Option + tab not working.

Hi,
when I press option + tab no input event is generated.
This is very weird, since a few updates ago it worked AFAICR.
Nevertheless, shift + option + tab still works normally.
Both keyboard viewer and xev do not catch any event when option + tab are pressed.
Any ideas?

Well I tried to find a key logger. Usually both xev and/or Keyboard viewer do the trick.
Not in this case apparently.
An interesting detail is that even if I press option on my keyboard and then try to press (with the mouse) the tab key on the keyboard viewer, nothing happens.
It's as if that key gets locked as soon as I press option.
Moreover, if I press tab and then option I do get the event, but not the other way around.
Hummm, how about that apple engineers?

Tools option tabs not working

For the past 2weeks when I want a link to open in another tab, it takes me directly to that new tab. And I don't have it under that option. Its just suppose to open link in the new tab, not take me directly there, so I can still stay on the current page I am on. I have clicked many times under the "tools" => "options" -> make sure tab of "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" is unchecked. But it keeps taking me to the new tab immediately, when I never had or want this option. Help...

That didn't work for me. To be honest I'm getting a bit hacked off searching for a solution to regain basic functionality. Very close to going back to Internet Explorer. Didn't think I'd ever say that.

Home Page setting option is not working. Home Page always reverts back to Modzilla Firefox Start Page.

Home Page setting option is not working after saving a new or different home page on Firefox 19.0. When opening a new page (not tab) it always reverts back to the default "Modzilla Firefox Start Page" no matter what.

That was it! There was a duplicate preference file in the profile folder. Followed the instructions under "Locked Preferences File" to

Once I deleted it I was able to then save my preferred home page.

Looks like updates via the App. store update option is not working again. Comments?

There are a number of other threads from people reporting a problem with a blank Updates tab in the App Store app - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
Some posts are suggesting that you if you go into the Purchased tab in the App Store app you might be able to update the apps from there, though you will need to scroll through the list to find those with updates and individually update them.

Urgent : SSRS reports zoom in option is not working in IE9 compatability view

Hi,
We have SSRS reports which when viewed in IE 9 compatability view, zoom in option is not working properly.
SSRS report have 4 charts inside a rectangle. when zoom in from 100% to 50% only rectangle shrinkes not the charts.
Please let me know why it is happening and solutions if any?

Problem statement:
To work OTHER reports compatibility mode in IE should be ON
To work SSRS reports (mainly zoom) compatibility mode in IE should be OFF
OTHER report is being used by customer and they will start using SSRS reports as well. While using both OTHER reports and SSRS reports customer do not prefer to keep switching between compatibility modes.
“Browser Mode: IE9”
Steps to reproduce Zoom issue for SSRS report with Compatibility mode is given below:
Step-1: Select Tools menu -> Compatibility View Settings
Below setting is suggested for OTHER users so tick as shown below,
Step-2: On decision center select link and Open the report home page and click the link to open the report.
Step-3: On SSRS reports Change Zoom level from 100% to say 50%. Here all charts are not moved with container frame.
If “Browser Mode: IE8” is set with following steps then this issue does not happen.
Press F12 and from and select IE8 as shown below.
Press F12 again so this will set the mode and then try Zoom option it works fine. However this setting temporary and will remain for the session only.
If compatibility mode is OFF then also this does not happen. Please see image below.

Can you further elaborate on your concern? What exactly do you mean by "download option is not working"? Can you select the Download option? If not, can you describe it? Is it grey out? Any error message? Does this happen to all of your apps? BTW, how are you accessing the Nokia Store? Is it via the Nokia Store app or through your phone browser? If you're using the app, try to access it via phone browser to check if the same issue will occur.
If you are using the app, make sure that it is up to date. You can update it by going to store.nokia.mobi through your phone browser. You can also try to restart the phone to refresh it. Hope this helps.

You mean an image such as a scanned document?
If that is the case, the file doesn't contain any text for Reader Out Loud to read. In order to fix that, you would need an application such as Adobe Acrobat that does Optical Character Recognition to convert the images to actual text.
You can also try to export the file as a Word document or something else using ExportPDF which I believe offers OCR and is cheaper than Acrobat.

IE 11 - Open in new Tab Not Working

When I click on a link that should open in a new tab (or right-click and select Open in new Tab), IE11 Opens a new tab but the screen is blank, the URL is about:blank and the tab title is 'Blank Page'.
Windows 8.1 x64
Internet Explorer 11 (Desktop)
The 'Metro' version of IE 11 still works fine, it's just the Desktop version which is broken.
I've tried all the fixes listed in the similar thread, but none have helped.

Thanks, I ran a Command Prompt (Admin) and ran the following scripts:
ie8-rereg.32on64.cmd
ie8-rereg.64on64.cmd
Both seemed to execute correctly, but haven't made a difference.
Unfortunately they have never been a complete repair and now, due to security/obscurity have been made even less effective. There was an example in here a while ago in which the poster helped me see that exploiting the original manifests might have
been a better tack for a repair. IIRC they uncovered some registry corruption which seemed related to mshtmled.dll but which was not repaired by registering that module and was damage which was only hinted at by looking at the manifest.
The poster's repair was found by comparing registries from otherwise identical systems...

Interestingly, I came across another oddity which might indicate the behaviour is some sort of change to the IE security settings. On a site I frequent http://www.makegamessa.com/ none of the links work.
They've all previously worked and they still work in other browsers, just not my IE. If you click a link it is supposed to open the page in the current window (i.e. not opening a new tab), but nothing happens. However, if I have the F12 developer tools open,
then the links all work as expected OR if I add the site to Trusted Sites the links also work.
That sounds like Active Scripting is inhibited. Scripting would be disabled in a Restricted security zone or in an Internet zone which was set to High level. Scripting would be enabled in a Trusted security zone. Scripting would be required
in order to use IE11 Developer Tools since that is its implementation. It hadn't occurred to me that that might provide an override for Scripting which had been otherwise inhibited.
