Ora-00600 error when registering xsd with large enumeration

I am trying to register the xsd:
http://212.130.77.78/StandatWS/StandatXSD.asmx/GetSchema?SchemaFile=std00019.xsd
It contains a very large enumerated type like this:
<xsd:simpleType name="std00019">
<xsd:annotation>
<xsd:documentation>Stofparametre</xsd:documentation>
</xsd:annotation>
<xsd:restriction base="xsd:string">
<xsd:enumeration value="0000">
<xsd:annotation>
<xsd:documentation></xsd:documentation>
</xsd:annotation>
</xsd:enumeration>
<xsd:enumeration value="0001">
<xsd:annotation>
<xsd:documentation>Syn</xsd:documentation>
</xsd:annotation>
</xsd:enumeration>
The file is more than 7000 lines of xml. If I try to cut it down to less than 4000 lines or so, then I can register it. Otherwise it give me an error like this:
1 begin
2 dbms_xmlschema.registerURI(
3 'http://212.130.77.78/StandatWS/StandatXSD.asmx/GetSchema?SchemaFile=std00019.xsd',
4 'http://212.130.77.78/StandatWS/StandatXSD.asmx/GetSchema?SchemaFile=std00019.xsd'
5 );
6* end;
SQL> /
begin

Do you know if there is a maximum length of an enumeration in oracle?

  • ORA-04062 error when running forms with different users

    ORA-04062 error when running forms with different users
    I have a form that has a block that should display some data from another users tables. (The other user's name is dynamic, it's selected from a list box)
    I wrote a stored procedure to get the data from other user's tables.
    When I compile the form and run it with the same user I compiled, it works without any error. But when I run the compiled form with another user I get the ORA-04062 (signature of procedure has been changed) error.
    I tried setting REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE to SIGNATURE in init.ora but it didn't help.
    My Forms version is 6i with Patch 15.
    Database version is 9.
    Here is my stored procedure:
    TYPE Scenario_Tab IS TABLE OF NUMBER(34) INDEX BY BINARY INTEGER;
    TYPE Open_Curs IS REF CURSOR;
    PROCEDURE Get_Scenarios(User_Name IN VARCHAR2, Scen_Table OUT Scenario_Tab) IS
    Curs Open_Curs;
    i NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    OPEN Curs FOR
    'SELECT Seq_No FROM '|| User_Name ||'.scenario';
    i := 1;
    LOOP
    FETCH Curs INTO Scen_Table(i);
    EXIT WHEN Curs%NOTFOUND;
    i := i + 1;
    END LOOP;
    END Get_Senarios;
    I would be happy to solve this problem. It's really important.
    Maybe somebody can tell me another way to do what I want to do. (getting a list of values from another users tables)

    I think it should be a better solution to create a package,
    and put your own TYPES and procedure into it.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE PKG_XXX IS
    TYPE TYP_TAB_CHAR IS TABLE OF .... ;
    PROCEDURE P_XX ( Var1 IN VARCHAR2, var2 IN OUT TYP_TAB_CHAR );
    END ;
    Then in your Form :
    Declare
    var PKG_XXX.TYP_TAB_CHAR ;
    Begin
    PKG_XXX.P_XX( 'user_name', var ) ;
    End ;

    Thanks.

    This is a bug. There is no Patch avaialble for this yet. This error is seen where recyclebin is enabled. Possible workaround is to disable the recyclebin.
    This happens with the dictionary corruption due to inconsistency between obj$ and seg$.
    This is a correct answer but still i would suggest to contact Oracle support.

  • ORA 00600 Error when using Mapviewer addJDBCTheme

    Hello
    I am receiveing the 600 error via my OC4J window when using mapviewers addJDBCTheme with the passTthrough boolean set to false (the query is rewitten by mapviewer to limit it to the results to the map view). If I perfrom the same query with passThrough set to true, no problems. I have a feeling this may relate to the index on my table. OC4J output for error below.
    Any ideas appriciated.

    Chris,
    Can you run this rewritten query
    SELECT * FROM ( select spat_data, mbl_bka_id, mbl_title from WPE_SPATIAL_BLOCKS_VIEW_10G c ) WHERE MDSYS.SDO_FILTER(spat_data, MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, 81989, NULL, MDSYS.SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1003, 3), MDSYS.SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(278472.6,186744.0,279272.6,187544.0)), 'querytype=WINDOW') = 'TRUE'
    in sql*plus without any errors?
    The asumptions is there is a spatial index on spat_data and all the geometries are valid.
    Also there will be a trace file on the db server. That'll give more details on what the likely cause is.

  • ORA-00600 error when inserting NULL in BLOB column

    Hi,
    I want to insert NULL value into a BLOB column w/o using empty_blob(), but I am getting the following error upon submission (both through program and upon directly executing it from TOAD/SQL*):
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kxtotolc_lobopt], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
    The query is as follows:
    insert into image_rendering r
    (r.Version_date_time, r.id, r.Name, r.Type, r.Image_url, r.Image_filesize, r.Html, r.Original_Text, r.Redirect_url, r.Version, r.Rendering_size) values
    (sysdate, '1963884', '468x60_1.gif', '0', '225/9-468x60_1.gif', '1471', null, null, null, '1', '30670908')
    In the table r.Html, r.Original_Text are blob and clob columns respectively.
    If I remove the column r.Html (blob) and its corresponding value the following query executes fine :
    insert into image_rendering r
    (r.Version_date_time, r.id, r.Name, r.Type, r.Image_url, r.Image_filesize, r.Original_Text, r.Redirect_url, r.Version, r.Rendering_size)
    values
    (sysdate, '1963884', '468x60_1.gif', '0', '225/9-468x60_1.gif', '1471', null, null, '1', '30670908')
    I know I can also insert the query using the string empty_blob(), but I dont want to do it without using empty_blob() since it will involve changing my generic DB classes.
    The strange thing is that I created another table involving blob and clob columns through TOAD.
    In this table I can insert NULL values in the blob column without any error.
    Is there anything that can be done to insert a NULL into my blob column? Am I missing anything?
    Is there a setting in the database that will allow me to do this? cuz one table accepts null and the other doesn't. Its strange.
    I am using Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0
    The query doen't execute through toad or sql* plus or through program (I am using thin oracle drivers: the usual classes12.zip file)
    thanks in advance

  • ORA-01461 Error when mapping table with multiple varchar2(4000) fields

    (Note: I think this was an earlier problem, supposed fixed in 11.0, but we are experiencing in 11.7)
    If I map an Oracle 9i table with multiple varchar2(4000) columns, targeting another Oracle 9i database, I get the ORA-01461 error (Can't bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG).
    I have tried changing the target columns to varchar2(1000), as suggested as a workaround in earlier versions, all to no avail.
    I can have just one varchar2(4000) map correctly and execute flawlessly - the problem occurs when I add a second one.
    I have tried making the target column a LONG, but that does not solve the problem.
    Then, I made the target database SQL Server, and it had no problem at all, so the issue seems to be Oracle-related.

    Hi Jon,
    Thanks for the feedback. I'm unable to reproduce the problem you describe at the moment - if I try to migrate a TEXT(5), OMWB creates a VARCHAR(5) and the data migrates correctly!! However, I note from you description that even though the problematic source column datatype is TEXT(5), you mention that there are actually 20 lines of text in this field (and not 5 variable length characters as the definition might suggest).
    Having read through some of the MySQL reference guide I note that, in certain circumstances, MySQL actually changes the column datatype specified either at table creation time or when interfacing with other databases ( ref 14.2.5.1 Silent Column Specification Changes and 12.7 Using Column Types from Other Database Engines in the MySQL reference guide). Since your TEXT(5) actually contains 20 lines of text, MySQL (database or JDBC driver .... or both) may be trying to automatically map the specified datatype of the column to a datatype more appropriate to storing 20 lines of text.... that is, to a LONG value in this case. Then, when Oracle is presented with this LONG value to store in a VARCHAR(5) field, it throws the ORA-01461 error. I need to investigate this further, but this may be the case - its the first time I've see this problem encountered.
    To workaround this, you could change the datatype of the column to a LONG from within the Oracle Model before migrating. Any application code that accesses this column and expects a TEXT(5) value may need to be adjusted to cope with a LONG value. Is this a viable workaround for you?
    I will investigate further and notiofy you of any details I uncover. We will need to track this issue for possible inclusion in future development plans.
    I hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Tom.

    I installed Oracle 9.2.0.1 on Linux Redhat 7.3. The installation says everything went fine. I attempted to create a database
    by using the dbca just to make sure things were really working.
    However,
    I receive the following error:
    ORA-00600 internal error code arguments
    [1236], [][][][][]
    From what I've read this could be some kind of general exception error, I don't know.
    I've increased the shmmax size. Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    David

    If it is indeed a server timeout issue, the following document might be usefull: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/606e9338-bf3e-2b10-b7ab-ce76a7e34432
    It's about Troubleshooting Time-outs in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI, but  a lot is still applicable.
    Hope this helps...

  • XML Schema causing an ORA-00600 error

    Hi,
    I have an xml schema that generates an ORA-00600 error when I try to create a table containing an XMLType column that references the schema.
    Here's an extract from my xmlschema with the offending bit in bold:
    <xs:simpleType name="PrintIndicator">
              <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
                   <xs:length value="1"/>
                   <xs:enumeration value="0"/>
                   <xs:enumeration value="1"/>
                   <xs:enumeration value="2"/>
                   <xs:enumeration value="3"/>
                   <xs:enumeration value="4"/>
                   <xs:enumeration value="5"/>
              </xs:restriction>
         </xs:simpleType>
    <xs:complexType name="ISCDBankOffices">
              <xs:sequence>
                   <xs:element name="BankOfficeTitle" type="BACS:BankOfficeTitle"/>
                   <xs:element name="PrintIndicator">
                        <xs:simpleType>
                             <xs:restriction base="BACS:PrintIndicator"/>                    </xs:simpleType>
                   </xs:element>
              </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    Does anyone know why this causes Oracle a problem. The schema originates from an external third-party so I can't easily change it.
    Thanks
    John

    Problem seems to be the colon in the type name.
    <xs:simpleType name="PrintIndicator">
    <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
    <xs:length value="1"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="0"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="1"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="2"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="3"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="4"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="5"/>
    </xs:restriction>
    </xs:simpleType>
    <xs:complexType name="ISCDBankOffices">
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="BankOfficeTitle" type="BACSBankOfficeTitle"/>
    <xs:element name="PrintIndicator">
    <xs:simpleType>
    <xs:restriction base="BACSPrintIndicator"/> </xs:simpleType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    try this one. I removed the colons.
    Normally column names in Oracle cannot have such special characters.
    Hope This helps.

  • Who is in charge of ORA-00600 errors?

    Dear Sirs:
    I am experiencing an elusive ORA-00600 error when running the following query:
    SELECT
    SEUF.CDESCR,
    GIUD.COGNOM,
    max(UDIE.DATUDI),
    FASC.NUMPRO,
    GIUD.NUMGIU
    FROM
    SEUF, GIUD, UDIE, FASC, STATO_FASE_CORRENTE
    WHERE
    ( FASC.NUMGIU=GIUD.NUMGIU(+) )
    AND ( FASC.NUMPRO=UDIE.NUMPRO(+) )
    AND ( FASC.CTIPSE=SEUF.CTIPSE(+) )
    AND ( STATO_FASE_CORRENTE.NUMPRO=FASC.NUMPRO )
    AND (
    STATO_FASE_CORRENTE.CODNFP = 'E'
    AND ( ((FASC.CTIPSE != 'LA' or FASC.CTIPSE is NULL) AND FASC.CTIPRI NOT IN ('AS','CE','CN','CT','II','LO','R2','RC','SP','SQ','UA')) )
    GROUP BY
    SEUF.CDESCR,
    GIUD.COGNOM,
    FASC.NUMPRO,
    GIUD.NUMGIU
    I am working with Oracle 8.0.5.0.0 on a Micorosft Windows 2000 5.00.2195 server with 512 MB RAM, Intel P3/700 processor. I will send on request the Oracle LOG and TRC files describing the error in detail, with memory dumps and so on.
    The same query runs with no problem on an identical database under another very similar windows 2000 server, with the same version of Oracle.
    As long as the suggested "actions" require sending all the informations about the error to Oracle Corporation, I would like to know whether there is an Oracle department in charge of dealin[i]Long postings are being truncated to ~1 kB at this time.

    Thank you to everyone. After a day's work I realized that there is something wrong at very low level, probably an incipient disk failure.
    So this is not an Oracle problem, after all.
    Thanks again

  • Ora-00600 error on select distinct when using cursors

    Hi, we are using oracle9iFS version 9.0.1.1.0. When I execute the following query in sqlPlus an ora-00600 error occurs.
    Here is the query:
    SELECT     DISTINCT ODMV_FOLDER.NAME,
         CURSOR(SELECT ODMV_DOCUMENT.NAME
    FROM     ODMV_DOCUMENT
    WHERE     ODMV_DOCUMENT.ID = ODMV_FOLDERRELATIONSHIP.RIGHTOBJECT)as Document
    FROM     ODMV_FOLDER,
              ODMV_FOLDERRELATIONSHIP
    WHERE     ODMV_FOLDER.CREATOR = 96 /*this is the user 'system'*/
    AND (ODMV_FOLDER.ID = ODMV_FOLDERRELATIONSHIP.LEFTOBJECT)
    I have no clue why is this happening. I might be doing something wrong since a similar query with a nested cursor works with the scott/tiger schema. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
    Alfonso.

    I was able to reproduce this error. This looks like a bug in the RDBMS; I would suggest posting on their newsgroup or working with support to handle this problem.

  • Error when inserting xml with xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation

    Hello,
    Hopefully this isn't a stupid question....
    I am currently using Oracle 9.2.0.6.0 to try out XML.
    I haven't been able to get our DBAs to set up XML DB in its entirety so I just have the basics, i.e. I have access to the xmltype object but none of the packages like DBMS_SCHEMA and DBMS_XDB. Therefore, I haven't been able to register any schemas in the database.
    So what I'd like to know is why do I get an ORA-21700 error when I try to load an xml document which has the 'xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation' attribute'. If I take this out of the XML document, it loads.
    From my initial reading, I got the impression that registering a schema in order to validate documents was an optional, although probably an ideal, step to take.
    So another way of phrasing this subject might be: can one insert xml documents without the use of a schema?
    The example code is shown below.
    dbase> INSERT INTO MY_TABLE( id , message_type , status , rcvd_time, filename , xmlcol)
    2 VALUES ( 1, 0 , 'RECEIVED', sysdate , 'tempfilename' ,
    3 xmltype('<ExampleXML xmlns:xsi = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    4 xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation = "ExampleXML.xsd">
    5 <tag1>
    6 <tag2 attr1="something">Some data
    7 </tag2>
    8 </tag1>
    9 </ExampleXML>')
    10 );
    xmltype('<ExampleXML xmlns:xsi = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    ERROR at line 3:
    ORA-21700: object does not exist or is marked for delete
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.XMLTYPE", line 0
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    dbase> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf
    1 INSERT INTO MY_TABLE ( id , message_type , status , rcvd_time, filename , xmlcol)
    2 VALUES ( 1, 0 , 'RECEIVED', sysdate , 'tempfilename' ,
    3 xmltype('<ExampleXML xmlns:xsi = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    4 >
    5 <tag1>
    6 <tag2 attr1="something">Some data
    7 </tag2>
    8 </tag1>
    9 </ExampleXML>')
    10* )
    dbase> /
    1 row created.
    The xmlcol column was created simply as an xmltype column.

    Basically using XMLType without XML DB is almost impossible in 9.2.x. Please have the DBA's install XML DB by running the script $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catqm.sql. They can follow the installing XDB instuctions in the XML DB Developer's guide.
    What is actually happening here is that the PARSER is hard wired to always check is a document that contains an noNamespaceSchemaLocation or schemaLocation tag is associated with an XML Schema that has been registered with Oracle XML DB. If is is, special action is takem, if it isn't then no special action is taken. Unfortunately for various arcane technical reasons if the the XDB repository is not present the check fails totally. Even if we fixed this bug, which has been marked not feasible to fix in the past, there are many other issues with the inbuilt XML technology having dependancies on the presence of the XML DB repository and XDB database user.
    So the net/net is don't use XMLType or any XML related features in 9.2.x or later unless XML DB is installed. It is extremenly likely at this point in time that XML DB will become a mandatory component of the next release of the database. At that point you will no longer have an option. It will be automatically installed when a database is created or updated and there will be no way of un-installing it.
