Optimal mac system advise needed

i want to buy a mac and i wonder what is the optimal system to work with all CS3 or CS4 products.
the option that i have is :
Osx 10.5.5
proccessor 2.4 intel dual core
1 giga ram / 800mhz

Many people opt to get a Mac with minimum RAM, and get RAM upgrades from another source. If I remember correctly, Apple wanted something like $400 to put 4GB into my Macbook Pro in 07, and I got it for around $100 from Crucial. It may sound dumb to take out the RAM they put in, just to put in different RAM, but as far as I know, they won't sell a computer without RAM. Do your homework and you can save a little money.

Advise needed with New Mac OS releases.

I'm new to the Mac world, and having a lot of difficulty follow these posts to try and fix the many problems I have encountered since upgrading to SL. Is SL a typical release for Mac? It seems I should have waited for more fix releases, to be available before upgrading, but the conversion from my PC to my Macbook in July went so well and Leopard was operating flawlessly for my needs that I just went ahead and upgraded to SL.
What now, how long before Apple will fix all these problems. This is worse, at least, for me then when I upgraded from XP to Vista, which for a lot of PC users at the time was a disaster. I fell back to XP and and never returned to Vista. I eventualy bought my MacBook instead, and now I'm in a similar situation with no experience...
Because of my inexperience with the Mac system I'm afraid to try and fall back to Leopard and risk making my situation even worse. What if Time Machine fails to get back all my data
after Clean install of Leopard.
Any advise will be so much appreciated. With all the experience out there I'm trying to get a feeling of is it best to stay with SL a wait for the fixes, or chance going back to Leopard, until a stable better functioning version of SL is available. For a while there I thought all my computer problem were behind me as my Mac and leopard were working so reliably, and smoothly. I guess being an early adopter of any new OS is not a good thing unless there is some real need, which there was not in my case.HI,

It's difficult to help you if you don't tell us exactly what's happening.
Yes, Snow Leopard is an upgrade from Leopard. 10.5 to 10.6
One thing to keep in mind. If you download and install updates as they become available, they won't necessarily include the patches or fixes for problems you are encountering. The Software Update window will have the links available for the updates so you can read the documentation before installing.

HI, I need to jre 1.6 update 26 on my mac system to make some aaplication work. However latest available is jre 1.6 update 29. Could you suggest how I can get jre 1.6 update 26? I tried downloading older version on java. COuldn't find it on your site.

I inherited this app and signing the third party jars is how it was setup, I was wondering the same thing too, why was it necessary to sign the third party jars?
The applet runs in either JRE 1.6.0_13 or JRE 1.6.0_27 depending on the other Java apps the user uses. JRE 1.6.0_13 does not have the mixed code security (so it is like is disable), but JRE 1.6.0_27 does have the mixed code security and the applet will not launch with mixed code security enable, so we have to disable it. With all the hacking going on in the last two years, is important to improve security; so this is a must.

Everything you need to know was in Boot Camp Assistant, the drivers are on OS X DVD (while in Windows)

If you bother to read the instructions first would save you and us a lot of repeating.
You also want Microsoft Security Essentials Vista SP2+ (Windows 7 64-bit would be better and supported) and make sure you have about 15-20GB free space on Windows. All the updates will eat up 10GB of temp space, plus page and other items -

Backups are not just for when updating your system. Hard disks fail. Disasters happen. You should be backing up your data, or ideally your entire system, regularly. If you haven't got one already get a large external hard disk, Firewire or Thunderbolt capable, and download a copy of Carbon Copy Cloner to make a clone (so that you can boot from it if necessary) of your system. Run CCC at least monthly, and every time before updating software, and daily if you change data that you can't afford to lose daily. -
I purchased Creative Cloud through the Employee Purchase program. Had to reimage system. Need help reinstalling application. I have "redemption" code, but get error saying it has already been redeemed. Can you please advise how I go about getting my software reinstalled? If I was given the serial number when I redeemed, I don't have any record of it.

I have created a flyer in mac pages and need to get it to a printer to do a mass gloss printing. can someone advise how to do this.. should i and can i burn the document to a cd or dvd to give to the printer?
ThanksSome may need a CD while others may need a DVD or can use either medium. Why not call your printer, tell them what you've got and ask them what they need to do the job you want done? That way, you'll be working with what he/she needs to complete the job properly.

I would like to take excel classes / tutorials (intermediate to advanced) and practice on this computer. Could someone clarify, what software and operating system is needed? Can I just use numbers? Do I need to download Excel for Macs and use Camp Boot?
Numbers is a joke compared to Excel. If I were you I would find a class/tutorial first, find out what they use (and it won't be Numbers) and see if you need the Mac or Windows version of Excel. Note that Excel is not sold as a seperate product from the Microsoft Office suites.

Moving files from PC to Mac System
I want to move all my old PC files stored on my NAS to my new MAC system. How do I make those files readable to the MAC? Do I need to reformat the NAS?

I am curious.... have you already tried? or is this more of a theoretical question? I would be surprised if your macintosh was unable to see the files on the NAS. I would be less surprised if you needed some software to open the file. IF the files are word files and Excel files then you should be able to use programs from the iWork suite to open and view the files (or any of the free office suites like LibreOffice).
If you have pther kinds of files it would be helpful to know what they are.

Move a big file from a mac system to a windows 8 laptop usb usb flash drive
Hello i am using a 32 gb flash drive to copy a 10gb file from mac os x to my flash drive. Then i want to insert that flash drive to my windows 8 pc and store it there.
I cant use a network connection to transfer files because i dont have a ethernet cable or an network connection yet. So i must use a smart procedure for making my mac communicate with my pc at home. I cant use any other types of sharing methods except for a usb flash drive. So i know that the mac cannot detect NTFS filesystems and i cant use FAT32 even though mac recognizes it because FAT 32 is unable to store large files abotu 10GB of size. Now i have to use i think ext3 or ext4 or also HFS but when i successfully copy the file from mac to flash drive then insert it into my pc, the windows 8 OS will not detect the windows pc because i dont think windows is made to detect these filesystems by default.
So i have tried using, HFS explorer and ext2/ext3/ext4 volume manager and ext2exploer or GPARTED live cd's latest version's copy and paste functions but they seem to not work propely and there is a problem, i cannot see any flash drive in HFS explorer even though my drive is formatted as hfs.
So i need a program that can detect HFS or ext3/4 formatted flash drives and is able to copy a file from there straight to my windows 8 NTFS hard drive or a folder in it.
I have checked my firewall settings and defense settings. I am the administrator of my pc and i have even removed the windows password and the mac one but still i get lots of issus JUST to copy a file between a pc and a mac. Remmember that i have to copy files FROM a mac system running snow leopard to my windows 8 pc not the OTHER WAY were i have to copy from the windows to a mac.
Please tell me as much as possable about software out there and tell me software that costs money. I am able to buy any good software for doing this.

What option has the faster GB/s?Disk drive using native SATA bus interface will allow the drive to copy and always present and ready.
But once you have backup any hourly changes should be smaller and as long as the NAS and your switch should allow enough.
You should always have off line backups and don't rely on just one backup set or just TimeMachine.

Well, they recommend at least 2 - 3 times the size of your hard drive if you are using Time Machine because that keeps making backups until it runs out of space (and then deletes the oldest to make room for the newest).
However, if you prefer to have a bootable clone as a backup, you need about the same size as your hard drive since it is a perfect copy of your system (unless you want to partition and keep an older clone separately).
So, check to see how large your hard drive is and go from there. -
