Options integrate other external system

Hi people,
I want to know if there are several, or not, options to connect to a SAP ERP 6.0 from one CRM siebel. It´s mandatory with XI? It´s possible with one connector?
More thanks!

Dear pankaj Bansal,
Not only HANA, BW, R3, Any source, Any Driver...
BODS is number one tool for Data conversion, Cleansing, Transformation.
it supports wide range of specific and general sources  that means almost Any to Any ( Both way )
in the nearest feature every organization should need BODS a compressible tool for Data Migration.
for one time migration you can use any other method like CSV, Binary. but if you choose periodical data migration, my suggestion is BODS
Even in SAP long time Road map BODS is main tool for Data related playing
thanks & Regards

  • Integration between an external system and SAP OM

    Hi everybody,
I need to integrate an external system with SAP OM, and I would like to know how to do it (idoc? BAPI? other?)
What we need is the following:
    1. External system -
    > extraction of data changes (Cost center, positions, jobs changes) to an excel file
    2. Excel validated by HR administrator
    3. Validation of this file -
    > creates an Idoc (how do you create it?)
    4. This Idoc feeds SAP OM
Regards, and thanks in advance for your answer.
    Angie

    Hi Pradeep,
    Thanks for your answer!
I am fresh in this area of SAP, and I still have questions...
What are the BAPI and Objects  to use in this case? (I can't find any for OM)
    Thanks again for your enlightenment.

  • How to migrate projects from another (external) system into PS

    Hi,
Which technique to use in your opinion is the best practice to migrate projects in PS?
Batch input or ABAP program and use BAPIS? or is ther other alternative?
    Best regards
    Jose Marin

    Hello Jose,
Open PS is the best option, If your external system is MSP. There is no standard LSMW prog available for uploading the Projects. Howvever there are certain BAPIs available
    1.BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION
    2.BAPI_BUS2001_CREATE
    3.BAPI_BUS2054_CREATE_MULTI
4.BAPI_BUS2001_SET_STATUS (To set the status at project level)
    OR
BAPI_BUS2054_SET_STATUS (To set the status at WBS element level)
    5.BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT.
I guess you don't have to code again for this. Whatever structures and internal tables in BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN can be used to populate the above BAPIs.I have checked on BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN and this creates a Project definition too.
Good option is to create a custom program and load data using the BAPIu2019s.The program should perform couple of pre-validations and should have error handling capability as well.

  • Is it possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external system without SAP PI?

    Hi,
as asked in the title, i am wondering if it is possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external (non-SAP) system without using SAP PI/XI. The external system is a middleware application which can handle RFC functions, IDocs besides the usual web service communications.
However, i don't know how LSO and SAP PI are integrated so i wonder if their interfaces are such that instead of SAP PI another middleware could be used.

Web Services are used. If you were to implement the services in your 3rd party middleware and configure SAP to call it, I suppose it is possible. The external course catalog can be used for CourseEnrollment and LearningProgress. See the application help for details. Don't expect to receive support from SAP with such a setup however.

  • Options to extract from external system

    Hi,
What are all the possible options (DB connect, UD connect...) are there in BW to extract data from external system in BW and under which circumstances which one to use.
    Thanks,
    sam

    Hi Sam,
    Some information about DB Connect.
DB Connect allows you to have extra database connections besides the default connection for SAP.
You use these connections to access databases and transfer data into a BI system.
In general, BI application servers can only be supported for DB Connect on operating system versions where a SAP Database Shared Library (DBSL) has been released for the BI database and the source database.

  • How do I integrate SAP R/3 with an external system?

    Hi there!
I've run into a problem integrating SAP R/3 with an external system. The external system provides a webservice, and when I try to get WSDL file from that service, I am getting asked of authorization and when I authorize, I get error 500. The access is anonymous, as I'm being told. When I try to get just a response, server requests authorization. No matter what login and password I supply, I always get error 401 saying I'm not authorized.
I think the ICF is somewhat misconfigured, but how do I configure it? Or maybe there's a problem with requests I send. I don't know.
    Please help!
    Regards, Dima

    Hi,
You don't provide any info on how you want to cosnume the web service, but pls check things like

  • Other External Hard Drive Options

At first I thought the Mac mini would be a good idea for extra storage, but as I looked around here, over in Japan, I saw many other external harddrives that are compatible with the Macintosh OS. The few places that do sell Macs are selling the mini for about 70,000 yen, or close to $700 for the 40 gig, and the 80 gig is closer to 100,000 yen.
There are a few non Apple branded options where I could get 250 GB of storage for roughly $180, but I'm wondering if Apple itself sells basic external harddrives (sans all the things you get with the mac mini). Anybody help me out with this or give me some suggestions for good places to put my music and movies? And if you're already using an External Harddrive, is it easy to move things back and forth between your Mac and the HD? Hope you can help.

Apple does not make external hard drives, unless you count the iPods (which can be used in "disk" mode to store files other than music). The Mac mini is a whole computer, it would be an extremely expensive external hard drive for your iBook. I would suggest you look at a FireWire hard drive that's just a hard drive, not a computer. Pretty much any FireWire hard drive will be compatible with your iBook. It's simple to move files from your Mac's hard drive to the external hard drive, it will appear as an icon on your Desktop and you can just drag and drop files from one to the other.

  • Production Order and external system non-SAP

    Dear Friends,
I need to send a Production Order to a external system no SAP, and upload the information back to SAP,
SAP does something standard to accomplish this task?
To send Production Order, I created an IDOC with report RCCLORD, this IDOC contains all information of a production order (AUFNR, WERKS,..) and all operations and materials. But I don't know how to process the information returned.
Also I have read some information about the interface PP-PDC, but I don't know how to use it.
Please, Can anyone tell me the best way to accomplish this task?
    this is the scenario:
    SAP R/3 -
    > Production Order -
    > External System
    External System -
    > Return information about Production Order -
    > SAP R/3
    Thanks!

    Hi,
PP-PDC is for confirmations only, see further details

  • How to configure a Logical System for XI External System

I'm following the 'How to configure SAP XI to use the standard SAP communications APIs (idoc, pabi, rfc) from external system - How to create XI content with the Integration Builder' document.
I have everything configured, but in section 6.7 when I try to do a transaction BD10 on to send a MATMAS01 idoc using my Logical System IQS_EXTERN to my external system, it says '1 master IDocs set up ...', then it says '0 communication IDocs generated ...' and my external system does not get the IDoc. The NX7 Integration Engine does not get a message from SAP_CE8  to IQS_EXTERN.
How do I specifically configure my Logical System IQS_EXTERN to communicate with my external system via XI (NX7)?
    I'm using the ICC Test-System CE8, SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 IDES and the NX7 Exchange Infrastructure (http://iccpi7.sap.com/rep/start/index.jsp).

Check whether you have setup Partner profile for receiving system ( Here its XI system). You need to create outbound parter profile for XI system.

  • External System Authentication Credentials Best practice

We are in the process of an 5.0 upgrade.
We are using NTLM as our authentication source to get teh users and the groups and authenticate against the source. So currently we only have the NT userid, group info(NT domain password is not stored).
We need to get user credentials to other systems/applications so that we can pass that on the specfic applications when we search/crawl or integrate with those apps/systems.
We were thinking of getting the credentials(App userid and password) for other applications by developing a custom Profile Web service to gather the information specific to these users. However, don't know if external application password is secured when retrieving from the external repository via a PWS and storing into the Portal database.
Is this the best approach to take to gather the above information? If not, please recommend the best practice to follow.
Alternatively, can have the users enter the external system credentials by having them edit their user profile. However, this approach is not preferred.
If we can't store the user credential to the external apps, we won't eb able to enhance the user experience when doing a search/or click-thorugh to tthe other applications.
    Any insight would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Vanita

    Hi Vanita,
So your solution sounds fine - however, it might be easier to use an SSO Token or the Plumtree UserID in your external applications as a difinitive authentication token.
For example if you have some external application that requires a username and password, then if you are in a portlet view of the application the application should be able to take the userid plumtree sends it to authenticate that it is the correct user.  You should limit this sort of password bypass to traffic being gatewayed by the portal (i.e. coming from the portal server only).
If you want to write a Profile Web Service, the data the gets stored in the Plumtree Database is exactly what the Profile Web Service send it as the value for a particular attribute.  For example if your PWS tells Plumtree that the APP1UserName and APP1Password for user My Domain\Akash is Akash and password then that is what we save.  If your PWS encrypts the password using some 2-way encryption before hand, then that is what we will save.  These properties are simply attached to the user, and can be sent to different portlets.
    Hope this helps,

  • Best practice to integrate the external(ERP or Database etc) eCommerce data in to CQ

    Hi Guys,
I am refering to GEOMetrixx-Outdoors project for building eCommerce fucntionality in our project.
Currently we are integrating with an ERP system to fetch the Product details.
Now I need to store all the Product data from ERP system in to our CRX  under etc/commerce/products/<myproject> folder structure.
Do I need to create a csv file structure as explained in the geometrixx-outdoors project  and place it exactly the way they have mentioned in the documentation? By doing this the csvimporter will import the data in to CRX and creates the Sling:folder and nt:unstructured nodes in to CRX?
Please guide me  which is this best practice to integrate the external eCommerce data in to CQ system to build eCommerce projects?
Are there any other best practices ?
Your help in this regard is really appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Kresten,
    Thanks for your reply.
I went through the eCommerce framework link which you sent.
Can you get me few of the steps to utilise eCommerce framework to pull all the product information in to our CRX repository and also  how to synchronise between the ERP system and CRX data. Is that we have a scheduling mechanism to pull the data from our ERP system and synch it with CRX repository?
    Thanks

  • FTP file on Appserver to an external system from ABAP

    Hi,
I am trying to FTP a file that my program writes to the APPSERVER directory. I used FTP_CONNECT, FTP_COMMAND and FTP_DISCONNECT.
I am able to connect to the external system and change to the directory where I have to write the file using cd. The problem arises when I use lcd command to switch the local directory. Although, i specify the path, lcd /usr/sap/icomm/iface/outbound/, on execution of this command, the system points to my C:\Documents and Settings\rkademani\SapWorkDir.
How can I make it point to my appserver?
Further, this program will be scheduled as a background job in Production. I have tried to schedule this as a background job, even then it gives me the same error.
    Please help. Thanks in advance.

  • Open Hub External System

    Hi,
I have a basic requirement to extract data out of Open Hub into an external Oracle database. I have read previous threads online on this topic, but still have a couple of questions that are not clearly answered.
Firstly, my client complies with all licensing arrangements to use Open Hub.They do not want to use flat files and they do not have access to tools like the Microsoft Connector described in many online blogs.
Secondly, my client would like BW to kick off the process chain, load into an internal BW table, and then raise a trigger to the external Oracle database to come and "pull" the data from the newly created table. I am new to working with API's, but I read about standard API's been available to achieve this, but I would like some simple clarrification:
    - In my Process Chain, after I load the Open Hub data into the internal table, I want BW to use the API RSB_API_OHS_3RDPARTY_NOTIFY to tell the external system it's ready to pull the data. Reading the docu about this API, it seems like this needs to be initated from the external Oracle database. Is this correct (I would hope BW could do this) ? And if so, I dont know if my client has these API's on their Oracle system. How do I ensure they do ? I imagine they are freely available, but since I am not a DBA, and do not have access to someone who can tell me or not, I would like to know what the standard procedure for API communication is here. An example or white paper showing the API (with parameters) for a real life scenario would be ideal.
    - If the above does not work, even though they say the Microsoft connector tool can be used for Oracle, I am hesitant to use a Microsoft tool, when surely Oracle has their own free tool to do this - or can the Microsoft Connector integrate directly with an Oracle database ??????
    - When we refer to the term "Third Party Tool", does this mean a ETL tool like Informatica, or a connection tool like the Microsoft Connector, or the external database like the Oracle database in this example ?
Any clarrification with the above would be most appreciated. I do not have access to a BW system yet, so I would like to know some of the details before I propose a potential solution.
    Thanks,
    BWPerson
