Option to remove "Sent to Recycle Bin" message after delete

I've found the "sent to recycle bin" message sticks smack in the middle of the screen during review which obstructs further pictures. I delete one picture and the message hangs on obstructing further review for the next 5-6 pictures (maybe more, depending on how quickly I'm going). It's very time consuming to wait for this message to disappear when I'm trying to filter through 700+ pictures from shooting sports. Would also be nice to be able to toggle this off/on or please have the ability in the preferences to relocate the message to one of the screen corners.

iTunes will ask only if the tracks being deleted are in the *iTunes media folder location* shown in iTunes prefs Advanced and the *Keep iTunes music folder organized* is ticked.

  • Video Podcasts NOT being sent to Recycle Bin on deletion...

    Hi,
I've long been having trouble with deleting my video podcasts. Since version 6 at least I've been unable to send vodcasts straight to the recycle bin...choosing this option only leads to a couple of seconds of iTunes stalling, removing the podcast from the screen, but leaving it in the iTunes Music folder.
When I first noticed this issue I found that MPEG-4 Movie's (.mp4) deleted fine, but this isn't the case anymore. They now join both MPEG-4 Video File's (.m4v) & Quicktime Movie's (.mov) in not being moved to the recycle bin when told to.
I've checked this on a friends MAC and there's absolutely no issue there - it's clearly just a Windows issue. I've seen a few other threads about this over the years, but no resolution...is there one? Does Apple even know this issue exists?
    Shane.

    Thanks for the reply Pamela.
I've reset all my dialogue warnings, but I don't think that's the problem. All my audio podcasts delete to the recycle bin fine, it's just the vodcasts that don't go where they're told. I always get the option to "Cancel", "Move To Recycle Bin" or "Keep File".
I have however discovered that the problem only occurs with vodcasts I've recently watched. If I watch one, close iTunes, then re-open iTunes and delete it, it goes to the recycle bin straight-away. Unwatched (i.e. new, not just "marked unwatched") vodcasts are also fine.
    What's going on here?

Corrupted files on the HD. Input/output errors might require erasing and reformatting the HDs. See http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/trash.html for more info. BTW, there's no recycle bin on a Mac, only a trash can and the containers are referred to as Trash.

  • Recycle bin message in CS 4

    HI
I created a manual connection for my client the other day because their connection became corrupt. She had 3 draft pages. When the new connection wa created - it recognized that she had drafts and said they would be placed in the recycle bin. I searched around and didn't see a recycle bin in Contribute - is there a trick to finding that? or was that just a nice way of saying the drafts were going into the trash and unretreivable?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
That error message means that the drafts will be going to the Recycle Bin. You can retrieve them from the recycle bin, by restoring that folder from Recycle Bin. Or, you can backup the current Site folder present in "C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Contribute CS4\en_US\Sites\" location. This location is with respect to Windows XP. In Windows 7 or Vista, the folder will be C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Contribute CS4\en_US\Sites. Create the new connection, and transfer the folders from the back up folder to the current folder.
    Hope this helps.

  • WRT610N Corrupted Recycle Bin, Unable to Delete Files

I have a WRT610N router with a Western Digital external hard drive connect by USB as a network attached storage device.
I have the drive mapped to my local computer.  I am unable to delete any files or folders from the drive and receive continuous errors that my storage device has a corrupted recycle bin (i.e. N:\Share\User\$Recycle.bin).
    How do I fix this?

Well Brandon, I backed my PC up again and moved my User Folder to my NAS.  Other than being slow, I haven't had the issues you describe yet.  It could be that you may have been shutting down and the network disconnected before the NAS finished writing...I can't be sure.  I would like to share with you that I believe you would be more satisified with the performance of your PC if you kept those files local and used your NAS as a Backup and/or file sharing device.  It is just too slow...kind of like having all your files on floppys!!
So, while mine is working in the short term, I am moving it back to my local disk (ok, let me be honest, my raid 5 disk ARRAY..what can I say, I hate restoring from backup!!)  I think you will be more satisfied if you moved yours back as well.  Performance would increase a lot.
So consider using the NAS as just that...A place where you can store/share files on the Network...not do a lot of read/write activity as your would in a SAN or local drive.
Is there some particular reason that you want to use the NAS to hold all your recent data?

  • How can I send deleted emails to the recycle bin vs just deleting them with my eamail system?

I have a program that when I empty the recycle bin, it also wipes the allocated space to delete the files totally from the hard cleans the hard disk and gives me space. Space that I need. I get a lot of emails that are large. I don't know if deleting them with "yahoo" opens up space. But using this program with items in the recycle bin will. I have Windows 7 on one computer and windows xp on the other. I need to clean up both computers the best I can so there is space for me to install other items that are rather large sized. Please help. Thank you.

Are you talking about files from webmail? If you clear the browser cache, does that not free up some space?

  • Recycling Bin - files after save

Every time I save a file, I get a file with the same name and path but without an extension in the recyceling bin. What is this about?

It's likely the recovery file used by the recycle bin. It is not normally visible unless you have hidden files and folders enabled.

  • Removing Applications from BlackBerry Desktop Software: After deleting the app the app name still shows in BBDS

    Hello,
I have installed multiple 3-rd party applications on my phone through the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. I am attempting to remove certain applications from the list.
    Here is what I experience:
I click on Applications icon.  BBDS communicates with the phone and then displays a list of native applications. I click on Install/Remove button. A list of third party applications are displayed. I de-select an application and the hit Start. The phone is restarted. I can confirm that the application is removed from my phone, however, the application name is still displayed under Install/Remove applications. I even clicked on the app and highlighted the application but there is no option to remove the app from the list. When I click on Edit the delete option is disabled. My goal is to remove the 3rd party application from the list completely. Please help!

  • Recovering mail messages after deleting Account

After deleting and recreating my account, I lost all my Inbox and Sent messages. I did a back up before I did this (mbox). However when I try to reimport (Import data from "other"), I navigate to the messages folder (which I backed up to an external drive), but I get a message "Error: No valid mbox files were found". The messages are all there, in a folder as .emix files, and I can open them up when I double click. I realize that I can reimport them into Mail by the Move command, but it appears I would have to do this one message at a time (and I have hundreds!).
Is there something I can be doing here to remedy the problem?
    Thanks,
    Carl

If your accounts are POP and you didn't delete the messages, then I suspect they are still there, but Mail doesn't know it. So try this:
    1. Quit Mail if it's running.
    2. Go to ~/Library/Mail and delete the Envelope Index file(s).
    3. Restart Mail and wait for it to import your existing messages. When it's finished, Mail should function normally and all your email should be back where it belongs with any luck.
Scully and I have to be at another Bureau training session, so we will be offline the rest of the evening.

  • Lost all Messages after Deleting some.

Pop account using Mail v2.1 on an iBook G4 OS X (10.4.10) with 640MB Ram belonging to my wife. I'm a PC guy. Thinking of changing to Apple. :=)
My wife deleted a 'batch' (approx 50)of messages by highlighting them, clicking on Edit, and Delete. When she did that all the messages in that mailbox disappeared. She can still receive emails in that account as the New Message counter still shows when new messages arrive. She cannot see the new messages without doing a Search for them using part of the missing email address. When she does a Search the messages are there. There are 4656 messages found.
There is a small triangle next to that email account with the missing messages. When the triangle is clicked the triangle rotates, but nothing else shows. Nothing drops down below the account as I think it should. So the account is there, messages come in, the triangle rotates, the messages are not visible in that account without a Search of the Inbox.
I have attempted to Rebuild that particular mailbox, but the option of doing so is not available. 'Rebuild' is dull for lack of the proper term. She has another mailbox which does have the option to Rebuild so that is available in the program. I did attempt to Rebuild the Inbox under which the two accounts are located. That didn't do any good.
I attempted to Reindex with no change.
I ran the Disk Utility with no change.
When I look in Library, Mail, Pop(account), Inbox I see the messages she deleted. Nothing else. I can read them by double clicking on them which makes them open in Mail.
If this was a Windows program I'd reinstall it, but Mac programs are usually pretty steady.
I'm at a loss. The messages seem to be there, but not visible in the mailbox. Any suggestions?
    Aloha

The problem is probably that the mailbox has lost the .mbox suffix in the filesystem.
Report the names of the files and folders present at the first level of the ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/ account folder in the Finder.
In order to post the exact file names and avoid typing mistakes, proceed as follows. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/. With that folder open, if you’re looking at it in View > as List mode, first collapse any expanded folders so that the Finder only shows the files and folders at the first level. Now, do Edit > Select All (⌘A), then Edit > Copy (⌘C), and paste it in your reply to this post.
You’ll probably see an INBOX folder without the .mbox suffix there. If that’s the case, quit Mail and rename the folder to INBOX.mbox.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. That is, ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder, i.e. /Users/username/Library.

  • Why do I keep getting a storage full message after deleting most of my photo app, on 16gb iPhone6

    Hey,
I just purchased the new iPhone 6 16GB.upgrade jump T-mobile not paid in full $700.Nevertheless, why do I keeping getting a message about storage full? And it says...Go to setting and manage storage with iCloud. I have deleted most of the app, photo, and just about everything else, and still keep getting this message. It's almost as if I will be paying additional 3.99-19.99 a month to manage the icloud for apps that I already had. Perhaps this is the gimmicks to order the 64GB iPhone 6. In fact, the 64GB is offered as an upgrade to new or additional line customers. Come On give us a break for the loyal customers Geezh!!
Plus can't even upgrade software update to iOS8.1.1 because there is not enough storage. What sense does that make to even upgrade to the new iPhone 6???? Hurry up and fix this problem!

Purchasing iCloud storage will not help your issue. Also, if you want to upgrade, do it via iTunes rather than OTA - it doesn't require as much available storage to do it that way.
To check to see what is taking up so much of your storage, go to Settings>General>Usage>Manage Storage, and you will see a list of the items on your device and the amount of storage they are taking up.
T-mobile's offer of the 64GB iPhone 6 to new or additional line customers has nothing to do with Apple. You need to take that up with T-mobile.
    Cheers,

  • Can my parents read the content of my messages after deletion from my phone?

    Hello everyone,
First off, I'd like to thank you kindly for actually checking into this forum, it means a lot. Secondly, I have looked up a lot of information on this question, and I've been getting A LOT of mixed messages. It is to my understanding, that even though my parents are the bill payer for my phone, they do not have any right to request forms which reveal the actual CONTENT of my text messages. They CAN however, see the time, date, and how many text messages. That is just to my understanding. If someone could answer this question, please do.
                                                                                                                                                     Thank you.

I would just not text if you think they are going to ask verizon for what's inside them.
P.S She should be glad that she gets a free phone at all, I was age not that long ago and mean it, not in some old guy kind of way and I had to pay for my cell phone. Kids think that they Should a free NEW 20000+ car for free when they are 16 and all this crap. I am not saying I did not want any thing like that, but if I did not get it, I did not act like they hated me and crap.

After reading a message and then deleting it is there any way that I can have Mail auotmatically open the next message? Most other mail software (Entourage, Eudora) allow this?

When you say "playlist," do you mean your iTunes library (on your computer)?  If so, this question is not related to your iPod nano, is that correct?
Or maybe you have an iPod touch (5th gen) with iOS 8.1?
