Optimization Run without sucess deleting all old planning data

Hi all,
I am facing a problem regarding the optimizer run, I had an unsuccessful run that deleted all data that were already planned for the same selection.
Is this the standard behavior? If I use the flag "do not delete any orders" what would happen:
- The old plan would not be deleted with or without success of the new run
- The old plan will be replaced only if the new run succeed.
I want to find out if there is a way to avoid the old plan being deleted, I wan t to replace it only if the new run succeed.

Yes the Optimiser will delete all orders at the beginning of the new planning run (once all Master Data has been read in), so as has been said before you need to check the box "Do not delete orders" if you wish to keep the existing orders and only let the Optimiser plan the Deltas.

Please do not delete any files from the HDD without having a current backup.
I'm not sure what you mean when you say you've "deleted all old libraries." Can you explain that?
If all you are wanting to do is empty the iTunes library of all music, video playlists, etc. the easiest way is to quit iTunes and, in the Finder, go to ~/Music/iTunes and simply move the .itdb, .itl and .xml files to the trash. Launch iTunes again and the library will be empty.
You should be prompted to add content, so you can let iTunes scan the HDD if you like.

Are you attempting to update via iTunes on a computer or over the air on the device?

I have an older 80GB ipod classic that works but will not play any songs. I'm trying to delete all songs and data from the hard drive to see if that will fix the problem, however, it will not appear in my itunes. I've tried various ways to help it appear in my itunes but I do not want to delete my itunes because I have another ipod that has all those songs on it.
I was wondering if there was a way to restore my ipod back to the beginning without having to go through itunes. Thanks!

It might, but I wouldn't bet much on it. Either way, give it a shot.
Otherwise, if appears in Windows an external hard disk, try a low level reformat of the device's hard drive. See here for instructions on how to do this.

Yes, you need to restore. Here is how:
Plug your iPod into a computer with iTunes
Go into your iPod's section on the bar on the left hand side of iTunes
Click restore
Confirm the restore with the dialog boxes that pop up.
When it is done, if you have a recent backup of your iPod in iTunes, you can tell it to use it.

I had the same problem and i have done everything manually.
It's a shame that Apple doesn't put a "Reset to factory Settings" button or simply "Delete all data from iCloud.com". That way, it would be much simpler for everyone including myself.

Remove your email accounts from Mail. Quite Mail. Navigate to the /Home/Library/ folder. Locate the Mail folder and drag it to the Trash. Go to the Preferences folder and locate all preference files starting with "com.apple.mail" and drag them to the Trash. Go to the Containers folder and drag the two com.apple. mail related folders to the Trash.
Exposing the /Home/Library/ Folder
Pick one of the following methods:
A. This method will make the folder visible permanently. Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and paste the following at the command prompt:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
Press RETURN.
B. Click on the Desktop, press the OPTION (⌥) button, select Library from the Finder's Go menu.
C. Select Go To Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Paste the following in the path field:
~/Library
Press the Go button.
Do not re-open Mail lest it attempt to re-populate all that information from iCloud.

Time Machine will not delete your old backups unless it starts to run out of space on the hard drive......or.....your backups have become corrupted and Time Machine cannot repair them.
In the latter case, a message like this will appear on your screen:

You should be able to:
Use Edit > Preferences > Devices > Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically.
Connect the device to iTunes.
Backup the device to the new computer.
Transfer your iTunes purchases into a newly authorized library.
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer.
Restore the device from the backup.
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps. When you get it all fixed, make a backup!
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.

Optimizer run did not delete Deployment: Release for stk transf. req

I would like to know if the "Deployment: Release for stk transf. req" is also the result of the SNP optimizer run? If not, should this be expected to disappear in the system once the optimizer run is finished because this "Deployment: Release for stk transf. req" still exist in the system even after the optimizer run. Is it normal to have this in the system? If not, what are the factors why this still exist in the system? What are the process on how to delete this?

Hi Ann,
"Deployment: Release for stk transf. req(category EG/EF)" is a deployment order generated by a deployment run and has nothing to SNP optimizer run. SNP optimizer creates planned/purchaser requsitions but does not create/delete deployment orders.
You need to run deployment with a "delete" option to delete and make the system delete the existing deployments and recreate new ones.
Here is the flow.
Lets say you have 1 DC being sourced from 1Plant.
You have a demand of 100PCs.
1. When you run the SNP optimizer, the system looks at the transportation lane, costs etc. Since this is 1 DC 1 Plant, the system just creates a stock transfer order at the plant for 100 PCs.
2. Then you run SNP/PPDS planning run at the plant depending on the SNP planning horizon. Assuming the SNP planning horizon is 0 days (no PPDS run here), the system creates a planned order for the 100PCs (this can be more depending on the lot size).
3. Then you run deployment. The deployment looks at the plant and DC, there is a requirement of 100 PCs and a receipt of 100PCs at the plant.
The system deletes the stock transfer of 100 PCs at the plant and creates a deployment order of 100 PCs at the plant.
A deployment run replaces a stock transfer. But a SNP optimizer run simply creates a planned order at the plant but does not ever change the deployment order.
