OPTIONAL HOLIDAY

Hello,
How to configure "Optional Holiday"???
In holiday calendar in a year we have 10 days out of that 9 days are fixed holiday for evryone and 1 day is a Restricted(optional) holiday.
Ex:-. out of three days we could select one day only. how to configure in SAP.
Restricted Holidays to avail any one of the following: Ramzan,Bakrid,ONAM (Note the optional holiday is not religion specific)
Kindly provide your inputs to configure optional holiday.

Holdiay Calendar can be used in IT2003. Substitute that day with new holiday calendar which will have Optional Holdiay.
So, this optional holiday will be assiged to those empl. who have new HOldiay Calendar in its place.
Otherwise, in standard Holiday Calendar... for all those Optional Holidays... use Seperate Holiday Class say "4"
for Optional Holdiay 4, when employee avails Leave, update Absence Type "Holiday Leave".
1) Make Counting Rule whether the day to be counted as Absence or Not using Holiday Class.
2) secondly, even Day Type/Day Rule can be created to in Absence Valuation Rule whether to consider if Holiday Class 4 and Leave availed matached... Paid Day... Otherwise.. make it Unpaid day.
OR
U can control at Counting Rule level, to accept Absence for a particular day if Holiday Class=4. and make this as Paid Day.

    I have a usual request from a client. However for SAP it is unusual. As I understand there is no standard configuration for an optional holiday. I am posting this question here.
    There are 5 PSA on client system, and each of them have different holiday calendar. It is achieved in a straight forward way.
    Now an additional requirement is that client wants to introduce a list of 10 holidays as common optional holidays across company. Out of these 10 holidays, an employee should be able to choose only one. All the threads speak of use of IT2006. however we do not use IT2006 in our system.
    Is there anyway we can configure this without IT2006?

    That is a good solution. I too thought of it as a good way. But when i started to checkout on that in system, like i have mentioned the client is not using Absence quotas 2006. they are using IT0005, leave entitlements. and i have never worked on this before. they have an idea of migrating to IT2006 soon but for now they need this to be fixed. can this be achieved using IT0005 also in a similar way? also will be great if anyone can share configuration key for IT0005.

    and there while maintaining public holidays
    give the denomination as per ur requirement
    and here u have to take note of some of the holidays which will come as floating date but not fixed date,as some festive dates are not fixed

    My client has got this specification that, his employees  can utilise any 3 days of holidays from the list of 10 Optional holidays given.

    Hi,
    Probably you can do something like this:
    1) Maintain Optional Holidays with customer defined Holiday Class - say 4.
    2) Create Absence type Optional Holidays with Quota 2 days.
    3) Maintain the Absence type only for Holiday Class 4.

    I've 3 optional holidays to be entered in the holiday calendar. Employees are eligible for ANY 1 holiday out of the 3 optional holidays. For those employees who do not wish to avail this optional holiday - it shall lapse for them.

    Hi,
    Create 9 holidays with Holiday class 1 .
    Create 3 optional holidays with Holiday class 3.
    Next you need modify your day types as per below.
    Now holiday class 3 will be unpaid.
    Now create an absence types called Optional Holiday and create Absence quota with Constant 1 in V_T559E table.
    Then generate quotas which would One day per year .
    Now we need to put restriction while applying Optional holiday leave type it should allow to create a record only when holiday class is 3. To get holiday use FM HR_PERSON_READ_WORK_SCHEDULE”  ,then check the holiday class(FTKLA) is equal to three then only allow the user to create a record.
    If employees tries to take more than one optional holiday , SAP standard message will be raised at the time of applying for the 2nd optional holiday.  "Not enough quota"
    BADI at ESS level : PT_ABS_REQ
    BADI at R/3 leavel : HRPAD00INFTY The above FM needs to be used in both the BADI's.

  • Leave approveing error

    My employee applied leaves on 06.01.2012 for the dates 24.12.2011 as a CL & 25.12.2011 as Optional holiday. But the problem is after approveing his HOD it shows in portal for the date 25.12.2011 its Status-APPROVED but come to 24.12.2011 it shows ERROR in portal why? Please guide me
    Both leaves are Processed under one Work flow number only!

    Did you check the log for error leave request in the backend?
    Go to SE38.
    Give program name as RPTARQDBVIEW and execute it.
    In the selection screen give your employee number and also the date when he has applied.
    Then output of the report will show the status of leave request he applied.
    Select the one which is in ERROR state, then click on workflow log button.
    Then check in the log for the exact error.
    I need to know what is the error you are getting in the backend to provide the solution.

  • Help: AP Div Shifts All Over The Place

    I created a form inside of an AP Div. I place the Div on the page on top of the background graphic without a problem. But when I preview it in IE, the div and its contents shifts over off the page. When I preview it in Firefox, it shifts in the other direction off the page. What gives?

    Do like:
    Call the calendar maintenance transaction in one of the following two ways:
    - In the implementation guide for Global Settings choose  Maintain calendar Execute
    - Call the transaction SCAL in the OK-Code field.
    Choose the option "Holiday calendar" or "Factory calendar".
    Choose Display.
    You receive a list of all holiday or factory calendars which exist in the system, with descriptive text and ID.
    Choose a calendar.
    Call the function Display. definition, to get the definition of the chosen calendar.
    Call the function Display calendar, to get a calendar overview. In the factory calendars overview screen you can choose a year and display a calendar page for the chosen year with the function Display year.

  • Holidays:  Disabling "Your reply" option

    When we create holidays for our users, we just want the holiday to display in their calendars, and we don't want the "Your reply: Decide later, Keep in agenda, Remove from agenda" option to be visible to them. I don't see a way to manipulate this through the Calendar Administrator web-based form. Is there a way it can be figured from the command line somewhere?

    We have the same problem. Especially when adding new users in ocs it's very unpleasent when being greeted with 10 years of public holidays to confirm in advance upon first login to oracle calendar client or ocfo calendar. Since we insert public holidays on sundays and confession-dependent holidays for informational purpose as well this would be more then 10 x 30 = 300 holidays in Germany.
    Additionally it would also be nice to be able to bulk create these public holidays.

    my client is asking me to creat a Holiday calender , and giving the option for all employee to take one optional leave from the 5 leave in a year. How to do it???

    HI,
    You have to create Quota of one day per annum as holiday  and employees will take leave on that day will be paid only for a single time .
      This scenario cant be covered with holiday calendar

  • Optional/fixed holidays for different regions

    Hi SAP gurus,
    We have two offices located in different regions (karnataka and pune).
    There are some leaves which are applicable only for karnataka and some for pune.
    For all the employees irrespective of the region, we allocated 10 optional/fixed holidays in a year.
    Now i want the restriction to be made in sap in such a way that pune employees should be able to apply only those holidays that are identified for them. If they try to apply any other day as option/fixed holiday, the system should not allow them and give a message saying it is not a optional/fixed holiday.
    The same should be done for bangalore employees.
    Pls suggest how to achieve this scenario.

  • Best option for using iPhoto on holiday

    I Practise a lot of photography and have a OCD about all my pictures being organised in iPhoto, with keywords, geotags, face recognition etc. I currently do this on my iMac to which my  iPhoto library is stored on a Seagate external 2tb hard drive via FireWire. The problem I find it's a lot of work when I get back and I'm stuck in the office for days organising, the solution I'm looking for is some how doing this on the go.
    THe first thing I thought is to get a Macbook pro or a MacBook Air, and just take my hard drive with with me, but I'm not sure if it will need to do a library rebuild every time I unplug from iMac to another device or is it just plug and  play, or could there be an option to do some thing with a mini mac or mini mac server as these appear a cheaper option to buy. Must places I go have a HD TV so could connect the mini mac to a TV or I imagine there's and option these days of using your mini mac on a iPad screen.

    Yes
    3GB will go some way, so I'd upload your own, which avoids missing images when some other site changes. Layout/appearance should be the same for remote or uploaded.

  • No enable palm option / no sync / no joy / no phone completion / no holiday

    Hi. After reviewing all the advise found here, I repeatedly fixed permissions, updated to Palm Desktop rev D, reinstalled combined Mac OS 10.4.7, but still iSync does not see my Palm (105) anymore. There is no "enable palm" item in iSync menu and "Add Device" does not respond when I click it.
    The Palm conduit is however installed in the conduits folder (and I have disabled all the wouldbe conflicting conduits). If I run hotsync, it hangs on the iSync conduit.
    The motorola phone icon is not displayed in the iSync window now - just "motorola..." and it does not expand to offer any other options, though it is paired and theoretically syncing, but calender dates at least are not completed...
    What else to try!?
    I did previously have the phone and palm all syncing beautifully untill I erased the hard drive, reinstalled everything from scratch and thus complicated my life dramatically.
    Help!
