checking the Select All
    box after refreshing the connector in the GUI.
    I have been through the cmdlets and looked at the assemblies in VS. I can't find the method that does this.
    I found IsNullPropertySkipped under
    Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.Connectors.OpsMgr but that's it
    And nothing in here
    Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.Sdk.Connectors.Connector
    Must be missing it, and am not having much luck with TechNet.
    Thanks much–Drew

    I'm afraid you won't find a quick'n'easy solution for this. I'll start out by saying I don't know if Powershell has any cmdlets for this..but I know you can use the .NET SDK via powershell to do whatever you need to do. So my post focuses on the SDK/C#. You
    should be able to adapt it in Powershell.
    The function you want to replicate (check-all) is unique to the Operations Manager CI connector implementation and, as such, my post below may sound a bit overwhelming.
    Let me start by describing where an OM CI connector's selected management packs are stored. They're stored in the connector's workflow rule (specifically, in its WriteAction module).  Take a look at the ServiceManager.LinkingFramework.Configuration
    management pack where all OM CI connector rules are stored. Look for a rule that starts with "OMConnector." (the dot will be followed by some random string of text and "_SyncRule"). Take a look at the <WriteAction> and you'll see an <MPList>
    node that contains a bunch of <MPInfo> nodes. Each <MPInfo> node represents a management pack that was selected in the OM CI Connector wizard.
    So, if I understand what you're trying to do, when you import a new MP into Service Manager, you want to add that MP to the OM CI connector's sync list. First; if that MP doesn't exist in OpsMgr, there isn't much point to adding it to the sync list, so I'll
    assume you want to add MPs to the sync list that also exist in OpsMgr). Second; there may be other constraints on what MPs you can actually choose in that OM CI wizard and it would be wise to respect those constraints in your own solution. In any case, you'll
    have to modify the OM CI connector's rule's write action. There are a couple approaches you can try.
    You can try using Microsoft's helper classes that were built for OM CI Connectors (check out the OpsMgrConnectorHelper class and related classes in the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.OpsMgrConnectorUtils.dll.
    Also check out the OpsMgr connector wizard classes in the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.ServiceManager.UI.Administration.dll).
    The other possible approach is to modify the connector's rule directly using the SDK's ManagementPackRule and ManagementPackWriteActionModule classes. You can easily get your OM CI connector's rule using the management pack's "GetRule" method (or the EnterpriseManagementGroup's
    Monitoring.GetRule method). The management pack rule has a "WriteActionCollection" which is a collection of ManagementPackWriteActionModule objects. There should be only one ManagementPackWriteActionModule in an OM CI rule's write action collection.
    This object has a "Configuration" property..it contains a giant block of XML that holds all of the <MPInfo> nodes I mentioned earlier. So, you can modify that block of XML, then write the changes back to the management pack using the management pack's
    AcceptChanges() method. Here's the basic structure:
    ManagementPack mpLinkingFramework = emg.ManagementPacks.GetManagementPack(new Guid("50DAAF82-06CE-CACB-8CF5-3950AEBAE0B0")); //ServiceManager.LinkingFramework.Configuration
    ManagementPackRule mpr = mpLinkingFramework.GetRule("<my connector's rule's name>");
    ManagementPackWriteActionModule mpwam = mpr.WriteActionCollection[0];
    String myConfig = mpwam.Configuration; //This is the XML block you want to update
    myConfig = "<a modified configuration with my new <MPInfo> node>";
    mpwam.Configuration = myConfig;
    mpLinkingFramework.AcceptChanges();
    Please note I haven't personally tried modifying an OM CI connector's rule using this method and I can't promise it will work..you'll definitely want to try it in a test environment first. But I can say I have modified my own connectors (and other write actions)
    using this technique and it works fine. I just can't say for sure how it might affect an OM CI connector since I haven't tried it myself.
    Though my post here is definitely _not_ a solution, hopefully it will give you some guidance on how you might approach your solution.
    Maybe someone else here has personally used the OM CI connector classes and can give you some better insight.

  • A device which is not part of this management group has attempted to access this Health Service.

    Has anyone found an answer to this yet?  I have uninstalled/reinstalled the agents both manually and through the push. Rebooted the client, rebooted the  sce server. Forced the group policy to reapply, forced the health agent to /reportnow and I still get the error. The client shows up under the agent managed section but under the health state column it shows not monitored. The clients can ping the SCE server by FQDN and RDP to it as well so name resolution is working fine.

    Hey Nathan,
    Yea I have sent the script to eveyone that has aked for it. I dont know if its helped anybody else as none has given me any feedback either way.
    I guess I can post it here for everyone to use.
    Please keep in mind that if you use this script from MS its at your own risk, If your DB blows up, massive catastrophic failure ensues and so forth ITS YOUR OWN FAULT. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD BACKUPS
    Step 1) Run this against your SCE 2007 DB
    DECLARE @BaseManagedEntityInternalId int
    DECLARE @BaseManagedEntityId uniqueidentifier
    DECLARE @ViewName sysname
    DECLARE @Statement nvarchar(max)
    SET @BaseManagedEntityInternalId = 0
    WHILE EXISTS (SELECT * FROM BaseManagedEntity WHERE (BaseManagedEntityInternalId >
    @BaseManagedEntityInternalId))
    BEGIN
    SELECT TOP 1
    @BaseManagedEntityInternalId = bme.BaseManagedEntityInternalId
    ,@BaseManagedEntityId = bme.BaseManagedEntityId
    ,@ViewName = met.ManagedTypeViewName
    FROM BaseManagedEntity bme
    JOIN ManagedType met ON (bme.BaseManagedTypeId = met.ManagedTypeId)
    WHERE (bme.BaseManagedEntityInternalId > @BaseManagedEntityInternalId)
    AND (bme.IsDeleted = 0)
    ORDER BY BaseManagedEntityInternalId
    SELECT @Statement = 'IF NOT EXISTS (SELECT * FROM ' + QUOTENAME(@ViewName) + '
    WHERE BaseManagedEntityId = ''' + CAST(@BaseManagedEntityId AS varchar(50)) + ''')
    PRINT ''' + CAST(@BaseManagedEntityId AS varchar(50)) + ' ' + @ViewName + ''''
    EXECUTE(@Statement)
    END
    STEP 2)
    If your problem was the same a mine you should get some GUID’s returned.  (For example 93790c0B-09C4-3A4D-CE72-F4E3Dd917D78 MTV_DeploymentSettings)
    Using the GUID that we got in the output file
    Execute the below given query:
    ==========================
    select fullname
    from basemanagedentity
    where basemanagedentityid = ‘<GUID>’
    ==========================
    Verify that the device or the object mentioned in the above output is not displayed in Operations console.
    Only in case if the object is not displayed then use the below given query to delete it from database.
    ==========================
    update basemanagedentity
    set isdeleted = 1
    where basemanagedentityid = ‘<GUID>’
    ==========================
    Before executing the above query please ensure that you have the backup of the database. Also note that you need to run the above said query only incase if you do not see the object in the Operations console.
    After executing this query, run this stored procedure:
    ==========================
    exec p_Detectandfixinstancespaceinconsistencies
    ==========================
    Once it is done:
    > Stop all the three OpsMgr services: health, Config and SDK on Management Server
    > Cleared the health service state folder.
    > Start all the three OpsMgr services: SDK, Config, and health on Management Server.
    > Wait for 30 minutes and see if the agents start getting monitored.
    I hope this helps everyone

  • Operations Manager 2007 R2 Failed RMS Promotion

    Forum,
    I am moving our RMS to a 64-bit computer in preparation to upgrade to Operations Manager 2012. I have followed the directions found in the How to Promote a Root Management Server and it seemed successful. After reviewing the event logs, I have found repeating
    21042 and 29106 events. There appears be a problem with my Secure Storage Key. I have tried creating a new key but that doesn't help. I have tried reinstalling my RMS server but I always end up at the same place. The agents are getting the 20070 error and
    are unable to communicate with the server. Is there a way to rebuild the secure storage key?

    The OpsMgr Connector connected to RMS ServerName, but the connection was closed immediately after authentication occurred.  The most likely cause of this error is that the agent is not authorized to communicate with the server, or the server

    Hi,
    i will explain myscenario:
    Hi All,
    Thanks in advance.
    In my scenario we are having 3 management servers aa.com,  bb.com and cc.com for Texas location we are using gateway server(xyz.com ).
    gateway server is reporting to aa.com and there was no failover management server.due to some issues we shutdown the bb.com Management server and the gateway server goes to grey stage .
    so i want to make the cc.com as primary management server for the gateway server(xyz.com),how can i make it possible,with out using the power shell.for this i followed the above step.

  • Gateway server not able to authenticate

    Hello SCOMMers :)
    I have a issue with my SCOM 2012 R2 system that i just can't get my head around.
    We just purchased a brand new SCOM server that I have migrated our environment to, moved the databases, reporting server and finally i got things up and running after some issues with the DB move.
    So i now have 2 SCOM management servers in my environment and four gateway servers, the gateway servers are communicating to the old SCOM server and i want to move them over to the new SCOM server.
    I ran the powershell commands from this technet article and thought everything was under
    control. But none of the GW servers started communicating with the new SCOM server.
    I have of course checked the certificates, hosts file, DNS and firewalls, and i reran the MOMCertImport.exe utility. Also checked that the certificate serial number was correctly inserted to the registry after the MOMCertImport.exe was run. (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft
    OperationsManager\3.0\Machine Settings, binary value named ChannelCertificateSerialNumber contains the serial number of the certificate in a reverse order)
    Still i was unable to get the GW server to communicate to the correct management server so i decided i to reinstall the GW server so I could set the name of the new SCOM management server during the GW setup. Before i did the reinstall i ran the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.GatewayApprovalTool.exe
    with the /Delete parameter, the command ran successfully.
    When i do the install i still cannot get the communication up and running, the GW server gives me the following errors in the eventlog.
    The GW server appears in my Management Servers list but stays in the Not monitored state.
    Event ID: 20057
    Failed to initialize security context for target MSOMHSvc/<ServerFQDN> The error returned is 0x80090303(The specified target is unknown or unreachable). This error can apply to either the Kerberos or the SChannel package.
    Event ID: 20071
    The OpsMgr Connector connected to tmg-app92.mg.local, but the connection was closed immediately without authentication taking place. The most likely cause of this error is a failure to authenticate either this agent or the server . Check the event log on the server and on the agent for events which indicate a failure to authenticate.
    Event ID: 21001
    The OpsMgr Connector could not connect to MSOMHSvc/<ServerFQDN> because mutual authentication failed. Verify the SPN is properly registered on the server and that, if the server is in a separate domain, there is a full-trust relationship between the two domains.
    Event ID: 21016
    OpsMgr was unable to set up a communications channel to <ServerFQDN> and there are no failover hosts. Communication will resume when <ServerFQDN> is available and communication from this computer is allowed.
    I have installed new certificated on both GW and management server, and i did the SCOM GW installation multiple times, but the issue is the same and the eventlog error also are the same.
    Does anyone have any clue to what might be wrong?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    After you deleting the gateway with Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.GatewayApprovalTool.exe, the gateway object is only marked as deleted in databases. Therefore, try to use different name for the new installed gateway, so the old parameters will not
    be associated with the new gateway.
