Opting Our of Verizon Cloud

As I was having major connection problems, Verizon offered to let me trade my phone in on another. The replacement was a slightly different model, an Android HD. The new phone doesn't provide a better connection, but that's not the problem I wanted to discuss here today
When I plug the new phone into my computer in order to retrieve a photo, rather than popping up iPhoto as my old one did, it pops up a thing for Verizon Cloud, and the only options it offers me are to "Subscribe" or "Download" an app, when all that I really want to be able to do is retrieve the photos. On my old phone, plugging it into my computer would boot iPhoto but iPhoto would not import photos from the phone as it would any other device. Instead, I would have to retrieve them through a Finder window, copy them to the computer, then import them to iPhoto.
The new phone doesn't even show up in Finder, so I have no way to even access the photos in my phone, other than through Verizon Cloud or whatever it is that the app is supposed to do.
On my MacBook, I chose the "Subscribe" option and let Verizon backup all of my photos, video, and documents to Verizon Cloud. It took more than twenty-four hours to do that, then when I tried to access it, I was told that my username and password didn't match. Four different times, I had Verizon send me a temporary password, yet I still couldn't get in.
I went into Verizon's live online support chat. They texted me another password that didn't work. Then I tried to remove the program since, if I couldn't access it anyhow, there was little point in having my stuff there, and I had trouble removing the program from my MacBook. I went back to Verizon's online support chat, and got some guy who called himself Ross, who was no help whatsoever. When I asked for a supervisor, he refused to refer me to a supervisor, saying he didn't have access to a  supervisor. Then he said he didn't work for Verizon, although there he was on Verizon's live online support chat. I'm sure that what he meant was that this was being outsourced, probably to some foreign country.
I was finally able to remove the thing from my computer, but I still can't access photos from my phone. I just tried it on my iMac and, again, the only options I have are to subscribe to Verizon Cloud or download the app, which apparently does the same thing. Verizon Cloud looked like it might be a good thing, but it would be silly of me to spend another twenty-four hours uploading stuff to Verizon Cloud only to refuse to let me access it.
I just want to be able to access the photos that are in my phone now. Verizon Cloud would be nice, but only if I could actually get to it after everything was uploaded there. Barring that, I want some way in which I can bypass all of that nonsense and simply be able to get to the photos that are there. Otherwise, the camera is of no use to me.
On my last phone, the one that was replaced, although iPhoto would pop up, it wouldn't import the photos. But I could manually click to the folder in the phone that stored the photos, copy them, and paste them to a folder on my computer, and access them that way. My computer doesn't seem to even know that the new phone is plugged in, other than to prompt me to subscribe to the damnable Verizon Cloud.

  • Verizon Cloud restore with Galaxy S4 not working

I've installed the Verizon Backup app on my old Android phone and successfully backed up my content to the Verizon "Cloud". Which I can see when I log into "My Verizon" account.  I then installed the VZ Backup app on my new Galaxy S4 phone and every time I enter "My Verizon" account credentials it repeatedly states that "Your Username or Password is invalid, Please try again."
I know my username and password are correct, since I can log into My Verizon account via the web without any problems.  I've uninstalled the backup app and re-installed it to no avail.  I've also deleted all account cache information locally on my S4, still doesn't work.
If I can't get the app to work on my new phone, is it possible to copy files from the cloud using a PC and using a USB cable to the phone and transfer my files back manually?
The "cloud" is a great concept but if you can't retrieve your files it's pretty much useless.
    Best regards
    Gary

        Happy Monday Geeeek,
I'm excited to see that you are using our new Verizon Cloud services. What better way to archive your information while on the go than with the cloud? You verified that you were able to access My Verizon on a computer, which is great. May I have you change your My Verizon password and then try accessing My Verizon on your new S4 with the new password. If this work then change your password back, if you wish, and try to login again. If this does not work then please share your findings so we can explore additional options.
    Thank you...

  • Verizon Cloud has encountered an error. code: 7500

Okay, I currently have a Droid and an iPad at my disposal while I am away from my office for a MONTH.  I have tried to get the Verizon Cloud apps to work on my phone and iPad.  Both get error 7500, with the iPad adding 422 : 7500.  What a totally useless program this is.  I see LOTS of people having the same issues.  No real answers to be found so far, without a PC or Mac.
    Nice.

        Hello Radjim
Here's the info on how to get your contacts backed up: When you open the Verizon Cloud app for the first time on your mobile device, you’ll go through a setup process. After that process is complete, your contacts will automatically sync at a regularly scheduled time. The Verizon Cloud app will provide confirmation that the contacts are being synced.
For step-by-step visual instructions on using Verizon Cloud with your device, go to our Simulator Index page and select your device from the list (if available). A simulator for your device will open. Look for the Verizon Cloud section in the simulator for assistance.
If you think your contacts aren’t being synced by Verizon Cloud, go to the Settings menu of the Verizon Cloud app and make sure that the Contacts box is checked under the “What to back up” option. By doing this, you’ve successfully activated contacts sync from Verizon Cloud.
If you upgrade or switch to a different device, your contacts will transfer over with all your other Verizon Cloud content.

  • Verizon Cloud App Fraud

Re: Poor Customer service and App Fraud
    Dear Concerned,
I have enjoyed years of excellent services from Verizon.  I am a business owner and Verizon has always dealt professionally.  Accordingly, I wish to preserve our business relationship by pointing out a disturbing event.   I installed Verizon Cloud on April 8 th, 2015.  I was not aware that the program could update at will, and on April 10th it consumed 9 G of data within a few hours without my consent.  I uninstalled the program.  I then contacted James Williams and Michael Braun in order to resolve this issue.  Despite 1 hour on the phone, neither could credit my account with more data and suggested I be happy with the plan I had.  At that point, without my consent, Mr. Williams disconnected my account.  I am a physician and over the 2 hours (6 pm to 8 pm) that I was without service, my patients were in jeapordy due to lack of access to their physician.
    Sincerely,
    Dr. Gerald Congdon

I am also concerned about the cancellation of your account without your knowledge, Dr. Congdon. This is not the type of behavior we want to be displayed by any of our associates. Although this is a community forum, I can't help but notice that you have this letter addressed to our Executive Relations team; was this letter sent to them already?

  • Completely uninstall Verizon Cloud Service

I installed Verizon Cloud Service on my Dell Latitude E6440 so I could transfer contacts from my old phone to my new phone. I did not like having Verizon Cloud Service on my computer, so I went to Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Programs and Features>Uninstall or change a program, and I uninstalled it. However, this did not completely uninstall it because whenever I turn on my computer, I receive an error message in a pop-up window immediately after my desktop loads that states: "Verizon Cloud Service.exe has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem." I then have two options, "1) Check online for a solution and close the program, 2) Close the program" Both options close the program and the window goes away. I can also click on "View problem details", which provides something called a "Problem signature" followed by a bunch jargon that is unintelligible to me. Does anyone know how to completely uninstall Verizon Cloud so I do not have to close this error window every time I start my computer?

Hi Erin, Thanks for your reply. I searched for Verizon Cloud and found a file called Verizon Cloud 14.3.50.ipa that is supposed to backup my iphone. I sent it to the recycle bin and restarted my computer. The same pop-up error message returned. I searched the entire program list, but can't find anything that is listed under Verizon or something similar that was installed around the time I initially installed Verizon Cloud.

    Completely uninstall Verizon Cloud Service
created by Verizon Wireless Customer Support in Verizon Cloud - View the full discussion                  Kinglet,
This certainly is a cause for concern. I am sure that it does get a bit frusterating with those pop ups coming everytime you turn your computer on. You shouldn't have to continue to receive those once the program has been deleted. If you search for the program in your computer, does it still show up? You most definitely did follow all of the steps to uninstall, the only thing I might suggest is to see if it's still showing up in your programs and try again. Once the uninstall is complete, maybe try restarting the computer and see if the error windows pop up. Thanks.

  • Verizon Cloud Access Restricted

This morning I tried to access my photos through Manage & Store Media so that I could download them to my own computer. Although all of my photos were listed, I couldn't see the images. I logged out, and logged back into my account thinking that maybe my browser needed to refresh. Now, anytime I try to access "Manage & Store Media", I get this error page that says "Verizon Cloud Access Restricted". It goes on to say:

I'm on my personal computer in my house. I don't understand how I continue to get this message, especially since it worked once this morning. Any thoughts on how to fix this? I've tried using Chrome and Firefox, and I've disconnected and reconnected to my wireless router.

Same problem, I called tech support and they are researching the  problem. Explained that the IP address was assigned a verizon employee  restriction that essentially restricts verizon employees with account  access privileges from viewing personal content that we store in the  cloud, ie: basically they can't view our files/pics. They have no idea  how this has happened but shows that the restriction happened sometime  around 11 am today. CALL THEM ASAP. 1-866-406-5154 and option 3

  • Verizon Cloud Won't Back Up Automatically

My wife and I just upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and really like the phones.  The only issue we have faced is with the Verizon Cloud.  It has settings whereby you can update automatically by the hour, by the day, or by the night.  However, ours only updates manually.  We have disabled the app on the phones and reenabled and rebooted.  The app still only updates manually.  We have also tried the auto update feature while on wifi only and while on wifi and mobile networks.  While this is not a signficant issue since manual backups work,we are nevertheless wondering if others have experienced this.

    Verizon Cloud will:
Arbitrarily delete contacts and move them to the trashcan which removes them from your phone
at times not be able to complete a backup so it continues to run using battery and data
mix up multiple contacts by changing the numbers around, putting address 1 from contact 1 as address 1 for contact 2
delete some of the numbers from a contact
freeze and not let you in
not let you view your pictures at times
cause you to have to do a factory data reset when some of the above happens
give you strange error messages such as account does not exist

  • Verizon Cloud - Invalid Account error

My Verizon Cloud refuses to work, it says "Account is in invalid state - Code 10007" There is no way to fix it, I called Tech Support, they couldn't find the problem. Has anyone had this problem with their phone?

  • Verizon Cloud App - Not Compatible with Device

Is there any way to get my contact and other data from the Verizon Cloud to my new phone without installing the Cloud App on my new phone (it lists it as not compatible in the Play Store)?

We can definitely help with that StinkyPete. We know how important it is to have the option to transfer your backup. Most of our smartphones have access to Verizon Cloud, is this an older model phone? What model phone? If it's not compatible in the Play Store, it sounds like it's not a Verizon Wireless phone. Please clarify if it is.
If it's not a Verizon Wireless phone, then you will not be able to use Verizon Cloud to sync your content.

  • Verizon Cloud storage

Is data stored / backed up "by device" in Verizon Cloud (we have more than one phone on our account).  I'm not really certain how it works and don't want to add another device unless it's data will not co-mingle with mine. thank you

    Thank you

  • Verizon Cloud storage is full

A couple of months ago, I transferred my backed up files to Verizon Cloud.  I must admit, cloud storage is something I really am a novice about...have always used actual storage on a drive.  Love the idea of using the cloud but can't quite say I understand the process, security risks, etc.  Anyway, my storage is full and I'm not at the point where I want to upgrade the amount of storage space I have.  I believe this being full is causing some minor problems when using my laptop (I have the Verizon Cloud app loaded on my laptop).  I've tried going in to manage folders, move pictures, etc to free up some open space by moving them to hard storage but just can't seem to figure out how to do so.
Not even sure if everything on the cloud is from my mobile devices or if I have the laptop set up to store on the cloud as well.  I'd like to get to the point where I have free space on my cloud without deleting and losing any of my pictures.
    Any thoughts?

Hello RobnDawn, making sure your information is secure and saved is our top priority! The information saved in the cloud will be from your mobile devices. • Verizon Cloud: How do you turn it off?

or better yet, how do you delete them? On smartphones.
I still need to sync mail, etc.
If Verizon is "listening to ... feedback" of your users (as the page for the app on Google Play claims) you'll issue a fix.

        Hey there anonymousinfinity,
The Verizon Cloud is a great application as it syncs multiple facets of your device to our Cloud storage.  If you ever need to activate an alternative device the Cloud will make it easier to restore information from your previous devices.
The application is one you download from the Google Play Store or Apples app store, depending on which phone you have so you can delete the application from your phone if you are not using it.
If you need help deleting the application, please provide the make and model of your device and I can provide steps.

  • Verizon Cloud and BUA

I have not been able to get either Back up assistant or cloud to back up my contacts. I am currently doing a Cloud back up getting all my photos, video and music and they are working great. However my contacts it is only showing one contact, and when i look at it online thru manage my contacts, it is a contact that I have never had.  It lists the name as H and then a bunch of werid symbols. No number or anything else just the name. I try to do a BUA sync from my settings, and it said it worked, however only backed up the same one contact that is not even in my list. Cloud back is showing the same one contact as well. I have force stopped the contact app, and cleared data. I have a Razr Maxx. Any ideas bc i am out of them.  All the support i see says that contacts just sync, and from my experience it does, however it is not working for me

bseballfrk35, I know the importance of having your phone content transferred successfully. Sorry to learn that you're having such difficulty. While we don't have access to your Google account infomation; you can definitely check your Gmail account for contacts by signing in at www.google.com/contacts.
Regarding your Verizon Cloud application; when are you seeing this error message appear? Is your phone connected via Wifi or though our mobile data? Please share details so we can help.
