Optional tray 3 won't fully close into its enclosure

Laserjet 5000 with optional tray 3.
The bottom tray will no longer close into its enclosure. It closes to about 2 inches and than stops. It is getting blocked by something inside in a location that I can't visually inspect. There is nothing outside and in back obstructing the tray from travelling through. I've even tried seperating the entire tray assembly from the main printer to work on to no success.

I have closure to this problem. Came back to the printer and the tray closed. I can't actually account for how it happened, it may have been in the process of opening and closing the various trays, printer top, etc. that I struck the right sequence to releasing whatever was obstructing the tray but it closes now.

  • My Firefox won't fully open.

The other day it froze saying there was a script error, but would never fully close or let me do anything including restarting or shutting down my computer. Now Firefox will not open anything aside from the bar at the top and will not function, but continues to say my Firefox is in use and won't let me delete or replace the program.

  • IPhoto won't fully launch after an automatic software update

I've got iPhoto '09 version 8.1.2 (424) on a MAC OS X version 10.6.8 and recently went through an automatic software upgrade which seems to have stuffed iPhoto!
When I double-click on the iPhoto icon from the Applications folder, it collapses into the dock, and doesn't launch.
The desktop view then appears, with the iPhoto top menu bar, and no iPhoto launch material. In the top menu bar, most of the actions under the Events and Photos tabs are greyed out. Basically it's not launching as it used to, and I can't see or access any photos at all.
I've also tried connecting my iPhone to download photos, and emailing an image to save to iPhoto... but iPhoto doesn't launch - the icon in the dock doesn't jump and down. When I connected my camera, the icon in the dock jumped up and dwn, but then didn't fully launch into the application, and just went to the desktop view with the unhelpful greyed out iPhoto menu bar options.
Any ideas on how to restore iPhoto to working order?? I'm not super computer literate either. Thanks!

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
(On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
(Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • Hard drive won't go back into place

This is the third time I'm doing this, but this time my HD with the skate thing won't go back into the slot, it fights back and every other time there's some sort of glue residue that comes attached to it.
I've read it somewhere that this is a glue that's originally somewhere inside the slot but with the heat it liquifies and moves around.
Is there any safe way I can clean this? Or is it a glue problem at all? I had no problem removing the old one, btw. And, yeah, I'm sure I'm doing this correctly, as unfortunately, this is not my first HD replacement.

    Thanks, Nick.
Well, it's there, I didn't glue it back because I didn't know what sort of glue to use and I figure this region gets really hot, so it shouldn't be just any kind of glue. I just slid the hd in with it, it's as good as glued.
A hint here: if you close the upper case just a bit wrong, chances are your dvd drive won't work anymore, it will start spitting discs and behaving like it's broken.
I for one wouldn't advise anyone opening the macbook case, it's absolutely painful and a lot can go wrong. But if you, like me, wasn't satisfied with the Apple Care service - here in Brasil the service provider I sent my mb to changed my battery for an older one and dented one of the tips of the battery case to the point it lost it's color - and you have a spare mac (I have a Core Duo mini, then good luck!

  • 2 month new Zen Micro, won't fully charge via

I have the zen micro 5gb and here's what been happening
Up until the last month the micro would charge up just fine. Now, it won't charge past one bar and it does show the charging icon in the upper right hand corner.
My USB connections are USB 2.0 at work and home and it won't fully charge. I ran the battery completely out of juice to try a fresh charge approach. I know the micro is getting power because it will run while plugged into my usb cable.
Oh yeah, recently, after the water drop on the screen, it usually loads the zen micro logo, then rolls right to the now playing screen. Recently, it sticks for about 0 seconds, and the touch pad is inacti've.
Before I deal with taking it back to BestBuy, I figured I'd see if there's anything I can try before.

    Thanks

You don't have to, but if your USB power is marginal it ensures that ALL the power is dedicated to charge the player.
I just switched it to lock and it is pulsing. When I'm at work I have to use my usb connection to charge and I can't load the driver onto my work machine. If it is not pulsing, is it only just using the usb for power?
It's only using the USB power for the data connection.
What's the deal with the pusling?
It shows the player is charging.
Also, what's the benefit of upgrading the firmware to v2?
See the link "the difference between the Zen Micro v and v2 firmware" in the FAQ post.

  • I keep getting an error code of 403 and it won't let me into my account.

I keep getting an error code of 403 and it won't let me into my account.

I just viewed the website on my computer, and it appears to be working okay on my end. It's possible that there's a setting in your web browser responsible for what you're seeing. I would recommend trying the following steps:
    1. Try to view the site in a different web browser to see if that's the issue. Normally, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all display the website properly. Try one or two of those (other than the one you've been using) and it should do the trick.
    2. If that doesn't work, try resetting Internet Explorer's default settings by clicking "Tools" (on the top menu bar), "Internet Options" (usually at the bottom of that list), "Advanced" (far-right tab), and "Reset" (towards the bottom-right of that box). After resetting the defaults, try viewing the ePrint Settings area again.
If I have SOLVED your issue, please feel free to provide KUDOS and make sure you mark this thread as SOLUTION PROVIDED!

  • ITunes won't fully load - how to fix this?

iTunes won't fully load.  Uninstalling and re-installing does not repair this.  Can anyone help?

I don't know why this error occurs, unless you have attempted to downgrade iTunes.
This method should get you up and running again.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • HT203697 My mac mini (late 2012) won't fully shut down, this happens all the time. How do i fix this?

My Mac Mini won't fully shut down. How do I fix this?

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME log message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now clear the search box to reveal all messages. Select the ones logged before the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down for three minutes before you forced a restart, post the messages timestamped within three minutes before the boot time, not after. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract—not at the beginning.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A shutdown stall report has a name that ends in ".shutdownstall". Select the most recent of each, if any. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. It's possible that none of these reports exists.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

I have an iBook with Dual USB that won't fully turn on. it flashes a "?" and the Mac face symbol in a folder i the middle of the screen. How can I trouble shoot?

Restart with the Option key held down and see if the internal drive appears.
If it does, click on it, press Enter, and then change the setting in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences or the Startup Disk control panel.
If it doesn't, insert a Mac OS install CD or DVD and use the Disk Utility or Disk First Aid to repair the internal drive. If there aren't any problems, install an OS onto it.

  • When downloading a song it says its waiting and won't fully download

When downloading a song on my iPhone is says its waiting and won't fully download.

Are you on an ipod or an ipad? If so, then you may have to go onto your itunes on your computer and re-sync it to the device, that should fix the problem.
If, by chance, you are on your computer when this happened, try doing the vice versa and still plug the device into your computer and transfer purchases from the device. That should work!
    Best Regards!

  • Iphoto won't fully open after computer being off for two weeks.

After being gone for two weeks I came back home, turned on my computer and tried to load some pictures I had taken into IPhoto.  I opened the program but in only partially opened and all I get is the spinning pinwheel.  After waiting several minutes for the program to finish loading I finally had to force quit it.  After several attempts I gave up.  I've downloaded all updates and don't know what else to do.  I'm wondering if the most recent update is for Lion and I'm still running Snow Leopard.  Could that be the problem.  I've sent the reports to Apple but of course won't receive any response.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • IPod touch 4G stuck in recovery mode- it won't even go into DFU

When I accidentally disconnected my iPod touch 4G during an update yesterday, it automatically went into recovery mode (the screen with the USB cable pointing up towards an iTunes logo). Now it won't turn off, it is recognised by neither my laptop nor by iTunes, it won't even go into DFU, so there's absolutely no way, as far as I can tell, to fix it. I've looked all over the internet, and the only other person I can find who has experienced a similar problem hasn't received an answer in about a year. • Iphone 5 freezes and crashes, won't let me into my calling or texting. How do I fix it?

I have had my IPhone 5 16GB for just over a year now, and it's never had these problems before. Recently my phone started freezing when I went to kill apps, then it started freezing on all my apps, and after it freezes it restarts, but when it restarts it won't let me into my phone, so I have to restart it myself. And now I can't even get into my texting OR calling. No calls are coming through to me, I can't dial out, I can't see any of my text messages, and I can't even send new texts from my contacts. I tried everything! I have tried resetting the home button, I have tried restarting my phone by holding down the power button and home button at the same time, (this is the only way to unfreeze my phone, but it only lasts maybe 5 minutes) and I have even connected my phone to the computer and tried restoring it, but nothing has worked. How can I fix these issues? I need to be able to make calls and receive them too. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Or is it time for a new phone?  Also my battery life is very bad, it dies very fast. I also have 3.1GB of storage on my phone as well. Today ( Dec 9th, 2014) I also update to the most recent software, 8.1.2. and the problems are still there.

If the phone does not work if you set it up as new device, without using any backup afterwards, you should get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place, or call Apple Support, they even can test your device online.
