Option to create presets/preset folders grayed out?

Just got a new laptop so I've installed LR3 on it. I'm trying to install my presets in LR, but the options to create a new presets folder and import presets are grayed out. Not sure why it'd be doing that? Am I just missing something obvious? I'm in the develop module and I've reinstalled several times to make sure it wasn't a glitch, but it's not. Little help? Thanks!

Thanks! I just figured that out. Doesn't really make sense to me why you'd need an catalog open with "found" images to install presets...oh well...whatever. Thanks again.

Mail option "Send Windows-Friendly Attachments" is grayed-out

I use Mail 4.2 under OS 10.6.2.
The option "Send Windows-Friendrly Attachments" is grayed-out.
Is there a reason for that?
Could that mean that it in non functional?

I understand what you mean and that was the explanation that I gave myself, but without really knowing if I was right. Your explanation seems logical.
I was raising this point, because I have a problem sending attached ".jpg" photos to a friend in Europe (France) who uses Outlook under Windows Vista. He keeps telling me that I am at the origin of the problem, this problem being that he receives the attachment within the core of the text and that the file is in ".bmp" rather than ".jpg"!
Otherwise, I am not having the problem with others Windows users, who also use Outlook (under XP, Vista, or 7). They all receive the ".jpg" file as such and can open it by clicking twice on it, and also save it as such.
But I'm trying to see if I do something wrong before I try to convince this friend that the problem may be on his side. In which case, I also would like to help him in finding out what the problem is (but I'm not expert of the "dark side").

Photos: "Selected folders" grayed out.

I've been having issues syncing photos to my ipad mini. 1. the "Selected folders" option is grayed out so I can't choose that. 2. When I sync anything it replaces the album I syncing previously. Basically, I can't put any albums on by syncing in iTunes. Any ideas?

HT1329 Create New Version selection grayed out, what is wrong?

I have adjusted the preferences to MP3 but when I select a specific song to create a new version, the options are grayed out. What else do I need to do in order to convert my previously purchased songs to MP3 so that I can play in my car.

Where is the song you are trying to convert located? Is it of kind Protected AAC?

Apple ID required for every purchase, and option to change it is always grayed out.

I just purchased a new iPod after my old one died on me. When I went to download some previously purchased apps, it asked me for my Apple ID with every download. I went to Restrictions, which were still off and saw that "Require Password" was set to "Immediatly" and could not be changed without turning on restrictions. I turned restrictions on to fix it, but while all others could be changed "Require Password" is still grayed out and can't be changed. This is driving me crazy and making the App Store near unusable. How do I change this?

Does it show a Delete Account option at the bottom of Settings > iCloud? What happens if you hit that?

Server connections not consistent. Folders grayed out with warning icon

For some reason, my mail.app has started showing grayed out folders and accounts with warning icons. Even though I am able to receive/send, mail seems to think the connection is not working. When I click on the icon, it reads "The server error encountered was: The attempt to read data from the server <"
I am using port 26 since my ISP blocks port 25, and I've been doing this with no problems for years...now all of a sudden it's become a problem.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I already used keychain first aid, and that didn't seem to change anything.
My ISP recently went through a server migration which has caused me a lot of problems, which is when this started happening, but they can't seem to solve the issue on their end.
btw, this is happening on multiple computers (both listed below), and I also access my accounts through iPhone.

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
On the computer that is running System Center Operations Manager, open the Operations Console.
In the navigation pane, click Administration.
Expand Security, and then click Run As Profiles.
In the Run As Profiles view, double-click Data Warehouse Account.
In the Run As Profile Properties - Data Warehouse Account properties dialog box, click the Run As Accounts tab, and then click New.
In the Run As Account list, click Data Warehouse Action Account.
In the Name list, click the management server that generated the alert.
Click OK two times.
Follow steps 4 through 8 to assign the appropriate Run As account to the following profiles:
Data Warehouse Configuration Synchronization Reader Account
Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account
Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account
For each profile, select the Run As account that matches the name of the Run As profile. For example, make the following assignments:
Assign the Data Warehouse Configuration Synchronization Reader Account to the Data Warehouse Configuration Synchronization Reader Account profile.
Assign the Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account to the Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account profile.
Assign the Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account to the Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account profile.
On the management server that generated the alert, restart the OpsMgr Health Service.
In the Operations Manager event log on the management server, verify that event ID 31554 events are logged.

Options in edit global password policy grayed out

I'm trying to edit the global password policy (under users) to "be reset at first user login" but that option and several others are grayed out.

I guess you have uninstalled an older version of PS lately?

LM4 Previous Export Folders Grayed Out

When Exporting images in LM4 (4.0), the previous list of export folders is grayed out and none can be selected. You have to choose the destination folder via the Choose button. On the next Export the previously selected folder appears in the list but, again, cannot be selected. The Clear List is also grayed out so you cannot clear the list down. This function worked fine in LM3. Is this a known reported fault?

Works fine here in 4.1 RC2.

TS1398 the wi-fi on/off option on my new ipad is grayed out. How do I turn it back on?

I was using my ipad and wi-fi is suddenly unavailable. I have checked and my Kindle and laptop can still use wi-fi. The wi-fi section of the setting shows the wi-fi is off and the on/off switch is grayed out so I can't turn it back on.
I have also turned off my wi-fi router and turned it back on and have turned the ipad off and back on.

Just Installed Mavericks; Folders grayed Out.

Help!! I have just installed Mavericks on my Mac and now some of my folders, a lot of my folders are greyed out. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!!

Close all windows and quit all applications.
Hold the "option" key down and click the "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
Select "Library" from the dropdown.
Library > Preferences > com.apple.finder.plist
Right click com.apple.finder.plist file and select "Move to Trash" from the contextual menu.
Restart the computer and try.

HT1695 The WIFI option on my phone is now grayed out.. What can I do?

This in turn has caused me to go over my data usage without me realizing it. I can not connect to any wifi and can only connect through cell towers. I have only had the phone for 15 months and have a 2 year plan. I really like the Apple line but I can no longer afford these data charges I am recieving because my iPhone will no longer connect to wifi. I have heard several complaints concerning this. Other than abandoning apple completely, are there any options I can take to resolve my problem?

Option to auto sync iPhone is grayed out

Why am I unable to select this option? I normally only plug my phone into my computer to sync so it would make it much more convenient to be able to select this option.

Check Preferences > Devices and make sure "prevent ipods and iphones from syncing automatically" isn't checked.

I checked with the Basis Admin, the user has authorisation to the T-code QM01, when I tried in the production System I can create the Notification from the option in the QA11 screen but these options are grayed out in the users screen, Is there is any other option available to solve this issue.
