Optimize XML Publisher in EBS R12

Dear All,
I hope this is the Appropriate Forum for posting with respect to above subject.
We have recently gone LIVE on the HRMS Suite R12.
Our Reports have been developed using Reports Developer with the Layout in XML Publisher.
There was a Report that we have run for Payroll for the Month of June which was working correctly.
Running the same report in July has for effect that it is taking a very long time to run and hangs.
Pls. advise if there are any optimizations that can be done to resolve this.

JDeveloper and XML Publisher with EBS ?

Hi All,
Can anyone clarify my doubts ?
I am new to Java and i have some experience in XMLP, but i saw in the User guide the Java API's, how to and where to run those API's.
And is JDeveloper used with XMLP to run Java API's ?, if yes can u pls explain how to start working on that and what is the relation between JDeveloper and XML Publisher in EBS.

XML Publisher ships with 2 XDK parsers a 9i version for backward compatibility and 10g version - you can switch at runtim using the properties. However, you have to make sure that the XML Publisher versions of the libraries are used and not the ones coming with i.e. jdeveloper version or oc4j version that you are using. You should use the version shipped with XML Publisher, because these versions are thoroughly tested with XML Publisher.

The version of the XML Parser shipped with Oracle OC4J is incompatible with XML Publisher. When you create an XML Publisher application for OC4J you need to configure the system to use the XML Publisher version of the XML Parser. This can be accomplished by setting an orion-web.xml configuration file with the following content:

Microsoft Word Add-on for XML Publisher for EBS 5.6

Can anyone tell me if patch 4561835 is the latest version for the Add-on to Microsoft Word for XML Publisher for EBS 5.6. Patch 4561835 is the version we use for 5.5.

Send an email to a mail box when generate a xml publisher report in R12

Dears,
I faced a tough problem about xml publisher, there is a user's requirement, they want to send an email to a common mail box after user run the xml publisher report in EBS R12 instance, and they can check the report in mail box, I have not met any reuqirement like this before, so anybody has the experience about this? and please kindly share it with me, thanks a lot.
It seems I need upload the rtf file or xml file to a directory and then system will send the mail automaticlly, but I do not know the detail information.

A issue with post-procesing phase of XML Publisher in eBS environment

I have to optimize some XML Bi Publiser reports in eBS 11i enviroment . I optimezed sql query from report but ... my reports take a long time to finish . My log file of the request looks like :

So , my query takes about 14 minutes to complete . and 1 hour in post-processing phase . Why takes so long time to make this phase and how I make to downing this time interval.
Please give me some advices.

XML Publisher(XDODTEXE) in EBS taking more time with the same SQL in TOAD

XML Publisher(XDODTEXE) in EBS taking more time with the same SQL in TOAD.
The sql has 5 union clauses.
It takes 20-30 minutes in TOAD compared to running through Concurrent Program in XML Publisher in EBS taking around 4-5 hours.
The Scalable Flag at report level is turned on with the JVM options set to -Xmx1024m -Xmx1024m in Concurrent Program definition.
Other configurations for Data Template like XSLT, Scalable, Optimization are turned on though didn't bounce the OPP Server for these to take effect as I am not sure whether it is needed.

Correct - this is for a standalone install of BI Publisher and not applicable to EBS.

Yes - you can use BI Publisher to create reports out of EBS base tables. If you are wanting to create reports out of any custom tables or remote custom databases, pl contact your Oracle salesperson for licensing issues.

BI Publisher Desktop is a development tool to design the layout of the reports. EBS includes seeded xml templates as well as design templates. When XML reports are run, these two templates are automatically used to produce the desired output.

Deleting the all collected optimizer stats for EBS R12

Hi DBAs,
How I can completely delete the optimizer statistics related to EBS R12 running on database 11.2.0.2. Purge old stats job seems only purging the old concurrent data, not the optimizer statistics.

Why don't you simply run "Gather Schema Statistics" concurrent program again?

NO, the license for that version of BI Publisher does NOT allow you to use it with external tools.... You would be better off getting a new licensed version for your APEX install...

For xml reports in ebs, if default font is not found, what does OPP do?

If the OPP is unable to locate a font file while merging an XML report in EBS R12.1.3 running on AIX (BI Version 5.6.3), what does it do? Is there a default set somewhere, and if so, can it be changed? Can it be changed only at the site level, or at the indvidual template level? Is there just one default or can you specify a different default for each font? Is there anyway to force the merge to error if the requested font is not found?

XML Publisher Report not generating the PDF output.

I am trying to develop a XML Publisher Report in R12 Vision Instance.
I have developed the rdf report and concurrent program with XML as output format. Ran the concurrent program and I got the XML output. Based on XML output I have created the rtf template. Using both the template and xml output I have created in Data Definition and Template in XML Publisher Administrator Responsibility. Now I am comming to the concurrent program and running the program, here instead of generating the PDF output it is generating again the XML output and concurrent program completing with warning status.
When I am trying to do the same in 11i Vision Instance, Concurrent Program completing with normal status and when trying to view the output it is saying "Unable to Publish output for the Processed Request".
Kindly please help me out in this issue.

Hi Mahesh,
Here the concurrent programs are not erroring out. It is completing with Warning status and when we click on View Output the output is coming in XML format instead of PDF, this is in R12 Vision Instance.
In 11i Vision Instance, concurrent program is completing with Normal Status but when we click on View Output it is saying "Unable to Publish output for specified request".

Thank you all for the reply. I was talking about Xml publisher with EBS.
As said...we can not delete the template but we can end date it and we can set the default template from the system administration responsibility.
One more question regarding this : When we migrate the xml publisher seed data for this report( which include template which was endated) to other instance ( let say Development to Test)....we are unable to see the template in the test instance. All i meant was can we migrate the template which is end dated to other instance with the data definition??

we have a requirement for master details report. for that we have parent query and child query .the data coming to parent query should be the parameter to child query
Exp-- Parent Query-- select empno from emp
Child Query --select * from dept where empno=:p_empno (p_empno =empno from Parent query )
For this requirement we are creating a data template (.XML file) . we are successfully to write for the parent query, but we fails when come to child query. Please help us how it can be wrote in data template . You can send any example related to this issue.

I am new to Java, and working on the XMLP 5.6.3 with EBS 11.5.9.
Where to write this Java code for bursting or the Java API's documented in XML Publisher user guide. JDevloper tool is required to do this, if yes pls let me know which version should i go for and how can use for XMLP to develop reports, i mean how to integrate the JDeveloper with XML Publisher and EBS.
