Options to attaching from email post iOS 7

Before iOS7, I could attach files from iBook in an email but the only option available post iOS 7 is to attach Photo or take a photo. Does anyone know if there's a setting change to add iBook or iZip to the available options?

Hello ritaright,
Photos can be saved from an email by holding your finger on the photo, then choosing Save Image.

Regarding the setting of resizing your background image, it may be desirable to enable 'Reduce Motion.'

You first need an app on the iPad that supports the attachment type. When you have an app you should then be able to press and hold the attachment and use the 'open in' pop-up to save the attachment to that app.

  • Opened ".pdf.exe" attachment from email

Using win7... received email attachment from inside my company with .pdf.exe suffix.  Unfortunately, I opened it.  Now all .exe files go to acrobat where error message is displayed that ".exe file cannot be opened".  Even 'task manager' and 'regedit' can't open.
Was able to uninstall acrobat (version X) and now laptop back to normal.  Tried installing version XI, but same thing happened again.

  • IOS4.0.2 won't open excel attachment from email

I can open the PDF file, but not the excel file. When I click on the .xls attachment from my email, it brought me to the home screen. Does anyone know what I need to setup in order to be able to view the excel file?

Motion can't find a framework it needs in order to launch. That could be because the framework is missing or because permissions are set incorrectly.
To fix this problem, try repairing permissions. If that doesn't work, reinstall Final Cut Studio or copy the file /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Helium.framework/Frameworks/HeliumRender.fram ework/Versions/A/HeliumRender from another computer with the SAME version of Final Cut Studio. Then repair permissions again.

  • Extracting MIME attachment from email using OSB proxy service - email transport

    Hi,
I'm reading email messages(multipart/mixed) with attachments(pdf, zip, xml and csv) from MS Exchange Server 2010 using OSB proxy service email transport.I need to save the attachments to a local folder and process one of the attachments, an XML file. Below is the proxy service config.
    Proxy Service Configuration (Test1/Proxy Services/GetEmail)
    Actions:
    General Configuration
    Service Type   Messaging Service
    Message Type Configuration
    Request Message Type
    Text
    Response Message Type
    None
    Transport Configuration
    Protocol   email
    Endpoint URI   mailfrom:mailserver.net:143
    Get All Headers   No
    Headers
    EMAIL Transport Configuration
    Email Protocol   imap
    Service Account   Test1/Proxy Services/email_acc
    Managed Server   WLS_OSB1
    Polling Interval   30
    Read Limit   2
    Pass By Reference   false

    Post Read Action   move
    IMAP Move Folder   processed
    Attachments   archive

    Request Encoding   iso-8859-1
    Message Handling Configuration
    Transaction Required   Disabled
    Same Transaction For Response   Disabled
    Content Streaming   Disabled
The polling is working fine. I've encoded the attachment variable to Base64 using a java callout.$attachments/ctx:attachment/ctx:body/ctx:binary-content has been passed as the byte[] input to the java method and the response is captured in $encodedAttachment. I've created a SaveFile BS(file type) with Request Message Type = Binary and Response Message Type = None. I've tried replacing the node ./ctx:binary-content in body variable with encodedAttachment in the request action of the Publish action to call the BS. One file is getting created with contents of the entire email, MIME headers and boundary parts along with the base64 encoded attachments.
    <Contents from the created file>
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: multipart/related; boundary=MIME_Boundary;
      type="binary/octet-stream"
    --MIME_Boundary
    Content-Type: binary/octet-stream
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

If I put a delete action in the request to Publish action for SaveFile BS to delete the $attachments, the created file contains only the email body part and the attachment boundary part is missing.
I've uploaded the OSB log with full trace enabled.
How can I pass the  encodedAttachment to the BS for saving the files?
Would iterating through the $aatachment/ctx:attachment give me the individual attachments for saving and processing, as there are separate binary-content refs in them?
Any help to achieve my requirement is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Manoj,
Thanks for the quick reply to my query.
The thing is, the link you have provided talks more from changing the business Service configurations i.e. the type of the service etc, but the concern is, that the Business Service is already Implemented and hence the change would not be an appropriate option for me.
Please let me know, if any more information is required.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Trying to download an attachment from email, Word identifies it as .html file

I am trying to download an email attachment using Word for Mac to open.  The file won't open.  The name of the document changes to .html.  Any help appreciated. I am new to Mac.

This solution will not solve the problem but maybe handle it:
    1) Right-click on the attachment and choose "open with"
    2) When it doesnt work, Right-click the attachment and "save to Downloads Folder". Go to the Downloads Folder and check the end of the file if it is .html. If true, select the saved file and choose "Get Info" from the menu or Press Command-I (which does the same). Then rename the file under "Name & Extension" to .doc

  • Saving video from email with IOS 8

Let me start by saying I am such a huge apple fan but I absolutely HATE IOS8. So many obvious features which appear to have been stripped it is driving me insane! One of which is the ability to save a video to my phone from my email.
Does anyone know a way to do this? I frequently email myself instagram teaser videos for promotional things then I save them from my email and post them to instagram through my phone. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this with IOS8. There appears no way to save videos from my email.

After researching, I was about to reset the network settings but came across a quick fix of toggling the on/off button to airplane mode instead. For whoever had the same question, here is the link I followed:

  • How do I save excel attachment from email

Hello... My received email attachment is an excel file but read as PDF format when opened from my iPad. Do i need Iwork apps to save it as excel file or is there any other way I can do it.

You use apps to do this. Look at Documents to Go, or Office2HD. Used with the superb free Cloud service Dropbox either of these will work for you.
In the email, you can just 'Open with ...' (one of the apps) and then save either locally or to Dropbox which will sync the file to all your laptops and desktops too.

  • How to Extract .CSV attachment from Email

We have a working scenario for (.csv)File to R/3 via ABAP Proxy. The file is currently placed on the application server manually. It will soon start arriving by e-mail as an attachment. Is it possible to use XI to detach the .csv attachment and place the file on the server ? Required process is Email -> File -> XI -> R/3

    Shawn,
You can do a EMAIL -- XI -- File to send the file to the Target directory.
To extract the file from the Mail Attachment, you need to use the Payload Swap Bean .

  • Downloading attachements from email

Hey, I have a quick question. Can you download and save an attachment you receive in email on the iPhone?

"its not a picture it's a music file I want to save and send to a friend's cell phone via sms. "
    No.
Are you asking how to steal music? When you buy a cd or download, you have the right to copy for personal use, not for distribution (this includes giving it to friends).

  • Cannot download any attachments from my email on iOS 6

When trying download attachment from emails after downloading iOS 6 I get an error message that says I cannot download attachment. Prior to iOS 6 these same attachments would pull up with no problems

    Did you figure this out?
Do you see an option to "download full message" at the bottom of the email?  (See the attached photo showing the "download full message" button at the bottom of the email window).
My mom was having a problem like yours on her iPod.  Referring to the photo attached to this forum post, if she tapped on "image.jpeg" she would get a pop-up error that said "cannot download attachment" and her only option was to tap OK on the pop-up to clear it.  We figured out that scolling to the bottom of the message and tapping on "download full message" would successfully download the image.jpeg file attached to the email.

What is the problem? What does not work?
Either drag the attachment from the mail to the iPhoto con in the Dock, or ctrl-click the attachment and use the option "Export to iPhoto" from the pop-up menu (in Mail in MacOS X 10.10). Don't remember, if this worked in Mail in Mac OS X (10.5.8), as your signature is showing.
