Option to disable volume normalisation on mobile devices

This is a very simple feature request to complete and would make a big difference to my Spotify experience. At home I listen to music on a decent high fidelity sound system and do not have my laptop with me most evenings. I AirPlay music from my iPad to an Apple TV connected to my receiver and I cannot switch off volume normalisation on the iPad app.
I understand why volume normalisation is there by default for mobile devices, but in this context, I would like to experience the full dynamic range of the music. On a nice sound system, volume normalisation sounds horrible. The option is already there to disable it on the Mac app so I would like to see a similar feature added to the iPad app.

II have been noticing something similar throughout my time listening to Spotify premium on my ipad / iphone. I thought there was something wrong, though, when I decided to listen to the Interstellar soundtrack on my devices. It's my favourite soundtrack and unfortunately is utterly ruined by Spotify's normalisation.  I pretty much never listen to music on my computer any more and I would suggest taat this is n exponntially growing trend. WWhilst a lot of Spotify users may be more into their Taylor Swift's or Kanye West's, those of us who are certainly a sizable number, but silen, would really get a lot out of this feature being an on/off switch. It wouldn't be difficult to implement either. To appreciate this yourselves, here's the link to the first track on the album. Skip to 2:36 and wait for the organ to stutter in (It's not supposed to!)  http://open.spotify.com/track/1QheEzPkqoUQkIPGbG6gkI

You can find all relevant enhancement documents for MAM30 at:
http://service.sap.com -> Under Sap support portal -> software download ->Sap Installations And Upgrades -> Installation and Upgrade guides ->SAP xApps -> SAP xApps for Mobile Business -> SAP xMAM -> There you can find for both xMAM 3.0 (For NW 04 and 04s).

  • Disable Fancybox lightbox on mobile devices.

Searched a bit on Google but not much information returned.
I have an image gallery using Fancybox BUT would like to disable it (and the links on the gallery images) once the device browser is narrow enough.
Anyone found a slick way of doing this?
    Maybe Fancybox has something inbuilt?

Maybe turn off the entire fancybox gallery's container and turn on a simplified gallery container when the screen hits the right size.
    Hi Jon,
I did think along those lines but really wanted to find a more steamlined solution, which I think the jQuery option may provide if not then I may have to have a re-think and deploy an alternative gallery, as you suggest, with fewer images.
    Thanks for your input.
Is it just me constantly coming up against problems which you just cannot see until they hit you smack in the face or is this happening to everyone else.

I don't know about iOS but with the latest update to the Android-version that came last week we got this "Fixed: No more UNEXPECTED SPIKES in volume."
If this have something to do about "Volume Normalization" or full Replaygain, or if it was some other volume bug that could occour, I can't say.

  • UAG mobile device detection

    Hi,
We use UAG to publish SharePoint 2013 to our remote users. we often use infopath forms within SharePoint, which work great from windows phones, as with windows phone you can set it to always request the desktop version of a page. but with android and iOS
this is not possible, which results in SharePoint sending the mobile view of the site, and the form does not load.
I would like UAG to always send the desktop version of the site, regardless of what device is requesting. I believe this will be something to do with the detection module, and web configs, but im not sure exactly what to do. it would be useful if the mobile
devices used the mobile login page from UAG, and so are not prompted to install the endpoint components.
is this possible? can anyone help guide me on what needs configuring.
    Thanks,
    Craig.

    Yes, I had seen that.
I was going down that route, but then changed the approach.
its easier to do this from the SharePoint side rather than the UAG side.
    http://blogs.perficient.com/microsoft/2011/02/three-options-for-disabling-the-sharepoint-2010-mobile-redirection-system/
this worked for me, with the added benefit of the mobile UAG logon screen still being presented, rather than trying to force it to be windows, which then gave the warning about endpoint components not being installed.

    Craig.

  • Why does AMDS (apple mobile device support) not install?

I run iTunes on a new (3 months old) Windows 7 PC using version 10.6 (64-bit) of iTunes.  I have been using iTunes for many years (or various machines) without any problems.  Recently iTunes stopped working correctly.... I got numerous error messages when loading the software, and could not sync any of my devices.  I went through every tutorial/help/troubleshooting I could find and nothing worked.  I had to restort to the "last resort" option of completely removing iTunes (which I did by carefully following all of the steps in the Apple Support) and reinstall iTunes.  After reinstalling and pluggin my iPhone or iPod Touch I get a message saying, "This iPhone/iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed.  Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes."
Again, I went through every tutorial/help/support/troubleshooting option and discovered that AMDS (apple mobile device support) is missing.  None of the support articles addresses this issue (only how to turn it on, locate files on your computer, etc.) but I tried them all anyway.  Nothing worked.  I removed an reinstalled iTunes 3 more times.  No change.  AMDS is still not there.  It does not even exist on my system anywhere.  It doesn't seem to be downloading at all.  I contacted customer support and was just given links to all of the troubleshooting articles I had already tried.
I have spent many hours on this and I'm getting no where.  Please help!

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • How to disable remote wipe option for mobile devices

    Hi,
I have integrated environment of SCCM 2012 R2 and Windows Intune. I am managing Windows phone, Android and IOS devices through this setup. I was trying find an option to disable remote wipe option in the SCCM Console. Only selective wipe should be available.
Can you please help me on how to configure this setting.
    Regards
    Leela

I got the below response from the micososft intune team.
"Issue Definition: Cx would like remote wipe disabled
    in the Admin console.
Scope Agreement: Disable remote wipe feature from account.
You will not be able to block this feature using Microsoft Intune.  System
Center Configuration Manager might be able to control this feature.  You
might consider opening a case with their team.
The other thing to consider, is to limit the amount of Admin users you have.
Anyone that is given Admin rights in Microsoft Intune will have the ability to
    use the wipe feature.  "
I have raised a ticket with SCCM 2012 team, awaiting their response.

  • Option to disable iTunes volume control for remote speakers?

I have noticed that with iTunes 10, the option to disable the volume control for remote speakers seems to have disappeared from Preferences>Devices. If you click the "?" button, the help window gives an explanation of what its for but the option to check/uncheck it clearly isn't there. Since iTunes 10, streaming my music from my iMac to my Denon receiver via Airtunes/Airplay with an Airport Express has been disappointing. The volume is far too low. With version 9 and every version prior, the volume control option was always there in preferences and I always had it disabled; music came through loud and clear but since this option appears to no longer exist, the volume through the Denon receiver fails to impress, even with the iTunes volume slider at max.
Anyone else noticed steaming volume too low? If so, agree that it's a bug?
Message was edited by: Brian I.

I wholeheartedly agree with "I also used to disable the volume control to reduce the amount that my computer interferes with the sound before it gets to the external DAC." There is no reason why Apple shouldn't restore this important setting option as the volume control does negatively affect sound quality in a high-end set-up and we'd rather not just take their word for it that the volume control's maximum setting is the same as disabling it. Why does the volume slider change the output level even when using the Airport Express' digital output? It shouldn't, and it seems the sound is now being force sent through a stupid digital volume control for no good reason. If for no other reason the "disable" option should be restored to avoid inadvertent volume changes via the Remote app for iPod Touch and iPhone. Strangely as compared to several other posts here, my perceived volume level now seems louder than before, not softer as others are reporting. People that are serious about sound quality do not want iTunes or AirPlay (formerly AirTunes) to manipulate the volume level or any other aspect of the sound at all ever, as it can't help but only hurt. I also thought the "disable" setting was available in the Airport Utility previously, but it's vanished from there too.

Actually I would like to protect email with RMS templates (defined by me on AD RMS 2012 Server) but the [Permission] tab is not visible at Outlook 2013 in Nokia Windows 8 Mobile Device.

Currently, you can't use WP 8 to protect docs/emails with ADRMS templates. YOu can however use transport rules on Exchange server side to configure automatic ADRMS protection.

  • Wipe a mobile device before disabling a user

Has anyone tried to tackle the issue of remote wiping ActiveSync devices before disabling a user account with FIM?
We have an issue when we terminate a user and disable the account and we reset the password for good measure, the phone will not receive a remote wipe command since that user on that phone will no longer authenticate.
Curious if anyone has thought of a work around or some solution to wipe mobile devices.  Short of an MDM that will do this via an installed app on the phone.

Perhaps you can either use the PoSh MA or the PoSh workflow task to send the
    Clear-MobileDevice command to Exchange.

  • I disabled "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" in Windows

I did this because my device wasn't charging and I was trying (still am trying) to solve that problem.
But once I disabled the "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" under the Device Manager the device didn't dhwo up with an "X" next to it it just went away. And now when I plug in ipods it will not show up at all!
I even booted into safe mode expecting to see more drivers there and I still didn't see the apple one to re-enable it. I should have deleted it then it would have just come back on a re-boot!
    Anyone have any suggestions?

Re-installing the apple mobile device support under add and remove programs fixed this issue. Found this after many iTunes re-installs.
Still have a charging issue. I will post that in a different message.

  • Disabled User, Mobile-Device (Active Sync) still has Access 24h after disabling Account

    Hello,
    i encountered following issue:
I disabled an User in AD, but the mobile devices of the corresponding User still had access even 24h after disabling the account (iphone 5s, Blackberry Q10). My predecessor was known to abuse some access rights (suspicious gpos, phantom users with way to
    many rights, private folder access...).
    Our System: Windows 2008 R2 + Exchange 2010 SP3
Are there any hidden settings (in Exchange powershell, ADSI-Settings etc...) to extend the access-validity of mobile devices?
Or is this a normal behaviour?
    Thank you and best regards,
    Georg

The best way to stop a user from accessing their email via a mobile device when the account is going to be disabled is to go to their account and remove Active Sync from their mailbox.  To do so, go to Recipient Configuration, Mailboxes, properties
of the user, Mailbox Features and disable Exchange ActiveSync.  then disable the user.  Force Active Directory replication as well. Then the disabled user should no longer have access.   You can even remove device partnerships or wipe their
    device as well.
