Optical drive and HD not working together in 1.67GHZ 15" G4

I have G4 Al 1.67GHz Powerbook that I am unable to make the Optical drive be recognized when the internal HD is connected. If I put the HD in an ext Firewire enclosure and boot from that, the optical drive works fine. I have tried two Motherboards, different flex cables on both drives, different HD and Optical but no change. I did have to load the HD in a 1Ghz 12inch G4 PB since I do not have a newer OS version than 10.4 and I have seen that the 1.67GHz requires 10.4.2. However, I loaded the drive and upgraded it to 10.4.10 before installing it in the 1.67Ghz. It seems to act like a IDE master/slave conflict. I also found an older optical drive that allows you to set the drive as a Master, slave or for cable select. When I set it to slave, it work just fine. the problem is I would like to use the PB with the original UJ-846 Superdrive it came with.
Is it possible that this is a problem with the software load?
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a similar problem on my al powerbook G4 as well. I have a UJ 845e superdrive. It was working just fine, but since I installed Leopard (10.5.1) it stoped working. if i insert a cd or a dvd, it will spin it for a while before rejecting it.
Can you help me with that ???

I am learning, and have a small composition on Edge Animate CC 2014 on Scrolling Parallax, which works very well, and now I want to add a spotlight... but do not working together.

Internal Mic and Bluetooth not working together at the same time

Okay.. so I've been noticing this happen alot lately. Whenever I have my usb wacom tablet plugged in (which is almost always), there would be no internal mic input and bluetooth would become "not unavailable". Also, even when I try an external mic, there was no input. Could this be a coincidence or some related usb-bluetooth problem? Could it be my audio input or tablet driver problem?
I've used my mic to skype before I had installed the tablet. Also before I used garage band to record my sister's guitar with an external mic, there was no problem at all, and of course I didn't have my tablet plugged in at the time. Recorded a whole hours worth of music, and didn't have any problems.
Today.. I checked to see if my internal mic was working before I launched skype, and it was working perfectly, and I also noticed my bluetooth was available (didn't test it though). Then I went on skype talked to friend for about 20min, and suddenly the audio stop working. I had my tablet plugged in from earlier today. I restarted my macbook (with no tablet plugged in) and still mic input isn't working. I tried and external mic, but still nothing. I tried uninstalling skype, still nothing.
This is not the first time this happened, I noticed it would somehow fix itself after a few days every time, and mic and bluetooth would start working again out of nowhere. Which makes it even more weird.
Need help pleaseee!
PS. I tried getting someone to fix it before(a few months ago- I don't really use my mic or bluetooth much), but when I brought it in and started up my mac, at that time it was working again. But now it isn't working =(

UPDATE: I just noticed my bluetooth was no longer "unavailable", so I quickly went into system preferences, and noticed that my internal mic input had some input! Very weak though, only 1-2 bars. So what does this mean?

My notebook is cq60-214dx compaq presario with a windows vista basic operating system. I have pentium dual core inside.
Recently, My usb stop working, there is nothing else hooked up to it for the past year. It is not detecting my flash drive. I did the shut down and unplug thing. I also did the F10 bios test and the hard drive test failed at 61%. I went into the usb root hub and it shows each one is fine and is at 0 mA. The only thing that I see is the microsoft Isatap adapter code 31. A toredo tunneling pseudo interface -code 10 with a caution sign. I 've tried the hp down load and all kind of suggestions that is not working. Is there something I can try to fix the hard drive. I'd like to eventually go to windows 8 operatiing system but I am not fearful.

Unfortunately, the failure code for the hard drive is fortelling you of what is to come. In my opinion I would address the solution by the following specific actions:
1: Back up any data that can be accessed from the original drive, onto an external hard drive. To minimize the risk of losing any information.
2: Replace the failing hard drive, before it gets to the point of complete failure. This may also prevent loss of personal data.
and 3: Decide whether you want to upgrade/restore Microsoft Windows 7 onto the pc. That particular pc has current drivers available online at HP Support for the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
Once this has been completed, then you can recover any personal data that was backed up to the external hard drive, onto the newly installed hard drive.

Screen Flickering Everytime After Updating Synaptics Touchpad Driver And Touchpad Not Working

I have a HP ENVY 4 1023tu Notebook with Windows 8 Pro. I always keep my pc updated. But whenever i try updated the synaptics touchpad driver through availabe updates by hp support assistant, the screen starts to flicker(Start screen and settings bar at the right) and touchpad doesn't work . The external works fine. Then I have to roll back the driver . then it comes to normal. If the driver update is meant to be updated then why its not supporting...

I had the same problem as you with my Hp Probook 450 and I think I found a cause of the problem. I installed Windows 8.1 on it, and when I tried to install touchpad driver, after system restart my screen was blank. My problem is in AMD Radeon graphics card integrated in laptop. When I installed touchpad driver, the graphics driver somehow updated too. The problem is, that AMD only have beta driver for Windows 8.1, while the old one isn't good. So I had to start computer in safe mode and disabled graphics card in Windows device manager. Then I downloaded that beta driver and installed it (still with some small problems) So, the beta driver also isn't perfect, but it will help until they release final version. So I hope that helps you, or anyone, that might have similar problems.

Xserve Not Mounting Firewire Drive and Keyboard Not Working On KVM Switch

A couple of days ago I was swapping out my monthly firewire(800) backup to put the daily one back in place and my daily firewire backup drive will not mount. I've tried swapping out the cables, tried USB and Firewire400 with no avail. I tested the drive on my G5 and whapaa it mounted right away and the data is readable. For some reason my Xserve ignores it. I checked that the lock is in the unlock position so that's not the issue. I ran an xrdiags test last night and it came out fine. I also applied all of the latest updates. HELP!!!
Not sure if this is related, but my Xserve has begun to ignore my KVM switch so I have not direct keyboard/mouse connection. What could be the problem?
The backup drives are Western Digital My Books.

ITunes and iPod not working together. HELP?

So I went to my Mac and put my iPod in it and restored it to factory settings and went to my PC, it said i needed to restore it again, so i did. Now when ever I plug in my ipod, it opens as J drive (J:iPod), so i cant put music on it, etc... when i open itunes, it dosnt show my ipod. ***? and also my ipod says do not disconect and its doing nothing. What shuld i do? (Sorry if someone already had this problem and it was solved, i can't find it if it has happened.)

the weird thing is , after I changed the drive letter , now whenever I connect my video ipod itunes runs automatically .. as if it recognizes the ipod , and yet it still shows none connected !
and when I connect the shuffle , itunes gives me that "do you want to replace the files you have with the ones on the library " thing .... I click no to keep the files I have .. after that it supposed to show me the shuffle , but it does not ! still no ipod connected !

Safari and QuickTime not working together - still....

Just to report further on this issue of Safari giving a Q with a ? in it when trying to play QT content. I have tried all the offerings of solutions in the older threads to no avail and hoped that upgrading to Leopard would solve the problem, but no. I then upgraded to QT 7.3 that came out this morning but no still don't work. I would have thought that a big a problem as this is for a lot of people would have been solved by now.
So anyone else still having problems?
Anyone any more ideas, because Apple don't seem to...

Upload and Delete not working together

I have cfm app that is uploading a file from the client
computer to a server directory successfully. Now i want to delete
the file on the client computer after verifing upload. i have the
app verifing upload, but i get an error when trying to delete file.
the error indicates that syntax is bad, file is not present (which
it is) or tag is invalid. i have been through the docs and have
used the "result" attribute per documentation instructions when
using two cffile tags in the same .cfm page. anyone ever run into
this one? Solutions?

You could not do that well with just cffile. You would also
need to use
cfdirectory!
A small bit of humor to reiterate that YOU CAN NOT DELETE
FILES FROM THE
CLIENT! And it would be an incredibly bad idea if you could.

Photosmart C6180 Wired and Wifi not working together

I recently reinitialized my Photosmart C6180 all in one. Since then I can either use it wired or wireless, but not both at the same time as was the case before. Wireless printing works fine when I unplug the network cable. Once I plug it again, it stops printing wirelessly.
The printer name on the network is HPC61890. I can see it assigned an IP address in my router for both the wired card (.34) and wireless radio (.35). The IP for wireless can only be pinged when the cable is unplugged.
Any idea how to fix this?

I would like to help you with your connection issues. You can connect your printer wireless (on a network) and via USB. But you cannot connect wireless and wired (ethernet). Once the ethernet is plugged in it automatically turns off the wireless.
If you could tell me what operating system you are running I can send a link for the up-to-date software and drivers.

Webcam and daqmx not working together

Hi there,
I have a vi that uses serial-to-usb connections, to acquire data and control external machines. I added a "subcode" to use a webcam for monitoring, it worked fine. then I added another "subcode" to communicate with a USB6009 daq to acquire an analog voltage. So now I can either acquire video from the webcam, or acquire voltage from the daq, but not both. And it's not me who decides what to acquire, it is the vi, the first run it acquires video and ignores the daq (voltage graph is empty), when I abort and run the vi again, it ignores the webcam, and acquires from the daq.
All this happens with no errors.
P.S. the first time I ran this VI it worked properly with video and daq, and that was the only time!
Anyone knows what's happening?

Apache and PHP not working together

Hey all,
Ok, I reinstalled my server yesterday and followed the LAMP wiki to set up Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Now, I got Apache and MySql working great, but when I go to directory that has a .php file to open, my brower is asking me what application I want to open with the file.
I have set up this to handle the docuemtns:
DirectoryIndex index.php index.phtml index.html
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
and still no go.
Anyone got this to work?

Elements 11 Organizer and Editor not working together (Mac)

Is there a way to get the organizer that comes with Adobe Premiere Elements 11 (Mac) with Photoshop Elements 11 Editor (Mac)?
I previously downloaded Elements 11 Editor from Mac iTunes Store, this version does not come with Organizer. I then found I had a copy of organizer with Premiere Elements 11. After install I can use both products fine, but cannot use edior to edit my photos from the Organizer. The message "the feature you selected requires adobe photoshop elements" appears.
Does anybody know how this can be resolved (if it is possible?)

In that same window there should be a series of buttons where you choose to see PSE options, PRE options or both.
EDIT However, I doubt you can make this work. Hardly anybody would do it this way, so it's not surprising that PSE isn't set up for it, but FWIW, it's also a problem with things like certain versions of PS with particular versions of organizer.

AJAX and APEX not working together

I've got a page on which I created a normal checkbox list with some 10 rows.
On the same page I'm using a hierarchical drop down with ajax functionality to populate the child drop down depending on the father drop down value.
If I have AJAX update the child drop down because of a onChange-event of the father drop down, APEX won't save the value from the checkbox in the session state anymore, preventing a page process to insert the selection into database tables.
I've seen similar behaviour in some of Denes Kubicek's demo pages where after selecting some AJAX functionality, links won't work anymore etc. So I guess that this is a broader problem. Did anybody else encounter these problems as well? Is there a nice workaround for this?

JürgenI have multiple pages where AJAX is populating child select lists based on the onchange of a parent select list, and have never had a problem with any other item on the form because of it.
Does any other item push into session properly, besides the check boxes? Could you provide the URL to the demo page your talking about?

Imap and POP not working together properly

hi guys,
i was trying to search through past threads for this answer but to no avail. anyways, i had and imap and pop(gmail) account through apple mail. only recently, something just happened and every setting on all my apps and my doc and desktop were set to default. this means all the accounts that i had setup through mail also got erased. i reset everything but here are the problems i encounter:
a/ when i write a message with my gmail account, it does not send a copy to the sent folder. the imap account does. i checked the pref and the check marks are present where they need to be.
b/ when i send mail to the trash, any trash from the gmail is sent to a gmail subfolder under the trash icon...but i can't access this trash through my main trash icon.
c/ the other subfolder for my trash icon is one names "on my mac". how can i create a subfolder that only intakes stuff from my imap account. that way, the main trash icon accesses all trash and the the subfolders access their respective trash, depending on the help.
i realize its alot but if anyone can help me on any of these, it would be most appreciated.

Report the names of the files and folders present at the first level of the ~/Library/Mail/ folder in the Finder.
In order to post the exact file names and avoid typing mistakes, proceed as follows. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. With that folder open, if you’re looking at it in View > as List mode, first collapse any expanded folders so that the Finder only shows the files and folders at the first level of ~/Library/Mail/. Now, do Edit > Select All (⌘A), then Edit > Copy (⌘C), and paste it in your reply to this post.
Before actually posting that information, edit it so that the file/folder names do not reveal any details you should keep private, e.g. replace any real username with “username” to hide your real email address. Try to be consistent in how you disguise those details, though, as we may need to refer to them in subsequent posts.
Locate within ~/Library/Mail/ the account folder affected by the problem — its name begins with the account type (POP, IMAP, Mac), followed by the account username and the incoming mail server. Repeat the procedure to let me see the names of the files and folders it contains.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

I don’t understand your third question, but each mail account has its own Trash and there is also an On My Mac Trash where deleted messages are moved if they were previously stored in a custom “On My Mac” mailbox or in a locally stored mailbox associated with an IMAP account (i.e. a mailbox for which Store messages on the server has been turned OFF in Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors).
