Option 150 on DHCPv6??

Hi all,
Is there a option 150 when configuring DHCPv6 on a IPv6 network?
If not, is there an alternative?
Thanks

You can use your existing Microsoft or any other DHCP server that support custom options. An IOS router can also be used. You need option 150 configured in the DHCP server to support Cisco IP Phones with CM or CME.
ip dhcp pool Phones
network 10.1.1.0 /24
default-router 10.1.1.254
option 150 ip
lease

    Hello:
    I have read that the best option for configure the dhcp is use the dhcp custom option 150.
    I am not sure but I think that I must configure this in the dhcp server (a cisco router), like the address-pool or the dns server. Am I right?
    thanks

  • Wlan controller option 150

    Hi friend,
    Its posible enable option 150 (for phone) in wlan lan controller 5508, i want to create a DHCP POOL for my Wireless IP PHONE, but i can this option.
    other solución could be to use a DHCP externel ( like router), but the broadcast traffic dont pass from Wlan Controller to Router.
    Could you helpe me please.
    Marco.

    Marco,
         The DHCP server in the WLC is not fully functional.  You can only set the subnet, GW and DNS that the client uses.  You can't set any of the advanced features, like option 150 for the TFTP server.
    Now, under the interface for the phone subnet, what do you have set for the DHCP server?  if you set it to a router/switch/server the WLC will proxy the request to the device.  and the client will get the correct address.
    If you are using a secrity device, this won't work.  You'll need to disable DHCP proxy.
    From the GUI Controller > Advanced > DHCP, and uncheck the box.
    From the CLI config dhcp proxy disable
    Once this is done, make sure you have the ip helper-address under the L3 interface and point to the DHCP server.
    HTH,
    Steve

  • DHCP Option 150

    I'm wondering if anybody knows some way to configure the AEBS to distribute DHCP options - specifically, the TFTP server option 150. I've got a piece of development hardware that I have to flash over TFTP.
    It's actually a home-theater receiver that I've been developing the firmware for. I had been simply running it in my lab on a separate network served by DHCP Turbo in Windows, but now I've moved it to my living room, so I can actually use the thing. It's stable in the lab, so I want to get some real-world use on it. I don't have a separate network drop out there - just the AEBS network.
    I have a clunkier way to flash it, but I prefer using the netboot built into the receiver's CPU, which requires DHCP, and Option 150. There's no NV storage for the server address on board, without adding dedicated hardware.
    The real problem here is that I actually want the thing on the AEBS network, since I've added a lot of internet connectivity to the box The separate network would just be for flashing, and so I have to keep switching networks between flashing and debugging. This will be even more of a pain, now that I've moved the receiver out of the lab.
    I was hoping somebody knew about some super-secret backdoor configuration for the AEBS DHCP server. Not at all optimistic about this, but hope springs eternal.
    My fallback is to set up a separate wireless network out to the living room, and keep running out to manually switch networks. Yuck.
    -Rick

    Novell's dhcp console only goes to Option 133...
    If you have C-1, you might be able to add option 150 manually to the DHCP object. I've done something like that before for another option which never seemed to work well once you added it through the DHCP console...

  • SPA941 ignoring DHCP Option 66,150

    I've configured a HTTP provisioning server and have set up a Cisco ASA to send out the address via DHCP. Currently this setup works for the SPA504Gs which will get the address and provision correctly. The SPA941s however won't co-operate. They don't seem to get the settings from these options, however they do get the IP address via DHCP.
    Any help would be grateful thanks!

    With DHCP, you will need either option 150 or 66 configured. When the Phone boots and gets information from the DHCP Server the following order if followed to connect to the TFTP Server and download the configuration.
    1) Hardcoded TFTP Address
    2) DNS lookup of CiscoCM1
    3) Option 150
    4) DHCP si_addr field
    5) DHCP sname field
    6) Option 66

  • CallManager V9.1.1 - Load Server option in Device

    Hello,
    I need some help with the option "load server" in the configuration page of a device.
    I need a TFTP server on a remote site because the bandwith is low.
    I put this option in my device page (7942 and 7962 phone), but the phone continues to download his firmware to the callmanager.
    My TFTP server is fully functionnal, to test, I configured my DHCP server with the option 150 with, in first position my remote TFTP server, then my CallManager. (option 150 ip IP_TFTP_SERVER IP_CUCM)
    My phones are able to download their firmware but they can't register to the callManager. So I think the phone see the first TFTP server then he doesn't try to reach the second (callmanager).
    Can someone help me. I didn't have any ideas yet.
    Thanks

    T-Mobile  did the same on their custom firmware for N97  and now I find the same on N8
    no server  profile   in the end on my N97 i got so fed up i  changed the product code and got rid off all the T-Mobile nonsense blote-wear and it got me the Server profile.
    I Don't want to hack product code on my N8    in Nokia's online FAQ's is says how to set the server profile but it doesn't seem to work for N8.
    I wish Nokia would stop allowing networks to have custom versions. (let them brand by a theme only)
    Anyone know the Server Profile settings  for N8   ?

    What is the reason that the device does not accept dhcp option correctly?

    It is possible that SPA922 is using other option than SPA303. So at the first, you must found what option is triggering
    src/dict_tftp.c: dictParseServerScp: 1501 script too short
    error. Use option 150 but not option 66 and vice versa. It should reveal what option will cause the error.
    Also, you should catch the DHCP server's response packet. It's nice to know Cisco 881's configuration, but the bug may be in Cisco 881 itself. If it's response is malformed (in option used by SPA922 but ignored by SPA303, or SPA303 may be more resistent to bug than SPA922) then it's waste of time to play with SPA922's configuration.

  • RV220W - DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation - Edit the configuration file?

    I am trying to configure this router to obtain an IPv6 address from my ISP who offers a dual stack IPv4/IPv6 DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation service.
    I did a WAN packet capture to see the type of DHCPv6 packets the router sends to the ISP in order to obtain an IPv6 address and I saw that the router is sending DHCPv6 solicitation packets of type IA_NA i.e. for Identity Association for Non-temporary Address. However, most ISPs that offer a dual stack IP4/IPv6 service, they use DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation in which case the router is expected to send DHCPv6 solicitation packets of type IA_PD i.e. for Identity Association for Prefix Delegation.
    I then downloaded its configuration file and saw the following:
    dhcpv6c = {}
    dhcpv6c[1] = {}
    dhcpv6c[1]["renewTime"] = "3600"
    dhcpv6c[1]["statelessMode"] = "1"
    dhcpv6c[1]["prefixDelegation"] = "0"
    dhcpv6c[1]["preferredAddress"] = ""
    dhcpv6c[1]["LogicalIfName"] = "WAN1"
    dhcpv6c[1]["requestPreferredAddress"] = "0"
    dhcpv6c[1]["requestDNSSearchList"] = "0"
    dhcpv6c[1]["requestPreferredPrefix"] = "0"
    dhcpv6c[1]["preferredAddressPrefixLength"] = "0"
    dhcpv6c[1]["requestDNS"] = "1"
    dhcpv6c[1]["sendRapidCommit"] = "0"
    dhcpv6c[1]["isEnabled"] = "1"
    dhcpv6c[1]["preferredPrefix"] = ""
    dhcpv6c[1]["_ROWID_"] = "1"
    dhcpv6c[1]["preferredPrefixPrefixLength"] = "0"
    So, the option for the DHCPv6 client to perform a prefixDelegation request is disabled. Does that mean that if I set this flag to "1" it is going to work? Well, I edited the configuration file and changed this flag but the router refuses to load it! It complains about the file being changed. How does it know that? Is it computing some type of checksum? Does anyone know how can I manually edit this flag and update the router's configuration?

    I can't help you because our ISP doesn't support native ipv6.  I suggest you call Cisco Small Business technical support.  All you need is your serial number and your Cisco username to get support.  Tori is awesome to work with.

    Hello,
    I'm facing exactly the same problem, that is:
    a Cisco SIP Phone 9971 won't register on CME 8.6 running on a 2811
    I have read all the postings to this Forum, but I have not been able to solve it.
    In my case the commands voice register dn  and  voice register pool are OK.
    So frankly, I have no idea what I could be missing.
    I'm pasting the Router's config.
    I hope somebody is able to point me in the right direction.
    Here is the config.  Thank you!

  • AnyConnect to ASA 5505 ver 8.4 unable to ping/access Inside network

    My AnyConnect VPN connect to the ASA, however I cannot access my inside network hosts (tried Split Tunnel and it didn't work either). I plan to use a Split Tunnel configuration but I thought I would get this working before I implemented that configuration. My inside hosts are on a 10.0.1.0/24 network and 10.1.0.0/16 networks. My AnyConnect hosts are using 192.168.60.0/24 addresses.
    I have seen other people that appeared to have similar posts but none of those solutions have worked for me.  I have also tried several NAT and ACL configurations to allow traffic form my Inside network to the ANYConnect hosts and back, but apparently I did it incorrectly.  I undestand that this ver 8.4 is supposed to be easier to perform NAT and such, but I now in the router IOS it was much simpler.
    My configuration is included below.
    Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    Hi,
    Yes, I have saved the config and did a write erase and reloaded the config, no difference. I rebuilt it once a couple of weeks ago, but that was before I had gotten this far with your assistance.  I'll include my ASA and switches configs after this. Here is a little background (took it form the Firewall section issue just because it gives a little insight for the network). I have 2 3560s, one as a L3 switch the other L2 with an etherchannel between them (one of the cables was bad so I am waiting on the replacement to have 2 - Gigabit channels between the switches).
    I think our issue with the VPN not getting to the Inside is posibly related to my DMZ issue not getting to the internet.
    I am using 2 VLANs on my switch for Guests - one is wired and the other is wireless. I am trying to keep them separate because the wireless are any guest that might be at our restaurant that is getting on WiFi. The wired is for our Private Dining Rooms that vendors may need access and I don't want the wireless being able to see the wired network in that situation.
    I have ports on my 3560s that are assigned to VLAN 20 (Guest Wired) and VLAN 22 (Guest Wireless). I am not routing those addresses within the 3560s (one 3560 is setup as a L3 switch). Those VLANs are being L2 switched to the ASA via the trunk to save ports (I tried separating them and used 2 ports on the ASA and it still didn't work). The ASA is providing DCHP for those VLANs and the routing for the DMZ VLANs. I can ping each of the gateways (which are the VLANs on the ASA from devices on the 3560s - 172.26.20.1 and 172.26.22.1. I have those in my DMZ off the ASA so it can control and route the data.
    The 3560 is routing for my Corp VLANs. So far I have tested the Wired VLAN 10 (10.1.10.0/24) and it is working and gets to the Internet.  I have a default route (0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0) from the L3 switch to e0/1 on the ASA and e0/1 is an Inside interface.
    E0/0 on the ASA is my Outside interface and gets it IP from the upstream router (will be an AT&T router/modem when I move it to the building).
    So for a simple diagram:
    PC (172.26.20.21/24) -----3560 (L2) ------Trunk----(VLAN 20 - DMZ/ VLAN 22 - DMZ2)---- ASA -----Outside ------- Internet (via router/modem)
    I will be back at this tomorrow morning - I've been up since 4pm yesterday and it is almost 3pm.
    Thank you for all of your assistance.
    Jerry

    I have a C2911 for CME on G0/1 - using it only for that purpose at this time.
    L2 3560 Config it connects to the ASA as a trunk on e0/5 of the ASA and port f0/3 of the switch - I am using L2 switching for the DMZ networks from the switches to the ASA and allowing the ASA to provide the DHCP and routing out of the network. DMZ networks: 172.26.20.0/24 and 172.26.22.0/24.

  • How to change CUE ip address?

    Hi,
    We moved to a new location and using comcast as ISP. I was setting up the phone system today and met a few problems.
    1. First of all, all the phones are connected and working(total of 4), but I can only see 3 of them showing up in the CCA. Whats happening here?
    2. I wanted to change the user name which appears on the phone using the CCA, CCA told me that the settings were successfully sent to UC520, I restarted the phone and uc520, but the names on the phones remain unchanged?
    3. I forgot the password of the voicemail for one of the phone, and wanted to changed in the CUE. so I went to 10.1.10.1,but some comcast login page showed up instead of CUE. so I want to know how to change the IP address of CUE? I don`t know the CLI commands so please teach me if it can only be done with CLI. I have only used CCA in the past. Could this be the reason why for problem 1 and 2? I`m feeling wierd because all the phones can be used to call in/out.
    my data vlan is 192.168.0.0 and voice vlan is 192.168.2.0 let me know if you need any other info.
    need help urgently as I want to resolve this problem asap.
    Thanks in advance.

    how to change local ip address?Via an operating system command.
    It's not the sort of thing an application should be doing at all. IP addresses these days are assigned via DHCP. Why would you want to change it from within an application? It would probably disconnect all sockets for all running applications, invalidate the login, all kinds of bad effects.
    What is the actual requirement?

  • Trouble with my T1's and E1's in the lab - please help.... :-)

    I'm working through my CCIE Voice/Collaboration training materials and am just about finished with the physical construction of the lab.  At this time I'm just going to install a new T1 card into my BR1 router and I'm trying to get my T1 to HQ (HQ router) and my E1 to BR2 (Branch2 router) up and running.  I am enclosing the "show run", "show isdn status" and "show e1/t1 controller" outputs.  I am using a 2801 for my HQ router, a 2851 for my PSTN/IP-WAN router, and a 2811 for my BR2 router.
    I am using a T1 cable RJ-48C/RJ-48C.  I'm embarassed to say it - but I don't have a cable tester at the time.  I lended my backup out to a friend and my primary one is not working.  I'm also not 100% sure that I'm using the correct cable.  I have VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 cards in my routers and I have a 2851 (PSTN router) setup to give connectivity via the T1's to HQ and BR1 and E1 connectivity to BR2.  I have taken the liberty of attaching my configs, as mentioned I don't think I have cable issues because this is the case with all my cables.
    Main issue, in the "show isdn stat" the layer 1 status is "deactivated" and when I do a shut/no shut the status goes to "shutdown" and doesn't come back up despite my efforts to enable the interface.  The only way to fix it is to reboot the router.  I've got to be missing something - I just want to get my T1's and E1 up for my CCIE Lab.  I'm building my lab based on the CCIE Voice specification and have the ability to get it modified eventually to fit the CCIE Collaboration lab.
    ***PLEASE go easy on me - I'm sure there is a fundamental configuration item or concept I'm not thinking about so I'm preparing to look like a fool - but that's okay....it's part of learning.  :-)  ***
    Any help would be so much appreciated.  All configs are pasted below.......

    I have went ahead and re-enabled the voice-ports just because I left that out of my original output.  See below.....
    Do you think I ordered 3 factory made T1 cables from BlackBox and ALL of them came back to me bad?  Or perhaps they might not have made them as cross over cables......hmm...any other suggestions?

  • CUCM 8.6.2 Cant view call history on certain Phones

    Have 3 specific user's who cannot view any call history wha so ever, Cant find much in relation to this issue via the web, Thy are the only one's experiencing the issue on the system. I have reset the phone to no avail. also rebuilt the phone from scratch in CM. having no luck figuring it out.
    any help or idea I can try

    Hi Jason,
    The phone stays in upgrading....
    We need to fix this first.
    Fix the issues related to DHCP & TFTP on the switch to which the phone is connected so that the phone can get the config from the DHCP server.
    Sample DHCP config on switch:
    ip dhcp pool dhcpconf
    network A.S.D.W 255.255.255.0
    default-router A.S.D.1
    option 150 ip A.S.D.X ----->TFTP server of CUCM
    lease infinite
    ip address dhcp
    Interface config:
    interface FastEthernet0/1
    switchport voice vlan 1
    spanning-tree portfast
    Check the routing issues between phone and CUCM TFTP server.
    Upgrade the phone to the latest firmware and check if you have any issues.
    Note: Do not disconnect the phone while the firmware is upgrading.
    Regards,
    Tirtha

  • Jabber for IPhone/IPad and Anyconnect VPN

    I have just setup Jabber for iPhone and iPad in a CUCM 8.6/Presence 8.6 enviornment.  Works great when on my wireless network at work.
    The problem I have is that it doesn't work with Anyconnect VPN.  Running 8.4 code and can access the CUPS website from the iPhone/iPad when on vpn.  It just will not connect the Jabber clients.  I have attached the logs for review.
    There is only one difference in our wireless connectivity and VPN connectivity that I can think of at this point.  Could it be my DHCP configuration not offering option 150 for tftp on the VPN?  I am using a local pool on the ASA but it doesn't offer option 150 for tftp.

    It's been a while so I don't recall exactly what I did.  That said: I want to say that I connected it via the wireless network to let it pull down it's configuration and after it pulled down the initial configuration I was good to go on VPN.
