Option to reinstall on replacing files?

Had earlier posted on this problem:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=12&catid=189&threadid =1286384
...and also turned in a support message to Adobe which has
had no response since initiated July 22nd.
In brief, the error, whenever I attempt to use any Spry
widget, is a variation on:
The following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 33 of file "[username]:Applications:Adobe Dreamweaver
CS3:Configuration:Objects:SPRY:SpryTabbedPanels.htm":
unexpected end of data
With other widgets, it will reference the similar line in the
corresponding .htm file for that widget.
I have manually replaced all the Spry (installed 1.4) with
1.5 beta as mentioned in another unrelated thread, wondering if
that would help. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Can we try this a step at a time? Show us the page BEFORE you
apply the
widget, and then list the steps that give you this error
message, please.
That way, we can try to reproduce it.

  • Replace files option - conditions?

    If I have an SFTP job with the "Replace files" option unchecked, and I had a file called "File A" with 15 bytes SFTPed over 15 minutes ago, and I have another file with the SAME filename but bigger size say 50 bytes, when I attempt an SFTP, would it override the file at the destination since file size is different? So basically, is this option only comparing filenames only, or file sizes too?

    It is comparing only filenames nothing related to size.

  • Is there a "replace files" bug in iTunes?  Plays fine in iTunes- not on Pod

    Hello, all. Long story short, I'm re-ripping all my CDs at a higher bit rate. I'm going from 128 Kbps AAC to 192 Kbps AAC (variable bit rate.) Now I'm having issues.
    So far, when iTunes asks me if I want to replace my existing files before I rip, I say "yes," but now I'm wondering if that's a big mistake due to a bug in iTunes. Why? Well, although the newly ripped album plays fine in iTunes and through my iPod (using it as a hard drive through the computer), once I disconnect my iPod and make it portable, the iPod will skip track #2 (for example) of a 9 track cd.
    I've reset my iPod - no change.
    I've deleted the album from my iPod and dragged it back on there - no change.
    I'm trying to track down the root of the problem. The replacement file is obviously fine, and even plays in another media player. Someone said "replacing" files is bad because iTunes doesn't replace gapless playback information, and it uses old data for your newly sized files. Is that the root of my problem? Does iTunes have a "replace existing files" bug? It's the only thing I can think of. A solution would be to have iTunes re-analyze all my iTunes tracks for gapless playback and other data, but that doesn't seem to be an iTunes option. Any ideas? Re-ripping the cd is not an option. (But for all you whistle blowers, rest assured it was a cd I bought, so everything is legal.)
    5th gen iPod with video   Windows XP   iTunes 7.1.1.5

    Have you updated your iPod and iTunes sofware?
    most cases, iTunes can play these high quality songs, which is meant for newer mobile devices like  iPhones, iPod Touch, nano and iPad, which the older iPod cant play, but only playable with iPod classic sofware version 2.0.4
    most likely it is an incompatible song format, read this Apple support article.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1334?viewlocale=en_USet
    If  your iPod software is version 1.1.2, then you have to use lower quality format.
    Can you select the problematic song, and Advance -> create iPod version

  • Modification to Open/Create/Replace file vi in Labview

    I'm a relative newbie to LabView so this modification described below is a daunting task for me, given the complexity of the block diagram in the Open/Create/Replace file vi .
    I want to change the dialog box and choices when you have selected a file that already exists from Replace or Cancel as the only 2 options to:
    ReplaceFile  AddToExistingFile  RePromptForANewFile QuitApplication  (this 4 option choice is my first preference)
    or at minimum
    ReplaceFile  AddToExistingFile  Cancel (adding AddToExistingFile as an option)

    First of all, you should know that playing with the VIs supplied with LV is not always a good idea and open\create\replace is an example for a particularly not-good-for-editing VI. In any case, you should not overwrite the original.
    In this case, you can use Edit>>Find to find the 2 button dialog you're seeing. When I look at where it's located, it's enough to discourage any thought about changing the VI. At the moment it has a single output (overwrite?). You could replace it with a subVI which will have all your buttons, but you will need to add code to handle the extra buttons, which can be very dangerous.
    You may wish to create a much simpler logic instead which will do what you want yourself (using the VIs in the File I/O>>Advanced palette, like Open File and File properties), which will probably be safer.
    Try to take over the world!

  • Photoshop Action Question How to Avoid Replace Files Dialogue Box

    I have Photoshop CS3 running on a Macintosh. This Photoshop action on this Mac opens PDFs and saves them as a JPEG to a folder on a server.
    Sometimes the originating file will be modfied, so a new PDF will be created and have to go through the action again. The intent is for the action to overwrite the preexisting JPEG file(s) on the server, because they are out of date and must be replaced.
    The photoshop action on the Mac converts the new PDF to a JPEG, but then stops and shows a "Replace Files" dialgue box, which displays a listing of the name(s) of the JPEG(s) that will be overwritten. The dialogue box reads "Some of the specified files already exist in the target location. The files marked will be replaced." Below that message are two buttons to choose from, "Cancel" and "Replace". I always click "Replace"
    Is there a way to get the the action, (which specifically reads, "With Save Image Files" on the part of the action where it saves the jpg),  to just go ahead and overwrite the existing JPEG file(s) on the server without presenting the dialogue box?

    I can’t test on CS3, but I think the affected features should not have changes since CS3.
    Anyway, I think an Action cannot perform what you want, a Script should be able to, though.
    You could adapt the following code by changing the variable docPath to the correct path of the Folder you want to save the jpgs into.
    If you want to give it a try, paste the following text into a new file in ExtendScript Toolkit (part of Photoshop’s installation, Applications/Utilities/Adobe Utilities/ExtendScript Toolkit CS3, I guess) and save it as a jsx-file into Photoshop’s Presets/Scripts-folder.
    After restarting Photoshop the Script should be available under File > Scripts and can be assigned a Keyboard Shortcut directly, recorded into an Action or started from ExtendScript Toolkit directly.
    // saves jpg into same folder;
    // be advised: this  overwrites existing jpgs of the same name without prompting.
    // 2010, use it at your own risk;
    #target photoshop;
    if (app.documents.length > 0) {
    var thedoc = app.activeDocument;
    // getting the name and location;
    var docName = thedoc.name;
    if (docName.indexOf(".") != -1) {var basename = docName.match(/(.*)\.[^\.]+$/)[1]}
    else {var basename = docName};
    // getting the location, if unsaved save to desktop;
    try {var docPath = thedoc.path}
    catch (e) {var docPath = "~/Desktop"};
    // jpg options;
    var jpegOptions = new JPEGSaveOptions();
    jpegOptions.quality = 9;
    jpegOptions.embedColorProfile = true;
    jpegOptions.matte = MatteType.NONE;
    //save jpg as a copy:
    thedoc.saveAs((new File(docPath+"/"+basename+".jpg")),jpegOptions,true);
    //that’s it; thanks to xbytor;

  • I set firefox to open a filetype (.SGF) w/ a program but it doesn't, so I set it to save/ask and neither option works, it always opens file link in a new tab.

    I've gone into the Options and set the .SGF file to open with Smartgo. It refuses to do that. Clicking on a link to a .SGF file simply opens the file as text in a new tab.
    Since this didn't work, I tried to set firefox to download it instead, because then I can use the window's filetype associations to open it. It won't download the file unless I actually right-click and save-as on the link.
    This is tedious when viewing lots of these files. I even set it to Ask me after I saw the the Download option didn't work. It doesn't Ask me. What is going on here?
    Also I am using firefox 23
    EDIT: It seems to be website specific. Some websites will allow me the option to open it in Smartgo, others will just open it in a tab as text. What is causing this discrepancy and can it be surmounted through browser settings?
    An example website to showcase the issue is:
    http://igokisen.web.fc2.com/wr/lg.html
    clicking on any of these links will not download, open, or ask about what you want to do with the file.

    That happens if the server sends the file as text/plain.
    You can see this if you open "Tools > Page Info > General": Content-Type: text/plain
    Files send this way will always open in a tab.

  • Error 7 occurred at open/create/replace file

    Hello,
    I have searched the forum and could not find any useful information regarding my problem, so hope you may shed some light. MyVI can create a new csv (text) file by using the time to name the file, so every time the new file will be created with a different name and file path is not a relative path. I can run the VI in both development environment and stand along executable without any problem. But,
    One of my colleagues  cannot run the executable exe on her machine because Error 7 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in xxxx.vi Possible reason: LabVIEW: File not found. The file might be in a different location or deleted. Use the command prompt or the file explorer to verify that the path is correct.
    My question is why only she cannot run this exe on her machine. I have checked a few different PC in my office and all of them can run this exe without problem, so I am pretty sure the code is fine.
    I have already ask her to do,
    Run the executable as administrator
    Save the new file to other drives (not C: drive)
    but she still cannot run the executable. I dont think this is a premission issue, otherwise, LabVIEW would give a different error, Error 8 I believe.
    Both her PC and my PC is running Windows 7 professional 64-bit. The only difference I can see is that she is based in US and I am based Australia. Does anyone have any idea? Please help.
    Thanks,
    Sherman

    I’m not sure but expecting like below,
    As you said, your creating file name with Time. Make sure file name is correct and there is no special characters (like, / or : ). If your formatting time to string with “Format Date/Time String.vi” (while creating file name), based on UTC format, string will change.
    UTC format specifies if the output string is in Universal Time or in the configured time zone for the computer. If TRUE, date/time string is in Universal Time. The default is FALSE.
    Make sure you have access rights to create files into mentioned folder. Try to create new file manually.

  • Error 6 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in NI_Excel.lvclass:Save Report to

    I have an application that works on LV60 and when run in LV86 I get the following error:
    Error 6 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in NI_Excel.lvclassave Report to File.vi->SWF001 Test.vi
    Possible reason(s):
    LabVIEW: Generic file I/O error.
    =========================
    NI-488: I/O operation aborted.
    C:\SWF001 IO Files\1_Single.xls
    The application does:
    New Report.vi
    Excel Get Worksheet.vi
    Excel Easy Table.vi
    Excel Easy Text.vi (4 of them)
    Save Report to File.vi
    Dispose Report.vi
    all in a nice chain (errors and report-in/outs) as is typical
    For some reason I'm getting this error. I'm using it with Excel 2003 SP3 and the spreadsheet contains macros (and I get a prompt "should I enable macros:" (I answer yes), that I didn't get with LV60 and the older version of Excel). This is probably not the problem? but deserves mention.
    The file does exist on the system (and it appears the application is writing to it successfully - though perhaps truncated as the error indicates- i can't tell for sure).
    I can open and save the Excel file independently of LV just fine.
    Any clues?
    Many thanks! -David
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Unfortunately, an Error 6 is a catch all category for all sorts of file IO errors that LV doesn't know how to handle. For example, while it doesn't sound like your problem, trying to access a file that resides on a network drive that isn't currently mounted can generate an Error 6.
    Have you tried saving the file to a different location?
    If you restart your computer and run the VI does it generate the error the very first time you run it?
    Can you post your code - or at least a subset of it that demonstrates the problem?
    Is Excel open when you are running the code?
    Also, as a test try modifying your code so it has a unique name every time you save it.

  • Error 7 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in Open Config Data.vi

    I have a .vi that was working fine with Labview 7.0.  I now have upgraded to Labview Professional 8.0, and I am trying to build a stand alone  executable.  When I build the executable, build an installer, and then try to install it on another computer then run it......... I get the "Error 7 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in Open Config Data.vi" error.  Any ideas?

    Hello,
    In addition to the LabVIEW Help, there is an Application Note on Distributing Applications with the LabVIEW Application Builder and a knowledge base article What Is The Build Specification Feature In Application Builder? that might be helpful.
    Also, here
    is a knowledge base article on what Dennis has described and it
    provides an example to call an extra Strip Path function. Also, instead
    of using a Match Pattern function, you could use the App.Kind property
    node (use Open Application Reference, Property Node: Application ->
    Kind, and Close Reference) to determine if you are running in a
    Run-time system.

    Hi everyone,
    can anyone help me with this problem?
    "error 5 occurred at Open/Create/Replace File in Write spreadsheet String.vi "
    I've been using this part of the program for over a year an suddenly this error occures. But not always, mainly at the very beginning of my tests when the file should not be open.
    Info: I'm using a realtime PXI-System. Maybe the amount of data can cause the problem? (about 2MB)

    Hi Meike,
    is the file opened by a different program? Do you try to access it by FTP in parallel to your VI?
    You could use basic file functions instead of WriteSpreadsheetFile. That way you could open the file before starting the loop, keep it open all the time and close it once you're finished - with the added benefit of easier error handling…

    I have Windows 7, Microsoft Outlook and PSE 13. I have used the "Share photos as embedded images" feature frequently, but today when I went to use it, it wasn't there, only the option to send email with files attached. How do I get back the ability to send emails with photos embedded. I like adding the frames and backgrounds and I think it's easier for recipients to look at the photos. Thanks for any suggestions of things to try.

    I had a similar problem in that my wife's iphone 5 could not send pics with imessage.  Had to set the settings to default to SMS or whatever.  After laboring many hours on the web I coincidentally was on the phone with the internet people to question my internet speed.  They changed the router channel, which is something that I am capable of doing myself.  After that, the pics go over imessage.  My own Iphone didn't have the problem.  We are both latest IOS 7.0.6.
