Options on photo tab dimmed

I have am using iTunes 7.0.1.8 to load photos, however, the options on the Photo tab are grayed out. I've copied photos to my ipod before. Any ideas what could be the problem? Also, on Edit -> Preferences, I don't see an option for Photos, should there be?

You can never totally remove anything that you have purchased from iTunes, the App Store, or iBooks. Your purchases will always be tied to your Apple ID. You can hide those songs by going to Settings>iTunes and App Store>Show all>Music>Off. You can do the same for videos.
But bear in mind, all that you are doing is hiding the purchases and they will not be downloaded to your device unless you go back to that settings, show the songs again and then tap the cloud to download them to the iPad.

Hello. I'm searching for a way to get my photos _from_ my iphone 5s in iTunes. I don't see the photo tab on my iphone. Where can I find it ?

With the phone connected to your computer, you should see an external drive listed in Windows Explorer. Look in there for photos taken on the phone that you wish to transfer to the computer.

This is incorrect.
The Photos tab is always available when you have your iDevice connected.
First open iPhoto, move the photos you want to get rid of to the trash, then close iPhoto.
No one seems to want to delete the photos from iPhoto/computer.
They just don’t want them to sync to the iPad.

All photos have disappeared from main photos tab

The main "photos" tab dirrectly under projects is showing no photos. The photos are still in their projects but not showing in all photos.

Running Library First Aid (hold down Command and Option when launching Aperture) solved the issue. The last option Restoring library brought all the photos back if anyone is interested.

How to show the photos tab in iTunes? Problem since ios 7 update.

Where is the photo tab on iTunes? My iPad is listed on the left side in iTunes, but there is no photos tab.
The left hand pane window in iTunes is maximized, but I do not see any tab for photos. Seems related to a recent update (IOS7?) as this was there - at least before the very big change to the interface.

Don't worry, there is no duplication. Photo Library is just a summary all the photos from different folders that you have synced over. Right now you have synced only one folder to the library and therefore your Synced folder (14photos) is equal to Photos Library(14).

ITunes 9 forgetting apple TV photos tab prefs

I like itunes 9 new options for photos syncing. I choose some faces and choose to remember selected events from the last 6 months. Great.
After itunes restart, go into apple tv photos tab, the faces are still selected, but not the events. Always reverts back to the "no events" choice.
Need an itunes update, or faulty .plist file?
Anyone else experiencing this?

CANT UPLOAD PHOTOS! As no photo tab! Someone please help!

Ok basically, when i plug my ipod nano in, and click on it under devices, it shows me HALF of the lisence agreement page. So i click save, and save the agreement, but then nothing happens. I cannot see the other side of the page so i am assuming there is another button you press to continue.
In the help sections it explains to upload photos you click the photo tab..but there isnt one??
is there any way of uploading photos a different route??

If you fill out your user profile with your computer info we can probably tell you about buttons, scroll options, etc. As it is you give us almost nothing to work with....

Photos tab won't load to sync to Ipad or Iphone

This is a really annoying problem - I used to have all my photos synced to my Ipad but now the option to sync doesn't load. Instead within the photos tab on Itunes there is an endless spinning wheel that never loads. The problem occurred a couple of months ago after either an Itunes upgrade or when I put Mavericks on my Imac but I thought it was because I was using an Ipad 1st generation. Now I have an Iphone 5s and Ipad air and still cannot sync.
I spoke to apple customer support (sic) and was passed back and forwards between IOS, Imac and Ipad experts who all had no idea about the problem, said they had not come across it before and thought the fault laid with another expert. The call lasted virtually 2 hours without any solution - but at least they all asked how I was today!
I'm running Itunes 11.1.3 & OSX 10.9.1. My photos are stored within Iphoto 9.5.1 - software on both Ipad and Iphone are up to date.

So here's an update to my May 13 post. Today the problem fixed itself -- sort of. I now have two iCloud inboxes in my Appe Mail -- they are redundant except if I examine the details, one has the name of an outgoing server and one doesn't. I'm sort of afraid to delete either.
If someone sends me an email to my MobileMe address, I now get two copies. And my old Notes have re-appeared so they are synching once again.
But, hey Apple, I'd be happier if you told me what was going on? I did nothing today to cause this thing to come back to life. You did something so you must know there's a problem. What is it?

The Photos tab doesn't appear there. If you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos e.g. :
If you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

IPhone 3g, Photos tab missing in iTunes

I've got a 3G iPhone and when I sync it with my computer there's not a photos tab anymore. I have the latest version 3.1.3 for the iPhone and I've been told that there should be a photo tab so I don't know what the problem is. Can someone help?

I have possibly the same problem. I noticed one thing, if you resize the window smaller there is no scroll bar to get to hidden tab. You also cannot use the keyboard to get to hidden tabs. You can also not make the iTunes window larger that the current resolution. The last tab I can see is actually 'Photo' wiht the 's' cut off but I seem to remember with some of my clients there was an advanced tab at the end with at least backup options.
My tabs are as following...
Summary, Info, Applications, Ringtones, Music, Films, TV Programmes, Podcasts, iTunes U, Photo
Hmmm, I thought of another way to get more room for the tabs, I moved the left vertical scroll bar all the way to the left. It seems that 'Photos' is the last tab. There should still be some way to go through to hidden tabs when your window is smaller. And where is the backup option? Not the option to encrypt the backup, since there is no backup yet.

Now, I have read a post like this before, but there is a difference.
My Ipod has never displayed a photo tab.
I've had it since around august 2007 and I've tried reinstalling itunes and resetting my ipod and everything I can think of but the photos tab just will not come up.
Anyone help? Greatly appreciated.

Head to Settings -> Main Menu (something along those lines) and make sure the Photos option has a check mark next to it.

What's the origin of this external drive? It sounds very much like it's a Windows-formatted (NTFS) drive which Macs can't write to. If you can, copy the files off the drive, reformat it as Mac format (using Disk Utility) and copy the files back. If you need to continue writing to it from a Windows PC, you should format it ExFAT in Disk Utility.
