Option Show Source/Target Name "on" in the logic model

In the data modeler 2.0.0 was the option Show Source/Target Name “on”. Where do I find it in data modeler 3.0.0 ?

Hi,
Right click on Logical diagram and from context menu select Show->Labels

  • Data Modeler - Source/Target Name

I have imported a logical model from Oracle Designer and need to show the "source/target" names. I could do this easily in version 2 of the Data Modeler through the Logical Model , "Show Source/Target Name" option of the Diagram pane (from Tools | General Options). The documentation for version 3 indicates that I should still be able to do the same thing (except Tools | Preferences), but I lack the "Show Source/Target Name" option in my version 3.0.0.665 of the Data Modeler. Is this a bug, or am I looking in the wrong place in this new version?

    Hi,
Please see the Data Modeler Forum message option Show Source/Target Name “on” in the logic model for an answer to this question.

  • DM 3.0 source/target names

how did you manage to lose
the "Show Source/Target Name" check box
    from tools\general options (now preferences)\diagram\logical model ?!!!

We found that many users did not want to use the preferences, or did not find the freferences to control this and so it has been moved (not lost) to the diagrams themselves. In the white space on your diagram select Show > Labels.

16bit? Pixels extending beyond the canvas? (from a crop with delete unused pixels turn off).  Have you previously been saving PSD files?
IME you sometimes have to tell Photoshop that the first save of a session is JPG, and it remembers from there on.  The way to 'tell' Photoshop that JPG, or PDF, or PNG etc are now your preferred format is to Ctrl (Cmd) click on that format in the Save As drop down list.  So long as the file does not have parameters that your chosen format does not support, then this should work for you.
[EDIT]  Just noticed that you did include 'Crop' in the subject line.  Do you have 'Delete cropped pixels' checked?

  • ICHAT shows an IM name that is the sender that is not the name on the account. How do I change the name of the sender? Make sense?

On my IChat accountn when I send a message to someone it shows a name, for example.
    John Doe (IM):
    Hello
John doe is not my name. Mine for the sake of discussion will be
    Jim Nabors
Why is John Doe showing up on my sent ICHAT texts when its not associated with my account?

    Hi,
Can I check I have Understood this correctly ?
You are saying if You send the IM the Buddy sees the name "John Doe" instead of "Jim Nabors" ?
If this is an AIM login name there can be several reasons for this.
    1) AIM allow Display names to be used.
Most people will remember setting this and tend to add Capitals and Spaces to their "Name"
If you Visit AIM Settings you can check your Display Name (if there is one)
Mine look like this when I have signed in
I have it set to display iChat Guru
    2) iChat takes the naes in the Buddy List you have and combines that with the Address Book entries (an entry has to list a person's Screen Name)
That causes the iChat Buddy List to display their "Real Name" (or whatever you added as their "First Name, Last Name")
It could be that your Buddy calls you "John Doe" in their Address Book.
The only way you can be sure is to have them take a Screen Shot  of the chat and send it to you.
(best to use some phrase or pic so you are certain is going to be you only)
Example Bonjour Chat with me at both ends.
I have the View Menu > Messages set to to display Names and Buddy Pics  so the left hand "Buddy" shows my name as in the Address Book on the other computer (even though I use the same pic)
This leads on to what iChat shows you at your end.
In the header it can show your your "Handle" (Screen Name) or your Real Name as it appears in the address Book at the My Card entry.
The Address Book tends to have the name in the My Card of the person that created the Mac User Account.
This can mean that if your are logged on to the Mac as someone else that this will display at your End.
Only your Screen Name is sent to the other end.

  • Imported source file name changed for the external table

    Hi,
I have external table from flat file. Now the source file name is changed. I can change the file location to point to the new file name, but I can't update the source for the flat file property(as seen under flat file properties, structure tab. the column "Sampled From"). Is there way to have this update without having to import the file using the new file name again?

In the Files section in the object navigator find the flat file you want to change the source of.
Double click on the actual file, and on the General tab change the old file name to the new one.
The fact that it has been sampled from a different file should not 'disturb' the working of the external table.
However, if the structure of the new file is different I'd suggest to resample.
    Good luck, Patrick

  • Properties are not shown in the Logical model

Sometimes when I right click on some entity in a logical model and select Properties - nothing happens and no properties dialog appears. The normal behavior restores after modeler is restarted. Is it a known bug?

    Hi
Here is what I did -
    1. Updated an existing entity in relational model and moved it, it worked fine to open the property dialogue box even after move.
    2. I created a new entity (table) and then it stopped working and did not display the property dialogue box for this newly created entity

  • Define fields names in relation at logical model

    Hi all,
    Image
On a Logical Model, I have 2 entitys, Events and Menu, and has 2 relations.
When Engineer to Relational, creates 2 new fields in my Events Table, Menu_ID, Menu_ID1. There are some way, in the relation at logical model, to specify the names of the final fields, to avoid to change it later at relational model?

  • Show source folder name within Aperture

Is it possible, within Aperture, to see where the actual image is stored on my hard drive? ie, the path and folder structure?
I would think it would be an option when the bottom viewer is set up to show the columns of text (rather than images)...
Or an option within File Info.
    But I'm not seeing it.
    Thanks

File>Manage Referenced Images... will show the file paths, but you can't see it via normal metadata.

  • Data Modeler / Logical Model / How to display the "relationship name" ?

    Hi,
Oracle SQL Developper Data Modeler 2.0.0 (build 584):
I would like to know if there is a way to display the "relationship name" in the diagram for the logical model in the GUI interface and/or to print it?
I checked in the different setup tool options and I did not find it...
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Robin Ouellet

    Hi Robin,
you cannot "show" relationship name on logical diagram - you can show "name on source" and "name on target" properties. You can set them at cardinality page of relationship dialog, And make them visible in "Tools>General options>Diagram>Logical model" settings - it's "Show Source/Target Name" option.
For printing - you can use "File>Print Diagram" to print in different format. Also "File>Print" allow diagram to be printed to printer, plotter or PDF printer if you have one installed.

  • Problem with naming of FK attribute when generating the relational model

I'm usign Data Modeler 4.0 and I have a problem when I engineer from Logical model to Relational model.
I have a table SUBJECTS with an unique identifier called ID (pk) and a table BOOKS related to SUBJECTS with a relation named FK_SUBJECT_BOOK and FK attribute named ID_SUBJECT.
When I engineer to Relational Model, it transforms the original FK attribute ID_SUBJECT of the Logical model into an attribute called SUBJECTS_ID in the Relational model.
How can I mantain the name defined in the Logical model also in the Relational model, without using abbrevation and without applying name translation when generating the relational model?
    Thank you

I have already tried it. The problem is that if I check the option you mention, then it uses the pk as it is in the related table creating attributes like ID1, ID2, ID3 and so on for all the relations you have.

  • Getting the Source File name Info into Target Message

    Hi all,
I want to get the Source file name Info into Target message of one of the fields.
    i followed Michal BLOG /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14
    Requirement :
    1) I am able to get the Target file name as same as the source file name when i check the ASMA in Sender & Receiver Adapter , with out any UDF...............this thing is OK
    2) I took One field extra in the target structure Like "FileName" & I mapped it Like
                              Constant(" " )--UDF-----FileName
I Checked the Option ASMA in Both Sender & Receiver Adapters
Here iam getting the Target File name as same as Source file name + Source File name Info in the Target Field " FileName".
I Dont want to get the Target File name as same as Source file name. I want like Out.xml as Target file name.
If i de-select the Option ASMA in Adapters means it is showing " null" value in the target field "FileName".
Please Provide the Solution for this

  • How to get source table name according to target table

    hi all
    another question:
once a map was created and deployed, the corresponding information was stored in the repository and rtr repository. My question is how to find the source table name according to the target table, and in which table these records are recorded.
    somebody help me plz!!
    thanks a lot!

This is a query that will get you the operators in a mapping. To get source and targets you will need some additional information but this should get you started:
    set pages 999
    col PROJECT format a20
    col MODULE format a20
    col MAPPING format a25
    col OPERATOR format a20
    col OP_TYPE format a15
    select mod.project_name PROJECT
    , map.information_system_name MODULE
    , map.map_name MAPPING
    , cmp.map_component_name OPERATOR
    , cmp.operator_type OP_TYPE
    from all_iv_xform_maps map
    , all_iv_modules mod
    , all_iv_xform_map_components cmp
    where mod.information_system_id = map.information_system_id
    and map.map_id = cmp.map_id
    and mod.project_name = '&Project'
    order by 1,2,3

  • "Conversion of Source System names after the transport" : O

    Experts:
    Environment : BI 7.0 and SP 12
<b>Tranports related to transformation rules are failing with inactive status...</b>
Further investigation on this, I have noticed that in our QA system, where "Conversion of Source System names after the transport" : O screen, we have columns
Original Source System, Target Source System, 7.0, Description(I guess, since no name is found)
Everything looks fine to me with reference to actual techinical names of source/target system...
My question there is a check box on column "7.0", which is UNCHECKED. Is this correct?
My understanding is that, this check box needs to be CHECKED, since this is related " Only Valid for RSDS, TRFN and DTPA Objects ". Is this correct?
If yes, Can I check this box in QA system, save and retransport my requests. If so, what happens to standard BW objects i.e., transfer ruels, update rules etc...
OR do i need to create another entry with same source/target system and check the 7.0 box.
OR do i need to create 3 entries with same source/target system and check 7.0 box for each entry i.e., RSDS, TRFN, DTPA.
Finally, please advise the exact steps that need to be taken here...pros and cons
Your inputs will be of great help....
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Yes you need to check the checkbox as it is related to Data sources and transformation and DTPs. you can mark the check box if  your client is modifiable, if not you need to transport the setting from DEV. Go to
SPRO > Business Intelligence>Transport Settings--> Change Source system name after transport.
you also need to maintain the Source system IDs .
    Hope it helps.
